BTW anyone with an easy Mom's Panel question ask away

Oh so now you want questions... :rolleyes: :rotfl:

G
Z- Have fun at game night! I think now the inauguration is over; we can hopefully get the gov't moving forward on the people's business rather than show business. Congrats on the single digit dance!

Thanks! And I agree on the gov't thing.
This time next week I'll be in WDW!!!!!!!!! :hyper:

Our computer went out and I was without it for a day. I did have my phone, so was able to keep up with email, but DISing on a 2 inch screen is not fun.

Yeah, the DIS doesn't come out too well on a phone. :sad2:

T said:

WALDO IS RETURNING TO WDW WITH US IN AUGUST!!!:scared:
Yup, he done drank the Kool-Aid!!!

:cool1: :rotfl2: I knew he wouldn't be able to resist. Especially after your stay at SSR ;) Hope all his tests come out good.

Hi T! Guess what??? I'm leaving for DLR in less than 30 hours!!!!!!

:jumping1:

Once again a drive by as I am tired and have been at the emergency room since about 6:30.

:grouphug: to you all!

Do you really like Nana's Dr that much? My advice to when people are having problems with their Dr's is....Get a new Dr that will meet your needs. From working in a hospital I've heard so many stories from people and their run arounds with their Dr's. When I had difficulty with my Primary Dr I decided she is not meeting my needs and went and got myself a Dr that did meet them and have been happy since. A lot of Dr's nowadays run their practices like a business and yes sometimes the insurance companies force it to be that way, but if you can find a Dr who's willing to work with you and the insurance company to meet your or your family's needs than so be it; we demand companies to meet our needs/expectations we should do the same with Dr's because they're playing with our health and that's so much more important.
::::stepping off my soapbox::: :blush:

Yep we're staying at GF from 12th to 22nd December And yep it's for legal reasons!

Excuse me!! Is this for this year!!! Is this a Business trip for the Mom's Panel? OMG!! Yay!!!

So can I say.....AGAIN! :faint:

LY/MI Jo! :hug:

And we are home from the hospital.

:grouphug: to you all and sending :goodvibes to Meeksa.

I had my second photography class this morning. How did I not realize there is so much math involved? So far all he's done is talk, so I'm hoping when we get to application, I'll get it.

Ugh! If it's anything like my film class I had to take, it drove me crazy all the light reading/measuring stuff and film speed and blah blah blah. :sad2:

Of course Did you hear I may come for the 5K in September?

This September!! :faint:

Hee hee!! :p

I'm not sure there's a whole lot else to do beyond reduce the number of employed staff. I can't even tell you how badly tourism's taking a hit down here; numbers are way, way, WAY down. Fewer visitors = fewer people needed to serve them. It's not just Disney - Busch Gardens, the beaches, St. Petersburg - we're all taking a hit and unemployment is going up each day. :sad1:

::yes::
Has tourism peaked a little though with the Super Bowl coming to town soon?

I think every business is taking a hit. They cut hours at the hospital last year and got on everyone's back if they stayed too long. Plus we usually were short staffed as opposed to calling someone in to work OT. And they cancelled a lot of retreats for managers and supervisors and a lot of job openings. And gotten more on our backs to get the patients to pay their co-pays and deductibles. They've even turned people away for elective procedures if they haven't paid their co-pays or deductibles. Times are tough everywhere.

Disney should start with being kinder to their CA and FL residents for starters. That might help a lot because more and more residents are looking at local places to vacation as opposed to abroad because it's usually cheaper. ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So nothing new with me.
Game night got cancelled last night. My friend who's house we were supposed to have it at completely forgot about it. Yani and I kept texting and calling him and he was ignoring us. So I told Yani I had a feeling he was going to cancel and she's like well let's go watch a movie then.
So we ended up going to watch My Bloody Valentine :3dglasses In 3-D too.
It was ok, typical horror/slasher movie. I liked it because it had my hunny from Supernatural in it, Jensen Ackles. Mmmmmmmm :love:
Then I got called in to work and did that the rest of the night.
JenJen- Hugs to Jon! I hope the poor guys gets better.
T- Of course Waldo is coming. No way could he miss a sequel.
Jo- Those cakes are COOL! How much are they?
-------------------------------
I think Disney should stop forgetting about us Regulars!!!!!!::yes::
My ball isn't working. Mouse ball that is girls. :thumbsup2
I think I am semi caught up. I had a day and a half from you know where. Crazy busy running from activity to activity. I left the house yesterday at 8, returned at 11:30 last night! :scared: Woke up and ran until 2, came home for 1 hour and went back out to get DS at school. I am back and EXHAUSTED!
Lost starts tonight. Anyone else excited?
Margie- :grouphug: :grouphug: (where did the 2 people hug go? )
Mel- I am sort of the same way with sleep..if KC is out i just can't get good sleep until he's back. Just think in only a few more days you'll have double good sleep- NotBob & Disney!
Janet- LOL. KC could care less where we stay in AC. I just HAVE to get a decent deal! I wish I could find a place with a jetted tub for cheaper, it is our anniversary getaway after all! But it's looking like Ceasar's, Bally's or Trump Plaza (since they are all centrally located)
Jen- :grouphug: for you, Jon & Meeska!!!!
:wave2: HI :wave2: To everyone else I may have missed.
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
I feel pretty icky today. LAst nigth KC said to me "I think I'm getting sick" this after he told me his boss has walking pneumonia, the guy who sites right behind KC and coughs in his direction....he had to say all that right?? I feel like poo today. it's starting but I refuse to let it get me. Vitamin C here I come!
I'm taking it easy today so I can kick the sicks a$$. Making some grilled cheeses for dinner, something easy since I feel lazy.
So who's read the "Shopaholic" series by Sphie Kinsella?? I tried, and I just could not get into the first one. So I'm swapping it back with paperbackswap. I'm working on the first Stephani Plum book now, and I like it after 5 pages.
I'm sure i'll pop in and out today. Have a good one!
JMO, but I found I liked them a lot more after I read the second one (when she goes to NYC). Might have something to do with me going "ooh, Sephora! I can get this!" though. ;)
They are all great places. I have stayed at them all. I like Bally's Wild Wild West theme of the three the best though.:thumbsup2
I wonder if they will do some of things like after 911? Didn't they close POFQ? Hey maybe they should stop sending all that stuff to Jo! Just kidding Jo!!!! LY/MI:flower3:
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
THat's why the second phase of Pop Century was never finished:sad2:
::::stepping off my soapbox::: :blush:
Step on that soapbox all you want. I completely agree. We are in the process of finding Jimmy a new pediatrican. THe practice was bought out by a company and the doctors we liked all left:sad2:
I think Disney should stop forgetting about us Regulars!!!!!!::yes::
ITA ::yes::
My ball isn't working. Mouse ball that is girls. :thumbsup2
Suuuure:rolleyes: :rotfl:
Now I'm the dental floss killer! :rotfl:
:lmao:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Evening all. Home from work. Everyone is fed. Made ribs in the crockpot - YUM and Jim did all the side stuff so everything was ready when I got home:thumbsup2
Jim and Jimmy are now playing Martian Matter Alien Maker and I thought I'd check in with my Focker friends.
Not much planned for tonight. Top Chef is on tonight so I will watch that, but other than that not much planned!:thumbsup2
And we are back from round #2 at the hospital.
The day is over. Thank goodness.
Sorry. Can't catch up. Just :hug: all around.
I did read everything. :hug: to whoever has a need!
Well, you guys will love this. I got SD from school, ran home, picked up Gus early and we flew down the highway to our appt. Made it with 2 mins. to spare!
And, she comes out and says: "Your appt. is tomorrow at 4. Not today."
OMG!!! So, we drove all the way down there for NOTHING. We have to go back tomorrow, because seeing her is a condition of his treatment (meds). Grrr. Oh well. I actually laughed about it when we left. I told the boys it was a "practice run." LOL.
So, they had Subway for dinner and then I went to Parent Teacher Conf. at the H.S. That went well. All of SD's teachers are happy with his work (except Geometery, who said he needs to do his homework more regularly) They all said that he shouldn't have any trouble catching up after his vacation! One teacher said that he wasn't going to give him any work at all because he has an A in his class and he wants him to have FUN on vacation! I love that teacher!!!
So, now I'm home and doing laundry. I have to go eat my sandwich now.
LY all.
Try the audio book. I loved it! The movie previews look terrible however. I hate when they change a book set in another country, ala PS I love you & Ireland, to America. Part of the plot is the country. :headache:
and dad only really works when there is an event at Wide World of Sports (he's going to be 79 in November:goodvibes ).
I'll have to look him up. We have season ticktes for the Braves' spring training. :goodvibes
ABsolutely. When he gets his schedule I will let you know what games he is working. That is one of his favorite events, especially if the Phillies come in for a game.:thumbsup2 He also likes the college cheerleaders:rolleyes:
Margie- :grouphug: :grouphug: (where did the 2 people hug go? )
Just type : hug : (without the spaces, of course) and you can get it. Or, it's on the more smilies option. ;)
I didn't like that book at all, but I enjoyed two of her stand-alones, "Remember Me" and "Can You Keep a Secret." I just thought Becky was too dumb, not ditsy fun like Bridget Jones. But then, I love Bridget and it might not be fair to compare.
I loved the Stephanie Plum books up to about #10. The reviews on the latest are abysmal on amazon.com, and I am not sure I'll be reading it. Definitely not buying it, but I may try the library or paperbackswap.
So sorry, honey. I hope you get some rest. :hug:
That's great!
****************************************************
I get a "recipe of the day" every day from Real Simple (love that magazine.) I save any that look appealing, but then very rarely go through and find stuff before heading to the store. I did today, though, and had a super easy and super good salmon.
1 1/2 T. chili powder
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 tsp. salt
1 T. olive oil.
1 1/2 pounds skinless salmon filets, chicken breasts, or pork chops, split into fours.
Mix the chili powder, oregano and salt in a bowl, rub it on the meat. Saute the meat in the olive oil over medium heat, reducing the heat if the spices begin to blacken. Cook through.
That's it, and it was delish! I was afraid for a bit that the chili powder might be too spicy for the kids, but it wasn't hot, just flavorful. :thumbsup2
We had rice pilaf and salad, and the kids ate it right up. :)
Now we've just been messing, D's still not happy with the TV adjustments, I've been looking for a better dry erase calendar/corkboard for my kitchen. I got one at Target last year, but it's cheap and kind of falling apart already. :rolleyes2 I love the "system" at Pottery Barn, but it's both expensive and too big.
Hope y'all are having a good night. :grouphug:
