Ok, so how much $$ did you spend? We haven't gotten pictures in a loooooooong time, so I went overboard. $400+ :eek: I quit buying school pics because they were usually bad and to get enough for the fam, it would cost at least $50 per child; so I just stopped getting them. :rolleyes:
:faint: I spent $75. I had a Sears coupon for $3 sheets after you purchased 6 $8 sheets. So, I bought a 5x7 of each picture for myself and a 5x7 and wallet of the 3 kids together for grandparents. I got 14 different sheets. There were no sitting fees and I got a free 10x13 with another coupon I had. :banana:

The GP's were getting crabby here too. I told them they were welcome to take them, just to stop at the liquor store first. :laughing: My $400 did include a framed 16x16 for myself and Christmas cards (which those of you on the card exchange will be getting. ;) )

rachel,

Did you see the info on the Holiday exchanges? It's on pg 108.

those pics are adorable dawn!!
:goodvibes Thank you!

Thanks for all your well wishes on Facebook. :hug: I`m feeling a little better. I`m tired of bieng in bed, I`m going to hop in the shower and maybe head out to get a coffee at DD and the bank and Wal mart. I cant seem to regulate my temperature, I`m either hot or cold. its driving me nuts!
I`ll be back tonite. take care...:hug:

Poor Carrie! :hug: Hope you feel better soon. I hear you on the being sick of being in bed. Here's hoping to a speedy recovery! :banana:

Talked with my friend and she said that they don't gluten allergies per se, but just sensitivities. So, I'm safe. In fact, she said that I could put potatoes and carrots in the pot roast too. Her DH won't eat the potatoes, but it's not an allergy, so it won't bother him if they're touching the meat. So, we're totally safe on the food.

Mel - am sending up good wishes for your appointment and waiting for good news!

Good news! Glad it worked out.

I have an update below on the eye!

Hi Peeps! :wave2: Quick drive-by! :car: **beep, beep**

So, I just wanted to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! .

:hug: :hug: to all! I miss chatting with you guys!

HI T!!!! Miss you too!!!

just checking in. sorry it's been a few days. it's been busy here. i had to work all weekend. i got a text from mel today. thanks for thinking of me!!

so now i need to go and catch up...................... anyone have cliff notes???

Cliff notes!? You want cliff notes!!!??? LOL....
Sorry, I've been here but been sort of messed up....

I usually start with a mix in the bag sugar cookie dough! I know, me of all people! But i tend to make a carpload of cookies and its much easier to roll them out when you don't have to do too much to the dough. I amke soem home made and some out of the package cookies.

Today is my name day. It's a Greek orthodox thing. I am Greek but not religious but Pants is and usually a big deal is made. Today he forgot me. I usually get my baklava, but not even a phone call this time. He's in trouble.

Anyways off to finish up all my carp.[/COLOR]

OMG, Kat uses pkg cookie dough!? Cool. Now I know it's ok. :laughing:

Happy Name Day! I love baklava. Can I have a name day??? My name is actually greek. (uh, not Mel, obviously)

Happy name day, Kat! :goodvibes

Mel- Where are you? How'd the appointment go? :confused3 :hug:

Hi girls! Oh, and Mr. T (:hug:)!!!!

Dr. Seigle said that the pressure was indeed UP. It was 26, so he says, "The stitch is coming out." I'm like, "uh, no wait, hold on.." And before I could spit out "WHAT NOW?" he whipped it right out of my eye!!! I was shocked beyond belief! My MIL was there, so that was good.

It wasn't a big deal though. Just shocked at the sudden decision. The pressure went down to 15 after that. It was a good appt. He said it looked great. I don't have to go back to see him till Dec. 11th.

My mom arrived safely. She was home with SD when we got back. I just made baked pork chops, squash and rice for dinner for everyone. Tomorrow we are grocery shopping. Then baking pie and cookies. Thursday we are going to see Bolt and eating at the diner. I just don't want to cook!!! So lazy. Well, gotta go spend time with the Moms.

Ly guys!
MEL:banana:

After she passed we went on a Christmas Disney trip in her honor!
What a lovely idea. :hug:

Somehow I have found friends on FB from elementary school in Dallas! ;) I was friends with everyone, as we all were then, and the last month of 5th grade, moved to Memphis. No wonder I never liked it. :rolleyes: So who keeps in touch in 5th grade but it's neat to hear what they're up too. Even if they all went to the wrong UT! :rotfl:

Happy name day, Kat! :goodvibes

Well, I've started the pre-Thanksgiving cleaning ritual. I just spent the last hour cleaning up all my scrapbooking stuff off the dining room table. So, I've now got two rooms cleaned. Lots more to go....:headache:

:sad1:

Hello ladies and gents.

Just got home from the doc with Jon.

His CT scan revealed that he has no right sinus. That's why he gets all of the infections. There is no where for the yucky stuff to drain.

