Well, you guys will love this. I got SD from school, ran home, picked up Gus early and we flew down the highway to our appt. Made it with 2 mins. to spare!

And, she comes out and says: "Your appt. is tomorrow at 4. Not today."

I've had days like that!

Glad all went well at the parent/teacher conferences....and you've got to love a teacher who encourages FUN!

Z... the whole snowy all the time in Colorado is just a myth... the mountains have snow on them alot but down in Denver we don't usually have snow on a constant basis... it's like the rains in the afternoons in orlando... it comes... we freeze ... it melts... usually in the same day lol... sometimes longer... Only time we get alot is if we get a blizzard which is only once every few years it seems.. I'm not complaining lol

Not much going on here. I'm caught up on work, Leo had a riding lesson last night and Gramma and I are fighting over the thermostat. Life as usual!

I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned today, I opened all the windows and the back door to get some air in. I then went off to the shops totally forgetting I'd opened everything up and the back door was wide open Luckily the burglars in the area weren't fast enough and everything was fine but OMG how stupid

I've also got my first interview, my press release went out yesterday, it's for a website about kids

We've left for the whole day and left our garage open. We never lock the inside door. Anybody could have walked right in. Guess they all know we don't have much!
Those cakes look awesome!

And we are home from the hospital.

Jon got the stomach flu and we were in the ER all night long as he couldn't keep down his meds. They gave him 2 bags of fluid along with his meds, and wanted to keep us into the afternoon but he was hysterical about staying.

He had pretty much stopped his vomiting by about 5 this morning. They kept him and made sure he could hold down some water and let us go home.

Now he's sleeping behind me on my bed.

Oh...and also send good thoughts to Meeska. She is having surgery today to blast some more of her kidney stones.

I hope Meeska is doing well. Poor Jon - YUK!

Hi Fockers, just driving by soo busy with the rest of year end, will be happy when it's February.

I went out to Target, then called D and we met for lunch. Then I went to the grocery. It was nice. But I can't believe it's already nearly 3:00.

The boys have yoga later, so we'll be out again. I did actually run through a car wash, too - coming home from their tennis last night, I honestly couldn't see my headlights as they were too salt and grime covered.

I just cannot get warm today. I'm sitting here with my Mammoths on, a warm dog next to me and the laptop on me, but I'm chilled. And it's 23 out, so it's not horrible for January here, AND I'm in the house which should be the same temperature, anyway!

My car is filthy. I'm afraid if I wash it the doors will freeze up.

Lost starts tonight. Anyone else excited?

I was caught up on the reruns on Sci-Fi. Now I'll have to watch it on the internet when they post them.


Mel - I think it was you that watches 'Housewives of OC'. I caught an episode the other day. They treat that one new girl (Gretchin/Bridget?)terrible. I know she's a bimbo, but I thought they were all buds. That Vicki would get on my nerves real quick.

Finished reading Twilight yesterday. Now I can tell you that I still think the movie was darn good.

I am thinking of calling my Aunt to see if she would like a visit on Saturday. I need to give her some pictures she wanted from the anniversary trip to WDW. She usually wants to go to lunch or dinner. Trouble is my old stomping grounds have limited choices for restaurants. Ah small town life!

I've been letting Doug know that Valentines Day is coming. I took off work that night. HINT, HINT. We'll see what he comes up with. I'll be baking him his favorite cherry cake with cherry icing. Which I can not touch!

Hi Kristel! I do watch that show. I just watched Tues's episode last night. It sort of bugs me that they've all gotten so mean. They used to be sort of stuck up and funny but now they're just mean. I'd have punched Vickie out ages ago!

Thanks to everyone about the appt. I felt like a total bimbo. Well, we get to do it all over again today. I don't mind too much since I don't have other things going on, but if I did it could have been a real disaster.

Weird sleeping again. Guess I just need to get to FL and Bob to get some sleep! He's finished in NC today, and then flying to Tampa to see his folks. He gets two days to enjoy the sun before I get there. (And BONUS! I don't have to visit the in-laws and their psychotic chihuahua!)

This morning is "Mornings with Mom" at Gus' school. We go in at 8:15 (1/2 hr early) and we have bagels and donuts with coffee and juice before school. It's a sweet thing to do with the kiddos. Gus is so excited. Then I plan on getting a pedicure and then home.
SD is staying after to do some Geometry and hopefully get ahead before our trip. His teacher is concerned so hopefully this will help.

The December trip is our family trip, the September one would be me on my own, all the Moms from 2008 and 2009 panel are meeting up, it'll be at my own expense though so we'll see!

So who's read the "Shopaholic" series by Sphie Kinsella?? I tried, and I just could not get into the first one. So I'm swapping it back with paperbackswap. I'm working on the first Stephani Plum book now, and I like it after 5 pages.

That's too bad, I LOVE the Shopaholic series, the movie looks like total carp though and will probably be nothing like the books at all.

Has tourism peaked a little though with the Super Bowl coming to town soon?

That's the hope, but I don't think it'll affect a whole lot in Pinellas. I am noticing a lot more out of state plates this year, though - seems like more folks are driving instead of flying.

Disney should start with being kinder to their CA and FL residents for starters. That might help a lot because more and more residents are looking at local places to vacation as opposed to abroad because it's usually cheaper.

I've gotta say, as a marketing professional, it's KILLING me that WDW never releases numbers! I really, really want to know what they're thinking; we know they only make moves expected to positively impact the bottom line and I just don't see how ignoring the local market is doing that.

We're FROZEN!!! Really, everything was covered in frost this morning - roofs, grass, trees, cars. It's so weird!

And.

COLD. No one's turning on the heat at work, so I'm under about 4 layers of sweaters, wraps and coats. At least up north things are properly heated when it's cold out.

You're right about that. We have the heat on as soon as it gets to 65 outside! Stay warm.

I'm home from Mornings with mom. Very nice. I hate to see all the moms chatting with each other though. I saw one little boy sitting all alone eating his donut while his mom yakked with her friends across the cafeteria. She didn't even sit down!!! OMGosh. Just breaks my heart.

Then I came home and ATTEMPTED to remove the 1 and 1/2 foot high x 4 feet deep pile of HARD ICY snow that they plowed into the bottom of my drive way. It was unreal. I even got the snowblower out and tried chopping it into chunks with the shovel and then blowing them. I got the pile down to about a foot high and about a foot deep. I can at least drive over it now. I hate winter.
Have I mentioned that?

Now I'm off to get a pedicure. And I earned it.

Jen- I hope Jon's doing better today.

I'm not sure what we have going on here. C, B and I have all gotten nasty headaches the last two days, and have had more crud than normal. I've specifically been watching C a few days wondering if she was getting sick. About t1 this am she came to my room crying because her head hurt so bad and she had a high fever.

I'm thinking about going to get some Mucinex to make sure the crud keeps moving out. I need coffee too since I was up for a couple of hours last night. Right after I got Camryn calmed down and asleep in my bed, Aiden woke up with leg cramps crying and howling.

I hope today is uneventful.
