Team Focker Watch Chat Part 5.5: The Less-Cursed Version

Hi girls! Thought I'd post the update to my TR over here too for those who I don't "see" over there. Hope all is well. I won't try to catch up. How is Jodi doing? I have been thinking about her.


I haven't been around much since school started. It seems the new school year sunk me even before it begun. What has kept me busy over the last few weeks...



It began with a mini family trip to the great north of Minnesota. Where we sat by the lake each morning, listening to the call of the Loons.

We enjoyed swimming, canoeing, Kayaking, biking and shopping.

At night we sat by the fire and roasted ourselves and a few marshmellows. (not sure what is going on with this uploading pic).

We visited Lake Itaska and Headwaters of the Mighty Mississippi.

And the it was back to school. 1st grade for one and a few days later the 1st year of preschool for the other.

Which has brought me to chauffeuring children around all day, play dates, dance class, Ice Skating lessons, volunteering in classrooms, Meetings for Parent Councils and even a few evenings of scrapbooking.

Am I already exhausted?

Who would have known that being a SAHM could make me busier than I ever have been in my life?


But I am enjoying ever bit of it.


Miss you all! I hope to getting my but in gear soon. I won't be able to keep up with you. Won't even try to get #4 spot. Butt will try to pop in as much as I can. Hope all is well, we are off to a grand opening art gala for my ds. He won first place at the state fair for one of his art projects.

Only able to be reading now because Jim is cooking dinner I hear ya about all the running around. Jimmy just started school on Monday and already we have had back to school night, open house, orientation. Plus Jim went back to work last week and I went back to work today

I did it - booked CBR. I just couldn't bring myself to book All Stars; something kept saying "don't do it!" and I listened!

Good afternoon all. It is my first day back at work and let me tell you how it is going...IT SUCKS! My desk looks lke a disaster area, I have had 3 meetings this moring and 1 more this afternoon, and my feet are killing me becase it is the first time I have worn real shoes since August 18th.

I tried to win the PA Lottery's $1000 a Week for Life so I didn't have to come back...it didn't work

Jimmy didn't have such a great day at school yesterday. He kept trying to leave the classroom So far today he is doing great according to the principal, so we will see...

hi T!! just wanted to say your spreadsheet idea for packing clothes is just fabulous!!! i packed regan's clothes. well, everything from my spreadsheet (plus more) was in her suitcase. i'm looking at it like, okay this is not enough clothes!!! i had to walk away from the suitcase to keep from putting more clothes in!!! wow, i completely overpack, but not this time , thanks to you girlfriend!!

It is great isn't it? I used one when my kids went with their father and of course he complained about it but I know deep down he was impressed with my mad packing skills. (The girlfriend too).

OK I know this is a TR spoiler but I just posted them on the photo shoot thread and couldn't post them for others to see and not my favourite DISers

I am so worn out today and I'm ready to send Lindsey to bed. DR has been sleeping since about 4:30 PM and I keep trying to wake him up but he keeps snoozing away. I noticed this morning his nose was runny and that he felt a little warm.

But Lindsey's bored because DR isn't awake and I'm trying to suggest things for her to do and she doesn't like any of them. I know what she's really wanting to do (play on the computer) but she's grounded from that.

I might take a walk around the block with her. It never fails that as soon as I leave the house to go anywhere and ask my dad to watch DR that he will wake up and I can hear him screaming and crying for me blocks away.

Sucks about the first day being so crappy, I hate going back to work after vacay. for the Photopass. I'm sure they'll fix it right away and ship you a new one in no time.

I meant to ask you how the weather is in Mid October down there? hot and sticky? or fall like? I`ve only been in May and Sept, and November when I moved to West Palm.

I know last year was HOT we went Oct. 16-18. The humidity wasn't too bad, but it was hot enough to make you sweat therefore if you have curly hair your hair would've curled.

You sure do have to make him watch all the best disney movies! Then maybe he'll get the hint and take u back up for a trip!

I already told him about the one V was talking about.

Thanks. I don't know - she didn't comment much, but she didn't argue, so whatever. I think I at least got out there that it's not all my mom's so called "resistance" about them not getting "outside" help, but without calling her a stupid cow, so I guess that's good!

We went out for a while, walking in the neighborhood. I bought the purse, much to KC's rolled eyes and a book. We also went to Starbucks for some caffeine. Now KC wants to take over the PC and play Spore- his new kick. So i'll probably call it a night! Not too much talking tonight, ok?!

Hi all my Focker Friends!

Sorry I didn't give an update today, but DH didn't leave me a computer at the hospital. But I do have an update:

I AM HOME!!!!!!

Yep, you read it right! My doctor came in this morning and gave me a list of four things I had to do before going home:

1. Eat real food (done last night at dinner)
2. Take oral pain meds instead of IV (done at breakfast this morning)
3. Be able to walk (done this morning around 10:30 with my mom)
4. Pee -- I won't share the details of this one!

So, when the doctor came back after office hours, she filled out my discharge papers and I was home by 6:15pm!

I'm really feeling pretty good. Not a lot of pain at all. I'm going to take it easy for a few days, but I don't have any driving restrictions. She said I could drive as long as I'm not on narcotic pain meds. And I haven't really taken anything since this morning.

Thanks so much for all of your well wishes and prayers! They definitely worked! I'll be on more tomorrow, but I think I'm going to go relax on the sofa for tonight. Love you all!

Shame Shame....tsk.

Now we have this strange thing going on with our refrigerator. Every now and again we are seeing a puddle in front of the freezer side (it's a side by side). But it is strange because there is about a 4 inch gap from the fridge to the puddle. The puddle is long. We checked the pipes under the floor and there is nothing wrong there. We assume it is coming from the freezer, but I don't know. We turned the water off to the fridge and it still did it. It happens about once a week. At first we thought it was the kids, but once the puddle was there in the morning - before the kids woke up.

I know, I know!!!!
Our freezer does that too! This is what it is:
When you dispense ice cubes out the door, sometimes one stays up in the "chute." Then as it slowly melts (very cuz it's sort of still in the freezer...) it gets just small enough that it shoots out. Bouncing to a stop near the freezer door. Then it melts.

Seriously. Ours does it too!

We wanted to get a better battery operated tv. Apparantly they don't make them anymore or no one carries them.

Because they are doing away with analog television signals. Regular tvs with ears (and no cable) are going to be completely obsolete in January 09.
