They didn't listen Jo !!! :rotfl2:It begins with an F and is the same as the slang for cigarette in Enland with a GOTS on the end !!
OMG Rosie I was thinking why on earth are they censoring haggis but now realise you mean those little ball things. They're still called Brain's F's so I never ever wanted to try them as I thought they were made with brains :rotfl2:

The outside Christmas decorations are FINALLY down. If we didn't get them done today Jim threatened to paint the snowmen red and leave them up for valentines day:lmao:
:rotfl2:

Jimmy has half days tomorrow and Tuesday so the teachers can have 2 half days of professional development. Wouldn't it just be easier to give the kids off one whole day:confused3
Yes it would, that's just daft :sad2:

Thanks! You're officially the Un-Disney Mom. :lmao:;)
:rotfl2:

OMG, what's wrong with it? Send her here, I'll fix it. :thumbsup2
It was just a bit shorter than she wanted and then I didn't help because I wasn't sure it was straight and even :rotfl2:

:sick: I'd be happy with just bacon and eggs.
Our sausages are sooooo different to yours, we actually use meat ;):rotfl2:

Let me guess.... you're installing the hearth, right? ;)
Well actually no, I'm having a solid slate one and even I know it'll be too hard and heavy for me to do it :rotfl2: However we need a new bath mixer tap and I so want to try and fix that but no it'll be too hard, maybe I need to go to DIY school :rotfl2:

ESPN was requiring a minimum of $10 per hour, per person, so we had a quick lunch and hit up the cupcake store and came home. It was so nice to get out and walk around. :cloud9:
Yikes, do they often do that? $10 for the kids too?!?!?!?

Anyway I'm off to beddie byes :wave2:

Hi All!!

OMG it's been forever since I've been on, I'm sorry I really don't get on the computer much and when I do, I do a quick FB check and check/delete my e-mail.
:surfweb:
I'm just so tired at looking at the computer at work all day that I don't feel like staring much at it when I get home.

Anyway, just checking in to say Hi and wishing I had internet access at work so I could keep up here more whenever I get bored there.

T I got Maddie's e-mail....uh how do I pay you? Funny I was at the grocery store the other day and saw some Girl Scouts and thought of you and Maddie wondering if you were selling cookies too...what a kawinkidink!

Sorry for the drive by....TTYL!! :grouphug:

Hi, guys! I read everything last night, but was too tired to comment. We wound up having a rushed couple of days.

Saturday was fine until about noon, when the boys had tennis. D was starting laundry for his trip today (back Thursday). After b-ball, we quick stopped back at home to change the laundry, then went out and bought the roof rails/ski box thing we were debating all week. By the time that was done and installed ('cause it's too big to bring home if it's not up top... :rotfl:) we were going to be late showering and stuff for the sitter, so I had to call and back her up, then rush to shower, get the kids' dinner ready, etc.

We skedaddled to Sherlock Holmes (fun!) and then to dinner, but we weren't out late because we were doing the all-day ski yesterday, which required leaving the house by 7:30.

We had a lovely ski day - warm, and nice enough snow - but then Woody proceeds to inform us that the "student of the week" thing where the instructions say "Answer these questions, cut them out (they were shapes), and bring them in to make a poster" was incorrect and that the poster should be made at home. :rolleyes: I called my neighbor who has all this kind of thing, usually, and she gave me a posterboard when we got home, which saved me a trip to Target after dinner.

Nonetheless, it was late, so Woody is doing that now and I'm going to have to drive them in this morning. No biggie - and we slept in an extra 10 minutes. But, it's felt hectic around here since Saturday at about 4:00. :headache:

It's supposed to more or less be a torrential downpour this afternoon - we're under major flood warnings, as the snow melt plus the rain won't be good. It's already 36 and supposed to maybe hit 50. :eek: Good thing we got skiing in yesterday, because while it's supposed to cool back down later in the week, there's no snow in the forecast. (Secretly, fine with me, but D's sad... :rotfl2:)

Then, MIL finally did call back and they are coming Wed. night at 10:15. :rolleyes: Because, of course, D told her we'd be more or less home until Feb. vacation, but she didn't check, so she didn't know D wouldn't be here until late Thursday. I can't pick her up at that time if he's not here. Sigh. But, it will work out. They have to be back for something on Sunday, so they're leaving Sat. at 5:00 p.m. - short visit. :confused3

I have a ridiculous cough and no voice, which is also fun. I'm supposed to play a tennis match tomorrow - I'm going to drills today to see how it goes. If it doesn't go well, I may need to get someone else to do it, but I want to play.

Sorry, that's long-winded since I've not been here. :lmao:

It's time to get myself together so I can get them to school. Have a good start, everyone! :grouphug:

Your email got kicked back... I have your comcast email addy. :confused3

Hotmail. We dropped verizon. Same first part of the email.

Nope, Waldo and TE are officially out. BUT they are coming with us for Christmas next year. :thumbsup2

Sounds good!:goodvibes

Well, with all the rain, we've been cooped up in the house, so we hit Disneyland today. It was wonderful weather... the sun was nice and warm. The crowds were low until around noon. We got there around 9:30 and rode Space, Matterhorn, Buzz, BTMRR, Pirates, & Casey Jr. before noon and headed to ESPN Zone for some lunch and football. ESPN was requiring a minimum of $10 per hour, per person, so we had a quick lunch and hit up the cupcake store and came home. It was so nice to get out and walk around. :cloud9:

Sounds like a great day but $10/hour:scared1:

:scared:

Hi, guys! I read everything last night, but was too tired to comment. We wound up having a rushed couple of days.

Sounds like it. Hope you get to relax today!

===============

Good Morning. It is torrential rain today. This the remnants of what T had, but it's out of here tonight. On the plus side it was 57 when I left the house this morning and it is going up to 65:thumbsup2 Of course it's dropping into the 20's overnight and the highs will be in the 40's tomorrow:rolleyes:

Have been here at work since 7:30. Jimmy has an OT appointment at 4:45 so I will leave early to go pick him up and take hime there.

Hope everyone has a good day. Will check back later:goodvibes

Apparently we're all getting rain this morning. ;) The NOAA alert went off for the first time at 5.00 this morning. :rolleyes: At least it was only twice, unlike Saturday morning.

Mitch thinks he might be able to leave Saturday instead of Sunday which will be nice, but I really must get things done this week then. Luckily I keep the house mostly tidy so it's not too much work. Saturday night I thought I would meet my friends at a restaurant, but as they were on their way Amy said she wanted to see the house. :scared1: So I'm running around like a wild woman making the bed, since the cats had been in it most of the day, and washing some dishes.

The smileys have been rearranged again. :rolleyes:

That's great! :goodvibes

Sometime before Wed. night, I'll have to work on this house, too. I've been sweeping the hard floors a lot and the bathrooms are in great shape, but we're cluttered again. ;)

Hi Z, hope you're well :goodvibes

Hi, guys! I read everything last night, but was too tired to comment. We wound up having a rushed couple of days.
:faint: Hope this week is a bit quieter, well until the inlaws come anyway!!!

How long for?

Well we don't have rain but it is all grey and yucky :sad2: We went and bought a slate hearth today and they're going to fit it next Wednesday. We then looked at some cars as our contract runs out in about 6 weeks, we've decided to get the next model up a Peugeot 308 but we're sticking with black, we just didn't like the other colours as much :confused3:rotfl2:

I have golf 3 of the next 4 days and it's freezing and not meant to warm up at all. Guess I'll have to play fast :rotfl:

Again sorry to get on my high horse but I hate to hear people are paying for things that could have been fixed by KC or for free, esp. my friends who i can help out.
Thanks Kat, but I don't get to make that choice - it's a work computer, so the work IT folks are the only ones allowed to service it. Likewise, I don't have any choice about anti-virus, etc.

Just booked another trip to Center Parcs (where we're going for Christmas it's an activity village with a water park) we're going for a 4 day weekend in October and have chosen the Sherwood Forest one so we'll be on the hunt for the Sheriff of Nottingham ;)
These sound fun! :thumbsup2

Well, the Girl Scout cookie madness has begun. I had Maddie send out emails to most of you, but I don't want anyone to feel obligated to buy. I do want to help her reach her goal, but don't want to be that pushy "cookie mom", KWIM? I made her type it up and I agreed to send it out. Poor girl, took her 30 minutes to type 5 lines.
:rotfl: She (and you) did a great job! :thumbsup2
Anyway, we finally got our summer trip all booked.
:cool1::woohoo::banana:

Yesterday I was feeling sorry for myself, I hate that it just comes on out of nowhere :headache:, so a friend and I went to lunch and shopping. :goodvibes Of course I felt much better after that.
We all have those times; I'm glad you feel better! :hug:

I have a ridiculous cough and no voice, which is also fun.
Ugh, feel better and don't push too hard CE! :hug:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morning! I had a productive, but not entirely relaxing, weekend. Got the car's oil changed and tires rotated Sat., and then went for a walk on the beach with Leo... who spent the entire 40 minutes asking "Are we done? Can we go now?" :headache: Yesterday was bathroom cleaning and laundry, followed by a trip to the bookstore (Leo's outgrown a lot of his collection) and Target for bookcases. Spent the evening putting the bookcases together and then fell into bed.
So far, a "fun" morning at work... we're looking at MAJOR budget cuts again. We were told "no more layoffs" after last year's 200+ jobs were cut - but we have a $40mil shortfall estimated this year, so it's not looking good. Yay, another year of stress in the office. :sad2:
:faint: Hope this week is a bit quieter, well until the inlaws come anyway!!!
Yeah. It's not looking good, though. :rolleyes:
There you go - go by time, not strokes! ;) Fastest in, wins! :rotfl:
I turned down a tennis this morning because I don't want to overdo. I am seriously thinking of getting a sub for tomorrow - I just think that once I start running around, the cough is going to sound like I'm hacking up a lung. I don't have a fever, but I'm wheezing and the cough... I don't know. I don't FEEL too bad, but I know I'm not 100%. Thanks!
Oh, no. :hug: I'm so sorry - I hate to think of you worrying all year.
:hug: Happy Monday.
I thought M would be back for 6 weeks, but now he's saying he has to work 2 weeks in a hospital as training for Kosovo. Depending where he finds to go, he may have to go back to Georgia, but he's going to ask over at Patrick Air Force Base near Cape Canaveral. Then he's supposed to go to Memphis the first weekend in March, unless, again he can go somewhere near here. :faint: Just go so you can come back. :rolleyes1
Morning... :goodvibes
I just wanted to check in. We had our first dance competition weekend and I'm so beat still. :rolleyes: The girls' teams did very well. Baylie's team took home 4 first place trophies and Camryn's took 2 first place and one second place trophy home. We were very happy with Baylie's solo scores also. She didn't place, but with 34 people in her category and her being one of the youngest, I didn't expect her to. We got a video with the judge's comments on it, though and that's going to be very helpful to her practice next competition. :cutie:
The only thing that was really bad is that my mom, whom we have seen or spoken to since the beginning of Nov. showed up Friday night. :mad: I have no idea how she could have gotten the details of where we were and what time Baylie danced. K and I were furious and the girls were really upset. They know she's not supposed to be around them and wasn't invited. Poor C said she was scared now because Gma knew she was doing something wrong by being there. That decision made it even mopre clear that she's not stable and shouldn't be aroud the kids. She was planning on coming back on Saturday until I called and told her off about coming. She said it was a public place and I could't stop her. :eek: I know everyone doesn't know the backstory or understand why I cut her off, but if your child was to be in the care of their dance teacher all day and a person who you felt was dangerous said they were going to be at the same place and there's nothing you could do about it, I'm sure you moms can understand why I was upset and scared. :sad1:
I'm just wondering if she's not all there anymore. She seems off. My cousin (who's my only family member left- but also lives in MI) says if that's true we shouldn't abandon her. I get what she's saying, but she's not here with small children who are bullied and scared by their own Gma, you know? :sad1:
Several of my friends have said I'm going to be sorry and that it's wrong to cut her off, but I can't understand how if I believe with everything that I am that I'm protecting them, that's wrong. She's never cared about protecting me and being kind to me. I won't let her hurt my children. I'm breaking the cycle and that can't be wrong, right? :sad1:
Sorry to be such a downer, but I'm bummed that I don't have the support of most of my firends or my one family member. I needed to get that out. :grouphug:
Oh, honey. :hug: I have a friend here in NH who had to completely cut off her MIL - who goes on and off her meds, so there definitely IS something medically wrong - and I understand. It's got to be so tough.
Even your own family can be "not good people" and to protect your kids, you have to do what you have to do. :hug: I know it's not something you did lightly or without thought, or to be petty. Take care of you. :hug:
I was talking to my mother about Mitch's sister, which you know he doesn't really talk too, and my grandmother piped up with "I would never let it get to that", in her condescending black and white way of seeing things. Both my sister and I were like you don't know the way she treated him, and for his sanity he can't talk to her. He knows, as do you, what's best for you and your family, and how dare my grandmother, or anyone, tell him what he should or shouldn't do about something she knows nothing about. Don't question his judgment. He knows what needs to do. Obviously this is a sore spot with me! :grouphug:
If you mother is starting to have mental problems, she could become dangerous and you're right to be concerned for your family. :hug: Maybe someone else in the family can see that she gets to a doctor to be tested and get the help she may need.
Sometimes Tough Love is just that !!! If she is a threat to YOUR kids then she doesn't belong around them !!! Kids have rights too (not many) but the right to who they want to be around is and should be one !!
Have you suggested she gets help??:confused3Of course she prolly doesn't think she needs it !! But it was a thought !!
You are doing what is best for your kids and that is never wrong !!!:grouphug:
