Speaking of which....did I tell u all about Ab and the pig??? (if so, read anyway, it's still funny!)

OMG:lmao:

All I can think of now is there was free bacon in the road.

:rotfl2:

WARNING VENT TIME:

What our Pack leader does is the boys are given the opportunity to turn it around, if they don't they are not permitted at the next meeting. ALmost like a time out. If the girls really want to be there, they will turn it around!:thumbsup2 If the parents don't agree, tell them to take over ::yes::

Cleaning day today, plus ironing and answering questions, that's if I can drag myself away from the laptop

Sounds exciting!

Tell Jimmy he is awesome! Great news from your doctor. Glad to hear your dad is doing well.

Thanks:goodvibes

My sister was spotting last week so she went to the doctor to make sure that everything is ok. It is, but she can't pick up Reid. :eek: He sort of understands that mommy doesn't feel well and can't pick him up, but he doesn't like it. My BIL is out tonight so she asked me to come over to help her get him ready for bed. She can't get him in the tub, has to change him on the floor and I'm not sure how she gets him up to the table. All these things you do without thinking. Not that I mind going over there.

Hope all is well with your sister!

Mitch is still in pain but didn't want to take any meds because he's filling prescriptions this morning. I certainly understand, but I hate that he doesn't feel well.

:hug: for Mitch

I think the running is going fine, but I think our sales are going to be low, low, low.

The economy is hurting everything CE:hug:

I just got off the phone with my co-chair, and she's MUCH better - but now her older DD is running a fever. I have to laugh, because the other option is crying...

:hug:

Not much going on here. Maddie's got a funky wet cough going on, no fever or anything, so I'm not sure what's going on with her. But we're home bound, just in case.

Hope she is feeling ok!

hey guys! sorry ive been MIA. I've gotten all caught up on the last few days, but theres just to much to quote on.

If you guys have seen on FB I've been doing pretty well in my classes this quarter. :cool1: Now I just have 2 papers to write, but it should be simple. Theyre less than 1000 words. One is on a recovery plan of manatees, and the other is similar but about a wetland. We have no school/work today so im planning on getting a start on those today.

Have a great wednesday!

Hi Sam! Great job on school!

Hey all! :wave: LONG day for us. We left the house at 7:30 for Jimmy's OT appointment. We were there until about 10:30, then we went to the diner for breakfast (for the boys) and lunch (for me). From there we hit 5 Below looking for some things for Cub SCout activities we had coming up. After that we went to Jimmy's peditrician appointsment (followup to the OT appointment). AFter that we hit Michaels, becasue 5 below didn't have what we were looking for. THEN...we had his med check appointment with the psychiatrist. Needless to say we are all exhausted :faint:

Thank goodness this week is almost over!:goodvibes

Hello everyone!
Working for a living is so much fun! pirate:

Your sis is lucky to have you close by to help. Poor Mitch

I decided on a separate post for my own stuff...

Loooong day yesterday. I got to school at 8:00 to start setting up. The problem is that I am in the all-purpose room, which is also used for lunch and by the after-school program, so when there are people in the building when I'm not, I have to put things away. The fair came with 10 "cases" that close up and latch, fully loaded, and I just have to put those against the wall, but around half the books have to be placed on display tables, on top of the cases, etc., and those get boxed up every evening, only to be pulled out in the morning.

So, I was trying to get all set for the first class to roll through at 9:30, but I did know they were doing a Veteran's Day assembly at 9:00. With the whole school attending (432 students) I assumed they'd be in the gym. But, they needed the projection screen for the Powerpoint presentation of family member vets (which is totally nice and awesome) but that meant it was in the APR. So I couldn't set up the display tables.

We rolled most of the cases into the hallway, put the books on top of them, then SUPER quickly piled books on the tables after the assembly (which they said would be 20 minutes and instead was 40) for the first class. I was supposed to have 2 more people helping me than showed up, all because of flu, so what can you do? I don't blame them, but it was harder.

We were able to move the cases back in the break between classes.

We had only the 3 classes in on Monday, but we had 6 yesterday. I had to leave at 11:30 for the tennis match. Last year's chair came and took over for me, thank goodness, and I did manage to cobble together enough people that she always had two more helpers (4 people are ideal, but...)

We had fun with the tennis, though we lost. The first set was very close, the second, we got blown out (oh well) but then I had to book it back to school.

One of my evening helpers was out due to sick kids, so we were kind of swamped for a bit during the p-t conferences, but it worked out. D & the boys stayed to help us break down. Normally, on the "late" nights where it's open for the conferences, you can even leave the tables up, as you're going to be the first people back in the school the next day, but with no school today, well... I should be able to leave it up tomorrow night.

I've not talked to my co-chair since Monday evening. She definitely has the flu - her DH is an internist, and he got her Tamiflu, so I don't know if she'll be good tomorrow or not. I have plenty of daytime coverage tomorrow, but without her, I think I'm alone from 3:00-6:00, which is not good. You really need someone on the cash box and someone to help find books and so forth in the APR (where the cash box isn't...) So, I probably need to try to scare someone else up for that. Sigh.

Plus, as I mentioned in the last post to someone, I think our sales are tanking. Having not done it before, I can't compare in my head, but last fall's sale did $9500 total (we don't keep that all, but still, that's the number I have...) and last spring's went down to $8800. As of last night, I'd done cash and check deposits only of about $2200. With only two more days to go, I can't see getting $6-7000 more. We do have 9 classes coming through tomorrow (all 4 kindergarten classes, plus two 4th grades are sharing a slot) so that's good, and then being open through the evening should help, where Monday was so not busy, comparatively, and Friday has at least 4 classes... So maybe we'll do better than half with half the days to go, if YKWIM, but still...

So now I'm beating myself up to think of what we could have done differently, but I think the answer is truly "nothing." We promoted as much or more than they did last year, the kids are excited about it, it's just that people aren't spending. Which I understand, but I feel bad, you know? I hate to be in charge of something that's not doing so well, even if it's not my fault.

D has to fly this afternoon into late tonight, and he took off for the gym, first, so he's gone. We're going out with friends on Saturday to celebrate our anniversary, which is today. I think I'll be celebrating the end of this week, too!

I'll be around - we have no plans today, and I'm just feeling still a bit crazed. I thought I'd feel better and less stressed after yesterday, but different things are popping up, like the sales, to stress me out now. Sigh. I want an easy day, but I'm afraid my kids will be bored and sad if we don't do stuff, and I get that, too.

Anyway, I'll be back! :grouphug: Thanks for letting me vent!
:faint: Have you ever interviewed to replace the Eveready bunny? Happy Anniversary!

Well today has been less than productive. While I was in bed around 1:30, KC was up till after 3am and slept till 2pm. I was up this morning, cleaning up, having breakfast and coffee and trying to set myself up on Windows 7. Yeesh. I don't mind relaxing after a long week in WDW but this is killing me, I'm so bored. I am making him at least take a walk or something today. We never did get to the laundry, so there's that too.

So I don't think I explained to you that KC & I found out (during the WDW trip actually) that we have a niece...who's 7. Apparently a girl whom his brother "dated" 8 years ago came fwd with a paternity test for him to take and it turns out he is the Dad! Her name is Chaianne (weird spelling) and she has lived 2 BLOCKS from KC & I her whole life!!!! She goes to school a block away from us. It's really insane! We met her, very briefly, Saturday. She was very nervous. it was the first visit she had with her Dad and meeting us too scared her, she hid behind her mom. Her birthday is Sun (she turns 7) and they are trying to work something out for her to meet the rest of the family Saturday. Needless to say this is whacking out the whole family. I think KC & I are the only ones who are thinking of this poor little girl who's world changed completely last week. everyone else is concerned with who's saying what and who's going to go where. KC's mom even said it was an "inconvenience" to find a birthday cake for her in their neighborhood. If the visit works out we are going to KC's mom's the night before and I am baking her a cake. She is adorable tho, and looks just like KC's brother.

Anyways, I need to give K a kick in the pants to do something today. Have a happy hump day lol.

Wow, that's a shocker for the whole family. The DH of one of Doug's neices just had this happen. Only the boy is 20 years old. I do feel sorry for the kids.

hey guys! sorry ive been MIA. I've gotten all caught up on the last few days, but theres just to much to quote on.

I don't do FB. I'm glad to know you are doing well.

Hi Fockers! I can't remember if I quoted today or not...I think I started but never finished.

Angela - :hug: to your sister

T - I agree with everyone who said don't single out the girls but at least remind the parents that you are not there to babysit. I like Janet's idea of the time out if the misbehaving continues!

Kat - That had to have been really weird to find out something like that but at least you guys are keeping the little girl's feelings in the picture :hug:

CE - Glad you were able to find the volunteers you needed for tomorrow. Happy Anniversary! :goodvibes

Janet - Wow...that was a busy day!

:wave2: Hi to everyone else I missed. That's all that I can think off the top of my head right now.

******************************************

I didn't do much on my day off. Woke up with a headache but was able to go back to bed once I dropped Lindsey off at school. DR and I then slept until 10. After that we switched bedrooms around and I cleaned up my old room and took the kids' bunk bed apart to make 2 twin beds. Now the trick it getting DR to sleep in his own bed...any tips? Other than that I did a bunch of laundry.

Back to school and daycare for us all tomorrow. We start presentations in my Medical Assisting class on Friday and I'm not looking foward to it. I hope our group can at least wait until next Thursday to do ours.

That's about it for me. I'm off to watch some DVR'd shows and then hit the hay.

Night everyone!

Good for you Kat to think of the little girl or should I say your NIECE!!!My niece's Hubby found out he had an 18 year old son recently ! My niece is fine about it as it was befoe they were together !!nd theirson is thrilled to have a BIG brother !!!

I hope you guys don't think that I think white ain't right... 'cause I love all my Vanilla Wafer friends just as much as my Oreo's!
What about us greenies? :rotfl:

"Hey piggie"....come here little piggie" (the thing is 1/3 the size of her van)..........then the man comes out.....(and no, he didn't have his shotgun)....I asked.....Ab said she waved and said "I'm just talkin' to your pig".......he asked if the pig had said anything back!......She said "no....but I like your pig!".........He said thanks he liked the pig too.......
:rotfl2: We really need to move to the county; this totally sounds like a Leo move!

