Mel's up. I talked to her a minute ago on FB. She's going to the gym so she can shower with her closest friends. Sorry, Mel. Couldn't resist...

What can I say? I love showering with strangers! LOL

Here's some craziness... Leo goes off on this dissertation about guns this morning - explaining the attributes of pistols, vs. shotguns, vs. rifles, vs. dart guns, etc. I quickly asked where he'd obtained such information and he said "from a book at school." SAY WHAT?!?!?! WTH kind of school keeps a book about guns in a first grade classroom?! I'm hoping it was some kid's book that got mixed in with the school books, but you better believe I'm sending a note of inquiry to the teacher.

Well, I can only say that I wouldn't mind my child being exposed to this necessarily but I'd still want to know if it was a book THEY had or some other child.
Only because OTHER parents might care.

My DD7 has been reading chapter books since before kindergarten. She is also already done with the second grade math standards (timed tests for addition and subtraction) and has moved on to multiplication already. Our school system has a self-contained gifted and talented classroom for 3rd graders. The selection process is pretty standardized. Every second grader takes an achievement test and then another test that is sorta an IQ test. Then, letters are sent out to kids that initially qualify based on these test scores and they are given more tests.

I see you've handled the situation but I was going to mention that my DS12 has always been a very advanced reader, but he would consistently be "tested out" for T&G classes. When I asked the coordinator she told me that although his reading scores were "off the chart" he wasn't in math and they were testing for WELL ROUNDED students. This always made me furious (I mean, should we ignore that he's advanced in one area if he isn't in ALL????) but now I just let it go. We supplement alot of reading and advancement at home, so he's getting the extra he needs!

I haven't mentioned it yet to Bob, but I am probably going.....

So this weekend we will probably rip apart the kitchen and change things up. And then there's the 2 clothes closets to do after that. I am prepping for moving, I wanna be through everything so if and when we find a place we can pack easily!

So, I did some good stuff today! I biked ALOT at the gym, bought my hair color so I can do that before I meet the Fockers, bought some new nail polish, got two tops at Old Navy and met Bob for a coffee.

Now I'm home relaxing before I make dinner. Bob's working downstairs and SD and Gus are flying a kite at the school. It's very nice outside. I think almost 70 degrees!

I'm making buffalo chicken, couscous and broccoli for dinner. What are you guys up to?

I was just missing home. i was 20. I`ve googled him through the years. hes now in Idaho. last time I saw him, he was sleeping in our bed as I was leaving for the AutoTrain home.........

I can't offer any advice here... My 1 ex is not around on FB that I see. In fact most of my childhood friends are not on.
Can't say how he or is possible wife/GF would feel about an ex being on his Friend list.

I was talking to a neighbor last night who has a 2nd grade son and also works as a sub in our school and she made me feel a lot better. Her DD is a sophomore and was in the GT class for part of third grade, but they pulled her out. And now that she's in high school, she's in all the advanced/honors/AP classes anyway. So, if she doesn't qualify this year, at least she's not pigeon-holed into the non-AP stuff in high school.

The weird thing is that she's more advanced in math than she is in reading, but didn't score that well in either of them on this particular test. That's why I think she may just not test very well. Hopefully teacher recommendation will count for something at some point in the process.

I haven't mentioned it yet to Bob, but I am probably going.....

I've gone through the girls' clothes and pulled everything that won't fit for spring this year. DD7 has grown quite a bit and NOTHING fits! So, I guess I'm going to have to go shopping for her before the weather gets to staying this warm all the time!

Changed up the whole bed and all the matching linens and stuff into nice springy colors! Mostly have everything organized, just need to sweep still and I plan on doing that while I dye my hair and have to wait to wash it out.

Got some ribs in the crock smelling good. I'm gonna make some rice or something with it later and some type of easy canned veggie. I'm getting kinda hungry but they wont be done until around8pm. Here's hopin KC comes home at a normal hour today!

so, good news, bad news..............

good news..............someone is coming to look at our house in ohio on friday!!! i'm trying not to get my hopes up though.

bad news............. i am getting a subpoena!!!! it's because of work. i had a pt that wrecked his car and got a dui. i didn't even draw the blood. i just took the blood that ems drew and sent it in the tube system (think bank) to the lab. so i guess i just have to testify that i took the blood from the ems guy. i dont' know?? i have to find out if i get paid for this. i think i should since i have to go and it's work related! we'll see. oh, and the sheriff deputy called me at work to get my info. he called back and said he couldn't find me anywhere in the system with my name and b-day in ohio or wv!! i said hmmm, i could probably get away with anything then huh? he laughed and said yeah, you could disappear easily since i can't find info on you anywhere. i have no idea why they couldn't find me. i have an ohio driver's liscense. i'm have a nursing liscense in wv and ohio. i have never had a speeding ticket though!! i think i'm up to 10 warnings, but no ticket. they always say if you want to keep you record clean , slow it down!! it also helps that i work in er and a couple times been pulled over by cops i've seen at work. they let me go. i think they know i could make things much harder on them when they bring someone in for medical clearance.

