Good morning to everyone. I just got back from taking my doggy to the vet. He was throwing up yesterday. She gave him an $85 shot :scared1::scared1::scared1: to settle his tummy. We think it might be related to me trying to save money (which seems ironic now...) by buying the Hartz drops instead of the Frontline at the vet. We put the new drops on him Saturday night and he was throwing up the next morning. :headache:
Oh no

okay, what's a trick shot??? hope you had fun with it!! :rotfl2:
See reply above!

Well I'm back !!The new sove isbeing delivered saturday!! It is one of yhose glass tops that are easy to clean and it has TIME BAKE !!I have sooo missed my time bake
Wow you're a quick shopper :thumbsup2

Busy week planned. DH graduates on Sunday :woohoo::yay::woohoo: so we're planning and packing and cleaning. We've got some fun stuff planned for Gainesville (and a drive by visit to the dept of entomology for #1 son) and then we're off to play for a few days :banana::banana: I can't wait!
Fantastic :thumbsup2

Well I had a crappy morning! First, the power goes off in the middle of the night from Thunderstorms so I wake up a little late but no big deal.
Oh no, your day can only get better now

Been to the trick show, it was good, he basically did lots of silly golf shots with big clubs, bendy clubs, giant tees, off his knees etc etc. I also tried out some new clubs and hit them well so I'll be getting them. Not for a few weeks though as I have tons of competitions in the next few weeks so don't want to muck up :thumbsup2

Glad I started my day over huh? :cloud9:

Yes, it does sound like a great thing that you started your day over. Congrats to your hubby with the job!:thumbsup2

And yes, I'm having goat problems---Daran comes home for lunch and yells "hey---YOUR goats are in the yard!"
I went out in bedroom slippers and yes,,,,,,,,they greet me in the front yard baaing happily and eating the grass. I got them back in by myself but still don't know how they got out.???????
AND---they won't go in his nice new goat barn----it has cute beige siding to match the house.......and they seem to hate it........they chose to sleep out in the rain.

:rotfl2: I'm sorry this just made me laugh. Didn't they not want to sleep in the cold, rain and snow a few weeks ago and that's why you built the new barn?

AND---they won't go in his nice new goat barn----it has cute beige siding to match the house.......and they seem to hate it........they chose to sleep out in the rain.
Maybe they don't like beige? :rotfl2:

We are doing absolutely nothing today. My house is a mess since the kids have been home since Friday and are off today. I have a ton of laundry to get to and dishes in the sink that need to get done. I at least have the family and living room cleaned up.
Don't worry about your house, hope the kids stop fighting

Good Monday Everyone! :goodvibes:

Sounds like everyone had a nice Easter weekend. Myself, well... I was in a food induced coma yesterday. We went to brunch at Knotts Berry Farm.... ooohhhweeeee! it was good! The rest of the day was pretty low key... Andy worked late and missed being with us the whole day. :guilty:

I had a loverly scare this morning...

I dropped Maddie off at school this morning as usual, except a bit closer to the parking lot than normal, as it was so crowded and we were a bit late. I told her to run to class so she wouldn't get marked tardy. I watched her run to the gate as I pulled away, and then I watched her walk back out of the gate. WTH?? I pulled over to the side of the school to see if I could see her walk down the corridor to her classroom, but I sat and didnt' see her and then I started to freak out. Got home and called the school to make sure she actually went to class. The office lady freaked me out when she yelled "OH MY GOD!" when I told her what happened. She put me on hold and ran down to find Maddie. It was the longest 5 minutes on hold of my life! :faint: She got back on the line and said Maddie was there. WHEW!!! :worship:

I can't wait to pick her and hug her, then choke her for doing that!

Gonna hit the treadmill now - I'm still a bit worked up about it, BBL.

*********************************************

V - :lmao: at Leo and church!

Kat - WTH? That guy needs a smack down! :headache:

Janet - cute pics! :)

TE - Wow, your DD has sure grown up! She's very pretty! :goodvibes

Mel - :thumbsup2 on SD's braces!

Kate - :wave2:

Hi Everyone else!

Car guys called (already! impressive!) and the diagnostic pinged as a "misfire" of a spark plug. They checked, and the van has never been tuned up - and it's a 2002 with more than 100K miles. :rolleyes1 Whoops! So... It's not that bad, but it's necessary, and it's right around $500. Could be worse, and we need this van to last at least one more year, so... What can you do?

It could have been worse ::yes:: Glad it wasn't anything serious!

Good morning to everyone. I just got back from taking my doggy to the vet. He was throwing up yesterday. She gave him an $85 shot to settle his tummy. We think it might be related to me trying to save money (which seems ironic now...) by buying the Hartz drops instead of the Frontline at the vet. We put the new drops on him Saturday night and he was throwing up the next morning.

So, I would say that it wasn't worth the $10 I might have saved just to need a $120 visit. She said I did the right thing by giving him a bath as soon as I realized he wasn't feeling well. Hopefully he will continue to improve and we won't have to go in for blood tests tomorrow. I have to treat him like a baby, though and slowly let him have small amounts of food, then wait and see if he keeps it down.

Hope he is feeling ok!

Janet~ Great pics, thanks for sharing.

great pics !! he is getting big!

Thanks :goodvibes

Busy week planned. DH graduates on Sunday :woohoo::yay::woohoo: so we're planning and packing and cleaning. We've got some fun stuff planned for Gainesville (and a drive by visit to the dept of entomology for #1 son) and then we're off to play for a few days I can't wait!

:yay::yay: Tell him COngrats from the Fockers:thumbsup2

To answer Dawn and Deb's questions....he requested ice cream. And we are going to Coldstone Creamery so I'm sure he'll add all kinds of things that will be hard to chew!

MEL

Gummy Bears and anything else he can fit in there right;)

Plus I just don't like driving it but find it is a good compromise for free Camp Mimi for 5 kids.

As the saying goes...if it is free it is for me.

I always stop at mom's on the way to work to get coffee but her power is out too and she has no coffee. I tell her she is fired and that if she can't be more reliable than that then I will just start getting my coffee somwhere else (for those that don't know my mom I was kidding).

:rotfl2:

Then as I drive to work an 18 wheeler clips a 5 gallon bucket causing it to come over to my lane and I can't swirv to miss it because of traffic. So I have to run over it. It gets stuck under my tire so I have to pull over to get it out. No damage done but I think my heart stopped beating for a second or too.

 Glad you are safe:hug:

So I start my day over. Get to my desk and DH calls....
The guy who interviewed him called and said he wants to make him an offer but they are very corporate and he cannot make one because he has to meet with ALL of the principles and that just hasn't been possible yet. However, there is a project that he needs help with and wants to know if he can start tomorrow as a contractor!!

That's great news Debra:cool1::woohoo::yay:

Debra--yes, that's my Abby--she's 15 (well, 16 next month as she reminds me frequently...)

Will she be getting her permit now:idea:

And yes, I'm having goat problems---Daran comes home for lunch and yells "hey---YOUR goats are in the yard!"
I went out in bedroom slippers and yes,,,,,,,,they greet me in the front yard baaing happily and eating the grass. I got them back in by myself but still don't know how they got out.???????

I'm sorry but this just made me :lmao:

OK...off to get the kids some lunch and break up yet another fight.

Hope the day gets better Lori!

Been to the trick show, it was good, he basically did lots of silly golf shots with big clubs, bendy clubs, giant tees, off his knees etc etc. I also tried out some new clubs and hit them well so I'll be getting them. Sounds like fun Jo.:goodvibes

-------------------------------------------------------------------

So, I go into the ladies room to, well you know...as I turn around in the stall my cell phone fell out of the case (I must not have had it snapped closed) and FELL INTO THE TOILET:mad::mad: So, now my brand new cell phone is DEAD!:mad::mad:

Can I have a do-over like Debra did?

/
Well I just folded to loads of laundry and did dishes !!The girl are cleaning the kitchen (don't do dishes!!)cleaning bathroom and living room thn we are off to Delta Sonick!! Then its supper time with leftovers !!!

Well I had a crappy morning! First, the power goes off in the middle of the night from Thunderstorms so I wake up a little late but no big deal.

It is spring break so MIL is taking the kids to different fun places. So she needs our van which means I am driving DH's truck. His truck smells worse than my van which I am not happy about. Plus I just don't like driving it but find it is a good compromise for free Camp Mimi for 5 kids.

I always stop at mom's on the way to work to get coffee but her power is out too and she has no coffee. I tell her she is fired and that if she can't be more reliable than that then I will just start getting my coffee somwhere else (for those that don't know my mom I was kidding).

It gets stuck under my tire so I have to pull over to get it out. No damage done but I think my heart stopped beating for a second or too.

Get to work and realize that when DH and I swapped keys I forgot to get my work keys. So I have to walk around the building to find an unlocked door.

Get to my desk and realize I also forgot my cellphone.

So I vent to some of the machinist on the floor and tell them that I am starting my day over. They agreed.

So I start my day over. Get to my desk and DH calls....
The guy who interviewed him called and said he wants to make him an offer but they are very corporate and he cannot make one because he has to meet with ALL of the principles and that just hasn't been possible yet. Wow! That IS a bad start to a morning!!! :scared1:

I'm glad to hear about the call from hubby, though. :yay:

I've heard you can put cell phones in the oven on 200 to dry them out and they work fine after that. I would google it and not go on what I said, though.
On the otherhand, you could show it to people you don't like and tell them it's wet and ask if they know how to fix it. Then, casually mention it fell in the dirty potty. :lmao:

I'm teasing. Kind of. ;) :rotfl2:

We're headed to see Hannah Montana at 2---anyone seen it yet?

And yes, I'm having goat problems---Daran comes home for lunch and yells "hey---YOUR goats are in the yard!"
I went out in bedroom slippers and yes,,,,,,,,they greet me in the front yard baaing happily and eating the grass. I got them back in by myself but still don't know how they got out.???????

We were supposed to go to HM at 2 also! But, my friend, who we were meeting, isn't feeling well. I also wanted to keep an eye on the puppy.

I miss your goat stories! :goodvibes

And yes Debra---these are the same goats who DEMANDED a goat shelter 2 weeks ago.

I've been strapping hay onto the back of my 4 wheeler and racing down the hill...........followed by a stampede of horses.......dog.........goats..........and my poor little disabled Sugar goat.
And they eat and then follow me BACK up the hill.

Janet----
BA dropped hers in the toilet 2 weeks ago and we fixed it----take out battery ASAP.............take a blow dryer and blow dry on low........then leave all parts open on it for24 hours...........it came back on fine! :thumbsup2

Good afternoon Fockers, can't quote right now just wanted to say hi. Debra, so sorry you had a bad morning, but great to hear about the contractor thing with DH, I hope they get everyone together soon and hire him!!!

I have many phone calls to make so I will check in to re read everything and post later.

I just wanted to say thanks everyone for being so nice to me :goodvibes.

I'd freak, T. And I think it's wonderful that the school office lady took you seriously and went and checked on her. :thumbsup2

How's Waldo holding up?

Janet,
Rice.

Remember a ways back when I put #2's iPod in the washing machine? I stuck it in a bag of rice for a day or two and it sucked all the moisture right out of it. It might be worth a try.

I just wanted to say thanks everyone for being so nice to me :goodvibes.
Aww

******************

So I have a strange question and I really hope I don't offend anyone. I've noticed many (MANY) cars here in SC with "In memory of" stickers on their back windows. One I saw recently had a portrait of a woman and a mini obituary under her name and DOB/DOD. I was just wondering if this is something that is happening all over or if it's specific to SC...or even coastal SC. :confused3

CE- I'm glad your friend is feeling better and able to come home.

Thanks!

So, I would say that it wasn't worth the $10 I might have saved just to need a $120 visit. She said I did the right thing by giving him a bath as soon as I realized he wasn't feeling well.
Ugh, sorry.

My check engine light came on in my van for about 2 weeks and I just couldn't find time to have it looked at. Then it just went off and I am debating on still taking it to get looked at or not. With DH not working I am pinching every penny and poor Abe Lincoln can barely breath because I have such a grip on him.

If D hadn't been here, I probably would have let it go a bit longer, myself. ;)

never had a tune up?? :lmao: oh , you crack me up. sounds like something i would do!!! at least it's not too pricey!

Well, I get the oil changed when I am supposed to, and it's had plenty of work done (more than it should, in all likelihood - we bought it used in 2003) so I just never thought of an actual "tune up" if you KWIM. :rotfl2:

Well I'm back !!The new sove isbeing delivered saturday!! It is one of yhose glass tops that are easy to clean and it has TIME BAKE !!I have sooo missed my time bake!!
n ref.to the "check engine"light or whateve they call it !! The last time mine came on I went to autozone where they run a free diagnostic !! But before they did it the one guy said I'll make bets I know what it is !! I had not screwed my gas cap on tightly enough!! Can you believe that !! Also if you don't switch the engine off when filling up it can make that light go on!!

Congrats, Rosie! And yep, my owner's manual also said it could just be the gas cap, but I checked that and the light still came on - and there was something more wrong with it in the long run.

Busy week planned. DH graduates on Sunday :woohoo: so we're planning and packing and cleaning. We've got some fun stuff planned for Gainesville (and a drive by visit to the dept of entomology for #1 son) and then we're off to play for a few days  I can't wait!

Oh, and Kat...be safe, okay? That guy sounds like a wackadoodle.

Tell him congrats! :) Am I remembering right that you're heading onto WDW?

Well I had a crappy morning!

...

Glad I started my day over huh? :cloud9:

What a day! But I'm glad for your DH! Sounds like a great do-over. :)

AND---they won't go in his nice new goat barn----it has cute beige siding to match the house.......and they seem to hate it........they chose to sleep out in the rain.

:rotfl2: Darn illogical goats...

Yes, she's off today. Both kids are home and driving me nuts.

Sorry, dude.

Glad you will be able to get the van back today. Have fun at tennis!

Thanks, and I sort of did. :rotfl:

I sooooooooooo need the break from him since it seems his candy high has not worn off. LOL
I hear that - I'm sorry for the teachers today. ;)

Could have been worse

::yes:: That's what I thought.

I also tried out some new clubs and hit them well so I'll be getting them. Not for a few weeks though as I have tons of competitions in the next few weeks so don't want to muck up

Woohoo - and I understand not wanting to start with new equipment if you have a lot of matches coming up.

I had a loverly scare this morning...

YIKES!

It could have been worse Glad it wasn't anything serious!

Me, too.

So, I go into the ladies room to, well you know...as I turn around in the stall my cell phone fell out of the case (I must not have had it snapped closed) and FELL INTO THE TOILET:mad: So, now my brand new cell phone is DEAD!

Can I have a do-over like Debra did?
Oh, no!

Was it Kate or S'late whose kid lost an iPod this way, and putting it in rice (or, I've heard, kitty litter) overnight dried it out and it was fine? It's worth a shot. :confused3

I have many phone calls to make so I will check in to re read everything and post later.

I just wanted to say thanks everyone for being so nice to me :goodvibes.

We like you! :goodvibes

***************************************************
We had played, just 4 of us from my team, on Thursday and talked about getting a court today. Then one of the girls got the court and e-mailed us on Friday. All good, except one of us didn't show - we'd not heard from her, but didn't think much about it.

So, the woman I've played a couple of my matches with, who's obviously also on our team, happened to be in the club, and we asked her if she could be our 4th. She said OK, but she was not feeling great and you could tell she was tired, so we ended up only playing 4 quick games, then just practiced serving and returning the rest of the time.

I need the practice on those, so it was good, but it wasn't fun, if you KWIM. :headache:

Oh, well.

We came home and had leftovers for lunch, and now my day is winding down to when the kids will be home. Whoa.

I've done a load of laundry and unloaded the dishwasher. D is saying he needs to be working from here, but he went with me to the gym and is just messing on his personal computer now, so... ;) I will check back!

 Glad you are safe:hug:

That's great news Debra:cool1::woohoo::yay:

Thank you! Thank you! I am super excited about the offer.

I have dropped my phone in the pool before and dried it out and it worked fine. I just removed the battery, opened it up and let it dry for about a day. Good luck

ACK! :faint: So glad she's okay.

Leo annoucned the other day that he thinks he'd like to walk home from school. Uh sure, across the two 8-lane, 50mph roadways he'd have to cross?! Poeple don't walk anywhere around here unless they absolutely have to. :sad2:

We have it a lot here too, it my just be a southern type thing. I truly believe people have to deal with grief in whatever way they need to. That being said, I don't find someone's birth and death dates next to a Calvin peeing on a number on a dirty window that moving. Well, I guess it is moving because it is on a vehicle, but that is about it.

I told my husband, "If I cork it, I do not want my dates on the back of the van:sad2:"

He agreed.

Tell him congrats! :) Am I remembering right that you're heading onto WDW?
Thanks, CE. I'll pass it on. And, no, we're not going to WDW. We're heading to Tampa to go to Busch Gardens and harass V and Leo for a few days :yay:

Okay, I guess I'm glad they are other places. I thought maybe it was just here. What I don't understand is that you DO something in memory of... Did they buy the car in memory of? Do they drive in memory of? I completely agree with what you said about people grieving in their own personal way, I just always thought that "In Memory of" required a verb.

I hate baseball,
:faint: Please stop saying that. You're making me woozy. :rotfl:

But like Miss Nancy on Romper Room would say....
Are you sure you don't watch Regis? Kelly always says Miss Nancy never said hi Kelly, and apparently it's scared her for like! :rotfl2:
Car guys called (already! impressive!)
:cool1: for getting it done today.

She gave him an $85 shot :scared1::scared1::scared1: to settle his tummy. e postponed it utnil Wednesday so I can keep an eye on the puppy. :3dglasses

I told my husband, "If I cork it, I do not want my dates on the back of the van:sad2:"He agreed.
Now there's a conversation I never thought I'd need to have. :lmao:
