Oh, CE, that's a hard one. I think all you can do is honor her wishes right now. It's so much to deal with. You'll be there for her in time. But right now she has asked to be left alone. I'm sure she knows you're thinking of her, and would do what you can, but if she's said no calls, I guess you have to wait. And the waiting is awful. :hug: :hug: :hug: To you and your friend.

Thanks. :hug: I would do meals or whatever, except that she'll be in Ireland, you know?

I think that you should respect her wishes...but let her know you are there for her. Send her a card...or drop her an e-mail...or maybe a little gift just saying that when she is ready...you are there.

Thanks. :hug: I did send a response to the e-mail this morning that said I'd been wanting to call but since she'd asked us not to, I hadn't, but if SHE wanted to call then I'd be here.

Oh forgot to comment:

CE - That is a tough situation with your friend. I understand your wanting to do something for her but still respect her wishes it is a hard place to be. Here's a hug for you and your friend. :hug:

Thanks, Lessa. :hug:

Don't call. Really, if she asked specifically, she needs to not talk right now. That said, maybe send off a card or note or cookie-gram to say you're thinking about her? :hug:

Thanks, V. :hug: I should call her DH for the address in Ireland so that I can send something there mid-week.

I agree with just sending her a card or a little happy. When she's back home and things have calmed down, she's going to need you more. :hug:

Thanks, Angela. :hug:

Quick catch up
Jen - Glad Jon is feeling better
Mel - Best of luck today with the eyes
CE - While it may be difficult, I agree with the others that you need to follow her wishes and not call.
All - Thanks for the kind words for ds. Dd told me a little bit ago that ds did not see the guy laughing. It was not the guy giving him the prize but another guy off to the side. I am still mad and admire dd that she did not go off on the man making a bad situation worse. Since the manager of Wade Shows doesn't care about it's customers I will go to the fair office and let them know how I feel about their chose in carnivals.
I am sure I am missing many and I am sorry. Ds has me jumping today with his PixOs.

Jo and CE ~ Are you both welcomed to piles of laundry and housework?
Not much as I washed at my Dad's :thumbsup2

Oh, and Rye is gorgeous. Nice area. My BIL lived there a few years ago. I think it's only about 5 hours to MA from there, so CE's probably just a bit more than that!
Oh Good!

Rye is very nice and maybe an hour from me
:thumbsup2

Congratulations to your sis! Then maybe it won't be permanent.
It's meant to be for 2.5 to 3 years but you never know! Look after your feet you don't want shots they sound painful!

Wow! So is this a temp move or permanent?
2.5 to 3 years, but we'll see!

I'm still fat! If I lose the 4 pounds, I"ll look exactly the same as last year!
T you are so not fat, you're gorgeous :goodvibes

Hush now. I've seen your picture. And if you can hide behind an 11 year old girl while at the pool, you're not big at all.
Exactly :rotfl2:

Welcome back Jo. Nah, wasn't working...insomnia. I think I caught it from Kat.
You'll be good roomies then :rotfl2:

Shh, I drive fast. :lmao: Should take me only 4 hours... :rolleyes1
:rotfl2:

I have to get the hot bod so that when I become a nurse I can catch the eye of a handsome rich doctor.
Oh definitely :rotfl2:

Yup...in his cast. You'd have thought he had ants in his pants...err...cast...the way he was squirming around.
OMG a bug in his cast :eek: :rotfl2: and great you heard from the ER people, hope heads are rolling for the way you were treated!

I'm too tired to catch up, but I just wanted to say that I'm home. Mom's in ICU overnight and will move to a regular room during the day tomorrow, hopefully.
:hug:

I got my Disney paperwork in the mail today! That vinyl pouch sure smelled good. I'm so excited!!! 19 years guys! I'm excited for all of you that get to go in the next few days also. We sure will be busy on these boards the rest of the year!!
Fantastic :yay: I still need to catch up on your preTR!

Well,,,kinda a crappy day for me...guess its my turn huh?
Oh Carrie, we all have days like that, I lost it with the girls today too because they just kept arguing at each other :hug:

DS went out of town Monday and returned today. So, instead of living it up, I sewed curtains for my bedroom. They look really good and I am pretty proud of myself because I'm not really domesticated.
Sounds good, any photos?

And on the subject of health... who's watching the Olympic opening ceremonies with me tonight?! I love, love, LOVE the Olympics.
Saw some of the opening ceremony earlier, very impressive!

Good MOrning all. Wasn't a great evening. Yesterday afternoon one of our 6 foot book shelves in out basement/family room collapsed.
So pleased no-one was hurt!

Well ladies I didn't tell you all this yet but I am not happy with the people who do the rides at our fair.
OMG that is terrible behaviour, laughing at a little boy and trapping you in a ride, never go back!!!!!

We're even having an Olympics "party". We usually have a movie night on Friday and I make pizza, but tonight it's Chinese food and opening ceremonies. #2 and #3 have been making decorations and #2 has been studying the history of the Olympics all week. I'm even making him convert the metric system to US for math
Sounds great except the math :rotfl2:

I find out if the glaucoma dr. is going to cut me again. I'm so scared to hear that it's bad news! I am just hoping that me messing up the drops and FIGURING it out after will change things.
Good luck Mel :hug:

He is on an antibiotic and high-dose steroids...in addition to breathing treatments every 2 hours. Round the clock. And momma is tired. The good news is the fever is gone...he's coming around...he actually ate this morning...and he slept through everything last night. But I'm exhausted. Just taking a break and catching up on the DIS.
Glad Jon is on the mend, get some rest :hug:

Did I not warn you all about the Chinese food. Did I not tell you my scary story.
No popcorn::

O.K.

THis will mess you up... But it might make you laugh too

"Cat IN the Kettle"
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Oh yes, the news in my small world. I had to cancel my non-date for tonight as I have been called in to start work at 4am, I'll be working a 12 hour shift. So early to bed for me tonight and that means no going out to the movies. Don't know if I am happy or sad about this outcome.
I'm sure he'll rearrange :rotfl2:

I'm SO excited. And, as it turns out, I even have some connections. My BIL's girlfriend has several friends on the US Fencing team. And, one of D's groomsman is the Chief of Bid Operations for Chicago 2016 - the drive to get the Olympics there then - and so he's there with the high-ups. Cool, no? I got a really cool (and free!) fleece from him when we saw him in IL.
Sounds good! I agree with all the others about your friend, send her a card/e-mail and offer to be of help and that you'll be there when she needs you!

OMG! That's what I get for teasing Jo about her eye!
Want to borrow my patch :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: I used a washcloth heated in the microwave!

Pssst... I skipped school work and updated my TR. Don't tell on me.
OK :rotfl2:

Well Ellie has new school shoes after having an almost tantram in the shop as I'm such a mean Mummy and make her have properly fitted shoes! They also both bought autograph books, they decided to buy plain ones and decorate them themselves rather than buy WDW ones, plus I bought these and they didn't need to use their spending $ :rolleyes1

Jess and I then went to play golf but after 2 holes it rained so we took the short cut back and then it stopped :rotfl2:

So anyone coming to watch the 2012 Olympics here?

They also both bought autograph books, they decided to buy plain ones and decorate them themselves rather than buy WDW ones, plus I bought these and they didn't need to use their spending $ :rolleyes1

Did she want shoes that were too tight? You are a mean mommy!

Last year, Hamboy was begging for these Aerater (sp?) Skechers and I broke down and bought them, even though they were more than what I wanted to spend. He hardly wore them - wanted to wear his Vans and Crocs.:mad:
I also bought him new jeans and by the time it was Fall, he had outgrown them. I told him we weren't doing any back to school shopping. We will shop when it gets cooler.

School starts Monday. We won't need Fall clothes until late October.

We had to go to school last night to meet the teacher. His teacher is his friend's mom. The one that told me her son would come to my son's sleepover and would call me to tell me what time she would drop him off, then never called or showed. My son and the other 2 boys were disappointed. Oh well. I hope her communication as a teacher is better than as a parent.

i don't have time to quote, but wanted to say hello! also- ce, i agree with everyone to stick to your friends wishes. at least she knows you're there when she wants to talk. :hug:

margie-- :hug: mean people suck!
mel--hope it goes well at eye md.
jen-- glad jon is feeling better
t- so glad you're staying at barbieville!!! and i agree with everyone else, i've seen pics.. you are NOT fat!!!
okay , that's all i remember off top of my head. not at the top of my game today. dh and i had a few margiritas last night!! :rolleyes1

well, i'm taking reg to the doctor at 330. i think she has a bladder infection. she doesn't really complain about pain, but then last time she had a uti, she only said it hurt when there was actually visible blood in her urine!!:scared1: she has a very high pain tolerance, but doesn't handle light touch (like tags on clothes). i'm sure it's all related to the autism and the sensory issues. but she went to the bathroom like 4 times in an hour today and wet the bed last night. she hasn't wet the bed in 4 yrs, so i'm sure that's what it is.

so all you croc expert fockers out there------------- help a sister out!!

i;m ordering online crocs for me, gage, reg. i'm having trouble with sizes. my son wears a boys 5 and reg wears 2 girls. i wear 6.5. the boys 5 equaled a womens 7 according to size charts. but that doesn't make sense to me. also, i wear 6.5, so should i get 6 or 7??? also looking at cayman vs beach, what do you think???

:eek: ANd you all say I chat too much.!!

I'm so tired... :guilty: The kids yelling at each other woke me up at 7:15. I had to get up them because I have so much to do today.
I need to get groceries, clean house and get B's schoolwork done with her so she can go to a sleepover at 2. If I can get all that done, and K mows in the morning before we pick up B, then I'm hoping to get back to Austin to visit my mom with the kids. That made me tired thinking about it.

:hug:

Well ladies I didn't tell you all this yet but I am not happy with the people who do the rides at our fair. I have not went for the last two years and what happened this year just confirmed it for me. Two years ago I had one of the workers keep me trapped on a ride. He did it on purpose and I felt so trapped I have not went back. They also sold me a wrist band for my ds and then refused to let him ride the kids rides. He rode them one day then the next they said no. I talked to the managers about all of it and they were of no help so I do not go. This year my mom wanted to take the kids and I told her yes. My dd told me at dinner last night that a worker was laughing at ds. Ds has a slight stutter and while trying to say thank you for a prize he won, a worker was laughing at him stuttering. . I guess my mom was not there at the time just dd and ds.

:mad: :mad: :hug:

::yes:: We're even having an Olympics "party". We usually have a movie night on Friday and I make pizza, but tonight it's Chinese food and opening ceremonies. #2 and #3 have been making decorations and #2 has been studying the history of the Olympics all week. I'm even making him convert the metric system to US for math :scared:

What a great idea...now I know what I am having for dinner tonight:thumbsup2

Ok.. Janet brings up fish... We are having "FISH ISSUES"

Our Betta went from being a miserable, sluggish, unhappy fish... to a VERY VERY happy content fish.
He is building a "Bubble Nest"
A month ago I really thought this fish was going to die... he looked awful. So we put some live plants in the tank, more gravel, and he began to cheer up.. and EAT... now he is thinking LADY FISH (Hello Somebody)
And from what I have heard.. they want Multiple Lady Fish...( BAD BOY FISH)
and if they only have 1 lady friend... he will wear her out.

So I told Sara... he may just have to a bachelor the rest of his life...
DID NOT EXPLAIN all the rest.. but she already knows about "that " and had I explained WHY he was going to stay a bachelor... then she would have been Creeped out.;) :rotfl: Much less I tell her he would need more than 1 lady friend.. :scared1: BAD FISH !!

We have a boy Betta in out tank, but we also have Mickey Mouse Platy's, an algae eater, and some black mollies. The Betta seems happy enought and they all seem to be fine:confused3

Ok, the house is clean! Yippee! I have to jump in the shower. Today is the day, Fockers. I find out if the glaucoma dr. is going to cut me again. :guilty: I'm so scared to hear that it's bad news! I am just hoping that me messing up the drops and FIGURING it out after will change things.

Are you back yet?

Oh, and miraculously (as soon as they heard we were leaving town for FL and needed a sitter) the IL's decided that they can't be here till mid Sept. Isn't that a strange coincidence?

Boy that is strange:rolleyes:

Oy. That's all I have to say.

I am absolutely exhausted.

Hope you were able to get some rest and the Jon is feeling better:hug:

I know it's not about me, but I guess it's a matter of feeling like she's one of my best friends and wanting to help, but not knowing how. :sad2: Is the best thing to do nothing, since that's what she's asked? I am helping watch the kids next week whilst she's gone, but that doesn't address her sadness, if you KWIM...

I have to agree with everyone else. REspect her wishes and don't call. SHe knows you are there, especially since you will be helping with the kids. SHe will call you when she is ready:hug:

This morning my little boy asked me to take him to "New Yuck City" to see the "Statute uf Yiberty". So of course I'll be planning a spring trip to NY next year. :lmao:

Cool. That's only a train ride for me!:thumbsup2

Ack! I'm dealing with this darn turtle Evan got for his birthday. Don't get me wrong, he's adorable - but costly! I really don't want to spend the money on this flippin' thing at this point. What choice do I have? I feel like giving him back to my brother, but the kids would be heart-broken.[/QUOTE}

What are you going to do with him while you are away?

Pssst... I skipped school work and updated my TR. Don't tell on me. ;)

:cool1:

So anyone coming to watch the 2012 Olympics here?

Are you inviting us to come stay at your place:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Kat - thanks for the pics on the Breaking Dawn event. I was going to buy Twilight because everyone says it is so good, but there are several bad reviews on Amazon, saying the actual writing and character development is not so good. Even if the story is good, that kind of stuff drives me crazy and I don't think I would like it. What is so great about the book?

There is just something about the love story of the books, its just really captivating. I read a lot and rarely get this into a series! A lot of people are complaining about the last book but I think since its the last book people are never going to be totally happy. I know sooo many people who love the books, its worth reading the first one to see if you like it!!

Just taking a break and catching up on the DIS.

SO glad things are getting better!!!! :hug:

Oh yes, the news in my small world. I had to cancel my non-date for tonight as I have been called in to start work at 4am, I'll be working a 12 hour shift. So early to bed for me tonight and that means no going out to the movies. Don't know if I am happy or sad about this outcome. :confused3

I'm sure he'll give you a rain check! ;)

I am helping watch the kids next week whilst she's gone, but that doesn't address her sadness, if you KWIM...

You are a great friend for caring! Maybe you can go see her?! I can see how phone would be uncomfortable esp. if she breaks down, but if you are there in person you can hug her and be there for her. Good luck deciding!:hug:

This morning my little boy asked me to take him to "New Yuck City" to see the "Statute uf Yiberty". So of course I'll be planning a spring trip to NY next year. :lmao:

Well you have a great tour guide to help you out! Just lemme know!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So it's about to rain! :headache: I was about to get ready for a bunch of outside errands we have to do, that I waited for KCs day off for, and now I'm about to get rained out! I guess if it doesn't last too long we'll go later.
Anyone have big plans for the weekend? Not me! :rotfl: We are staying in so we can save that little bit of last minute cash for WDW! I'm planning on finishing packing as well.
Hope it's a great Friday for you all!!!:hug:
LL - you go girl, you show them who they are dealing with!
Good MOrning all. Wasn't a great evening. Yesterday afternoon one of our 6 foot book shelves in out basement/family room collapsed:scared1: Luckily the kids were outside when it happened. So after work we went to Lowes and bought a new one and spent all night putting it together and restocking it, the rearranging other stuff around so we can move the fish tank down there so it is out of the way for the contractor.
I was glad to come to work this morning just so I could get a break.
Oh Janet:hug:
We will be DVRing them. We have a 08.08.08 party to attend tonight. Should be fun!
that does sound fun:thumbsup2
Dawn ~ I hope you mom gets out of ICU today and on the mend.
I totally missed this, sorry Dawn, I hope she will be o.k.:hug:
Well ladies I didn't tell you all this yet but I am not happy with the people who do the rides at our fair. One of my dear friends, S - a mom from my twin playgroup - just found out whilst I was in IL that her mother has lung cancer. She only moved to NH for college - she is from Ireland and her parents and siblings are all still there.
I agree with the others, send a card and let her know you are there if she needs you:hug:
This morning my little boy asked me to take him to "New Yuck City" to see the "Statute uf Yiberty". So of course I'll be planning a spring trip to NY next year. :lmao:
First I live about half an hour from NYC and second there are hotels that you can use DVC points at in NYC, just letting you know....
Pssst... I skipped school work and updated my TR. Don't tell on me. ;)
Already posted;)
OOH, we could have the Focker ABD trip then that Z and are have been planning;)
I'm planning on finishing packing as well.
You're not done yet:scared1: :faint:
:thumbsup2 Would you like us to come hang up some Chinese lanterns and Olympic flags, too? :lmao:
Great ideas!!!
B's going to a sleepover, so I'm going to DVR the opening ceremonies and do a big sha-bang tomorrow instead. Chinese food, lanterns (Thanks, Kate!), and we're going to read the Magic Treehouse book "The Hour of Olympics" while we drive to visit mom tomorrow. I also downloaded an activity book that can also be used as a lapbook from a website for $4. Here's the link in case anyone else is interested.
If he's moving soon, maybe it's a not such a bad thing. Unless you wanted to love him and leave him, Lessa! :lmao: ;)
I am trying to honor her wishes, but I SO wish I could do SOMETHING. And I want to hug her. What would you all do? She's leaving tomorrow, and if her mom goes before she is scheduled to come back, her DH and kids will fly over also.
I know it's not about me, but I guess it's a matter of feeling like she's one of my best friends and wanting to help, but not knowing how. :sad2: Is the best thing to do nothing, since that's what she's asked? I agree with everyone else. Can you drop a card on her door today before she leaves? Maybe you can even make a little airplane care package and leave it for her. Then she wouldn't feel like she had to talk, but would still feel your hugs. :confused3
Last year, Hamboy was begging for these Aerater (sp?) Skechers and I broke down and bought them, even though they were more than what I wanted to spend.
:sad2: A wants those. he only has one pair of shoes he weres at any given time, but they are expensive. Especially for 3 kids to each get a pair.:eek: The girls wear lots of different shoes and only tennis shoes to PE, so they get Payless tennis shoes. :rotfl:
I would like a trophy, please, Katt. I got the house cleaned, got groceries, did school with the kids, and served the kids a hot lunch made at home. :banana: now we can chill the rest of the day (after I take B to the party) and go to visit mom whenever we want tomorrow. I'm glad it's all done. :)
I did get to talk to my mom, so that was nice. They're sending her to intermediate care, but they're waiting on a room still. I don't mind her having extra help and care. It makes me feel better. :cloud9:
:rotfl: #2 just finished that book this morning! He's so annoyed at how poorly the women of ancient Greece were treated. :cloud9:
I hope everyone enjoys their dinners. The Chinese food industry can thank me later :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:
Oooh, good idea! :thumbsup2
We're definitely planning on going and watching it :thumbsup2
well, i'm taking reg to the doctor at 330. i think she has a bladder infection. she doesn't really complain about pain, but then last time she had a uti, she only said it hurt when there was actually visible blood in her urine!!:scared1: she has a very high pain tolerance, but doesn't handle light touch (like tags on clothes). i'm sure it's all related to the autism and the sensory issues. but she went to the bathroom like 4 times in an hour today and wet the bed last night. she hasn't wet the bed in 4 yrs, so i'm sure that's what it is.