Anywho...that's not the bad news.

Jon has been complaining for several days about his feet. Most of you know he has muscular and orthopedic issues, for which he wears braces. He has outgrown his latest set of braces...and we're waiting to go back to the ortho in a few weeks.

Well, just to be safe, I had the ped take a look at his feet. He's been in an ace bandage type thing to give his ankle more support. Well, she unwrapped his ankle and it was really swolen. She took x-rays...and we found 2 things.

1. He has a small fracture on his right malleolus...which we can do nothing about. Just put him in a brace.

2. And...both tendons...on each ankle that keep the malleolus (ankle bone) in place have slipped and are now UNDER the bone. Not doing their jobs. So, there is nothing keeping his ankle up, basically, for lack of a better explanation.

He's going to need surgury. They sent the films up to his ped ortho and they want me to call first thing in the morning. Doc just called an hour ago and said surgury it is.

:sad1:

Send good thoughts.

Evening, all!

Dawn, great pictures.
Mel, great news.
Hi, everyone!

Thanks for the good wishes for D. He's putting the kids to bed now, but I hope we can talk when he comes back down.

I am TIRED and SORE. I'm too old for two tennis classes in one day. :rotfl:

Oh, Jen. :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug:

Any thoughts on when? Recovery? We love you both. :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug:

I don't know. We'll have to see the ortho to find out.

TRAGEDY has struck. Jim took something out of the freezer and when he shut the door the crock pot leapt to its death and shattered into a million pieces :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Now on the black friday shopping list is a new crock pot! :sad2:

Picked up the turkey and other stuff from the grocery store, got Jimmy bathed and into bed so now I am going to go eat dinner and get some sleep.

I will check back in later!

Hi Fockers!! I've been so busy lately, but just wanted to stop in and say Hi to all my DIS friends! :goodvibes

OOOH I am so torn on THAT SHOT.
I protects against the Sexually Transmitted Cancers.
Sara is supposed to get that next year or she can not go to Middle School.It's Mandatory. THAT SHOT should not be MANDATORY.

I'm seriously thinking about fighting that shot.

See thats the thing.. THEY DON'T KNOW... it's too new.

I'm not doing it. It only protects against a certain few strains and now some doctors are coming out against it.
I think it's another things that each family has to decide for themselves.

::yes:: I think it's risky, only because it's too soon to know the long term effects of that drug (shot). Did anyone see the movie I am Legend? Sorta same thing, cancer shot came out curing cancer, everyone got it and bad things started to happen. I know that's an extreme example, but you never know what can happen in the long term. I would fight it and I've heard Dr's being against it too as Dawn stated.

JI did see Twilight again. I know, I know.

:eek: :faint:

DO you really want to know how I do cookie cutter cookies??? OK, get a pencil...Write this down....

Step 1 - Get in your car and drive to the grocery store.

Step 2 - Go to the refrigeratoed section and pick up 4 tubes of Pillsbury Sugar Cookie Dough.

Step 3 - Pay for them (This is important - DO NOT TRY TO LEAVE STORE WITHOUT PAYING, the owners frown upon this;) )

Step 4 - Take home.

Step 5 - Open container and roll out with a floured rolling pun (so the dough doesn't stick!).

Step 6 - Cut cookies

Step 7 - Read instructions on tube as to how to cook them

Step 8 - Follow the instructions.

And that my friend is how I make sugar cookies!:thumbsup2

Is there any other way? :confused:

:thumbsup2 Exactly!!

Now I'm thinking of resting, but I don't know how to work these dern contacts!
I can't nap with them in, can I? Are my eyes supposed to be blurry-ish and weird? I'm wondering if I should take them out and put my glasses back on...

Has anyone who wears contacts gotten them on-line? I'm wondering what the prices are vs. EyeMasters or something.

You're not supposed to sleep with them. They usually tend to dry out and then sorta stick to your eyeball. You either blink 5 million times or put drops if you do "accidentally" sleep with them.

I don't remember mine being blurry-ish, but I've had them since I was in 8th grade. :confused3 I know I did get headaches the first few days and still do when I get new ones.

A lot of eye places are offering mail-in-rebates for contacts nowadays. I buy mine online, but I need special contacts that cost a bit more, but I think they're about $17-$25 a box. If you're lucky to have your eyes the same power you can get away w/ just 1 box though. ;)

Jen: :hug:

Welcome Back CE!

Yay Jo! SDD!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've been so busy lately doing stupid work stuff.
My friend Yani and I volunteered to work @ the Madonna concert tomorrow. We'll get paid a little, but we get to see/hear the concert for free. :woohoo:
My mom leaves to Puerto Rico on Thurs. so I'll be attempting to cook a Thanksgiving dinner. :scared1:
Anyhoo, gotta go clean the house.
:hippie:
