My friend here who has breast cancer bought herself a pink go-go wig- decided she might as well have fun with it. :upsidedow

Good for her! :goodvibes

It's my sisters job (BIL is a teacher) she is an HR Director for a company in London and their NY office is having trouble so she's going to the rescue, huge package $ wise too!

Congratulations to your sis! :cool1: Then maybe it won't be permanent. :rolleyes1

I have that in my left heal! It is such a pain! Did he give you exercises to do too? Before I get up, I need to flex my foot upward and down and around, pulling the muscles and nerves from their frozen state. I also need to make sure to wear shoes with arch support around the house at all times. I bout myself a pair of lime green FIT FLOPS and they have been awesome! I have a physical Therapist neighbor/friends who said if I don't get some relief by fall we can do some kind of shots...:scared: Is it in just one of your feet?

It's just in my left arch and so far it's not that bad. Although today it hurts more than it has in awhile :confused3. She told me to take aspirin but no exercises yet. I wear flip flops all the time, for now, so hopefully it won't get worse. And no shots!

Oooo Angela I'd for sure not wear "traditional" Flip Flops. I bought a pair of FIT FLOPS, because I too like flip flops. These have arches in them and a high strap. You should look into them, if you really like a flip flop.

AND do foot stretches before you step on it. I didn't and now it hasgotten awful!

My dh got it 3 years ago and it prevented him from training for the Twin Cities Marathon.

Wait, you're going back? Did something change or was I just confused? :
Hmmm... thought I told you guys I decided to stay? Guess not. :confused3 I figured it's a riot to work there and I'll have lots of good stories and the extra cash is really nice.
Yeah and you're going back????
See above. :goodvibes

I'm home :yay: No more sleepless nights :yay: No more smelly nappies (diapers) :yay: But I will miss them and it's definite Emma is moving to NYC, they're looking at the Rye area
Wow! So is this a temp move or permanent?
OK I had a bunch of stuff quoted and replied to and before I could hit submit we had to take someone into custody and I had to log off:headache:
Some people. :sad2:
:lmao:
T - Are you going back on 9/2?
Uh huh... still only part time. ;)
Hey guys,

I just got back from helping my neighbor shave her head. Her hair was falling out all over the place from her chemo so she decided that it was time to shave it all off. You don't think it should be a big deal, but it was pretty emotional. Her DD3 came into the kitchen while we were in the middle of it and started crying while looking at her mom. It was awful. But, I think now that this is over, it will be easier. I think this was the hardest part for her and her husband. Her DH told her that he didn't want to be there for the actual shaving. So, he was working in the garage.

Now it's time to decide on some hats....
Aww, you're a good friend, Jodi! :cloud9:
Interesting morning around my neck of the woods. #2 son was running through the house last night and he hurt his foot. DH and I thought he sprained his ankle, but #2 said he heard a crack. We iced it and elevated it. He could walk on it okay, but he said it hurt. He woke up this morning and it was all swollen and bruised. Not a good sign...and NOT his ankle, but the side of his foot. You couldn't even touch it without him gasping. Off to the ER. He was so worried about not being able to walk in WDW...fortunately, it's not broken. The bone is bruised. BUT, he should be fine by the 19th :thumbsup2
 Well at least he'll be ok before your vacay, Kate.

ok a orthodontist vent moment.......CE, I almost called you at 1, but you're not in my cell phone. BA was at cheer camp....10-8:30............at 11:30, she calls me (I have been at work for 30 minutes), her dang Herbst appliance fell out....again.............I drive 40 minutes to see her whilst calling her ortho..........they don't have doctors in today...........so I say I'll bring her in tomorrow.........and then I leave her there............just now, they said, the dentists are both at a meeting tomorrow and suggest she wait till Wed when the decide to work again.
I respond "So Dr. Woods' dental advice is for my 11 yo child to not eat for the next 6 days???"
....so they are getting an assistant to come in tomorrow am and look at it.........she can't fix it cause she's not a dentist.  Sometimes I hate small towns--only practice here.
WTH is a herbst? :confused3
Wow, you too:yay:

I think I found the pounds you 2 lost:sad2:
Yeah, don't let the weight loss fool you - I'm still fat! :lmao: If I lose the 4 pounds, I"ll look exactly the same as last year! :rotfl2:

Wait, I thought you were quitting, ugh, I have no clue what's going on around here:sad2:
Yeah, apparently I forgot to send out the memo. :headache:

Hi Michelle! Good to "see" you! :goodvibes

Hmmm... thought I told you guys I decided to stay? Guess not. :confused3 I figured it's a riot to work there and I'll have lots of good stories and the extra cash is really nice.
See, this is a win-win....extra chuckies for you, entertainment for us.

