Team Focker Watch, Part 12. Have we jumped the shark yet?

We're home now. I didn't read to catch up. Maybe tomorrow...

Luckily, both of our x-rays came back normal. Baylie braced herself with the ankle she hurt a few weeks ago, so she's sore. She's not to dance on it until she can step on it without pain. She was sent home with a pain killer that I'm hoping we won't need.

My back is killing me, but it's just sore. My jaw, head and neck hurt a bit. I guess I tensed up when I saw her barreling towards us in the rearview mirror. :guilty: I was sent home with a pain med and muscle relaxer. I already took some, so I hope that helps.

I'm not sure what's up with my car. Kirt hurried to us and sent me to the hospital in his truck. He said she went under my car and messed up my bumper, suspension, spare tire, tail pipe and some other stuff I can't remember. :confused3 Her car was totaled. She presented an expired insurance card, but swears it's up-to-date. I hope so...

There's no doubt who's at fault since I was completly stopped. Kirt said the skid marks were 10 ft long and the speed limit was 50, so I don't know. I just know she didn't seem to slow down. It was raining, so that probably didn't help.

So, thanks for the prayers and good thoughts. Luckily, Baylie's off tomorrow so we can rest.

So glad that you and Baylie are okay, that must have been so frightening seeing her coming at you like that.

Oh Dawn--I'm glad you are home and not too injured but sounds like you will be pretty sore. Take it easy tomorrow.
When you can, I recommend writing down everything you remember happening cause her insurance company will probably want to talk to you---seems like they always try to pay less even when it's clearly her fault. I bet she got a following too close ticket. Was she ok?

Keep us updated and get some rest.:grouphug:

.
She gets her license tomorrow.

Good luck Ab!

Well, my little girl survived her first sleep-over! :goodvibes She says they had a great time eating pizza, doing make-overs and watching movies. She was the first one asleep and the first one up!

:thumbsup2Glad she had fun and mama survived!

What does that involve? Americans seem to have to volunteer an awful lot more than here

Basically I just sell the sancks and drinks and stuff. It's not bad and it keeps me out of the sun:thumbsup2

Just went to see Up and Janet look away but I loved it, I definitely wouldn't recommend it for young kids though as I'm sure they'd find it boring. I did cry a bit but also laughed loads and just really liked it, oh it was 3D too

:sad2:

If the weathers fine David wants to go to a park near us to watch the stags rut tomorrow,

Do I even want to know what this means!

Ok the work injury story....A pole we use to hang clothes on high racks was left hanging in the middle of the rack and when I moved some shirts over it dislodged and nailed me in the top of the head. It isa heavy metal pole and it hurt like heck. It swelled quickly. The managers cared much more for filling out an incident report than me because I got a paper with the address of a dr to see and was sent on my way,no cab no escort, just had to get on the bus myself and go. The dr said it was just a bad contusion and I was fine but I went to be better safe than sorry. I have tons of papr work andcalls from the insurance co and was only asked once how I was feeling,4 days later. Kinda surprised at that. But I'm ok,obviously.

Ouch:headache:

I bought some popcorn today from the cub scouts in honor of Jimmy

Shoot, I could have delivered some to you!

Suckaaaa! (Only kidding, I always enjoyed doing stuff like that )
:rotfl: I am.

OK :rotfl2: I just saw this today, haven't had time to read any yet but you may like it http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2007/12/alphabetical-listing-of-recipes.html
Cool!

I am going to be an Auntie again!

Awesome:goodvibes

Lazy day here! I'm still in my jammies! .

This is our plan for tomorrow:thumbsup2

I can't wait until it's released on DVD so I can send Janet a copy. ;):lmao:

Gee, thanks!

Well, we headed to DLR after we picked up Mads. She reeeeeeally wanted to go today. THe weather was wonderful! It was cool enough to sport jeans and a hoodie, but all the tourist were in shorts and tanks! :lmao: Some silly locals even had boots and scarfs, it wasn't THAT cold. :sad2:

Please, when we were there in December, 2001 it started drizzling and the place emptied out. :rotfl2:

--------------------------

Hey all. Crazy day here today. Had soccer from 10:45 to 12:30. Afterward Jim and Jimmy went with our friend Jo and his son Matt (Jimmy's best friend) to the bar to watch the Eagles game. Yep, we are starting them young:rolleyes1 They actually went and got something to eat and watched the 1st half. Then they came back here and watched the end of the game and they boys played.

While they did that I went food shopping and then spent the afternoon vegging and reading. I would have checked in here earlier but our internet was out. I don't know if it is a Comcast problem or if thereis a problem with our router:headache:

Tomorrow Jim and Jimmy are off so Jim is going to do the last pass hopefully) of the season with the lawn mower and Jimmy has declared it pajama day!:thumbsup2 I probably will do some laundry, but other than that I don't plan on doing anything!

