Team Focker Watch, Part 12. Have we jumped the shark yet?

Morning All !! Have Kyle home sick and Steph ,pretty much what I have a cold/cough!! So there go my plans for a relaxing morning:lmao: Steph will have to watch him when I go to work !! So watch the News for a Brutal Slaying of either a 7 year old boy or a 14 year old girl :lmao: Today is the House Chistmas Party I left ll the details in my staff's capable hands , I just feel bad I have that dang training and can't help with prep !!

Yep, both! Can't say enough about either of them. Leo did the cruise 2 years ago and loved it! His was the Albatross one at YC/BC. They followed a treasure map, ran into a "bad pirate", searched the shipwreck, found the buried treasure, and ate lunch.

I had tea with a friend in May 2008. Every single thing was delicious, from the tea, to the finger sandwiches, to an onion tart to the pastries. Service felt a little stresed; we weren't exactly rushed, but we chose not to be, y'know? Our server was one busy bee. But the ambience is terrific and you can just decide to take your time and go slow. :thumbsup2

Yep, got the phone call at 5:40 that school was canceled. It's coming down pretty good, too - but it's still supposed to switch to sleet and then rain. Woohoo. :sad2: :rotfl:

So, no tennis. :( Kids at home all day. :( :rotfl2: When it switches to rain, they won't want to be outside, so that's going to be fun. Luckily I did record Charlie Brown and the other holiday specials that were on, so we have some "fresh" stuff to watch.

Thankfully, D's here, so I am not on snowblower duty. :thumbsup2

And, hey, I did go back to sleep after the phone rang and got to sleep in. ;)

Did I tell you guys I booked a pirate cruise from the GF for C and A in March? I'm excited about it. :yay: The girls and I are also going to tea at the GF with Mel one evening too.
How fun! I've never done the cruise, but I do love tea. :thumbsup2

Maybe they will rest quietly and so can you. :goodvibes

Mitch tried to call his sister to tell her he was being deployed, and none of the numbers he had for her was working. Then he called his niece to find a good number and was told his sister changes her cell every few months. She also sold her house and moved in with a lady at work. Maybe something you'd want to tell the family? :confused3 It's good they don't speak often.

BTW, I do own closed toe shoes. I just don't like wearing them. :rolleyes1 I actually had to get out winter clothes to take too. ;)

Wow the book fair lady sounds like a disaster, I bet you're glad you're working tomorrow

::yes:::rotfl2:

Try out this site though---it's a lot of fun---if you can get your family line back to England (mine in 1600s), the records are actually better. They seemed to worry more about surviving than recording in the 1800s! Luckily my relatives went from England to NJ to Southwest VA so they are easier to find. England did some kind of Millenium research on people which is a lot easier to look at than the US stuff

WHen I have time I love to look and try and find that kind of stuff. I found a great, great, uncle who was living at the Surratt boarding house when the plan to kill Lincoln was devised (they never proved he was involved;)). I also traced my great, great, great grandfather back to County Mayo - Ireland!:thumbsup2

15cm = 6in -7C = 19F

Thanks:lmao:

Janet - That sucks about the book fair chair and volunteers.

And then they wonder they can't get people to volunteer for things!

Wow! Hopefully they'll have things pulled together tomorrow and you won't get phone calls. Was today the first day it started?

Monday was supposed to be the teacher preview so they could make up their wish lists. She didn't even have that ready:headache:

OK, you know how I was stressed that I wasn't doing a great job? Yeah, I'm WAY better than your lady. I feel so much better. :lmao: Sorry for your frustration, though. {

That's why I told them I have the perfect chairperson for the spring fair;):lmao:

Did I tell you guys I booked a pirate cruise from the GF for C and A in March? I'm excited about it. The girls and I are also going to tea at the GF with Mel one evening too. That will be nice. :cutie: I'm guessing the boys will got to DQ or to ride Characters in Flight while we do tea. I'm trying to do something special each trip for the girls/boys or all together.

Sounds fun:goodvibes

Yikes, already...nope too early for snow!:sad2:

I did go back to sleep after the phone rang and got to sleep in.

:thumbsup2

That's odd:confused:

Aww, poor thing:hug::laughing:

+++++++++++++++++++++

No phone calls about the registers yet this morning, so I am guessing the figured it out (doubtful:rolleyes:), are screwing everything up (probable :rolleyes1) or gave up and are using a calculator...if they could figue out how to use it:lmao:

Tonight is family night at the book fair, but with the weather (puring rain and flooding) I don't know how many people will venture out after dinner, KWIM?

At work, and gotta run. Just wanted to say hi :wave2:

I hope the boys enjoy the snow. ;)

::yes:: They're out having fun before it switches over. ;)

She also sold her house and moved in with a lady at work. Maybe something you'd want to tell the family? :confused3 It's good they don't speak often.

Strange.

BTW, I do own closed toe shoes.

Sure... :rotfl2:

I'm spending money, and it's barely even for Christmas. Sigh. First, amazon.com had a lightning deal on something Woody sort of wanted for Christmas, but it's an outdoor toy, so we were trying to convince him that he should ask for it for his birthday (end of April) instead. But it was nearly half off, so I ordered it - we'll see if I keep it for April or go ahead.

Then, we really, really need new house phones. Ours have been through one set of extra batteries, but are dying quickly again, have lost half the pixels on the displays, etc. But we use Vonage (which we love) so it's not as simple as just picking up new phones. When we first signed up, we got a package that has the thing to hook up to the modem/router and two handsets. They don't make just the handsets anymore (of course, why would they?) so we need the new modem attachment thing, too, then we now can buy "regular" phones. But, that means that we have to have a phone attached to the thing in the office, where we don't have one now, because the old system didn't require a phone plugged into the adapter attachment.

So, I need one with three handsets. I found a good deal on a set with excellent reviews at amazon.com, and I have a $10 gift cert for there from doing online surveys. They were also offering a pretty good deal on the new modem attachment dealies, but still. Spend, spend, spend. :sad2:

I still need presents for my mom and dad (I have one thing for dad, but that's not enough.) Haven't heard back from five of the six family drawing recipients, still need a little something more for Dr. Belle... Haven't got all the kids' stuff done... Sigh.

Dawn - I'd love to hear your review of the pirate cruise once you get back. When we go in September I was going to have Lindsey and DR go on that one. I also wanted to see about doing the Alice in Wonderland tea for them as well.

Rosie - Enjoy your party tonight and hopefully the kids will be good for ya!

CE - Enjoy your snow day. Sorry tennis was cancelled though.

Angela - :rotfl: to the shoes and clothes. Weird about Mitch's sister, but I get it. The ex's family is the same way and I lived with that for many years. It is kind of a good thing they don't talk much.

Janet - Glad you haven't gotten phone calls yet and hopefully it'll stay that way.

:wave2: Hi to anyone I missed!

*****************************************************

Nothing going on here today. I need to run to the store later on and I'm hoping to leave DR here. My Amazon order came in as well and can't open the box since it's Lindsey's Santa presents and I don't want DR to see. I need to find him something to keep him busy.

Other than that I got nothing. Hope y'all are enjoying your Wednesdays!

Oh, that's sad. One question, though - what's a horse charity?
It's a horse rescue centre that relies on donations make sense?

in the morning?

Yay :rotfl2:

Won my golf and found out that the lady who slipped yesterday broke her leg in 2 places and needs a plate  She lives on her own so this will be extra hard :sad2:

This keeps happening to me, too. ;)

He looks thrilled, :lmao: but I'm so glad he's home. He is walking the delicate line between waiting until it's mostly stopped to snowblow (so that of course it doesn't fill back in) and not wanting to snowblow if it does indeed turn icy/rainy as that's nearly impossible to get through the blower. The radar is starting to look like the rain may have headed to sea and we might not get much of it once the snow passes north. :thumbsup2 It's a lot of snow - D thinks 8 inches - but it's something we can deal with if there's not ice or sleet on top.

Sure, sort of an RSPCA for horses only and not government sponsored?

Aw, poor thing. Good job on the win! :goodvibes

Hey everyone! I finally feel like I have a little time to catch up with life today. I stayed home again, because I know if I went to work I would just hurt myself more, I need more hot bath soaking. KC stayed home today as well. So we cleaned up a little and now he's gaming and I am catching up here! My head cold is getting better too- both my ears even popped! I was so happy (since they hadn't popped since before our Disney vacation).

So I have so pics I have been meaning to share....

We put up the tree this past weekend and decorated the house.

The ornament s laid out before putting them on the tree...just a few huh? Notice how most of 'em are Disney.

And my coffee table decorations. (I plan to buy new stuff this year for the rest of the house)

The other big event that happened a little over a week ago was KC cut his hair! Of course I took pics because it was a sad day for me. I loved his hair, but it turned out really good!

The last look at the pony tail.

Me sad (also pre very needed haircut for myself)

He is donating his hair so they had to put it into little pony tails and we teased him and said he looked like the rapper Coolio.

The first snip.

A whole lotta hair lighter.

He loves it now he has hardly any maintenance. I got used to it quick and really like it. Originally he wanted to buzz his hair down to the scalp so I am very happy with this look, it's called a "faux-hawk" LOL.

Off to read up on everyone's threads and actually do an update on mine!

Kat- KC looks so handsome with his new hairs!

Hey- Does anyone have a first-hand review of the Spirit of Aloha Show? I'm thinking of booking it for our first night so we can relax and get our vacay started right! :thumbsup2

Won my golf and found out that the lady who slipped yesterday broke her leg in 2 places and needs a plate  She lives on her own so this will be extra hard :sad2:

Oh man! That is awful about the lady. Yay to you for the golf game though!

So CE, were you inside your house taking the picture of D or outside helping?

The tree looks great and so does CE! Hope you start feeling better soon.

Oh, I was inside. :rotfl2: Truthfully, when he's gone I'm totally fine taking care of it, but since he's here...:rolleyes1

The tree looks great and so does CE! Hope you start feeling better soon.

Why, thank you. :lmao: (I think you mean KC, but I'll take any compliment I can get. :rotfl2:)

**************************************************
Oh, the cursing and door slamming at our house this afternoon... :sad2:

D cleared off the back porch and steps with the shovel, as I showed. Then, he went to snowblow the rather long driveway, and got maybe one foot away from the garage when apparently a corroded bolt broke and some major thing fell off. He had gotten it out in October, well before any problems, to be sure it would work and didn't need weeks of repairs or anything ahead of time, being very prepared, but couldn't have anticipated this.

He is livid - it's just at 2 years old, he thinks it must have been made of carp materials for bolts to fall apart after only 2 years. We do have a 3-year fix OR replace warranty on it, but that wasn't going to help us move out of the 8 inches of snow we wound up with today.

He searched our house for bolts, couldn't find any the right size... Finally ended up at the neighbor's. They've given up on their blower, which is really old and wasn't working (hired a plow guy again) and so they gladly let him poach parts off theirs. He did get ours working and the driveway is nearly done, but he's still out there now in the near dark and it did start raining on him. :guilty: Poor guy.

Now I feel he's probably going to have to fight with Sears over the repairs. I believe that they say for these size ones, we're supposed to bring it in, rather than them coming here for repairs, and D says he's not messing with that. I can just imagine how that Customer Service call is going to go.

It is fairly ridiculous, though - I see his point. Obviously snowblowers are not going to be used in ideal conditions, and they should last more than two years. :sad2:

The neighbor kid just left. I think I'm making poppyseed chicken tonight, since I forgot to put the chicken & noodles in the crock pot. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: I've got about an hour before worrying about that, though.

I steamed the bathroom - fun! :rotfl: and have done some dishes and some laundry, but I've had a very lazy day. Oh, well.

I saw! :goodvibes I'll e-mail you a picture and her real name. ;)
OK :rotfl2:

So I have so pics I have been meaning to share....
KC's hair looks great, a whole new him :thumbsup2

Oh, the cursing and door slamming at our house this afternoon... :sad2:
Oh no :headache: how annoying and yes it should last more than 2 years! Glad you had fun steaming your bathroom :rotfl2:

My Dad went fishing today and look at what he caught!!!!

Cod.jpg

It's a cod and it bent his fishing rod :rotfl2: He's so pleased though and will really enjoy eating it!
