Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Give me the details of your trip again! Mom is on her way to Richmond for work now. I'd love to go to Williamsburg--Abby has never been.

We are going Agust 15th to the 19th. Plan is to leave Philly at O'Dark 30 on the 15th and be in Williamsburg by lunch time. (GPS says it is a 5.5 hour drive, but tack on a bit of time for going through DC).

8/15 - Yorktown
8/16 - Jamestown
8/17 - Colonial Williamsburg
8/18 - Busch Gardens
8/19 - Come home :-(

We are staying the Governors Inn, which is a Colonial Williamsburg Hotel. All proceeds go into the preservation of CW. Ot a great deal $64/night. Basic Hotel room, but all the reviews I have read said it is clean and that's the main thing:thumbsup2

That sounds like a good schedule! He will learn a lot of VA history and have fun doing it! I haven't been to Busch Gardens since I was in college---would like to see again. Wish I were closer but it's over a 6 hour drive for me.:sad2:

You could just take a drive over and see me;)

So, TFW is down to Rosie, TE and Janet? :surfweb:

Guess we need to recruit more members.

MEL:banana:

T: you don't suck! You rock! :worship:

Just sad for our poor, neglected TFW. It's like the gross licorice jellybeans at Easter. All ignored and what-not. Lol.

Let's show some love to the sad little thread. :lovestruc

Not really....CE and Jo (and you for a while) are on vacation. T and V were away too. I'm trying to get ready to go away. SUmmer always seems to slow down for us:confused3

Yeesh! I haven't had much to say, but I've been reading along. I know, I suck. :guilty:

Nuh uh:hug:

Good morning. Not much happening here. I do feel a bit lost. I left my cell phone at home:eek: Should actually be able to get some work done today...all the interviews are done:banana:

I really need to start getting stuff together for our trip.

I did get the contract for the new school year for Jimmy's before/after school program. The price went up $15/week:headache: I had to change the effective date on the contract. They had it effective 9/8. THey are closed 9/7, which is the 1st day of school here:confused3 and then schools are closed 9/9 and 9/10 for Rosh Hoshana. Um, no I am not paying you $165 for 1 day(Not even a whole day--45 minutes in the morning and 2 hours[tops] in the afternoon). I can take a couple hours vacation and drop Jimmy off and pick him up for 2 days ::yes::

Good Morning All!! Off to work in a few !!But have to keep our thread alive !!Nothing really going on here !!Judy is off for this week and next between jobs !! My Boss is still on vacation !!So to all who are around have aGREAT Day!!

Morning all.

Ihave been away for the last few days on a mini vacation. Went down the Jersey shore for a few days with another couple and their son and 2 of my grandkids. It was a great trip except for the slightly too much sun i my nose. I lathered the kids up and remembered everything but my face which is now a very lovely shade of deep red. I just talked to my drs office and they want me in today as it sounds like sun poisoning. The kids had a great time and rode all the rides that they could fit in. It is my favorite vacation spot after Disney.

Not much else here today just a little straightening up of the house. Have a good day all.

SUmmer always seems to slow down for us:confused3
True. ::yes:: I'm around, just not posting a lot. I haven't had anything exciting to share that fits within the confines of my "nothing overly personal posted on public discussion boards anymore" rule, lol!

Um, no I am not paying you $165
HOLY SHIZZLE - is that your weekly cost?! :faint: Mine was $60 last year and I'm guesstimating maybe $65 this year. Yikes!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Um, yeah... still nothing new here. School starts in just under 2 weeks, summer camp's winding down, and I'm still gainfully employed. Life is good! :rotfl:
Man, I love you! That was a good laugh. :rotfl:
I can try to show the thread some love, but I don't have anything to say... :confused3
We went to San Antonio for a couple of days. It was nice to see friends we missed from New Braunfels. It made me miss having good girlfriends that you can trust, who always have your back. Mel says the dance team here has more drama than Real Housewives of NJ. ;) It certainly has it's share. I'm trying to drop my girls and leave and stay out of everything. I don't have time for the stress. :sad2:
The girls have dance camp next week and the week after, then school starts. I'm kind of excited about school, but I'll miss being able to sleep later and do whatever we want.
So... no big plans today. I'm trying to balance how nuts it's going to get once Saturday gets here. I won't hardly see Baylie from them until the 16th. Dance will be nuts all that time. Luckily she'll love it.
I bought my tix to MNSSHP Tuesday, so my trip is all set. :banana: I don't have ADRs because as long as we eat scallops at Raglan, I'm a happy girl. :cloud9: I do kind of want to go back to the Wave. It was so good... :idea:
::yes:::sad2:. On the plus side its the only B/A school care that also takes him when the schools are closed but Jim still has to work days. They also provide all meals (if he wants to eat when he is there)
Mom was telling me everyone is having a fit becasue they are having the take free weekend this weekend and eveybody already went and bought all their school supplies.
I can't get ove the fact of how many people start schoolbefore labor day:confused3
Just learned that an old friend, with whom I'd been out of touch for years but recently got back in touch via FB, died in his sleep last night. At age 31. Leaving behind his wife and two young daughters.
I'm at work, in a situation where I simply can't fall apart and cry the volume of tears desperately trying to escape my eyes. I'm shocked, stunned and yes - thinking over and over, "He was nearly a decade my junior - how can life be so fleeting?"
Yeah, I know it slows down. I forgot my cell phone a few times on vacation and it was weird.
That is SO much money! I can't even imagine how hard it must be for working moms. You guys get all my props. :worship:
Gotcha. Btw, glad to hear that work is safe for now. Forgot to mention that last time. :goodvibes
Again, that's hard. Is it more money than having someone watch him in your house? I can't relate, although through my senior year in high school years and just after I was a live-out nanny. They paid me more but they wanted me there all day while the boys were at school to clean and do laundry etc.
Well, that's good! Any new ideas on the SW trip? I was going to suggest that you look into the train from AZ to the Grand Canyon. I can't remember the name of the town but it's a completely restored 1800's train. It looks cool! We were going to do it with the boys.
:lmao:
Love you too. LOL. :love:
I know, me too!
Good job, people! I knew you could do it!
Today I slept in (and skipped the gym....). I brought Gus to Algebra and then SD and I went to the diner for some breakfast. We picked up his "Steer Clear" packet from State Farm. They will give us an additional 15% off our insurance (which DOUBLED when we added SD!!!!!) for completing the packet. Another 10% off for a report card with 3.0 or better. YAY!
We also picked out new glasses for SD. It takes me forever to buy glasses. He took 10 minutes! :scared1: They're nice, though expensive, and they'll be in in 10 days or so. So, that was good.
Now we're off to the Senior Portrait Photographer. (Weep,Weep) Then maybe I can chill out. I'm thinking about maybe making some brownies later if the temp ever goes below 90. Whew.
Hope you are all having a great day!
V, so sorry. There isn't any type of consolation for a loss that deep. Please know we love you. We'd all be there to hug you if we could. :grouphug:
Your baby is all growed up:hug: It's hot as heck here too!
I know we pay a ton for child care, but in this case it's the you get what you pay for. I know people here who pay WAY less than we do at the Catholic School. It is $60/week. But they basically sit in the school hall and don't do much with them.
At Jimmy's place they help them with their homework. Then they play outside on a nice playground, and the big thing like I mentioned before he can go there on days schools are closed, but Jim still has to go in for "professional development". On B/A School days they provide breakfast (sometimes he will eat there, sometimes he will eat at home) and then after school they give him a snack and if there past 4:45 (very rare) they also provide dinner.
Here is the sample items for the last week of camp for breakfast lunch and snacks
Breakfast - CHeerios, Whole wheat cinnimon toast, whole wheat bagels, honey wheat English muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice, milk or water
Lunch - Soy Butter (Can't have PB because of kids with peanut allergies) and jelly on whole wheat, Garden slad with ranch dressing, apple sauce, chicken and broccoli on whole wheat pita, turkey roll ups, tuna salad, fresh fruit milk, juice or water
Snacks - Graham Crackers, Fruit, Whole Grain Pretzels, Raisins, Blueberry Muffins, and on Friday they get a treat and have ice cream sundaes.
So all in all not bad! I know that he isn't eating carp. They also have back up stuff (pizze, chicken nuggets for when the he won't eat any of the baove (i.e Jimmy is NOT a tuna eater)
Are you joinging us for that? Wednesday evening? :cutie:
Will they give a discount for taking an on-line defensive driving course, or do you want to save that for if he gets a ticket? :rotfl: I think you can only get one discount per policy, so maybe you could take it? :idea:
Poor momma... Senior pics. :hug: Call me laters. :lovestruc