BUsy week ahead. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I will be at Jimmy's school in the morning organizing and counting money for the candy sale. Tuesday I have an eye doctor appointment (hopefully no more needles!), WEdnesday Jimmy has a doctor's appointment, and Friday I will be the Den Leader for Cub Scouts becasue Jim has a going away dinner for somebody at work. Saturday Jim has his Leader training for Scouts and we are also having his sister over for a few hours Saturday Night becasue his mom and dad are going to an anniversary party. CAn I just pass out now :faint:

I had to post this....Jimmy demanded to be able to stay up for the Phillies game which started at 10:07. Here he is 5 minutes before game time...along with Jim:rolleyes1

I know. I've been told I'll be worse tomorrow. I am worried about that. Even on Valium and Vicodin I'm still quite sore.

I know she got a ticket for failure to stop because the light was red. I was stopped and all the cars around me were stopped. She also got a ticket for expired insurance. :headache:

So glad that you and Baylie are okay, that must have been so frightening seeing her coming at you like that.
:goodvibes Yes it was. Poor Baylie was so shook up. I called a friend to calm her down while I talked to the police and witnesses. :guilty: I was on the phone and I scared the snot out of my poor friend. I started yelling before we got hit becuase I saw it coming, then screamed after we were hit and told her I had to go so I could call 911. Poor Sarah was really freaked when I called her back.

Poor Kirt had to listen to the 6 messages of Baylie and me calling crying asking him to call us. I only left one, but I didn't realize Baylie was in the car yelling into the phone and crying for her daddy. :sad1: My poor hunny...

:rotfl::rotfl:

That is too stinking cute!

Dawn - Poor Baylie! I remember last summer when a similar thing happened to us but not as serious. We saw the guy coming and I screamed bloody murder then bam! Luckily none of us were injured aside from Mom getting whiplash. I feel for poor Baylie.

Janet- That is a cute picture!

Dawn- I too am very glad that you are okay (with minor injuries). I hope you both heal quickly. Poor B can't dance. :sad1: Is your car driveable?

T- I'm sure it was all of those Minnesotan's in shorts. ;) We're on fall break from school and almost everyone I know got the heck out of town! You see here it's a balmy 32* with snow.

--------------------------------------------
We're on Fall break (teacher conferences & a state teacher conventions).

DS promptly woke me up well before the sun came up. :scared1:For the life of me, I can't understand why the child won't sleep in on none school days? Or any other day for that matter?

I was up past 1 AM working on Halloween treat packages for both of my kids classes. Why I do that to myself is beyond me.

Oh (yea)~ It snowed again last night. I think there is around 2 inches out there and it's still flurrying. Tink just woke up, screaming and hollering that, "It SNOWED, it SNOWED! Can we go sleigh?" :headache:

I just want to go back to bed. :rolleyes1

I am going to be an Auntie again! :cool1: In June, 3 days before Reid's birthday.
Wooohooo that's great so how old will Reid be?

Jo--you are going to a park to watch stags rut??

Is that the way British people deer hunt???
Daran went bow hunting all day yesterday (well, excluding the time spent watching VT !)-----he only saw squirrels! I think this is funny cause you can look out any window of our house and see deer! :lmao:
:rotfl2: Not quite, the only shooting we did was with David's camera :rotfl2:

We're home now. I didn't read to catch up. Maybe tomorrow...
I hope you're OK today

Do I even want to know what this means!
You know where 2 stags fight and clash antlers :rotfl2:

Well winter has arrived here too, it is freezing, well was earlier, we went for a lovely walk through a National Trust park and saw lots of deer. They weren't rutting though but the Stags were rounding up their does, it was quite sweet :rotfl2: D is now mowing the grass and hoping it will be the last time, I need to replant some plants that I moved for the deck to be done!

:teacher:English to English translation time:

STAG=BUCK

"Ima fixin' to bag me a 12 point buck "

"I shall attempt to catch a glimpse of a stag whilst feasting at the royal park"

.....now it's YOUR turn to use pick which phrase goes with which area!

;);)

Well, Ab got her license....I cried on the way over....I told her it felt like the day I dropped her off at kindergarten...only with more worry. She said I'm gonna have a tough time in 2 years when she goes to college....then she cried too. It's so scary---lots of things that can go wrong---really wrong. Like Dawn's accident yesterday---sometimes you get hurt when you're driving ok....and new drivers aren't near as experienced. She's so happy about it that I hate to be a wet blanket but it just makes me sad. :sad1:

It must be tough especially as they can drive so young over there, apparently they're increasing the age to 18 here!

For those of you that don't know I've started a new TR, link in my siggie please read as not many people are :sad1:

Ok Jo---I'll head over and mark my spot but I gotta get my booty headed to work now.........well, I was gonna say so I can pick up the kids after school......but she's driving....sniff sniff.....

Thanks Lessa:goodvibes

Thanks Jen:goodvibes

I feel your pain. Jimmy is the same way. He fell asleep 10:00ish last night and was stll up at 7:30:sad2:

Thanks! I can't wait to get home from work and dig into the yummy turkey dinner that Mom is cooking up. Turkey, mashed potatoes and homemade rolls! Yum yum!

