I was so excited to pull up to Wilderness Lodge since we had not been there before, and we were not disappointed. It's lovely!
While we were checking in, I asked about being the flag family and not surprisingly, there were no open dates. However, we were surprised to learn we had automatically received a room upgrade. Concierge baby!
After changing into our bathing suits, we headed to the pool bar to get drinks to take to the "quiet" pool. No pictures in swimsuits.
After hearing many good reviews, we decided on dinner at Artist Pointe. The restaurant wasn't very crowded and the CM's were all very hospitable. We started with the spring salad and cream of mushroom soup. Both were
very good.

I rarely eat meat, but the beef tenderloin sounded good, and it was.
DH got the signature buffalo, which he enjoyed, although he enjoyed the sweet potatoes even more. Our server, Kyle, then came out with the recipe.
Then DH started telling our server about the Fockers and the DIS and whatnot.

Dear, our server is busy and really doesn't care, although he was particularly concerned that no bad reviews would be forthcoming. He did tell me that Deb from Allearsnet eats at at least one restaurant each week to keep her info up to date. Hate that for her!

So Kyle was a very good server and would recommend asking for him next time you go.
DH had berry cobbler for dessert and I had chocolate hazelnut torte with honey lavender ice cream. Yummy, and not too much.
It was my bright idea to go over to MK, see the parade, Wishes, ride a few rides and call it a night. Never staying at a resort before and never going in August before I had no idea how bad an idea this was.

MK was an absolute madhouse! DH was not having any fun with the throngs of people, heat or me.

We did manage to see Wishes and hop on Winnie the Pooh before calling it a night. As we were walking out, we noticed the mass of people waiting for the monorail, and thought "glad we're not in that." Until we got to the boat for the WL.

I know people do this every night at MK and it's no big deal, but we honestly had no idea it was this busy. But we made it back to the room and were able to relax.
In the morning, DH decided he had been off work too long so we had breakfast, and headed home.
I did try to book a room while we were there for October at the Poly, but no dates were available. So we may just stick to being day trippers.
But it was relaxing, and we did get to spend some time together which was the idea of our trip in the beginning.