 Well at least he'll be ok before your vacay, Kate.
Before he left for the ER, DH had him convinced that being pushed through the World was the way to go. I kind of wonder if the child wasn't disappointed.

Yeah, don't let the weight loss fool you - I'm still fat! :lmao: If I lose the 4 pounds, I"ll look exactly the same as last year! :rotfl2:

Hush now. I've seen your picture. And if you can hide behind an 11 year old girl while at the pool, you're not big at all.

Thanks Z but nope 1.30am and then 5am :faint:

Working????

I'm all packed and ready to go after lunch, hope I don't fall asleep on the drive home :rotfl2:

Welcome back Jo. Nah, wasn't working...insomnia. I think I caught it from Kat.

Hi everyone! Jo sent out the search party - it's your long lost Focker checking in! :goodvibes :
-Michelle

Hi Michelle

CE: Welcome back! :wave2:

FOCKERS -

I can't believe I forgot to share my trimphant news earlier....

I'm down a full 5 lbs.! :woohoo: :yay:

Good Morning Fockers!

WTG, V! I've still got 4 unwanteds hanging around and I've only got 12 days to purge them!

Pffft I need to lose like 20lbs in 2wks. Yeah right! :rotfl: No matter how hard I tried laziness and business just set in. :guilty:

 to everyone else who needs them.

:thumbsup2 So how far is it for you to drive, you know like when I visit her??? :goodvibes

It only took me about 3 1/2 hours. Not bad at all! :thumbsup2

ok a orthodontist vent moment.......CE, I almost called you at 1, but you're not in my cell phone.

Ack, sorry.

I think this is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Welcome home, CE. Now to unpack, clean, and repack :thumbsup2

Thanks!

Jo and CE ~ Are you both welcomed to piles of laundry and housework?

Housework, yes - laundry, not so much. I was at my mom's, so I came home with everything clean except what we wore in the car. :thumbsup2

CE and JO: Glad you're home! Oh, and Rye is gorgeous. Nice area. My BIL lived there a few years ago. I think it's only about 5 hours to MA from there, so CE's probably just a bit more than that! :thumbsup2
Shh, I drive fast. :lmao: Should take me only 4 hours... :rolleyes1

hey girls. just a drive -by!! i have to go fix dinner , then soccer practice for gage and regan.

Hi, Rachel!

HI CE, I feel the same way. Good to have you back.

Thanks, Mo!

Hmmm... thought I told you guys I decided to stay? Guess not. :confused3 I figured it's a riot to work there and I'll have lots of good stories and the extra cash is really nice.

Thank goodness I wasn't the only one confused! :rotfl:

CE: Welcome back! :wave2:

Thanks, Z!

Congrats on the weight loss guys! I have lost 5 pounds this past month but I can't really tell the difference yet. I can't wait to be back in school and have a gym membership included in my student fees until then I will keep using the Wii Fit and try and get out for my daily walks.

The school gyms are both pretty good. If I go to one I get a "free" membership to the Y and if I go back to Queen's then I get a membership to the new state of the art gym they are building. I have vowed that I will make use of it! I have to get the hot bod so that when I become a nurse I can catch the eye of a handsome rich doctor. ;) :rotfl:

This is just not any way to treat a patient. I live in a small town and can understand how you feel.

That reminds me. I am the ast. for my son's team and the coach has not called yet about anything.

No you seemed to have left out that little detail of your life.