I'm so ready to send their parents an email saying I am not a babysitter & I shouldn't have to put up with disruptive behaviour and if the girls cannot behave, they will be asked to leave. What do you think? Too harsh? Were we all just having a bad day? Do I see what the behaviour is like next week? Do I have a talk with the girls as group next week? HELP!
Well, if it were my child you were dealing with, I'd absolutely want you to be clear with him on the rules and expectations and discipline if he's not following them. I'd also want to know about any behavior problems when he's with you so I could take action as well. :thumbsup2

OMG, I can't imagine! :sad1: :hug:

Hope Mitch starts feeling better!

ITA. I know I won't be buying any books from Leo's school sales this year; he already has over 200 books, we have a free library 3 blocks away, and I'm broke. I'm sure so many folks are in the same boat, so rest assured that you've done your best, but people are just trying not to overspend right now. :thumbsup2 :hug:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morning! Anyone else feel like it's a Monday? :confused3
I had a ridiculously productive day off. :banana: Got lab work out of the way, filled Rx's, replaced the flushing system in my toilet... successfully!... stripped and changed my hair color and helped Leo with his karate practice. Go me! :cool1:
Unfortunately, the toilet repair was not good for my back/shoulders/neck tension; by bedtime last time it was all spasming. :headache: A little better today so far, though, so here's hoping.
/
P.S.: Sorry - I keep meaning to post this and keep forgetting!
If you've suddenly lost me as a Friend on FB, PLEASE don't be offended! I'm having to FB more and more for both work and family, and divvying things up between various groups there is getting too complicated. So I'm making FB more personal space and will keep the DIS for less-personal-but-more-social stuff. :thumbsup2
Not really. More rain was expected but we didn't get that much. It had been gray all week however.
Definitely.
I have to pick Reid up from school today so my sis and go to a funeral. A friend of theirs was riding his bike and was hit by a car the day before his baby's 2nd birthday. :sad2: He was on a bike trail crossing the street, but I'm not sure if he crossed in front of the car or the lady didn't see him. So sad. He was a photographer and took Reid's picture several times. Another reminder to be thankful for what we have because you never know.
It's a wonder those teachers aren't freakin' alcoholics! I am thankful I am only there for 1 hour a week, oh and I TOTALLY have a newfound respect for those teachers. They much be gluttons for punishment! :lmao:
That's what I told the kids today too. This week is the book fair and I told them we have a ton of books that we haven't read yet and they have access to the library at school now. :guilty: Money's tight all over and that's not where I choose to spend it right now. It's not you, CE. :hug:
V- Take care. I know it's so hard to stop yourself from doing what you're not supposed to, but Leo only has one momma, so get healed then care about the potty. Believe me, I'm only telling you what I've been trying to remember. My back hurts every minute of the day still. I just wonder if this is my new normal. :guilty:
I took A to the doctor this am. I just can't seem to get him to shake this allergies junk. His strep test was negative for the quick one, but we'll see on the long one.
I'm headed to to doctor now because my throat hurts so bad I can barely eat. I wonder if I'll lose weight... ;) :lmao:
I got to see and hold my 1 mo old nephew yesterday, so I hope I don't have anything that's contagious! :scared1: It was killing my back to hold him, though. :guilty:
Be back laters!!! :flower3:
I’m glad you’re going to the Dr!
I'll try and remember before they are all gone! :)
Thanks. It's funny we are the rational ones.
Hi :flower3: to anyone I may have missed.
It's rainy and crappy out so staying home was the plan, then KC got the call from work that they need him to cover a few hours tonight...so we are stuck home now. He's only working 6-10 but still, it's his vacation. I know he wanted to play Dragon Age tonight. He is doing the laundry now tho, and I'll fold and put it away later. I am trying to get everything for the new work week done early so we can relax for the weekend. We have plans tomorrow and maybe Saturday night as well.
Luckily tonight is leftover night! KC is picking up some bread so I can make garlic bread to go with the leftover pasta bake from the other night.
I really need to edit my pics before KC needs the pc so I can start my TR soon.
Hi Fockers! I've really been slacking in the quote department this week. Just when I think I have the time to sit down and read I get pulled in all kinds of different directions.
I had lecture and lab this afternoon and then came home and finished making dinner.
I had a call from a really good friend tonight (the one who we went to see at Halloween with the new baby) asking if I minded that she invited my ex-h and the kids to Thanksgiving dinner at her house. I told her that I didn't mind at all but that he might have his girlfriend with him. She was like, 'Oh well, that might change things a little bit.' She told me it was more for my kids and that they had a good Thanksgiving rather than my ex-h. I told her I really appreciated that and that that's all that matters to me. So, we'll see what happens on that one.
Not much else going on and I'm happy that tomorrow is Friday. I just want to relax this weekend.
Be back later to check up on y'all.
