Hi Fockers, just checking in before heading out West!

Had quite the drama today and I thought I was going to have to cancel my trip.

Bonnie (the petsitter) had a DR appointment and sent someone in her place, which I was fine with. Well the woman was moron as it turned out. I have everything ready for Murph to babysit next week. SHe thought she was to feed them dinner ( at lunch time!!!!)

SHe over fed them, they normally get 1/3 of a cup, she gave them several cups and pumpkin (which I do feed them as part of their breakfast) and treats. I actually found uneaten treats in Namath's bed.

Namath was showing all the classic signs of bloat (panting, restlessness, thrist, howling, which in 6 years he has never howled) which is very deadly if not dealt with immediately. Thankfully he should be ok, when they xrayed him his belly it is completely full, completely. And that was several hours after she fed him. He threw up some in the office (which was good as it empty his tummy a bit) and come home a did a big #2, which was also good. They gave him a shot of valium (I was hoping they would give me some) which calmed him down. He is sound asleep now, but I am still a bit nervous so I am staying up as long as I can to make sure he doesn't get sick again. I have to work until 3 tomorrow but it should be a fairly easy day as I got as much done ahead of time as I could. I figure with that long cross country flight tomorrow I have plenty of time to sleep then.

Bonnie is so upset, she met me at the vet's and is so upset about the whole thing, let's just say she let the other woman have it good.

Never a dull moment in this house huh? Oh and as for Rocky, that dog is a bottomless pit, no signs of trouble with him, I think he wishes he could eat like that everyday.

So T, I'm still coming girlfriend! See ya this weekend!

Hi!

I've read all afternoon/evening, but didn't quote earlier, as I had to fight off a migraine. I won!

But since I won, I have been vegging out playing Wii and watching TV.

And now I've forgotten what I didn't just read. :rotfl:

So, Mel, hi! We've missed you, too.

Mo, so sorry, I'm glad he's going to be OK. Have a great trip!

Lori, hope you get to relax.

Jo, sorry about the blogger.

And  to everyone who needs one.

Mel - I was wondering where you were. And your right...they put way too much stuff at the end of the year. Glad your teeth are feeling better and WTG on the bike!

Mo - Sorry to hear about the puppy drama. Have a great time in CA!

CE - Yes, I did get to relax after the kids went to bed. It's not like I did a whole bunch today but I'm just tired. I'm thinking of actually heading to bed before midnight.

HI Mel! Gald to see you back!

Mo- Have a GREAT trip!!!

LONG day here. We kinda lounged around a lot, napped a little even. watched some tv, ate Chinese food. then around 10:30 tonight we went for a walk. We picked up some candy to sneak into the movie tomorrow (lol) and I got me a MC Flurry and KC tried one of those McCafe drinks- YUM! at $2.99 we may have to make that the new coffee stop!

KC is gaming and I am just catching up here and then I'm going to read some.

We are getting up early-ish to be at the Dim Sum spot by about noon. The showing of Angels & Demons is at 1:45pm so we should have plenty of time. I'm pretty sure it won't be as good as the book but I'm excited to see it. I haven't been to a movie since Twilight!

So everyone have a great Friday! Night!

Good Morning!!!!

KAT’s ready for Friday. They are going for Chinese and ‘Angels and Demons’. Have a good time!

JANET got a lot of books at the book fair.

DEB likes ‘Lost’ and needs a recipe for a Lapu. I think ‘Lost’ must have put her in the mood. She found one. CHEERS!

LORI says Lindsey only has 4 days of school left. Linds did fantastic in T-ball. She wanted to have a child smack down with a brat at the game. I love it when parents ignore their kids bad behavior.

MIZ DIZ is planning her DS’s class party. The rest of the parents are slow to respond to her e-mail. Her car developed a mysterious scratch. That sux on both counts.

JO needs to file a copyright infringement against a fellow UK blogger. I would have to call them on that.

MEL says Gus is growing up. She has been busy. Her teeth are better. She is committed to her workout. Keep up the good work!!!

MO had some doggie drama. Everything is OK now. She is ready for the trip.

CE has been vegging and playing Wii. What? This is a whole new side of you. Enjoy!!!

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

It's raining again. Storming actually. :headache: Tomorrow too.
It's not such a big deal since I have to work this weekend.

Ok Focker's Doug has decided on a vacation for 2011. We were eating at our favorite Irish pub the other day and they had a flyer up about their upcoming Ireland trip. They do it every year. That's what Doug wants. I said cool. Here's a link that tells all about it: Trip to Ireland
It looks like a lot of fun. I don't think that the price is bad either. Sorry WDW.

He has been talking about a cruise to Alaska ever since I met him. Now he says that is something we can do when we are both retired (older). He's thinking that kind of trip is easier for when you can't get around as well.:lmao: Whatever!

It's Friday!!! Have a good one.

Sounds good! I'd love to go to ireland. When we got engaged and thought we might have time for a honeymoon (we ended up not going on one until 2 years later - the problem with getting married at "home" when you live somewhere else - all your vacation time is taken up with the going back and forth for planning, showers, and the actual wedding...) I told D I wanted to go to Ireland. He thought I said "Iowa." He was very befuddled. :rotfl:

(Not that he has anything against Iowa, it just didn't strike him as a honeymoon destination. ;))

*****************************************************
It's a grey morning, and I am still sleepy, even though I went to bed fairly early for me.

I agreed to sub into another session of the fun tennis class today. I usually can't play on Fridays because of being at the school, but the kindergarteners are visiting the first grade rooms this morning, so I am not needed. :thumbsup2 The pro runs two classes, a 9-10:30 and a 10:30-12. I said I could do either, and he needed me for the 10:30. I'm glad to get to play, but I kind of wish it was the earlier one. I need to do the grocery store after, so that pretty much shoots my day - by the time I get home it will be 1:30 and that's not a lot of time before the kids come back.

I also need to grade some math superstar papers and run those by the school at some point - probably it would be better before I go to tennis, but that means I need to get my behind in gear and grade them, shower, etc. (The school is about 10 minutes in the opposite direction from the gym, so that adds 20 minutes to my tennis commute.) I guess I'm off.

Have a great day, everyone! :grouphug:

Morning! Hope all is well-ish this Friday morn. :grouphug:

Not much going on here. We've got a very horsey weekend in store: riding lesson tonight, Leo has barn duties tomorrow morning, Preakness Stakes tomorrow evening, and we're going to see the Royal Lippazan Stallions Sun. Fun! :thumbsup2

Janet - have you checked crowd levels for Aug. this week? They changed and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised! :woohoo:

Morning :goodvibes

Kristel, you'll love Dingle...it is stunning  And the Blarney Stone...let me know if there is a 90 year old man holding on to your ankles while you give it a smooch.

Mel, good to see you. Glad all is well.

Mo, have a great trip!

Kat, enjoy the movie. DH really wants to see that one, too. Let me know what you think of it.

V, I know you and Leo will have a great weekend :thumbsup2

:hug: and  to everyone else.

****************************
Did you all see on Mousesavers the thing about the Christmas Carol train tour? I am so excited to see that it's stopping in Charleston. :yay: Silly, I know, but nothing ever comes here, (we don't even have a Disney store!) and it will be great to have a touch of Disney just down the road.

I hope everyone has a great day :flower3:

Ok......calling all bag experts..........I need a bag for the Bahamas.........looking at the bagillini---can't spell that------------which one do you all like for day use? (remember I'm vertically challenged so not too big!)

Morning all.:goodvibes Read but didn't quote...sorry:flower3:

Kristel - Ireland sounds cool!

Kate - 90 year old man:eek:

V - Will check out the levels, I just hope they didn't change best days.:thumbsup2 Have a fun horse weekend.

CE - have fun at tennis.

Can't remember anything else:sad2: Hugs to all who need them:hug:

At work, crazy busy so I will check in later.

Have a great day everyone:goodvibes

Good morning Janet, V, and everyone else.

Mum phoned and she has to stay in at least 48 hours whilst they do some heart tests, apparently she has an irregular heart beat which caused her to collapse when she stood up!
 for Nana, and :headache: to the blogger

I was hoping someone would ask, I'm nosey too!
Don't be silly. You will find that I am a very open person. Too open sometimes in fact...

OMG, me too! I was shocked, and I was in tears and I was laughing - it was great! I can't believe it's over next year, though. Whatever will I do on Wednesday nights?
I had to schedule an appt with my therapist because I foresee a depression coming on until next season.

sounds delicious!:thumbsup2 oops...i mean...ive never tasted alcohol because its the devils advocate and im only 20...:rolleyes1
:rolleyes1

Lindsey did AWESOME! :cheer2: Not only in batting but in the field as well.
:cheer2: for Lindsey

My teeth are healing (sort of) and they only hurt a bit on the left side.
Hopefully soon all the pain will go away.

Hi Fockers, just checking in before heading out West!
Have a good, safe trip!

KC tried one of those McCafe drinks- YUM! at $2.99 we may have to make that the new coffee stop!
I agree. they are about half the price as starbucks and to me just as good. My mama got me hooked on them.

Here's a link that tells all about it: Trip to Ireland

Maybe you could even sneak up on Jo for a visit?

I told D I wanted to go to Ireland. He thought I said "Iowa." He was very befuddled. :rotfl:
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Did you all see on Mousesavers the thing about the Christmas Carol train tour?
I did see that. We may go to Atlanta because that is during fall break!!!

Tell me what you think of this. We have 10 boys on our tball team. 9 of them come to practices and games regularly. THe 10th one - his parents are divorced and I think his mom is abusing drugs from the times she comes. I think he lives with his dad but he works 2nd shift and his step mom has been sick (she had a heart cath done). Anyway, he doesn't come to practices and when he comes to the games he shows up late and usually gets an out because he doesn't know what to do.

Last night our coach said he wanted to kick the boy off the team. I protested and said it is not his fault that his parents can't take him to practice. He argued with me saying it wasn't the other 9 boys fault that either and they are the ones taking the outs and losing the games. I was so upset last night. My heart goes out to this boy. I have picked him up a few times and brought him home and another parent has also volunteered to help but his parents just seem to 'forget' about practice times. I really beleive this boy has a hard life ahead of him and I just don't feel that it is justifiable to kick him off the team. What do you think?

Yes, schools out June 17th and our last Brownie meeting is June 30th. I can't flippin' WAIT!
Why do you finish after school does? Ours always finish before :confused3

Yes...I'm doing a mama brag. :rotfl:
And well deserved, sounds as though she's doing great!

Well, I didn't quote. SORRY! :rotfl2: No way man. Couldn't do it. :sad2:
Outrageous, absolutely disgusting ;):rotfl2:

SHe over fed them, they normally get 1/3 of a cup, she gave them several cups and pumpkin (which I do feed them as part of their breakfast) and treats. I actually found uneaten treats in Namath's bed.
Oh Mo good thing you caught it, hope he'll be OK!

But since I won, I have been vegging out playing Wii and watching TV.
You're getting addicted to that Wii :rotfl2:

Have fun!

I would have to call them on that.[/COLOR]
I did :rotfl2: and she said thanks for them :rotfl2: The Ireland trip looks good and very good value for money :thumbsup2

I told D I wanted to go to Ireland. He thought I said "Iowa." He was very befuddled. :rotfl:
OMG :rotfl:

I don't suppose one of you could let me know, I'm planning 2 friends August trips and I've done what I think will be the best days but just want confirmation :thumbsup2

Played a golf match today, it was meant to be horrid weather but it kept fine so that was good, we lost though. It was a foursomes comp which is alternate shots and my partner kept putting me in bushes and stuff :rotfl2: It was good experience for her though as she is a new member and not very good yet, she will be though :thumbsup2

Yesterday we made mickey head crispy cakes for Ellie's party and they turned out great, I'll post some photos after the party :goodvibes

Maybe you could even sneak up on Jo for a visit?
:rotfl2: Ireland is a long way from me, there again to you Americans it would probably seem just down the road ;):rotfl2:

I really beleive this boy has a hard life ahead of him and I just don't feel that it is justifiable to kick him off the team. What do you think?
That is hard, I can see both sides, how old are they? Do the other kids mind that he makes them lose? Can't they make sure that the practises he does make he gets taught what to do? Could a rota be set up for parents to pick him up? There again I suppose it is his parents responsibility, oh such a hard thing!!!

 I just got back from getting my hair cut and the hairdresser cut it way too short! I hate it, Mom keeps telling me it looks fine but I can barely even pull it into a ponytail! Thank goodness my hair grows quickly but I am sad that it is going to look horrible in the vacation photos. :sad2:

Oh, I'm a big ol' softie...I can't imagine kicking a kid off a team because their parents are messed up. If anything, this might be the one thing he gets to look forward to during the week. Why doesn't the coach step in and see what he can do to help the child get there? Or see what he can do to offer one on one coaching for a few minutes when the child does make it to practice. I just can't see punishing a child for circumstances that are out of his control. How old is the boy?

Kindergarten so 5 or 6 years old. I don't know his record but the coach made it sound like we lost our games because of him. I just don't see it that way. To make it worse he said this in front of the other 9 players so now if we do lose on Saturday I can foresee them wanting to blame this boy because the coach put that idea in their head.

I felt like I was in the minority last night. Everyone else was for the idea of not letting him play on Saturday because he missed every practice this week. I guess I understand their point but come on. THis is tball for crying out loud. It's not the world series or anything. If anything I think we should punish the parents by not letting them come to the game. But not the boy.

Lessa I'm sure it's not that bad

Kindergarten so 5 or 6 years old.
You're kidding me! I assumed they'd be at least 10/11 :sad2:
At that age he can't even get to practise on his own and is it the end of the world if they lose!!!! BTW how many practises do you have a week? For that age I would only think 1 practise and a match per week!

What exactly does the coach think he's teaching the OTHER kids by acting like this? That winning is everything? That if you lose, you find a scape goat? That team is only a team for those who don't have messed up lives? :headache::headache::headache:

What organization is in charge? Can you get the director involved? I would try to go above this guy's head and see who you can talk to about how he's (mis)treating this boy. You are justified in your concerns and it sounds like you might be the ONLY adult looking out for this little boy.

Well, I didn't quote. SORRY! :rotfl2: No way man. Couldn't do it. :sad2:

My teeth are healing (sort of) and they only hurt a bit on the left side. :confused3 I made it to the gym all 3 days (I'm sticking with my 3 day a week commitment! Go me!) and I've got most of my housework done. Bob's home tomorrow. I am working in the library for the morning, but then I'll be home.
I don't always quote either. And I don't mean to exclude people, but sometimes I come to the thread and am behind several pages and just don't have time to read everything and respond to everything.

Yay you! on the exercise.
SHe over fed them, they normally get 1/3 of a cup, she gave them several cups and pumpkin (which I do feed them as part of their breakfast) and treats. I actually found uneaten treats in Namath's bed.
 OMG that is terrible!
Not much going on here. We've got a very horsey weekend in store: riding lesson tonight, Leo has barn duties tomorrow morning, Preakness Stakes tomorrow evening, and we're going to see the Royal Lippazan Stallions Sun. Fun!
I think I'm going to have to learn a new language to communicate with V anymore. :confused3 And I used to take riding lessons (but it was about 12 years ago.)
Ok......calling all bag experts..........I need a bag for the Bahamas.........looking at the bagillini---can't spell that------------which one do you all like for day use? (remember I'm vertically challenged so not too big!)
I have the bagillini and it holds a lot, but everytime I adjust the strap, it always slips back to the longest position. I think mine is the messenger. It has a strap that goes over 1 shoulder and across your front. There are other styles. I would get something with lots of compartments so you can have everything organized.
We may go to Atlanta because that is during fall break!!!
You know if you come to Atl, you have to give me a call.

 I just got back from getting my hair cut and the hairdresser cut it way too short! I hate it, Mom keeps telling me it looks fine but I can barely even pull it into a ponytail!
I have had some really bad haircuts in the past and I don't let it bother me because I know it will always grow out. My hair also grows fast, but I know it must be frustrating to be going on vacation with a haircut you don't like. Maybe you will like it better after a few days.

Kindergarten so 5 or 6 years old. I don't know his record but the coach made it sound like we lost our games because of him.
That is such a young age to be treating him like that. My ds plays soccer and they don't even keep score at that age. They try to focus on the kids having fun. I don't think it is a big deal that he missed practice. He should get to play. I feel bad for that kid.

That's absolutely ridiculous. Sounds me instead of teaching the kids the winning isn't everything, he's teaching them that it is the ONLY thing:mad:

I don't suppose one of you could let me know, I'm planning 2 friends August trips and I've done what I think will be the best days but just want confirmation :thumbsup2

What dates. I will send them to you;)