Got Bug the PixOs today at the store. I then realized if I had ordered it from TV I would have gotten a lot more of the little beads. Try explaining to a 4 year old the idea of waiting for it to ship when they see it right there at the store. It just isn't happening for this toy. He loves it and has made his first master piece and is giving it to Mema. I am just not feeling the love from either of my children today.:lmao:

Hi gang!! Been a crazy week and it's getting late so I'm just here for a bit.

So Michael got a NEW cast on Tuesday. He went for his 1 week follow up x-rays, etc. and we're already on our 2nd cast:sad2: . Monday at daycare he was in the sandbox :headache: (that I told him to stay out of) catching bugs :scared: and when he let a handful of sand go, the bug that he caught was no where to be found.

Guess where it was hiding...

Yup...in his cast. You'd have thought he had ants in his pants...err...cast...the way he was squirming around. The doc came in, Michael told him about the bug and was saying I know it's in there, I can feel his shell  ...so immediately they got the saw and cut the cast off...the one I never got a picture of him in...:headache:

So now he has a new cast - still up to the armpit, but it glows in the dark. Kind of cool I guess.

OH - guess who I got a call from today? The head of the Emergency Department. One of the hospital employees I deal with on the jobsite went to the Vice President of the hospital and told him about our ER visit and the VP went to the ED Director gave her my number and told her to call me. She was mortified at the things I was telling her and couldn't apologize enough.

I told her that I appreciated her apology but the reason for my complaint is more to prevent this from happening to other people. I volunteered at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for nearly 5 years - on the hospital board, the Family Advisory Board, the Children's Hospital Parent Council, The VON Network...I said I was well versed in patient rights and family centered care and that I was lucky to have known people like (big shout out:thumbsup2 ) Rachel that told me about putting ice on Michael's arm. I reminded her of the demographic of our area and asked her what would be the outcome if it had been someone else's little boy who'd been discharged for the weekend with no splint, no sling, no directions to ice the arm and what if that same little boy had gotten an infection from the wood chips not being cleaned out before they wrapped him up? I told her that the Orthopeadic (sp?) surgeon had already noticed a difference in Michael's xrays from Friday to Monday, so what if it had been another patient who didn't have the advantage of the advice we did and whose parents didn't know that they could speak up?

Well, she was going to be speaking with every single staff member that had contact with Michael (and us) that day, starting with the idiot who was going to send him home and the one who got pissed when I asked her to clean the arm before she wrapped it - they were on duty today.

:thumbsup2 Score one for the little people! Ok, off my soap box.

And speaking of drama...I just finished Twilight. OMG - I couldn't put it down!! I don't know why but I just had to keep reading...

Now, sadly, I have nothing to read at the beach tomorrow though :sad2: . I'll have to order the others. So thank you all for recommending it. And it's all your fault that my haircut Tuesday night came out wayyy too short!:headache: I had the whole salon talking about this book and the guy that cuts my hair (Jerome) and I got on to the subject of vampires. Well, he got all worked up and excited talking about how sexy vampires are and Barnabus was his first crush, blah blah blah...before I knew it - my hair was GONE:eek: Back to square one again in my quest to grow my hair out...

I'm not too sure if thats upstate or out towards long island, i'm leaning towards upstate which to me is as good as cananda ! If its not in the 5 boroughs of NYC (manhattan, brooklyn, bronx, queens or staten island) then I am clueless!

I used to go to Rye a lot as a kid - Playland baby!! No body mentioned Playland that I saw - it's an amusement park and a beach all in one. Had a ton of good memories there...Rye's nice. Or - it used to be - it's been years since I've been there, but it's not too far outside the city that I recall.

This must have been incredibly difficult for you both...and that poor baby. How brave of your friend to just go ahead and shave it off.

My sentiments exactly Kate - Jodi you're a great friend.

Interesting morning around my neck of the woods. #2 son was running through the house last night and he hurt his foot. PHEW - for a minute there I was like, "NO - NOT YOU TOO!!"

Jen, I hope you and Jon made it through the night at home and that his fever is down.

I must've missed this - Jen hope you guys are ok!

Hush now. I've seen your picture. And if you can hide behind an 11 year old girl while at the pool, you're not big at all.

:lmao: Thank you - I tried telling her that last year!

V - Way to go on the 5 lbs!! 2 thumbs up! I was down 2.6 last night at WW. Sure - I get ready to quit and NOW I start losing. Although Tony said (and he's probably right), "You'll only be up 2 lbs next week".

My treadmill arrived on Tuesday - Tony's going to put it together on Saturday WOOOO HOOOOO

Well Fockers...I'm beat - going to bed. Have a great Friday everyone!!

I have completed the laundry, read ALL of Breaking Dawn (loved it) and finished my TR update. I have just celebrated with a bowl of soy chocolate and peanut butter ice cream.

GO ME!!

Now I'm watching Miami Ink.
BTW: Go V and T! Good job on the weight loss. I have been awol from WW for the whole week. I needed a mental health week.

MEL:woohoo:

I'm too tired to catch up, but I just wanted to say that I'm home. Mom's in ICU overnight and will move to a regular room during the day tomorrow, hopefully.

I'll read today's posts tomorrow morning. Good night, Fockers :goodvibes

It was ALL drama at my house this morning. It shouldn't be that hard to get four independent kids out the door. This morning Tyler FREAKED out over his hair and it took me twenty minutes to just get him to come out of the bathroom.Peyton was up in the middle of the night scrubbing his new shoes with a toothbrush and then this morning he couldn't find his bus form that I signed last night and practically hyperventilated when I suggested that he turn one in this afternoon.Rebekah tried to sneak out in holey shorts that used to be Tyler's and proceeded to argue when I said there was NO way she was going to school looking like a homeless person.Rachel woke me up at 3:00 am too inform me she was not EVER going back to school. This morning we had to drag her screaming out of the bed.She said she would puke on the teacher and I would have to pick her up from school early.

OMG. How do you keep your sanity.

I don't clean before leaving on vacation, sadly, so my house is still somewhat of a wreck from the prep, and I didn't want to clean whilst my dad was just sitting around here, so tomorrow is all about getting ready for company. :scared:

HELP!!! :rotfl2:

Do pixies clean? I'll send you some.

I can't believe I forgot to share my trimphant news earlier....

I'm down a full 5 lbs.! :woohoo: :yay:

Better still, my Big Pants are loose! :cheer2:

And best of all, I feel strong and energetic and nothing hurts! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

:cheer2: :cheer2:

So, he was working in the garage.

Now it's time to decide on some hats....

I had a good friend that went through this about 2 yrs ago. She said one day after a shower she started drying her hair with a blow dryer and when she looked up into the mirror she was in a hairy snow globe. She said she laughed and cried at the same time. She said wigs were just too hot. She preferred hats or bandanas.

ok a orthodontist vent moment.......CE, I almost called you at 1, but you're not in my cell phone. It isn't just small towns or orthodontists. It's everywhere. We have had a devil of a time getting an appointment for DH on the chemo. consult. All paperwork and incompetance related.

Got Bug the PixOs today at the store. I then realized if I had ordered it from TV I would have gotten a lot more of the little beads. Well,,,kinda a crappy day for me...guess its my turn huh? :headache: I flipped out on the kids and just kinda lost it al day!! I just screamed at them for not doing anything and making messes. and all I ever do is wash dishes and clean up after everybody...Sam (15) refused to shower..i flipped!!! I even started to cry. which kinda freaked them out a little. Annie came up to me and said "Dont worry mommy, your going to work soon, so you`ll be alone then" :guilty: I felt soo bad! even the new dog decided to stay on the deck and lie down..I feel bad for the kids because we havent really done anything this summer and they are soo bored!! I have to say that I had not taken my Zoloft in 4 days. so I think that triggered it. I cant wait for our weekend alone in WDW!!!

Oh my Ed! It was NOT a good day in R.I.

Sorry to hear that. I'm having a glass of Merlot for you. :lovestruc

I'm sure the kids will understand if tomorrow you tell them that you had a crazy day. We all have them. Kids are remarkably resilient.

Glad you are liking Twilight. Cheer up. Tomorrow will be a much better day.

We got 11:42 central time Ed. For the tough day! We all have them. Not proud moments. BUT REAL!