Thanks Kristel for the update !! Behiors is part of daily routine at work !!Some of them are pretty funny like "You're trying to poison me""" Translates I don't like whats for supper!! Others such as chasing young staff with wrenches isn't too funny !!!! One of these days my calm firm interception ain't gonna work andRosie will be KO'd !!! But I've learnt that showing fear is an invite to disaster !!!! Most of the time they are sweet !! I love the gifts they give us that they've made , they are soooo proud of them!!!

Sarabeth wanted me to take her to school today.. She wakes up and remembers some home work she did not do last night
Trashman just HAD TO COME EARLY... on a day I need to "Double Dip"( fill the can up twice and get it collected on BOTH side of the street)
Spring cleaning for the "TRASHY PEOPLE" !!
AND.. On Wednesday's Scott is never here in the morning as he has a Mens meeting for breakfast that meets at 6:00 am and he does not USUALLY get home till 7:45.. .last week it was 8:45 .

Got my Mammogram at 10:00 then have to run by the "Notary" and get some papers signed. Clean house a bit and sort laundry.

Dawn, I know how you feel. Mine goes away a bunch. and it's never easy.

Mr Diz used to travel once a month. It seems every time he went out of town, something would happen. Car would break down, I would get sick, one of the kids would get sick. Thank goodness for our bff Ollie - he helped me when the car broke down and when I had strep throat, he came over and picked ds up to take him out to dinner while I rested. (He's also the one who took care of the dog when she died)
Anyway - I miss that he travels. Sometime I just need a break from him.
AND, whenever he went somewhere good, sometimes I got to go with him or would meet him for the weekend.

Here is my situation........
I have 3 guys who regular initiate chat with me when they see me on fb.
guy 1 - hardly ever spoke to in hs, but I dated his bff off and on for 2 years in hs and some in college. DH has no problem with this guy. This guy is married and dh says he has no problem with me chatting with anyone who is married.
guy 2 - went out with couple times in hs. He ditched me for a more voluptuous girl (whom by the way he doesn't even remember - lol). Very good looking guy. DH has no problem with this guy and this guy is single.

guy 3 - friends with in hs and college. Dated a little in college, but he also had a girlfriend from hs who went to another college. Nothing serious and really more friends than anything. dh went to same college and has met guy 3 before, but does not know we actually dated. dh has a big problem with me chatting with guy 3. Says it is because this guy is single. Guy 3 is not a good looking guy and was always a friend I could talk to. After dh and I got married, I didn't talk to him anymore unless we ran into each other on campus b/c dh was so jealous. DH knows I've chatted with him on fb and asked me not to anymore. I figure it's harmless. The guy is in another state. It's not like we are going to see each other face to face. DH even asked me, "If I asked you to take him off your friends list you wouldn't do it would you?" I said nope.

I still haven't done my taxes. I figure we won't get anything back because I have some self-employment income. Last year our tax advisor did an estimated tax based on what I thought I would make and told me I didn't need to do prepaids. Hopefully we won't have to pay in.

DH got a really good bonus that is going fast.
We had to get new brakes and rotors on the car.
Our garage door cracked at the top, so that had to be replaced, plus our opener was not working and had to be repaired.
We had tons of medical bills from last year. Our deductible was $750 an individual, plus 20% coinsurance. With 2 surgeries for dh, it ended up being a lot.
I'm hoping nothing else happens. We will use the rest for our June trip and our short October trip.

DH has a business trip in Orlando May 3-5 and wants me to go with him. I don't want to go. Our APs expire May 3. I want all of us to start our APs in June so that next year we can take a trip right before they expire and not renew next year. He says I can just relax, go to the pool, read a book while he is in his conference. We could go to DTD Sunday and Monday evening. I think I would rather just stay home.

I'm trying to figure out what I have to get done this morning. Both girls are going to school! I have a few things to get done around the house. I know I have to run to the bank. I may also spend a bit of time on the Wii Fit since I don't think I'm going to make it to the gym today. I've got to take Max to the vet this afternoon. Hopefully we'll figure out some sort of treatment plan that will keep him going for awhile!

Uh. I don't know.
1. I don't own a scale. I hate them, they hate me. Mutual hate. I just go by the simple tenant:
If I can't button the 18's, it's time to stop getting fries with my chicken sandwiches.

2. I am mostly going to the gym because I believe that phyiscal exercise is good for you. I don't really care if I lose weight (I'm not hung up on that) but I do care if my heart is healthy. Of course, one follows the other, so I guess I will eventually.....

3. When I'm home every day, I tend to sleep alot. Since starting the medication and getting into counselling I am way more aware that these are the activities of a DEPRESSED person. Forcing myself to go out among the people keeps me mentally healthy. I think.
