Hope everyone had a Great 4th!! :cool1:We had a good time !! Who would reserve a picnic shelter and not have someone there ???:confused3
Well we relocated and eventually after finishng cooking did find a table we could keep . the rest of the day went well I went in the wave pool, Judy tanned , I wenton the lazy river Kyle soaked me , Judy tanned ,I tookKyle to watch a show Judy tanned !!:lmao: While we were waitin for the fireworks ( we had an wesome viewing spot Kyle had us all rolling !!

Kyle : An Alien Shipthingie !!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Sorry UFO s you have a new name !!

I wish they’d let us big people wear ‘stretchy’ stuff. Sweats would be great!!!
Hey you're not big!!!!

What is our big teen looking forward to-meeting some pro soccer players, perhaps? No, he wants to make cookies with Auntie Heather.:love::cutie::laughing:
Awwww :goodvibes

We didn't end up going to Coney island. It was a very long week for us both so we didn't really want to do much. We heated up some leftovers and watched the first Harry Potter movie. The fireworks on the NY Harbor are starting soon and we can see some of them from my building so we will probably just watch a bit and then chill out. Not so exciting.
Sounds nice and relaxing!

Finally I finished the white layer and when I went to write "Happy birthday Tau" and "Happy Birthday Omicron" I realized the star was much too small. So I just wrote their names on the cakes. Also I mixed the colored icing waaay too thick and it was almost impossible to write anything with it.
Any photos of these master pieces? :rotfl2:

Em is coming today, she was meant to get here at about 10am and stay until between 2 and 3pm as she wanted to get to Dad's in time for the boys dinner. But she phones at 9.45am to say all the boys (her DH included) were still asleep. Looks as though I'll only see her for about 3 hours :headache: :sad2: :sad1: I know they're jetlagged but the way to get over it is to wake up!!!

Oh I forgot to say yesterday was the 20th, yep 20th :faint: anniversary of David and I starting to date, OMG where has that time gone :faint:

OMG!!! Did you all see this????

A Disney World monorail driver was killed after colliding with another train at the Orlando, Fla., park, local TV station Web site CFNews13.com reported.

The driver was died early Sunday when he rear-ended another train at about 2 a.m. EDT.

The operator of the other monorail train was taken to the hospital, but was uninjured, according to a statement from the Reedy Creek Fire Department.

The first driver, who was not identified, had to be cut out of his cab and was pronounced dead at the scene, CFNews13.com reported.

Two employees and five guests on both trains were not injured.

Witnesses said the crash took place on the EPCOT track near the Disney World parking lot as people were leaving the park following a Fourth of July fireworks show.

"Today, we mourn the loss of our fellow cast member. Our hearts go out to his family and to those who have lost a friend and co-worker," Mike Griffin, Disney World's vice president of public affairs, said in a statement.

"The safety of our guests and cast members is always our top priority. The monorail is out of service as we continue to work closely with law enforcement to determine what happened and the appropriate next steps," Griffin said.

It was the first fatal accident in the Disney World monorail's 38-year history, according to CFNews13.com.

OMG!!! Did you all see this????
Just did; I have CNN as my home page and this was teh first news story: http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/07/05/u.s.disney.monorail/index.html

I'm stunned. I always assumed they had all sorts of fail-safes built in to the system to prevent accidents. Of course, the Titanic did too. :sad2:

Morning! I'm about a thousand different kinds of congested - wonder of all the fireworks smoke and soot could be doing it? :confused3 I'm about 3 blocks from where our city does a massive July 4th show.

So I'm trying to get breathing under control before working out now. Another unexciting day planned: workout, laundry, ironing, go to old Navy fro more shorts. Actually, that last item is kind of exciting... I need new shorts because all that working with my Sadistic Wii Trainer is paying off - I've lost inches and my new/old Lands End shorts are way too big! :woohoo::yay::cool1:

Hope everyone has a good Sunday. :grouphug:

That's a scary accident!

Good MOrning everyone. I didn't quote, but it looks like everyone who checked in had a wonderful 4th. We had a great time. Mom and Dad are still here so we are doing the big family dinner tonight, 20 people including kids. Mom drives back to morrow and then dad flies out on Tuesday:sad2: On the flip side will see them again in about a month:yay:

V- Hope the allergies clear up for you.

Jo - Sorry you won't have more time to spend with your sister:hug:

Mel - OMG, no I didn't see that. V thanks for the link, I'm printing the story up for mom. (edited to say I just read the story :-()

Have a great day everyone!:goodvibes

Mz Diz - I really like the looks of TGWL. Please tell me how your stay goes.

OMG! We had a great time! Definitely worth the money. We drove up Friday and got there at about 2 pm. The line to check in was crazy. Our room was ready, so we got to drop our bags off. :yay:
We stayed at Wilderness at the Smokies in May. My ds8 liked Wilderness better, but we liked GWL better. He said he liked Wilderness better because the wave pool was better, the Tornado was better, and they had a surf rider.
Dh and I thought the theming at GWL was better and the waterpark had more to do. Wilderness has 3 slides, surf rider, a toddler area, and a water play area. GWL has 5 slides, a waterplay area that has 2 long slides, and a toddler area. The waterplay area was twice as big as the one at Wilderness and the toddler area was better. The wave pool at GWL is half the size of the one at Wilderness and the Wilderness waves are a lot rougher.

We played in the waterpark until dinner time, went out to eat and back at the hotel. They had a magic show for the kids at 8 and then a storytime. The clock in the lobby also does a 15 minute show - animatronics and music.
We went to bed, got up and went back to the waterpark. We left at 5pm.

For the 4th, they had a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, moonwalk and slide, arts and crafts, and some contests.

We all had a great time.
Thankfully my BIL said he'd go to the race with Mitch. I'm off the hook. Really I know I should go with him, but he made me see Water World, that terrible Kevin Costner movie, with him and I have a feeling the experience would be similar. :rolleyes1
:lmao:
I have a funny alarm story too :)

I am now known as the lady who burns chickens in my neighborhood.
:lmao:
That is hysterical.
Have a good day will check in later before I am of o work again for the secondtime !! This partime job has been full time this week I've racked up 32 hours !!!:scared1:
Don't work too hard.
You definitely need a trip to WDW. :rotfl2:
Just went and walked 6 holes with Jess and she did so well, she got a par on a really difficult par 5 and then birdied a par 3 (she got a 2!) I'm so proud of her :goodvibes
Go Jess!
So, Buzz & Woody took their own cameras to the fireworks, and Buzz was trying to get a good picture, and D took this:
th_049.jpg

I just think it's cool!
That is a great pic! Very cool!:cool2:
We are going to Coney Island to see some fireworks and people watch. I will DEF be taking the camera!
Did you have fun? You always take great pics! Can't wait to see them.
It seems Disney has ruined me for regular city fireworks shows, Bill and I laugh every year because it seems to take forever inbetween the fireworks, we think it is done get ready to go in and another one goes off, it is a running joke around here: "are they done yet?"

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Tracy - hugs to TE. Sorry she has to have surgery.

My sister called from Austria this morning. She said they are having a great time. They went to Hungary for a day and said it is so much prettier than Austria. One of our childhood friends lives in Hungary. They met up with him and he gave them some tips. She took him Kraft Mac and Cheese, brownie mixes, and cake mixes because you can't buy them there. She asked his brother what he was missing from the US and he said the cheap mac n cheese is his absolute fave :rotfl2: and his kids like the brownie and cake mixes.
My nephew told me he is having a great time. So far the kids are still getting along. I thought for sure they would be getting on each other's nerves by now.

Well I have no hair left, I pulled it all out on the golf course playing with Jess :rotfl2:
Are you going to post pics of a bald Jo? It's a Focker requirement to post pics of new hairstyles. :rotfl2:

Hey I’m 43 and I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up – Gorgeous and filthy rich. Neither one worked out.

:lmao:

I haven't decided what I will do when dd starts school this Fall. If I could get my old job back, I'd love it, but it's a small department with extremely low turnover.
I am considering going back to school to be a teacher.

Well - scratch my comment on the last post. See that you didn't go. Still sounds like a nice evening.:goodvibes

That's right! They need to get themselves in gear.
Oh I forgot to say yesterday was the 20th, yep 20th :faint: anniversary of David and I starting to date, OMG where has that time gone :faint:
Happy anniversary. That is a long time. I bet David is glad he hasn't had to put up with the Fockers that long. :rotfl:

OMG!!! Did you all see this????
OMG! That is terrible. Thanks for sharing.

Way to go, V!!!

It's funny what you miss, my BIL couldn't believe his luck when he saw that I had skips in the cupboard (a prawn cocktail flavoured snack kind of like a cross between chips and cheetos) :rotfl2:

Yep don't think we'd have lasted if he'd met the Fockers all those years ago :rotfl2:

So July 4th weekend is over does that mean you'll all come back and chat with me :goodvibes

Em was here just over 2 hours, the boys have really grown and are so cute and cheeky the girls just loved them. I was happy too as Em bought me a huge box of milk duds she did leave them in the car though so they only have 1 milk dud in, a huge one :rotfl2:

Hey ladies. Out of all of you I am probably the newest to the disboard (even though I consider myself a veteran :goodvibes). So I found this thread and I have two questions that I was hoping that someone could answer for me.

1. What are the 'points' they are referring to? Do you really get points based on your posts?

and

2. What is the 'other' board they are referring to?

I'm confused? So everyone is going to school next year? I thought you were still homeschooling one?
I am sending my oldest to PS, and keeping home the younger two. I was just thinking about 3 yrs from now. I plan on sending the kids to PS in 6th grade. :teacher:

Go to FB :goodvibes

Just had to go buy some milk, BIL asked if he could fill the boys cups up with milk before they left and obviously I said yes as we had about 2 pints left. Well Jess just went to the fridge to find hardly any left, he hadn't even left enough for our cereal tomorrow :sad2: good job she spotted it tonight rather than tomorrow!!!

Hello all.

Another mellow day in Brooklyn, NY.

I have been on a cooking frenzy to make my week easier in terms of dinners and lunches. I made bbq chicken wings with red beans and rice (4 tupperwares full), am making honey robs in my crock for dinner the next 2 nights and am about to finish up with some spicy mashed potatoes to go with the ribs. PS we are having mexican we ordered out for dinner tonight . :lmao:

I am trying to keep my stress to a minimum but having work to go to several days a week is making me antsy. I am hoping I get used to it and relax a bit.

Anyways hope everyone had a great 4th. Happy Sunday. Off to finish cooking.

Man... life is so short sometimes. I logged on to FB and found out that a fellow homeschool mom from San Antonio died last night. She was diagnosed with cancer THREE WEEKS ago. :guilty:

It just makes me think about my family and our future...

i haven't had a chance to check in lately, but just saw that there was a monorail accident at wdw and the driver was killed. i just thought of my disney friends. i don't think anyone is there right now. are they? i just hope everyone else on board is okay.

wow, just wow.