Yum...I can probably drive and be at yourplace in what 10 hours or so. Save us some leftovers;)

Awwww so cute

Thanks jo :goodvibes

Congrats to Ab:yay: and  for you. I am hoping PA goes the NJ route and institutes the driving age to 17, then a Cinderella license until 18 by the time Jimmy is ready to drive!

For those of you that don't know I've started a new TR, link in my siggie please read as not many people are :sad1:

It's a good one too:thumbsup2

=================

Good (checking watch) morning everyone:goodvibes Jimmy was up at 7:30 despite not falling asleep until almost 10:00:headache: I was up until almost 2:00am watching the Phillies game...which they won:cheer2: Jimmy has declared PJ day and is playing computer games on PBS Kids. I am still in my jammies too;) Jim is outside doing, hopefully, the last pass of the lawn mower for the season and putting the lawn furniture away, etc.

Not much planned for today. I made a ham for dinner last night, so we are having leftovers tonight:thumbsup2

What is everone else up to?

Sure, sure... I say I'm going to not be on much this weekend, and you guys get super chatty. I see how it is. :lmao:

I'm breaking this up so as not to have monstrously large posts, but the kids will be home soon from the stupid half day, so I'm reminding myself that I'm on page 38. ;)

Oh CE I'm sorry, that doesn't seem right they should have told you when you applied  It can't hurt asking another school oh and what did you buy???

Thanks. I am still sad about it, just because it's so perfect for our schedule... Sigh.

I got a new velveteen winter jacket, some jeans, and a couple of shirts! Nice!

CE---when I had kids your age, the moms who wanted to sub volunteered a lot and then the teachers called them directly when they needed a sub. sometimes it was only for a few hours a day.

Yeah, see, we can't do that. I have to apply through the superintendant's office, and they are the ones that call. My kids' principal's office can't even call me directly - and they know me and I think they would. Sigh.

Either can and will crap on your head.

:rotfl2:

That is a bummer - I would definitely contact the other district though. Just a thought, but could you maybe do some private tutoring??

Maybe - not a bad idea, but I was trying to stick to "in-school" hours because of D being a pilot and so never knowing if I have child care.

  • The grandparents left this morning, they were only here for two days. Turns out the reason for the visit is that they wanted to buy Mom a new car for her birthday!
Nice! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving today! :goodvibes

It's below freezing outside and we have SNOW last night and will again tonight. :scared1:

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1:

Figured we'd better get grilling as the SNOW is coming!

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1:

Hey you East Coasters... THE SNOW IS COMING!!!! Most of the snow melted, but tomorrow we're getting it again. THIS IS NUTSO! Get your grills fired up and lawns taken care of and IF you have underground sprinklers and they haven't been blown out ~ Go cover the outside valve with blankets. A few years ago we had an early freeze and ours blew! It just poured water out and was $$$ to fix.

It's not making it out here, really. Our lows this week are just at freezing. I don't know where it's going, but thanks for the warning. I have the sprinklers turned off next week. :headache:

***************************************************
D is in Colorado, and if you saw anything about the baseball game, you know HE'S getting winter. He said it was 19 there this morning when he woke up. We had 33 when the kids got on the bus. :sad2:

I got a haircut - the last one was cute, but wasn't like the pictures I had and I'm thinking I'm growing it out again. But, for the meantime, in order to grow it out without a ton of layering issues, it's back to a short bob - very cute. ;)

The kids have this stupid half-day and should be home in about 10 minutes. Then, they have eye dr. appointments later this afternoon (I made them for "after school" without remembering that it was a half-day...) I don't know if Buzz is having a hard time seeing or is just getting lazy, but he's always been a fantastic reader and now seems like he's just guessing at words that he should know - so I'm actually hoping it's that he can't see them well, and not that he's not trying, if you get what I mean. :rotfl2:

OK, back to read some more! :goodvibes

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi! So glad you're back. I'm glad Doug's surgery went well, too. Your schedule sounds crazy! :faint:

Yes, indeed!

The girls and I chilled in bed till gone 11am just chatting, mostly about kitten stuff :rotfl2:

:rotfl:

I, on the other hand couldn't fall asleep until very late, then woke up at 3am and checked my phone to see if I missed her call.

Aww..

Just went to see Up and Janet look away but I loved it,

See... I knew you would. ;)

Ok the work injury story....

Yikes!

I put a huge pork roast in the crock pot first thing (recipe sounds good, has apples, apple cider, potatoes, onions) and I happened to put my hand on the outside a few hours later - STONE COLD

You know this fall I started something in ours before a day on the lake, turned it on, but forgot to plug it in? Yeah... At least yours was broken! :rotfl2:

I am going to be an Auntie again! :cool1: In June, 3 days before Reid's birthday.

Woohoo!!!! :cool1:

We're home now. I didn't read to catch up. Maybe tomorrow...

So many hugs for both of you.

BUsy week ahead.

I'll say! :faint:

I had to post this....Jimmy demanded to be able to stay up for the Phillies game which started at 10:07. Here he is 5 minutes before game time...along with Jim:rolleyes1

The high is in the 50's today, but tomorrow it's going to be 68. No wonder the kids are getting sick:sad2:
