Hi Fockers Just dropping in after another long dayat work!! This weekend I am off 3 days Sat, Sun and Monday!! Can't wait. Tomorrow I go to lunch with the Boss she's treating us. I also got my 6 month eval. Boss is notorius for not giving any scores over 3 ( good) I got 3 fours !! Iwas thrilled !!

First, I thought, "Gee, I should take Leo to WDW for a water park weekend in June. It'll be hot enough for swimming, our seasonal APs are no good, and any additional WP days help us get my money's worth out of the WP APs!"

Then, I checked AP rates for June...

Value = $120 (preferred)

Mod = $163

Hmmm... with a fridge in the Mod, we'd save $20 on breakfast, so a Mod would "only" cost $23 more than a value.

WL = $202

Sheesh... for "only" $40 more than a Mod, we could stay at a Deluxe!

CR = $247

Wow, that's "only" $40 more than WL and we could be on the monorail line!



ETA: NO, I'm not really considering the CR. Or the WL.

I would Love to try an overnight away now that the kids are older... but I have ABSOLUTlY NO ONE I FEEL I could ask to watch them .. especially when one has a disability.Yes I would still worry... but Sarabeth would call if there was a BIG or even small problem.

Yeah, I have a really good relationship with my mom and I trust her completely. D's mom loves the kids but has some spine issues where she can't pick up more than 10 pounds. So, we couldn't ask her in the 0-2 year stages because they still needed lifting. Now she could do it, but she's not retired while all the other grandparents are.

D's dad, of course, is coming the first time. So, I am having a little more anxiety about that - but again it's more that I hope the four of them aren't miserable all week rather than being worried about anything "happening" so to speak.

Truly, maybe it's D being away so much, but I find I'm a better mommy if I have a week away from them. I talk to them every day on the phone, but this will be my 4th long (week or more) trip without them, and several overnights for weddings and such. I just don't mind. Maybe I'm a bad mom, but...

I had your typical mom day. Carted kids to schools, McD's playland with a friend (Ran into neighbors who where there...yep the one with the b-day cool2. DS had a playdate afterschool, we went to DQ for some ice cream and just rallied the troops inside to shower and put them to BED.

Now I need to make my grocery list for this weekend. I am catering a neighbors baptism party. Know what that means ladies????

Another little thing I need some advice on. I received an email from the people we are renting points from in DEC. We are missing a reservation for 2 of our days (one the first day we are to move to BCV and one in the middle). I do not care too much about the first day, as we can always stay at the POP one extra night in the beginning. But I really don't want to move in the middle of our stay~ for ONE NIGHT! They have also wait listed us for our entire stay at BWV. Why we really wanted those resorts is the ease of walking to Epcot. They told me that if something doesn't open up by Friday, they will need to change our reservation to a different resort or cancel it. What would you do? What resorts would you ask for???? Being we are almost 6 months out, would there be anything good left? Currently our dates are: Nov 27- Dec 6. We are staying at POP the first 3 nights (to get us through Thanksgiving weekend).

Baylie said today was the best birthday- even though we spent all morning at the dentist.

Riley's happy with all his Bday toys too. He's wiped out from all the playing!

definately does not make you a bad mom. it would be hard to have the kids all the time with your dh at work. i think i have troube bc i work 3 nights a week, so they're at grandparents 2 days a week. if i was home all the time, i would definately need a break!!!

glad to hear everything went well!! it's hard to believe you had to go all the way to a pediatric dentist just for that. a regualr dentist should have been able to figure that out!!! oh well, it all worked out , that's what matters.

Morning everyone. YES, my sale starts today. It's weird to do it on a Thursday but they do that here! It will be slow, but I'll get the SAHM crowd I'm sure.

It stopped raining for now. I hope it's done! It's FREEZING out though! WTH!! It's almost June for heaven's sake!

And I think I slept for a total of 2 hours last night. The heat was off (cuz its almost JUNE!!!!) and I woke up cold. That was about 3 am. Never did go back to sleep once I started thinking about the sale.

Well, I'm off to pack lunches and then MAYBE get a shower in before I start.

Oh Well that makes me the BITTER MOM It just would not Pay $$$
for me to go back to work as I would have to go PT. Joshua needs me to be at home. What happens to some people is they get stuck somewhere so Long... they then get to the point they forget HOW to Leave. I think that is where I am. It could just be a person at a job.. used to want to leave... then just deals with it... then says " I can't leave" This is all I know. Their Spirit gets broken.

I TRIED one time to leave Scott with the kids while I went to a womens conference an hour from home.( This was 4 or 5 years ago) It was a Friday evening and a Saturday till around 2:00. I wanted to stay in the town in a hotel with my girlfriend. Make it a REAL RETREAT. Scott thought it was silly when it was only an hour away. True... it was close.. but I wanted to get away . He did not understand. So I did not go. It hurt me so much that he told me no. He later apologised.. and told me that I could go... but by then the discount was gone for advance registration. I did not go. Have not tried to do anything since.


Good LUCK $$$$ with your Sale Mel... Make some serious bucks and do not freeze your Keister off out there.

I went to the car this morning and I'd left it unlocked all night with several hundred $ of golf gear in the trunk Luckily it was all still there, it's because I had opened the hood to refill the windscreen wash and forgot to lock the car!!!! Thank goodness it was still there otherwise I would have been in trouble

Oh and boring to you but exciting to me I just got a new driver (golf club)

Katt: From one mom who's with her kids all day to another... I find even going to have coffee with a friend after the kids are ready for bed is helpful. I felt bad for a long time everytime I went to a meeting (and it didn't help that C would cry and chase me down from the porch), but now I know myself well enough to know that if I don't go to Mom's Night Out or spend some time alone every once in a while, then I end up with no patience for the kids, and then I feel worse for being a mean mommy.

I don't go on trips so much, but I have gone on a women's retreat once or twice. It's hard to leave the kids, but it's so worth it once you're there. Plus, you have to fill up your spiritual cup often, or you can't be the mom your kids need. That's why I refuse to teach on Sundays. I am teaching my kids all day every day. I need 2 hours every Sunday that I can worship so I can be all God intended me to be during the week.

Nope, definitely NOT a bad mom. It's funny, being forced to be away from Leo every other weekend, 2 weeks in summer and various other holidays has been a good thing in some ways. If I were still married, I doubt I'd have realized just how important it is that I get plenty of ME time. I'm a hug proponent of moms finding some way to get that time, whether married or single, working out of the home or in.

I'm completely confused... did the people form whom you're renting forget to make reservations for those 2 days? Or is that they waitlisted day-by-day and all but those two came through? And why is Friday the deadline to switch resorts? I have to be honest - that's the busiest time for DVC bookings. But chances are you can find something at either SSR or OKW. If I'm understanding teh situation right, I say have them book whatever has availability for all the days. Depending on the total number of points, you may be able to waitlist the entire stay elsewhere; I'm guessing the compolication is that SSR/OKW typically use less points than say BWV.
