Beats me Jodi.. :confused3 This Teacher gave us an assigment.. without instructions..
Kind of like back in College:rotfl2:
Not true. Yesterday we talked about it all.

We've done pretty good on pages here without everyone else posting. 2-3 pages a day is purty good, I say!

I could post more if it weren't for my kids....

DH is going to be gone all weekend at a fire dept. training session, so I'll have to keep the kids entertained. I'll still get online on "Jodi Day" on Sunday to answer my questions, but I might not be around much on Saturday. Trying to figure out what to do with them all day!

Set up a tent indoors and let them play all day! Then for lunch make camp-y foods and smores for dessert. You won't need to entertain them much! You could even do an art project.

Man... Now I want to buy a tent! :rotfl:

We've got a tent. It's actually set up on our deck right now and they've been playing in it for the past few weeks. So, even though it's a great idea, I don't think it's "special" enough for an entire Saturday.

Now that DD7 has been in school for almost two weeks, she thinks the weekends have to be something really special. If it's hot, she wants to go to the pool. And I'm okay with that, as long as she and her sister will play in the water and let me read a book!

Otherwise, we may go to the zoo or the park.

The grocery store I go to is also having a sale on Saturday, so we'll have to run up there too. I just wish DH was going to be home at least a little bit because I hate taking them both to the store. Oh well, he leaves early Sat. am and gets home Sunday evening. At least that's one less kid I have to worry about, right?:rolleyes1

Yeah, I guess that wouldn't work. After I posted it, I thought about all the carp they'd haul into the tent and seemed like a bad idea! :rotfl2:
Good luck! I know how you feel. When K works late, I'm so tired of entertaining the kids already that it makes me really stressed. He'll be working all Labor Day weekend, so I'll be in your shoes then. If the shows would come back on at least I could relax a little at night. :rolleyes1

Dawn...that is an awesome idea!!! I just may have to do that with mine sometime next week before school starts.

I went to Lindsey's orientation a little early. It was to be at 4PM but my sitter cancelled on me so I took both kids in to meet her teacher and get the handouts that I needed to fill out.

Her teacher seems really nice but I think will be very strict (which Lindsey will need). I think it will be a good fit overall. I looked at the list of kids in her class and there are a few on there that she went to preschool with. I tried finding her preschool pic when we got home to point the kids out to her but can't seem to find it. There are 3 Kindy classes 2 with 18 kids and 1 with 15 so not a bad total class size wise. We live in a very small town and I guess I'm not used to the smaller classes with fewer kids. Heck, the high school I graduated from had 400 some graduating seniors. This will definately be a different world for me.

Oh and I forgot to say I am so happy with their dress code for school. I was thinking they would be really strict and say no spaghetti straps, sandals, tennis shoes worn at all times, etc. But nope, the school has no A/C so spaghetti straps are allowed along with sandals (as long as there is a strap on the back). So I'm a happy mama and with that. I thought I was going to have to go buy more shirts because half of her summer wardrobe was going to have to be elimated because of the spaghetti strap thing.

The only bad thing is I can only dress her in cute dresses/skirts with the cute matching shoes on Mondays and Tuesdays. I guess the day she has music classes she can wear her cute outfits but Wednesday/Thursday/Friday she is to wear tennis shoes. And yes, this disappoints me because I'm obbessed with my children's clothing. LOL

ETA - For those of you who have kids in elementary school what did your girls wear on gym days? Jeans? Leggings? Did they do skorts at all on those days?

That is a nice class size. I heard a teacher in Office Depot Saturday saying there are 5 Kinders and they all have about 25 kids. :scared1: There's no way my son would do well in a class that large. He's an active kid and I can just imagine him getting in trouble for not sitting still! :rolleyes1

I remember B just wearing whatever she wanted with tennis shoes on PE days. I always made her wear shorts under her skirts, though. Even on the playground she needed them. The best thing to get is the Danskin brand bike-shorts style shorts at Academy. They only come in black and white (maybe light pink), I think, but at least they're not bulky.

Here the kids can't wear shorts or tank tops. How crazy is that?! It's 100 degrees here! :sad2:

My DD's 2nd grade class only has 20 kids in it. But the 3rd grade classes each have 27. I think our kindergartens are all under 20 though. I heard that another elementary in our district has at least 25 in each kindergarten class. Hopefully they'll be hiring another teacher!

Been there, done that!

Our kids can't wear spaghetti straps, but they can wear shorts and tank tops. But, it's so gosh darn cold in my DD's classroom that she's been taking a sweatshirt to wear! But in the winter, it gets so warm that we don't even bother buying sweaters because she'll never wear them!

:scared1: speaking of school I forgot tonight is OPEN HOUSE.. and Meet the Teacher.. missed the 5:00 :headache: so I'll catch the 6:00.

Not been my day at all.
But at least I got a TR in.
Oh and BTW Jodi... I HATED TOT I can not see me riding that thing again.
I hate freefalling... The rest of the family can HAVE IT.

My friend just called and her MIL died last night. She couldn't talk too much about it since the girls were in the car with her, but it already sounds like everyone's at peace more than Tuesday when I last talked to her.

Prayers for your friend and her family:hug:

Here is a question for the fockers to answer:

What is the most daring thing you have done on purpose or not on purpose?

I'm sorry, Dawn. I'll be praying for her and her family. I'm glad to hear that they are at peace with it. I'm sure it's a relief to know she is no longer in pain.

Hi Did I get forgotten ?I am here too! I,m answering first 2 questions anyway!!

My favorite candy bar isMilkyway!
In 5years I want to still be alive and well at my age that is a sensible goal!!

I think that is a sensible goal for most of us

My favorite candy bar is pure Hershey chocolate. Well, the top of the list is a Godiva chocolate bar, but that is hard to come by.

In the next five years I want to have written a book, and started taking my Master's class to become a teacher.

The most daring thing I have done was drag race on a sports car. It was very, very stupid.
