Team Focker Watch, Part 12. Have we jumped the shark yet?

Hey lookie lookie, I am here 2 days in row, I'm mentally and physically fried.

V- so sorry, hope you are ok.

With all my complaining, I know I'm lucky to have a paycheck and benefits. I do like the work, I like it a lot, just wish there was a bit less. My director did say he would be reshuffling clients and take one of the big hitters off my plate, so hopefully that will happen soon. The good news/bad news, we are still signing new clients so my plate will fill up again. I think he is moving older clients around so I can be freed up to implement the new ones. Let's just say not all managers are created equally...

Anyhow, just stopping by to say hi!

Sorry to drop a bomb and leave - it's been one of those days.

But I really don't know anything, either. We're looking at massive, massive budget cuts, and we'd already cut all that could be last year. So there will for sure be job cuts and program cuts, maybe furloughs, maybe pay cuts. When no one knows for sure what's coming, everyone gets hyper-aware of what one another's doing, KWIM? It does NOT make for a comfortable workplace. :headache:

I had a decent birthday yesterday; took the day off and relaxed at home. It wound up too chilly and windy for the beach. Leo gave me a lovely scarf and we all had cake. :goodvibes

:grouphug:

Oh, V. So not what you want to hear, but especially on your birthday. Cake and a scarf make for a lovely birthday though. :goodvibes

Just a quickie hello on my way out.

I am NYC bound.

Gonna go buy some sexy heels for my vow renewal outfit and prob something for the vow renewal night *wink wink*. Meeting up with Pants for a while to go over the ceremony details (He is getting ordained to re-marry us) and then headed to keep KC company on his late shift for the evening.

I'll be back tomorrow!

++++++++++++++++++++++

Another hour before I can go home, but I have decided that I am taking off on Friday. We hve the guy to install the sateliite dish coming on Saturday so I want to make sure everything is ready for that. I will be without cable for 2 days, but I think we will live;)

Am getting a little frustrated with Scouts now though. The Pinewood Derby in on Saturday and we just got an email that the Regional COuncil People are going to be ther looking for donations. Um, excuse me we gave you $35 (x2) for registration fees and then our pack sold almost $40K worth of popcorn, sorry I am not giving you more money. Is that cheap????

Kat, have fun. :goodvibes

Janet, I don't think you're being cheap, but of course not having kids, I don't know what is expected. Is the money needed for something in particular, or are they just passing the hat?

Is that cheap????

Nope. Sorry, though.

Ugh. I tried to nap, but apparently it was "everybody call CE" hour. D, then my mom, then Tara, then my mom again (because, you know, maybe I was cleaning and didn't hear the phone :headache:) and then some random survey or something. I didn't pick up any of them except D and then my mom the second time to say, "I'm sleeping, I'll call you back."

But then my nap was pointless, so I went and took the ski club passes to school (we wind up with them at home since D usually drives the boys back, plus we had a chaperon pass), the "hat" books back to the town library, and made the grocery run. D's mom called sometime in there whilst I was out, and she is appropriately understanding of my situation, feeling a little bad for coming. I truly don't mind, but the timing is too bad.

Anyway, since then I've been either on the computer or beginning to vacuum, until the kids came home and we worked on some homework. I need to finish vacuuming and then get the steamer out :lovestruc :rotfl: but there's still more than enough time for that. :thumbsup2

CE--
thanks! I'll tell her about the racket--no pro though--she wants to play at school--may be interesting....a little concerning that I hear the new tennis coach is "hot".....

Seems to be just passing the hat...here is the email that was sent

On Saturday, January 30, 2010 a representative from Cradle of Liberty Council will attend the Pinewood Derby to do the annual Friends of Scouting appeal. Families will be asked to donate directly to Cradle of Liberty Council and we hope that we can get participation from 100% of the families of our Scouts. As you may know Cradle of Liberty relies on support from the community and especially from you to maintain its large operating budget. You can give a cash donation, write a check or put a pledge on your credit card.
You can be billed throughout the year, if you so choose. This year the Council is offering a small gift for every family that donates at any level and a beautiful patch for any $130 paid donations. :scared1:

Thank you for your support of Scouting. I look forward to seeing you in attendance.

Nope. Sorry, though.

Thanks!

You are starting to concern me about his infatuation with the steamer:lmao:

a little concerning that I hear the new tennis coach is "hot".....

:rotfl2:

 Yours does that too?

I know she was concerned because she knows I'm sick, but then wouldn't that lead to "leave her be"? :confused3 Apparently not. :rotfl:

Excellent. :rotfl2:

You know you want that patch. :rotfl: $130.00?! Crazy. I might give $10 or $20 or if you feel like nothing, then nothing. :thumbsup2

Sorry Fockers,
Gotta post then run.

My heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones. To those that are sick, a get well wish. To those with their jobs in the blender, best of luck.

I was out all day yesterday with Doug. I had only gotten 3 hrs sleep the night before. Too much on my mind.

We did find some shoes for Doug, not at the mall, at Walmart, go figure. There was only one pair in the whole mall that had the velcro and looked like a tennis shoe - $98!:scared1: NOT! Got my hair cut. Got the insurance on the new/used car. Went to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch - been payin' for that for the last 24hrs. Then to Walmart.

When we got back home there was a message on the machine. They wanted me to come to work. I think I told all of you before that we have a guy on the opposite shift who is having leg problems. So he pretty much calls in randomly. I was so wiped out I told them no-way for last night. However, I am leaving in just a few to work tonight. Plus this guy has decided he wants off on the 31st too. So you won't see much of me for about a week. It's good money but I don't like working the 12hrs all the time.

 all around!

Hi, Kristel! :wave2: Have fun at work.

***********************************************
Man.

Did some more vacuuming around the kids (so as not to keep/wake them up) and also got them through all the homework, haircuts, and showers, and dessert... Still haven't steamed, but I did want to make sure they were asleep before I started that as it can get loud. They generally can sleep THROUGH anything, but won't FALL asleep through noise. :thumbsup2

I opened wine anyway. I know it's not the weekend, but truly it's medicinal at this point. :rotfl2: Quiets the cough, helps me sleep... Hey, I'll use it. ;)

Then, MIL called and the flight that I'd checked on about an hour before it was to leave - and it looked fine then - is now not even scheduled to take off for over another hour (it was supposed to leave about an hour ago) and now their estimated arrival time is 12:29. :scared: Our airport isn't quite tiny - remember where I grew up, though ;) - but I was a little concerned about the availability of cabs at that hour in a smallish airport. Even if they come when flights are scheduled in, at this stage I bet most of the people on the flight now need a cab. So, I've just called and arranged a car for them. Good deal, too - a Town Car for $35. D often pays $40 when he has to come home in a cab, so we're pleased! No charge for an extra person, either. :thumbsup2

Anyway, she's telling me over and over to just go to bed, and since they probably won't actually be at the house until 1:00, I may just do that, though I feel bad. We'll see. Maybe if I steam, then doze on the couch, that would work. :thumbsup2

I asked my tennis friend to play the fun class for me tomorrow - I had planned on going and dragging the ILs to the gym (they like it, it's fine) but with the dread disease, I think I should probably not go. So, the morning is clear - maybe we'll get the kids on the bus and go out for breakfast!

Have a good night, all! :grouphug:

How could you get rid of your new dog? :rotfl:

:
:rotfl2:

I know I am such a HORRID person:lmao: She really is a cutie though, but 3 dogs is TOOOOOOO much!!

Just a quickie hello on my way out.

Nice plans:cloud9:

I am celebrating the EVIL one is moving on the 2nd :banana::banana: I spent hours on the phone doing what her service coordinator should have done !!! I got her a bed, a kitchen table and chairs , lamps a microwave and pictures all for free and wheeler and dealed to get her a mover at a cheap rate !!! But it was time WELL spent !! My Boss sat there rolling:rotfl::rotfl: as I made phone call after phone call !!! She particularly liked me lying to the movers about my lowest quote !!!:lmao: Hey it worked !!!!

Hello from KC's job. I took over the desk next to his and have been on his netbook all night. Its the longest i have been on a computer in a long time, but there aint nuttin else to do! I ended up shoe shopping and finding nothing so I ordered some Jacklyn Smith shoes from Kmart online. I tried on the shoes I ordered, liked them, but they didnt have black, just brown. Turns out they have a 20% off sale and I got them for just $3 more than the store price even tho i shipped them! They just better arrive on time. Saw Pants (Andy) for a while in Borders. I also bought me a purdy purple lacey number for the night of our anniversary, it is currently stashed in my purse so KC doesnt see it. ;)

And he made ressies for our anniversary night and won't tell me where. Its good and bad. I have to learn to like surprises, but the planner in me is stressed about it. :confused3

We are outta here in a half hour, and thats good because I am TIRED.

Night everyone!

WHAT :faint: OMG that's so much money especially at the moment :sad2: You guys are definitely expected to donate far more than we are. OK don't hate me but I doubt I even give $10 per year to charity (not including school fayres etc)

a little concerning that I hear the new tennis coach is "hot".....
:rotfl2:

It's good money but I don't like working the 12hrs all the time.
Get lots of rest Kristel

What time did they turn up? Hope you have a great breakfast :goodvibes

Sounds fun and let him surprise you :goodvibes

The golf lady phoned last night and apologised, she was about a mile from her home when she got the flat and couldn't get the bolts off so walked home. She offered me the match but being the nice girl I am I declined, we still have 3 weeks left to play it and it's not like she got the flat on purpose! I'd better win though :rotfl2:

Boo had her first trip to the vets today for her first shot. She was very good and he said she's very healthy :thumbsup2 She has 1 more shot in 3 weeks then the following week can be neutered then about 2 weeks later can finally go outside. She'll be so excited :rotfl2: Although she didn't like the look of the woodpecker on our lawn earlier!!!
