Loved your photos Janet and it wasn't a horrid photo of you at all :goodvibes
Ditto!
Is she nearly 15 TE? :sad1: :rotfl2:
OMG, TE isn't it sad? My oldest DS is 15. He's so grown up. Makes me want to cry!
Sounds nice Mel, how did the party go???
The party was great. Delish food, good wine and great company. It was us and two other couples. I laughed so hard my sides hurt today! :lmao:
On no V, hope he's ok!
Ditto again! Mouth Boo-boos are the WORST! Poor Leo...and Poor V! :scared:
Well I played my golf competition (well the 1st round) and we won :yay: We were leading by miles then we kinda played bad but we ended up winning on the last hole!!!! It's been gorgeous weather here, quite a few golfers got burnt today!
Great job JO!

-------------------------------

So, today we walked in a walk-athon for the special needs camp that they run here. All four of us went and we did 2 miles. Whew! I kept saying, it's WDW training people! Hup Too!
They did great. There was a minimum of complaining (even from the oldest!) and after they took a pic of us! So, here it is.
100_1091.jpg

The weather was absolutely gorgeous. Now I'm home doing laundry, getting caught up here and watching DS mow the lawn out the window.

Hope you guys had a great weekend. I missed the race last night but I have it taped so I'll be watching that tonight!

MEL:banana:

We're then getting Chinese takeaway for tea so I don't have to cook :thumbsup2

What does this mean?

1. You are getting tea from the Chinese place?
or
2. The Chinese are taking away your tea?

Errr no but he spat on it a few times to clean it :scared: and no David wasn't there but my partners wife was a few holes back, she was playing with a woman though :rotfl2:

MEL:banana:

Sounds like fun Mel. We always to a walk in September for the NICU that Jimmy was in when he was born. Last year we signed up and Jimmy wound up sick so we didn't go, but it is always alot of fun and good exercise:thumbsup2

T - How long is your project supposed to be?:confused3
It's supposed to be a 10 minute long presentation. I've got 10 slides done so far on Powerpoint. I'll prep the verbal presentation this week or later tonight. The Powerpoint crap is the most difficult, IMO.

You skim my posts :headache: You'll pay more attention now won't you :rotfl2:
Just you're golf posts. :teeth:

It actualy turned out to be a nice day here. It's just about 70, so not that warm, but the sun is out. We took Jimmy to get his haircut, went food shopping, and then picked up some mulch so that Jim and Jimmy can finish the planting. Jim is running the lawnmower, Jimmy is playing Planter Heroes and watching Power Rangers, and I am doing 9 loads of :laundy: (don't know how I have 9 loads with only 2 of us in the house:sad2: ).
It's really nice weather here as well. A little boy from across the street came over to ask M&E to play. So they played outside for awhile, whilst I sat and read. Next thing I know, this kid is in the house playing in Evan's room. WTH are his parents? Maddie invited him to lunch, but I insisted they go ask his parents if it's ok. He's still here! And his parents haven't called on him for the past 2 hours! TE says I'm being paranoid. Whatever!
Making Chicken Cutlet, Scalloped Potatoes and Peas for dinner so I will have to go start breading the chicken soon. Otherwise it is a just a do nothing day for us.
I'm making CE's Italian Beef right now. It's become a family favorite! :thumbsup2
Yesterday was DH's birthday. We played softball until it go too dark to see the ball (in other words, we played til someone got hurt) then we took the party into the garage and played darts for two hours. Today I am trying to walk upright. The good thing is I lost a pound yesterday. :thumbsup2
So exactly why can't you walk upright? Too much birthday celebrating? :rolleyes1
:rotfl2:

One more stop-in before I retire the computer for the night...

Thanks for all the hugs - you're right, I'll feel 1000% better once I can scoop Leo up for a big hug! But that won't be until tomorrow. :sad1:

I "presonally reflected" for most of the weekend and the paper is DONE! :yay: Now comes the next project... a Powerpoint. :crazy2:
T? Powerpoint is the bane of my existence. I'm feelin' for you right now.

Sun stuff... I can personally attest to the painful combination of meds and sun. My BCPs make me sensitive, plus I use Retin-A to maintain my "youthful glow" :rolleyes1 so my face literally burns in 10 minutes without protection down here. And as I'm approaching 40, I'm really starting to see the damage in my skin thanks to years and years of sun-worship. No more for me: it's been absolutely gorgeous down here, but I've stayed out of the sun save for running errands. :sad2:

I always wanted a goat-powered lawn mower TE. :thumbsup2

And, HAPPY BELATED BDAY MR. SLAW!!!!!!

Powerpoint is VERY time consuming.

Not paranoid in my book. I would feel like I was imposing if I let Jimmy stay somewhere for 2 hours without checking on him.:confused3

Biy the gutter level keeps getting lower over here, doesn't it:lmao:

I just finished - almost - sort of. I'm sure I'll be tweakin' it all week.

Well, 3.5 hours later I had to send him home. I still haven't met his mother or father. People are strange. :confused3

Something like that.......

:lmao: BTW, Wish Mr. Slaw a Happy Belated Birthday! :cake:

I defnitely wouldn't leave Jimmy if I had never met you. Jimmy has aborthday party for a girl from his old school and the mother said you can just drop him off if you want..um no, you live 2 hours away and I barely know you.

I have been bouncing in and out of the boards all day but had not stopped here. Just wanted to say good night to all and get this back on page one. It was way back on page 3. How did that happen with all you chatty people?

Off to bed..Night All!

hey all, just got home from work, need to relax a little before bed. this is my first chance online today. work was busy.

had a freakout yesterday as my ex called to say that Leo split his chin open in a swimming pool accident. No stitches - they glued it. But not being there, wondering just how bad it looks, has me in pannicky mama mode. :guilty:

Guess what Rachel?! I live on the other side of Tampa Bay! Feel free to pick my brain if you want any insider info. on the area - CE and sharkB8 can attest that I'll give you you want and more. ;) it's a great palce to live, and with property sales dropped off, a great time to buy. Also, we're always in dire need of nurses, so job-hunting would be a cinch for you. :thumbsup2
quote didn't come out right?!

you can't help but worry, it's a mom thing!! btw, how old is leo? i always relate well to pannicky moms that come to the er, since i know exactly how they feel.
so, do you live around st. pete, clearwater area. love it down there. we were in sarasota 3 weeks ago for a wedding. one of my bff from high school and college. it was a parents only weekend for us, missed the kids, but boy did we have fun. don't remember some of it  :rolleyes1 , but that's okay!!!! yes, i definately have lots of questions. we're looking at brandon/riverview area, what do you think?

I have a Dneph 3 who has high functioning autism as well. One year has made all the difference in the world! :goodvibes
I love that you're an ER nurse, my brother is also an ER nurse and my dream job is to be a forensic nurse. See, you fit right in! ;)

i don't like to see so many kids with autism, but it does make it easier now that so many people are familiar with it.
forensic nursing would be sooo cool. are you a nurse now?

Right off to watch Lost :wave2:
you scared me for a moment!! i love lost and thought what?! i'm missing it? then i looked who was posting and thought duh, different country, it's on a different day!!
oh, after reading your posts, i think i want to take up golf as a hobby!!:rotfl:

I defnitely wouldn't leave Jimmy if I had never met you. Jimmy has aborthday party for a girl from his old school and the mother said you can just drop him off if you want..um no, you live 2 hours away and I barely know you.
it is crazy that some parents can just let there kids go to someones house and not even know them or know where they are!! i can believ it though bc there are kids like that in our neighborhood. one kid will come over after school (9yrs old, but has been doing this since he was 7!!) and will stay until it's dark out or later, i usually have to tell him it's time to go so kids can take bath. parents never check where he is or come to get him. i've driven him home before (house is one block over) when it was dark and rainy. :confused3 one time they did call to see if he was at our house, but he wasn't? unbelivable!!!!:sad2:

sorry , my quotes did not come out right. but, i'm new, i'll figure it out eventually!!!:confused3
well good night to all, i'm ready for bed now!! i guess when everyone reads this it will be good morning!!!!!

Hey all!

I started a post last night, but D got really frustrated with me being on the computer, so... :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

We spent the day shopping at Ikea and came home with a unit that isn't perfect but that we liked well enough - and being Ikea, wouldn't break us if we do find the perfect thing in a few years.

But then we got home and D started freaking about how big it is, and the shelf that we bought to go over the TV to hold the center surround speaker was too big (that was just a big "DUH" moment on both our parts.)

So we spent all night going over all the possibilities AGAIN. Please understand that D's not an angry guy, he just gets really frustrated at himself when he makes mistakes like the shelf bit - and then it was "we wasted all day and now I have to go back, etc. etc." I understand his frustration, I do, but it wasn't like I can change anything...

It ended up being a long evening, and then because we were working on that, we didn't watch any more of our recorded shows. I think we've decided to keep this cable box one more day so that we can try to watch a few more tonight whilst we build the furniture.

Then, I finally went to bed around midnight. He didn't come up until 2:00 and then seemed to think I'd be interested in some "couple" time. :rotfl:

Anyway, here's what we got - and that I finally talked him into keeping as the best possible option for now:

We bought different legs - shorter, and less "spindly" looking - though I still think we may just want it to rest on the floor.

It's big, but it will easily hold the cable box, audio controls and DVD player, plus a bunch of DVDs. I assume that down the road we'll end up with some sort of video game system, and there should be room for that, too, though it might kick some DVD's out.

I still don't know what we're doing about the shelf that was meant to go over the TV - there's a shorter version, but it's less wide than the actual TV, and D thinks that might look funny. I don't know why we didn't think about the fact that the stand could go UNDER the windows, but a shelf really can't cover them up!... :rolleyes1

We'll figure something out, though, and this is still the best thing we can do. :thumbsup2

I have to have my thyroid level checked this morning, then pick up the boys. They have tennis later, and then I think D & I will spend the evening building furniture and watching TV! ;)

Hope everyone's having a nice Monday! :grouphug:
