Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Evening All! Good news I ordered the same laptop on line for same price and ship to store for free!!!!!!!!

Hi, guys!

Busy day - I've read along, but haven't had time to do much quoting.

Jo, no, D was awakened by Woody "just needing to say goodnight to Daddy" - which was cute, but kind of mean. :rotfl2: Glad Jess's parent night went well and that you had a lovely day! :goodvibes

Good news on the laptop, Rosie!

Hope you had a nice time at the park, Taz. I'm loving the weather, too! :goodvibes

************************************************
The book fair meeting went well - I think we're pretty well set for now. We meet with the Scholastic rep tomorrow, too.

After, I went over to get the team set up for their match, decided to try to get my brows done (it had been a while) and then maybe run. But, the matches got a little closer, and more people came in, and I ended up chatting and watching the whole thing. :rotfl: That would have been OK, but then I still needed to go to the grocery store, so I barely beat the bus home (and never worked out :sad2:) and then took the kids to karate.

Tomorrow's pretty busy, too - haircut, book fair meeting, tennis with D... He leaves Thursday and won't be home until Sunday.

So, I might check in first thing in the morning, but if not, I hope you have a great one! :goodvibes

HAve a good day!

Hi Kristel, Rosie and Lorrie

+++++++++++++++

Hey all. Morning:goodvibes Boy off to work and school. I am still in my jammies. I have my eye doctor appointment later, but I have some time to veg a bit. I am going to update Jim's resume for him. He is going to apply at a couple of other what are called site select schools. The principals hire as opposed to the school district appointing. He is really frustrated with the school he is in now. The principal does nothing about discipline adn he said the kids know it and are completely running amok!:sad2:

After my appointment I have to take Jimmy to OT, where Jim is going to meet us so that I can leave to come home and get my stuff together to take to the home and school meeting. Yeah, I'm tired already:rolleyes:

Hope you all have a wonderful day!:goodvibes

No! Maybe I should ask today... We always have the credit card machine, but we do our own money box...

Good luck to him.

BTW, you may NOT have Pujols. :rotfl2:

Ugh... couldn't sleep for no apparent reason - I was really tired.

Luckily, I don't have to leave for the haircut for about an hour, so I'm sitting drinking coffee and just surfing. :thumbsup2

The registers are great. There are scanners where you just scan the bar code, it totals everything and you can use a credit card too!:thumbsup2

Don't want him......:lmao:

Sounds good!

Jim's resume is typed and sent off for him to proof before I print up on the good paper. I m going to slyly give it to the principal at Jimmy's school tonight. Not sure how we feel about him teaching at Jimmy's school when it comes time for him to be in those grades, but we have a while to worry about it. He just has to get out of where he is now. He is too stressed out:sad2:

Good luck to Jim on the job hunt!

I feel so rough today, not sure if it's hayfever a cold or both  So although I have loads to do I'm trying not to do too much :rotfl:

That's kind of what I decided about last week - seemed like a combo cold/hayfever. Yuck. Feel better.

OK don't tell but I just ate a whole bag of cadburys mini eggs  :rotfl: I looked at the pack and OMG there was 21g of fat in it  Better do some exercise :rotfl:

Good morning.:goodvibes Wow, with the nice weather it has been really quiet around here. It is another beautiful day here, but of course I am at work. Not much on the agenda for today. I am having lunch with a girlfriend, so that will break up the day rather nicely.

Happy Thursday:hug:

Morning friends!
Jo--do you like the regular cream Cadbury eggs or the caramel ones? I like the caramel best.

CE--been meaning to ask you--Ab is enjoying tennis but she is having a really hard time serving. Any tips? She has her first match in 2 weeks--probably doubles.

rainy here today---wishing I were at Disney with our buddies..

Janet--what grade is he applying for? Tired of middle school?

I've got a friend coming round soon with her 2 little girls, they're going to want to play outside on the trampoline and see the rabbits so it's going to be fun fun fun trying to keep Boo indoors :rotfl2:

I will eat the creme ones if I have too ;) but the caramel ones are sooooooooooo much nicer. Do you get the bars of cadburys caramel over there?

CE--been meaning to ask you--Ab is enjoying tennis but she is having a really hard time serving. Any tips? She has her first match in 2 weeks--probably doubles.

I've been wondering where you were! :)

Without seeing what she's doing it's hard to say, but... Here's what I know:
1. If she's got a good strong overhead shot, she should treat the serve like an overhead. Toss the ball right above her head, keep the toss hand high and pointed at the ball until she makes contact, then the racquet should come down hard with a good wrist snap. However, I've JUST gotten to this point myself - suddenly in the last 3 weeks or so, I've "gotten" it. The racquet in this case should start hanging way down behind her shoulder, come up, then snap down.

2. If she feels like she can't hit hard overheads or has no control over them, she should forget the wrist snap. Toss the ball a little out in front of her body (not directly overhead) and tap it in like a high volley, and don't snap the face down at all. This is what I was doing up until lately. It's nothing that's going to be an ace, but more than half the battle at beginner level is getting the serve in. Even if it's not hard, if you're not faulting all the time, you're probably pretty good. Many of my teammates do this type. The girl I played with last week has a very soft, gentle serve, but it goes in EVERY time and I think that's part of why we won. The other doubles pair that day had a lot of serving issues, and so even though they were very well matched with the other team, they lost with a bunch of double-faults. Better to get a soft tap in...

3. Worse case scenario, she can almost side arm or even just drop the ball on her racquet to serve. It does NOT have to be an overhead motion, it just can't bounce before she hits it over. I've seen a lady on the next level up from me do this when she hurt her shoulder, even in a match. It's not great, but it's legal.

I've got a friend coming round soon with her 2 little girls, they're going to want to play outside on the trampoline and see the rabbits so it's going to be fun fun fun trying to keep Boo indoors :rotfl2:

Have fun! :goodvibes

We needed a sub in my tennis this morning, so D went with me (he was happy as it looks like he's missing his next two Friday classes...) So, that was extra fun, and now I don't have much else going on today. I just made an oil change/basic check on the new car tomorrow afternoon, but I didn't feel like running around a lot today.

D had said he'd probably shower at the gym and just go on to work from there (they aren't taking off until 5:00 this evening) but he seems to be getting that cold thing I had, and he just couldn't get himself together, packing-wise and so forth, to do that. We've been home for nearly an hour, but he's just now getting in the shower. I think he's done packing, though, at least. No hurry, but I want him to leave so that I can sit here and veg without guilt. :rotfl2:

I'm taking the kids to karate tonight, but that should be all. :thumbsup2

Hey remember me? Seems like years since I got over here.

I have been cleaning and cleaning and cleaning.

I swear it was like moving back into the apt again after bagging everything up. KC has been working long hours so I have pretty much been left to do it all myself. It's just a LOT of work.

We managed to get rid of a TON of stuff tho, and now I am trying to find a place to donate the XXL sized garbage bag of clothes. Not having much luck tho.

I am down to one more bag of "junk" to go through, mostly KC's stuff so I need him to do it. I reorganized the entire closets and junk drawers. It's been nutso.

We saw "Waking Sleeping Beauty" on Tues, it's a documentary of Disney Animation from 1984-1994....it was AMAZING!!! We got to see a Q & A with 2 of the animators from the film. Great stuff for any Disney fan! AND the original model for Snow White was in the audience too! Very cool.

Do any of you have girls who like Hannah Montana?? We bought a square lamp with Hannah Montana on it for Christmas for our niece and we haven't seen her and prob won't until KC's bro gets the custody straightened out. SO I have this lamp I'd love to give to someone who will use it.Also I have a boot shaped stocking too. PM me with your addy and I'll sent it out asap!

I am probably headed to the city this evening, KC is covering for the night guy and is stuck till midnight, so I will keep him company.

OH and he's at his interview RIGHT NOW! His job now keeps throwing money at him and telling him they will promote him , if he stays. Basically it's going to come down to the $$ and the new job is less work and a TON more money he thinks. Anyways wish him luck!

Hope everyone is doing well!!

Thanks CE! I printed the tips off for her. She said the coach is trying to get them used to overhead serves but hers seems to go different ways. She's enjoying it a lot though---and she loves the skirt---AND she got her picture in the paper! Oh, and did I tell you her racket is pink??

OH.....and I haven't been on here as much cause I now have 3 games to keep up with! Mafia Wars is pretty fun--and I love my Farmville 9 plot tractors too! ;)

Jo---Walmart here doesn't sell the cadbury bars...just the eggs. Prolly a good thing for me!
