It was NOT a good bedtime night for Jimmy. It started off fairly well. We went up about 9:00 got washed up, brushed our teeth, and I let him come into my room to watch the Care Bears movie (I figured that would put him right to sleep:laughing: ). Actually I think he was a sleep when he says to me that he wants to watch Speed Racer. Um, no it is 11:00:scared1: He throws a major fit and starts crying. Has about a 20 minute meltdown and then passes out:sad2: I wonder if he will even remember it in the morning:confused3
I had one of those evenings last week, whilst my DH was traveling. I really do think that most of those hysterics are due to being over tired and exhausted. I bet he has no recollection of it in the AM. You will though.:)

And she should be giving away those seasons best recipe books not selling them..they make great door prizes!!

I love the cheese grater..everything comes out much better because your using fresh cheese..you can really tell the differance...the grated cheese you buy in the store has additives that keep it from clumping...so everything tastes better and it melts better with the fresh grated cheeses..you can use it for choclate also!! We dont have a dishwasher so its a pain to clean, but worth it!!

Yep, I always use fresh parm (we eat a lot of pasta dishes) and loved the one I had until I warped it. I'm excited to get a replacement. :thumbsup2

When I worked at the University of Illinois after graduating and doing some time as a bartender at Friday's, one of my co-workers did Pampered Chef as a second income. I therefore have a TON of stuff, but it's all now 11 years old or so... I've had to replace a few things here or there (always my own fault for them breaking) but it tends to last really well.

:lmao: CE sounds like you had a very interesting evening. I probably would have been dying of laughter.

I love Pampered Chef, especially the stoneware. :thumbsup2

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I am unable to get to sleep. I was lying in bed and for some reason I started thinking about my future and this human resources program that I am starting in the fall and then my mind went to the "what if's" like "what if I can't get a good placement job", "what if I can't get a job after I'm done the program" so then I started to think about what else I could do if human resources doesn't pan out and I couldn't come up with anything and now I have made myself very anxious and I can not sleep as I am over thinking everything. :rolleyes: I really dislike this uncertainty in my life right now, life is not as simple as they made it out to be when I was growing up. We were always told to get good grades in school so that you get into a good university and then you'll get a good job and meet a great guy, fall in love, get married, buy a nice house and hove 2.5 kids. So here I am done with university and wondering, what now? :confused3 :lmao:
Did any of you ever go through these "growing pains" of uncertainty that I seem to be experiencing?
::yes:: Absolutely. It will be OK. :hug: I still have never worked in the field in which I have my degree, but I'm happy. Met the great guy in college, but we got married a mere 8 years later. :rotfl2: I really know very few people for whom the "typical story" happened.
I hope you get some sleep. :hug:
I'm off, too. I am over halfway done catching up on Jen's preTR, but it's late.
Good night! :goodvibes
CE I was giggling right along with you!
We spent our Saturday night cleaning out the cat litter box, unclogging the bathroom sink and grocery shopping! OH the excitement!!! But we did good food shopping, I am trying to switch to less carb stuff (brown rice, whole wheat flour and pasta) so we got all that kind of stuff.
BTW...there is news on our friend Luis who was afraid he had cancer...the biopsy only showed that his lymph nodes are swollen so they aren't ruling out cancer but are checking for other things at the moment. So it was decent news at least. All except for the fact that he is claustrophobic and has to be heavily medicated for any closed in machine tests. But he's doing well tho!
:hug: Oh Lessa.. First,,you have a great head on your shoulders, and are mature for your age.. You are doing everything right so far..get all the training and schooling you can right now. everything else should take care of itself. take care of what your doing now...
I got married at 21, Never went to college. never had the interest to go. I moved to FL with my then Fiance instead. (not my hubby)
I am 40 now, have 3 kids, a mortgage, (1 month behind) car pmt. Steve has been at the same job for 23 years.I make 7.75 at the liquor store part time...
So believe me when I tell you that you are doing everything right!! I have faith that you will end up where you are meant to be. :hug:
I have my BAH in English, of course it is nearly impossible to get a decent job with just a BAH now a days thus my decision to go into the Human Resources post-grad program.
I wish I had listened to my dad and gone to business school to become an accountant. :sad2: Or that I had followed through with my dream from high school of going to law school. My mom keeps telling me that I am still young and that it is never too late to go back to school but I just keep thinking that if I go into another 4 year program I will be nearly 30 by the time I finish my schooling. :scared1: As you can see I am flip flopping all over the place, HR, accounting, law. :rolleyes: :lmao:
You are young!! There is plenty of time to go to school and decide what you want to do! Everyone has those stressful times. You are definitely on the right track!!:hug:
Thank You, it really helps to just talk it out. I don't even know what got me started on this freak out tonight. I think it has a lot to do with all the grandparent stuff that has been going on lately. My mom's parents are always asking about if I have decided on a career yet, have I decided to go to law school yet (I think this is what they secretly want me to do), am I in a serious relationship yet, etc. So I feel like I am disappointing them by floundering around and not being on a set path. Then there is my grandma out in BC who I also don't want to disappoint especially with all the loss that she has suffered lately with my grandfathers death.
I am probably visiting both sides of the family in the next two months and I am dreading it because I know I will be in for an interrogation by all family members about my "future" and I always feel so bad about myself when I don't have any set answers to give them. :guilty: It also doesn't help hearing all the glowing reports from my dad and family about my genius MENSA cousin who is super successful and landed a great job making tons of money straight out of school.
It is a families' job to ask you all kinds of questions that make you uncomfortable! All you can do is stand by the decisions you make, regardless of who it makes in happy. I understand not wanting to disappoint, and i understand your reasons BUT you have to make you happy first! Your family will be happy if you are happy, they love you.
Believe me I get the barrage of questions ever since I got hurt wrestling and have to stay at home. "What do you do all day" and lovely questions like that. I used to let it get to me, but one day I decided to just let them know I am the one living my life and making me and my husband happy, not them. Now they accept my answers for what they are.
You will be fine!!!! If you ever need anyone to talk to I'm here! You can always find me on AIM too (TinkrBelzViltKat). SMILE-->we're all going to Disney!!!!! :hug:
Okay, well now that I have typed all that out and gotten that off my chest I feel a bit better. I'll probably try and get to sleep again soon. Thanks for the encouragement guys it really means a lot. :hug:
Cool! Yes I know those slow nights way to well.
I never feel guilty Janet, my girls love going on sleepovers :thumbsup2
nope, me neither, i love sleepovers , just not at my house!!:rotfl2:
:
You're gonna love this.... I'm allergic to my own tears and my own sweat! :eek: Yep, it's the iodine I'm actually allergic to. So if I don't wipe the tears/sweat off quickly, I start breaking out in hives. :sad2: Taking Zyrtec daily helps a LOT, but summer sucks.
that's just crazy :scared1: you poor thing!!
Hi all---
just talked to mom and he had a good night and got a shower this morning so that was good news. The specialist has talked to him and remarked that he looked well, but is now reviewing the chart. They have to figure out how contagious he is (in isolation now) and I guess they'll tell us how much risk we have since we were exposed.
The tests should be back tomorrow nite to know for sure what he has, but the antibiotics are working so that's good.
i'm so glad to hear that!!!! :hug:
Oh, and the other cool thing I have to relate is that I am going out tomorrow night for a girls night out! Long Long time since I did that! I am going to a Karaoke night with some of the girls at school (the librarians...lol) that I work with on Mondays! I'll let you know, and maybe post a video or two....ha!
MEL:banana:
woooo hooooo, that sounds like fun!! love girls night out :banana:
Did anyone else see the new Kids on the Block reunion??? I have a friend who actually went and waiting overnight just to see them....wow.
:rotfl2:
I'm off to visit The Mouse tomorrow morning - have a great weekend all! :grouphug:
Tomorrow my girlfriend and I are hitting the Jackson, NJ Outlet Mall and the husbands are going to hang out here, watch the hockey game and let the kids run around like banshee's:rolleyes:
have fun at the mall. girls day out!
Our kids have 2 count down's going.. one for School
that is 15 1/2 days ( no weekends counted)
and the REAL COUNTDOWN...
:mickeyjum 1 MONTH TILL DISNEY !!! :yay: :yay:
oH... AND 99 DAYS TILL THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR STARTS UP ( THAT IS COUNTING WEEKENDS)
:rotfl2: love the countdown till school starts again!!! that one's just for you isn't it!!
I still say nothing can beat my SIL having my nephew. She went into the hospital for appendicitis and came out with a 5.5lb baby boy:scared1: And before you ask "how she didn't know"----She was having female problems for years, was never regular, and was told by the Dr. that she'd probably never have kids. So pffffffth to the Drs.:banana:
:scared1: :rotfl2:
The party has finished and they were all excellent, loud but very good. 1 is still here for a sleepover.
whew... party's over!
Nothing much going on here. Work totally sucked last night. This is the third weekend in a row that we've been super busy and it's not even a high sick part of the year. :confused3
Anyway, just a quick check in. Gotta get ready for work.
you must work my same weekend. i'm here now. kwym, it's been really busy here too!!
It was NOT a good bedtime night for Jimmy. It started off fairly well. . Has about a 20 minute meltdown and then passes out:sad2: I wonder if he will even remember it in the morning:confused3
:hug: bedtime can be rough!!
Woody's currently in a very, very long time-out in his room.
i feel for ya. 2 of my 3 kids are very stubborn.
Another Maddie update... sorry if I'm boring you!:guilty:
The fever finally broke. :yay: Just *poof* it was gone! I would say it lasted for about 30 hours and went away. I'm thankful! I hate to see my babies suffer:
no, not boring! so glad that she's feeling better. it is hard to watch your kids suffer :lovestruc
she also said she could get out here some for the France trip, and she & I discussed the possibility of maybe me just going for the 5 days or so
Then I leaned back on a dining room chair and the back fell off.
i'm giggling all the way through writing this. I fear that no one else is going to think any of this is funny,
okay 1. cool if she can babysit. i mean paris,, wow!!!
2. the chair breaking topped it off..... but the entire story was hilarious!! i was definately cracking up with ya!!
3. i thought the whole graduation thing was squared away. is it worked out now?
