:cool1:

AWWWWWWWWWWW, shucks. I should be posting a lot this week. My DD11 is gone with her dad to the beach. She went to his house yesterday and left for the beach today. I won't see her till Friday night. I already miss her so much. Even though she drives me nuts sometimes.

Is there no bluegrass music in England?
Nope sounds like fun ;) :rotfl2:

But seriously, nothing can replace a flaming onion. :sad1:
:rotfl2: But think we'll definately be dining together that's better than a flaming onion :rotfl2:

:lmao: Jo not only have thre copied British cities names they pronounce them differently Norridge ( Norwich) is pronounce NOR Witch here. Coming from Suffolk too I always chuckle at that!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Really

That's because it's spelled "N - O - R - W - I - C - H". Norwich is not too far from me.
Are we going to argue again? :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: Did you see when I posted about where DH was born? In Wymondham pronounced wind hum and his brother works in Costessey pronounced cos e :rotfl2:

The one around here that gets me (and this may be a British thing, too) is the Worchester/Dorchester thing. Both towns are nearby in Massachusetts. They say Worchester as "Wooster", but Dorchester is pronounced "Dorchester". Why??? Shouldn't it be "Dooster" then? :rotfl2: No native likes it when I ask this. :rolleyes1

The English language as spoken by us Brits has few standarsd rules and is full of such oddities Happiesborough is pronounced HAYSBURO!:confused3 :lmao:

They're pronounced the same here :rotfl2:

Jess went to Happisburgh on her school trip and I kept telling her the correct way to pronounce it if her teacher asked, not that I wanted her to beat her friends or anything :rotfl2:

REMINDER....

Late August TFW members, don't forget to meet us on the Poly beach, August 25 around 8:30pm! I hear the pool bar will likely be closed, so stop in at Tambu lounge on your way out :thumbsup2

I wondered about the Wooster thing--I had to practice that when I lived in Connecticut!
(But I always said NOR-witch)

So, the work started this morning.

The plumber never showed up , but nice Cliff the installation guy says he can move the pipe, no problem. :yay:

This is consuming my life, so I assume you're all just as interested. :rolleyes1 So, some pictures!

Here is when we ourselves had the fake brick off the wall. It was not horrible, except that every 3rd brick or so was fake "mossy" and I felt weird about that in the kitchen. Also, very dated looking. So, here it is, gone. Don't mind the wine and beer bottles - it was a long weekend... :cool2:

So, then D. was able to remove the microwave and stove, and you can see that I have the cabinets all emptied out (this was yesterday morning.):

First, the guy took all the doors off the cabinets this morning:

Then he removed the drywall where the brick had been because it was so damaged:

That was all before lunch! Quick Cliff! :thumbsup2

When I got back from the boys' tennis lession, I found this:

The cabinets are not installed, but they are sitting where they will be, and the wall is repaired! Yay, Cliff!

So, he expects to do the plumbing bit in the morning, and also get the cabinets in. I think our countertop measuring, which was supposed to be Wed., will have to wait. The consensus at the lumber yard is that even if the old and new appliances (range and dishwasher, specifically) are "standard" and should be the same width for the counters, we probably ought to wait until we have the actual new ones in before they template the quartz countertops.

I am MUCH less stressed now that it has started and the big problem doesn't seem like it will be so big! :woohoo:

So, the work started this morning.
I love the new cabinets! I have light/natural maple ones in my current house and really love them--I think it makes the room look bigger!!
So--are we going out to dinner tonite??

Well, I am counting down my days till the beach--yikes, it's at 2 1/2 I think...leaving Thursday at 6 am. I don't have a ticker like I do for Disney trips so it's kinda confusing!
Here's a pic of where I'll be this time next week.....now if I could only get my fanny in gear and start packing! (no, Jo--remember FANNY is not a bad word here so you can start using it too!)

Thanks!

NICE beach! :) Where, again?

We are actually staying home because D. left this p.m. for a week long "recurrent" training session, in Montreal. So, the boys are eating those Lunchable things, and I will likely boil me up some tortelloni on the side burner on our grill later on. (I do also have our old countertop microwave hanging around in the basement, if I need it.) :thumbsup2
