AWESOME CE!!!! I am so jealous!!!!

Thanks!

I think it is tomorrow. B's is Wednesday and my mom's is today, so I remember thinking, "I don't know anyone who's Bday is Tuesday!" We have my twin nephews' bday, my mom's bday, the dog's bday, B's bday, my FIL's bday, and a cousin's Bday all from the 17th through the 22nd!
I'm mucho poor right now!!!

I know at least 4 people with the 5/22 birthday, including my grandpa. I know several with the 5/24, and several on 5/25, including my mom. It's not SO bad as I don't do presents for any of them but my mom, but it always strikes me as a busy month for that kind of thing. People sure have fun in August, no? :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

CE- you lucky, lucky girl! time to shop, time to pack, time to jump up and down!

i've never been to nice. i've heard it's awesome. omg! lucky, lucky yippee!

Thanks! I'm very, very excited, but I know I am nowhere cool enough for either Nice or Paris... :rotfl2:

CE ~ I'm so glad that everything worked out and you are able to go! That is so fantastic Make sure to take lots and lots of pictures...we'll all be waiting to see.

Thanks, Kate! :hug:

CE---WOW! r u serious???

Yes ma'am! :goodvibes

Awesome...Ive only been to South America...what a great trip you will have.

Thanks!

That is awesome!!

Paris is one of my best memories!!!

Thanks! I loved :lovestruc my 2 days there in 1998. Dr. Belle & I went as chaperones for her sister's h.s. French Club trip, as part of a 10 day 5 country tour. :rolleyes: We had 20 minutes in the Louvre. I'm VERY excited to get a bit more time (though I'm still only there 3 1/2 days...)

OMG CE that's fantastic, so near yet so far from me

I'm telling you, hop the Chunnel train and get over there, missy! :goodvibes

Yep Ellie's Birthday is tomorrow the 20th, it's just I'm too busy ummm golfing tomorrow to bake it then

Happy Birthday, Ellie! :hug:

Jo said:
Ummmm because thats how they spelt their name We also spell it Kathryn!

I have a SIL Kathryn. :thumbsup2

Jo said:
Well we're back from the talent show and Ellie and her friends came SECOND She was so excited, I am bragging here but Ellie was so good, I had loads of people come up to me to say what a fantastic voice shes got!

WOOHOO! WTG, Ellie!!!

Tomorrow, I am supposed to go to a grievance counseling session with my 'dad' and 'brothers'. I am thinking of also canceling it. As is, I am NOT looking forward to it. That whole thing is a mess... I would much prefer hanging out at home in bed with the flu than dealing with real life stuff.

:hug: Jen.

I didn't even take it as the school are normally so strict about no photos because of people posting them on the net

:scared1: Who would do such a thing??? :rotfl2:

Right off to wrap some pressies, I'm normally all done weeks in advance but the older they get the harder it is to buy for them

What's she getting aside from the Wii? I want a Wii. :rolleyes1 :hug:

I don't know whether to give the girls their gifts at the party (after b's Bday and before C's Bday) or on their actual Bday day. What do you guys do?

Our thing is that family presents are on the birthday, no matter what. We usually have the party on their birthday, anyway, but we separate our gifts out for dinner or something, and this year, since we did the party so early, we had them wait until the actual birthday to keep it special, too.

Just MHO, but especially in your case as B would have to wait but C would get them early, I'd consider doing it on their actual days. :hug:

Ab's BD is 5/29---I thought she said "no party" this year and then the other day she asked if she could invite 7 girls for a sleepover. I hate slumber parties....and 7, 15 year olds does not sound like much slumber to me.

Oh, dear. I'm sure she'll have fun, but that's a lot of girls. I think I was always limited to 4. ;)

Hi girls! Just a quick drive-by post today - Evan started with the same virus as Maddie last night at 3:30 am. Vomiting and his fever actually peaked at 103! I had to leave him with Andy to go to school, as I had an exam. I failed miserably! I could not concentrate on the exam with only 4 hours of sleep and a very sick child at home. We ended up taking him to the Dr. - nothing they can do since it's a virus. I knew that, but just wanted a real medical opinion, KWIM? I am exhausted and heading back to the couch. I'm still dying to tell you our Sunday morning drama!

I hope Evan is feeling better today. :hug:

Wholly CRAP!!!! How exciting!!!

Of course you'll miss my birthday while you're gone, but you can bring me back something fabulous!

Sure, when is the day? :goodvibes

I'm so jealous but so excited for you! It will be awesome. When we went, we started in Paris and went south to end up in Nice. May was unusually warm when we went so who knows what the weather will be like for you. The Formula One Grand Prix of Monaco was going on while we were there and was very cool to see. DH loves racing but hates France and for some reason won't take me back! Have a great time with your DH!

Thanks! The 10-day actually doesn't look terribly great. It isn't too bad, but it's not too warm, either, which seems like more of an issue in Nice. When I was in Paris in 1998 it was unusually hot for June and we were dying, so "not hot" in Paris might actually be a good thing. ;)

My only problem is that I don't love the clothing I have for the 60's type weather. I love a lot of my summer stuff, and a lot of my winter stuff, but the in-between is iffy. And I'll be in Paris. :sad2: :rotfl:

YAY!! CE!!!! Did I miss something though? how did this happen?

Thanks! D got a trip there, just found out on Friday, and his dad and stepmom are able to come watch the boys, so I get to go. They don't mind if I am in the hotel room, of course, and though I can't go on his plane, once a year his company allows a spouse to go on a trip and they pay airfare. :cool1: I have to cover my own meals (D's are expensed) but, free flight and hotel make it completely easy.

I think this is their nod to the fact that their pilots have no commercial flight benefits, trying to keep up a bit with the airline pilots' one good thing that we don't get, if you KWIM.

The co-pilot and flight attendant's spouses are going too, so I think we'll have fun with a group when we want, but can easily go off on our own, too.

Or do you have other advice????

I think everyone's hashed it out as far as anything I had to add. Just a :hug: .

ce-- paris, wow. that will be sooo much fun!!!!

Thanks!

Jim, however, is home sick . He was up all night . Hopefully JImmy and I won't get it. LUckily it is raining so his softball playoff came was postponed until Thursday, so hopefully he will be better by then.

I hope Jim feels better soon. :goodvibes

I had to delete 25 images just to post the last post, so I thought I'd start over... ;)

Anyway...

Dinner last night was fun.

Although MIL had checked in Sunday afternoon and again Monday morning, both times with me telling her, "It's D's only day home, we'll come down as soon as we can but it won't be first thing in the p.m., we'll call you when we leave." she still called immediately after the graduation to see where we were. :rolleyes: Ummm... We're just leaving, thank you.

I knew D had an early flight this morning, but didn't realize HOW early. If he'd come back here, he'd have had to get up at 2:30 this morning. So, he decided to get a hotel room for himself right by his airport, so at least he could cut out the 45 minute drive this morning. So, we took both cars there, then he came to Boston with us, then we dropped him back at the hotel after dinner. But, that did add to our travel time quite a bit and we didn't get down to MIL's hotel until about 3:00.

We went to the Commons for a bit and the boys played on the playground, then we just went to dinner.

My Wild Atlantic Salmon was fantastic, D's tuna was just OK. The boys had mac & cheese and pizza. :rolleyes:

They were super well-behaved, but around 8:00 they were starting to fade, so I HUSTLED us out the door before things ended on a bad note.

D's mom is more than a little bummed that her ex is covering the whole week when we go away, but what can you do? They are civil but not comfortable with each other, so I can't even imagine a one night "hand off' as it were, if she came to relieve them toward the end.

I'm still a touch on the worried side as D's dad & stepmom have a) never stayed with us for more than 4 nights, ever; b) have never had the kids alone, even for an hour; and c) are directionally challenged, even with my directions and two days of prep I'm not sure they'll find the school. :rotfl:

I know everyone will survive, but I don't want 4 people in my house to be miserable for a week. I particularly worry about Woody. I think you know he's my "challenging" one at home, though very good at school and in any social situation. He usually tries really hard to be good in front of the grandparents, but I don't know if he'll make it for 8 days in our house, if you KWIM. And I don't know that they'll know how to handle it. D's stepmom never had kids, and D was 16 when they got married, so she didn't "raise" him at all. D's dad was not, apparently, terribly parental even when he was still in the house every day before the divorce, so... :confused3

But, everyone will live, and if they never volunteer to come again, well, at least I'll always have Paris. :rotfl2:

~

Not much at ALL planned today, which I think will be good. The boys were so asleep last night when we got home that I just put them to bed in their clothes, but of course as always with a late bedtime, Woody got up at 5:55. :scared: I have a feeling we'll have a crash this afternoon, but I'm prepared and we'll definitely have an early to bed night.

I do need to pick up Frontline for Linus and a prescription for me, so I think we'll go do that right after pickup. It may rain here later (Janet, I think your weather is heading our way) but for now it's nice, so maybe some outdoor playtime and then the early dinner/bed will work out.

Have a great rest of the morning (afternoon, Jo!) Fockers! :grouphug:

Haha! Maybe we can meet for a drink... or coffee! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

And bring some aspirin! :teeth:

See ya'll later......

Bye S'late! Have a good time! Hope to see you there! :banana:

New information- My DH is convinced that f our ds goes to this party then he needs to go too. :confused3 He is tired of watching our ds get hurt. I totally understand this~ however I am trying to look at this as a life lesson for our ds too. Not everyone will be his friend (even if he thinks everyone IS his FRIEND...those who have read my TR will get this.) My DS truely like everyone. He really thinks that everyone he meets is his friend. (I'm gonna let him think that as long as he can.):) pure innocents.:cloud9:

I think everyone else has had good ideas...so I just wanted to say I agree with them. If DS wants to go, let him go. But, let him know if he's feeling uncomfortable he can come home. OR send DH. He can run interference. Usually, at parties, there are several kiddos there who don't know very many other people. Plus, they are usually too busy having fun to concentrate on being rude to others.

T - I missed the post about Evan..hope he's feeling better.:hug: I think Jim has the same thing:sad2:

CE - Just give Buzz and Woddy the directions to get to school, they can navigate:rotfl2:

You mentions the Commons and y fist thought was Spencer for Hire:thumbsup2

It's a beautiful spot.

And, you laugh, but I told the kids that they would have to help Gram & Grandpa a lot, :lmao: because they haven't been here in a while and might not know where stuff is or how things work. Woody said, "Like the new TV?" :rotfl: (Absolutely true, btw. I barely know how to work the new TV. But I was meaning more like, "How t-ball works.") ;)

Thanks! I'm very, very excited, but I know I am nowhere cool enough for either Nice or Paris... :rotfl2:

Very happy for you on this "OUT OF THE BLUE" MIRACLE TRIP. I have never been to Paris... but I do PLan to spend some time there next month while at EPCOT :rotfl2: That is as close as I'll EVER GET. In fact I'll go "Around the World" in an hour or less. BEAT THAT !!!:lmao:

I've never really had desires for places like that... Good thing.. When you stay at home with the kids... the income is USUALLY LESS.. and When one kid has a disability no matter how small.. trips like that will MAGNIFY IT.

We want to do to Disney Land next Summer... with the 3 hour time difference.. not to sure how well that will go. And Plane flights:scared1: Those hours are hideous. We did that once with Joshua when he was 9 months old. Company paid the vacation as it was an awards vacation to Palm Springs at the "Ritz" Rancho Mirage (sp)... Yeah... THAT WAS FUN:scared: He did not sleep on that "red eye" coming home. We had 1 day for Disney Land.. and said we would go back one day.. had no idea that Joshua had Autism and Disney World could be challenging.
Considered driving it and seeing this GREAT COUNTRY WE LIVE IN... but some days my kids can't go ACROSS TOWN with out fighting.. so 2-2 1/2 weeks in the van.. across country.... :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I need to go to Wal-Mart for the grocery shopping.. but I am just NOT IN THE MOOD. WDW is 28 days away and I have the BLUES. :sad1:
Don't want to get into details. Can't even update the PTR.. too blue to do that.

Think I'll go shoot some trains... or at least shred some. that usually puts me in a better mood.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLIE

I didn't realize you couldn't non-rev, but this certainly makes up for it! :thumbsup2

OK Fockers. I am now placing my first garden grocer order. This was a hastle, because I didn't need much, just water and milk, and some basics. BUT, they have a $40 limit, which I get. So, anyway, I hit my $40 mark, but here's my question. Do you guys add the tip into your order? And if so, how much?

Oh That could be a LOADED question. I would tip... and With today's gas prices.. Delivered... Start with 15% ... Then
I'd base it on how quick it got to me.. if they gave me a time.. how close did they keep it ? Friendly ?? So it could be 18-20% . Or it may fall to 10%
That's my $.02 worth.
Not much of a tip I know. Maybe not even good advice.:confused3

Hey Katt,,sorry you have the Blues..:hug: I`m off to Wal mart. so I will pick things up for you if you would like...;)

Since you probably won't meet the delivery person (they most likely will drop off with bell services who does have a fridge) I add 10% when I order for the tip. (10% is standard around here for delivery)

Hey CE - congrats on the trip, I can send Murph with you and see if she is still into stealing wine carafes (if you remember, she almost got me, my aunt and cousin arrested in a Paris cafe for trying to 5 finger the empty wine carafe)

T - how is Evan today?

Jen - sound like you got a good handle on the party situation, sorry DS has to got through hits, but you got the right attitude with it being a life lesson (thought they can be hard:hug: )

Thanks Carrie... But I can't afford to Pay the delivery Charge from RI.
Maybe I'll make it tomorrow.. better.. I am out of stuff.

:hug: :hug: :hug:

Good morning! We're about to head out to go to the dentist. I can't believe I let them make an appt for us at 8:10! I had to set my alarm- I'm normally up at 7:30. :sad2:

I hate the dentist! How'd it go? How is B's mouth doing???

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yucky day out! Rainy and icky...a good day to keep on writing my TR and relax! FYI I undated yesterday...:rolleyes1 I too need to start doing some more planning for August!
It looks to be a quiet week...thank god I need a quiet week for a change.
I'm with Mo - I'd tack on 10% to the order. :confused3
T - how is Evan today?
Evan's doing better today. The vomiting stopped yesterday evening and I got meds in him to get the fever down. He's been fever free since 5am! :woohoo: BUT now he's wanting to go to Disneyland today - poor kids got some major cabin fever. He's been house bound since Friday morning. Here's the kicker - I'm considering it! :eek: I KNOW! I'm bad, but I need a Disney fix! The weather is great, not hot, not too cool - maybe just a stroll around the park might do us both some good. :confused3
:lmao:
Just strap him in the buggie and stroll around the park. It's exactly what he needs to feel better! :thumbsup2
CE- uh... I can't remember what I was responding to... So sad... :sad2:
Katt- :hug: I'm sorry you're blue. :guilty:
Kat- Thanks for asking. There's was drama today. Lots of crying. :sad2:
So, this morning C, A and I all had cavities to fill. I had three b/c my old fillings we coming out and decay got under there. :scared1: Thos shots hurt like a mutha! :mad:
A wanted to be second, and was okay until the drill came out. He didn't like the numbing gel, but he was okay. When he did the drill, A kept saying, "Ow! ow!" All of the sudden the dentist pulls out a shot and started giving him a shot. After, I might add, I was told he wouldn't need to and I had already told A he wouldn't get shots. Poor A was yelling, "Stop! Stop!" :guilty: I tried to comfort him, but the dentist had to stop. They wanted to try nitrous, but A was PI$$ED. I mean, ticked! :mad: When you tick off A, there's no going back. So, he wouldn't calm down and uncover his mouth. He cried and cried (loudly, I might add). They asked me stand in the hall where I could see him to see if he would chill. I knew he wouldn't, so I just waited. He started crying, "I want my mommy!" I went back in and tried to comfort him and asked if I could hold him while they tried to put the mask on. The dentist told me I couldn't 'hold him down' or he would have a bad experience and they didn't want that. I wasn't happy that he made it sound like I was going to cuff him or something. I meant hold and confort him, not force his hands to the table! :mad: So, I told the dentist, "It's too late. He's angry. He's not going to have a nice experience. Can't we get this done since he had the shots already?" But they wouldn't do it. Poor C went in and got hers done and wasn't about to cause problems after A. :sad2:
So, they suggested I go to a pediatric dentist in town (the only one in town) A already had 1/4 of his tooth drilled out at this point, so I needed to get him in quickly. The pedi dentist could get him in tomorrow, but not until 10:20 and he couldn't have food or drink. Then, they would sedate him and wait an hour (so now it's 11:30 with no food or drink for a kid who's up at 7 on the dot everyday), then do the work. Oh, and I have to pay $200 for the sedation up front. :scared1: :mad: :scared1: What?!
I just started crying once I hung up. I was so frustrated and mad that our dentist did those DANG shots without letting me tell A that was going to happen if he didn't open up. I really think he could have been reasoned with until then. :sad1:
Anyway, I called a friend and cried out my frustrations and we are going to her dr. tomorrow at 8 in San Antonio. :eek: She's suposed to be very caring and understanding and will even go to the waiting room playarea to do work on kids if they don't want to stop playing. I hope this works. I don't know what I'll do if it doesn't.
Tomorrow's B's Bday too, so now we cancelled our trip to Schlitterbahn and lunch until we know what's going to happen since they have to work us in. I feel so bad for B, but she's being very sweet about it. I promised we'd go later this week and I'd still take her out to lunch tomorrow.
I'm wiped though. :sad2: :guilty: Is it too early for a drink? ;)
