Man... life is so short sometimes. I logged on to FB and found out that a fellow homeschool mom from San Antonio died last night. She was diagnosed with cancer THREE WEEKS ago. :guilty:

It just makes me think about my family and our future...

 That is so sad and just proves how short life can be.

i haven't had a chance to check in lately, but just saw that there was a monorail accident at wdw and the driver was killed. i just thought of my disney friends. i don't think anyone is there right now. are they? i just hope everyone else on board is okay.

wow, just wow.

Tragic accident. Only the driver was killed, he was 21. There was a family of 6 on the monorail at the time of the collision, they were unharmed. The driver of the monorail that did the crashing was also sent to hospital but word is that it is due to distress and not injury.

Hi everyone.

Dawn - for your friend. That is so sad.

Jo - Nice of your BIL to leave you some milk;)

Kat - You'll get into a routine.:thumbsup2

Hi Mary, Lessa, Rachel, Rosie :wave2:

--------------------------------------------------

Had a great time at dinner but I am exhausted. I'm suposed to go to work tomorrow, but I think I may take a half day and go hang out with day for a bit. Mom leaves to drive down tomorrow morning and then he flies out on Sunday. (Jo, dad can't take the long ride[17-18 hours] and mom likes having the car here so they don't have to depend on anyone else)

He and my cousin are going to Philadelphia Park (Horse Racing and Casino) tomorrow, so I may take a half day and meet them there. HAven't decided yet. It will all depend on how crazy things are at work.

I was going to update my PTR but I am too tired, so I think I will do it tomorrow.

Nighty night everyone!:goodvibes

Hi everyone! Just dropping in to say hi and that I haven't forgotten, just been busy.

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

:flower3:

Hi everyone!

I had tons of quotes and then dang windows did and update and restarted the computer! Grrrrr!

Had a great weekend with my boys. We went to the Tea Party Protest yesterday and met some nice people. Then to a barbeque with friends. They bought a smoker for their grill and OMG!!!! Best ribs I have ever eaten in my life! So delish!
We all needed a nap after that so we came home and rested up. Our friends came down to our house and we walked to the park (about a mile) to watch the fireworks. They were great!

Then we undertook the LONG walk home again. Whew! That was a long day but so fun!
Today was much more relaxed. I am sad though because NotBob is leaving tomorrow for IL. He's gone till Thurs. Then home for 12 hours or so, and then off to Japan for 10 days. :guilty:
(To answer your question from days ago Janet, YES, tons more travel) However, given the state of the auto industry, I guess we can't really complain. At least he's employed, right? :sad2:

Gotta get some sleep! Love to everyone!!!!

MEL

It must be hard  BTW love the new siggie :thumbsup2

Thanks Jo. :goodvibes

Hey I’m 43 and I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up – Gorgeous and filthy rich. Neither one worked out.

:rotfl:

I know that feeling  I'm missing our kids now too.

Thanks Deb. :goodvibes

Deb said:
Oh and my MIL is giving us her pool table. :goodvibes So it has been a good 4th for us!

:thumbsup2 Awesome!

Kyle : Lokk up there an FBO!
Us: A What??
Kyle : An Alien Shipthingie !!!:lmao:

Sorry UFO s you have a new name !!

:lmao: CUTE!

Oh I forgot to say yesterday was the 20th, yep 20th :faint: anniversary of David and I starting to date, OMG where has that time gone :faint:

Awwwww...that is sweet. :flower3:

Actually, that last item is kind of exciting... I need new shorts because all that working with my Sadistic Wii Trainer is paying off - I've lost inches and my new/old Lands End shorts are way too big! :woohoo::yay::cool1:

:thumbsup2 Great job, V!

Em was here just over 2 hours, the boys have really grown and are so cute and cheeky the girls just loved them. I was happy too as Em bought me a huge box of milk duds she did leave them in the car though so they only have 1 milk dud in, a huge one :rotfl2:

Glad you enjoyed your visit with your sister. Sorry the visit was cut short though. And yay to the Milk Duds even though it was all in one form.

Hey ladies. Out of all of you I am probably the newest to the disboard (even though I consider myself a veteran :goodvibes). So I found this thread and I have two questions that I was hoping that someone could answer for me.

1. What are the 'points' they are referring to? Do you really get points based on your posts?

and

2. What is the 'other' board they are referring to?

I know I've been on TFW for a while and even the DIS but have no idea what this is and what you are talking about. :confused3 I guess I don't stray to far from here though and only read things posted on here. LOL

 I am sorry to hear this Dawn.

****************************************************

Hi Fockers! Wow...twice in two days I've been on. Hopefully I can keep it up.

I had a good 4th though. Went to my aunt's house for a cookout, some margaritas and fireworks. It was nice spending time with family.

Didn't get to talk with the kids at all yesterday and then of course when I called today all the ex did was whine to me about Lindsey and her behavior. Sorry buddy, but I don't whine to you each and every time the kids are bad so what makes you think you can to me. I KNOW Lindsey has a listening problem, suck it up, deal with it and move on. Apparantly being a full-time SAHparent really isn't as easy as he thought it was, and the only thing I keep thinking is Karma is definitely coming around and biting him in his butt. I gotta be careful though because I don't want her coming back and getting me for laughing just a little too much at his expense.

Well, it's already Monday here in my time zone so I hope y'all have a good Monday. I have class in the AM and then PM so I probably won't be able to get on much during the day. Have a good one all!:grouphug:

Good morning fabulous focker friends :goodvibes

I am trying to keep my stress to a minimum but having work to go to several days a week is making me antsy. I am hoping I get used to it and relax a bit.
It will, it'll just take a bit of getting used too. On your working days get KC to help with meals and stuff and remember being at work means the house will stay tidier :thumbsup2

Evening all ! I cheked out that liked and left !! I like my Friendly Fockers !!!:cloud9:
Me too :goodvibes

Wow your Mom is good driving all that way on her own, don't think I could do it!!! Hope you get some rest

Hi everyone! Just dropping in to say hi and that I haven't forgotten, just been busy.

What were you doing up so late???? Have fun at school!

Well it looks like the weather has finally turned, it's cloudy, still warm though. We're going on a nice walk today and hoping the rain holds off!

I answered a question yesterday from a lady wanting a character breakfast in about 4 weeks time for a party of 25. I basically replied good luck :rotfl2: I was expecting lots of low ratings but it looks as though others agree with me and I've got 5's :rotfl2: (I did say more than good luck but that was the gist of my answer!)

I wrote this an hour ago but I don't think the DIS wanted to wake up :rotfl2:

Saw the pictures on FB - loved it!:thumbsup2

Jim wants one of these so badly. I'm thinking of trying to catch an end of season sale and putting it away for Christmas:confused3

That was a long day but so fun!

Sounds like a very nice day:goodvibes

Ditto that for me. Only I'm the one doing the whining.

A perfectly nice weekend has just been ended by a rainy Monday morning at work. Don't get me wrong - I like my job, but I'm tired, my sinuses are still throbbing and I'm just plain ready for an extended vacation. Only 3.5 weeks to go! :cheer2:

Hope your Mondays are a whole lot better. :grouphug:

Managed a quick walk in between the showers, we went to Costa Coffee and I had a delicious strawberry thing, very yummy and very filling!

I forgot to tell you about the sight I saw the other day. Jess and I went to get take away after golf and it's in this really quaint little town, lots of beamed houses etc. Well this family went past us, the Mum was wearing just a bikini top and silky soccer shorts, the dad was :scared: and the 7 kids all under about 8 were filthy and shoeless. A very strange sight :sad2:

Hello Fockers! We are just back from the lake and just heard the news. I am so sad about the monorail crash. :sad1:

Good morning everyone! Jo, I thought your answer on the Mom's Panel was great. I can't believe that person hadn't gotten an ADR yet. Even if you are in your hometown and planning on taking 24 other people with you somewhere you would make a reservation asap, I just don't get why someone would wait that long to get one :confused3.

It was so sad to hear about the monorail accident :sad1:.

Terrible isn't it, I've heard it was due to a series of human errors :sad1:

Thanks and so true, you wouldn't expect to get into your local restaurant by just walking up especially with such a large party!
I've just had another look at the link and who gave me a low rating? It was a 5 now it's 4.6 :rotfl:

OK where is everyone, the weekend is over :rotfl2:

I remembered Jo:guilty:

1. You would think since the person who asked the question lives in FLA they would have an idea of how how things work.:confused3

2. It figures they will be there when I am there. That will be the group that I am constantly trying to get around becasue they are stopped in the middle of the walkway reading the map:eek::lmao:

Hi Fockers!

I've been absent, mostly due to the 4th of July festivities and finishing of the Twilight Series. Man, I'm bummed that it's over. :sad1: I do hope she gets her but moving and starts writing from Edward's perspective. Hopeful thinking. Has anyone read HOST? Thoughts?

TINK has swimming lessons this afternoon and I need to go register her for a few dance camps, and register her for the class I want her in for dance for the school year.

I'm going to go back and try to catch up. Hopefully everyone is doing well.

I'm feeling kind of numb... I want to read more. Seriously... this is not normal! :scared:

My firework pictures always end fuzzy.

D actually messes with the aperture and timing settings and so forth, but ours and the boys' cameras are Canons, which have a pretty good "fireworks" setting.

I was just staring into space yesterday wondering what I was going to be when I grow up. I just don't know what I want to do once everyone's in school. Do I want to get a little job for spending money or get all my housework and errands run so that I can be 100% there for the kids once they are home?

It's tough. I am going to sign up to substitute - I made the call on Thursday and just have to go in for the application. We'll see. It makes me very nervous in some regards, but I think I need to do something.

Hi everyone. Off to my aunts for a BBQ with the family. Been spending lots of time with mom and dad, so that's why Ihaven't been around much.

Sounds like you've been having fun.

Don't know what they have planned for the day but I miss the little buggers.

I bet.

Take up golf

Or tennis. ::yes:: :lmao:

CE – Funny alarm story. “It's trash day." That is frickin’ hilarious!!! Stepdad was just trying to be practical!!! I love that picture of Buzz!

Thanks!

Happy 4th, all! We did some shopping at Target and Christmas tree Shop today. I took the boys to see a Cirque show yesterday-it was great. Mordie (13) is going to be staying with us this week, as our local pro soccer team is running a camp in our town. What is our big teen looking forward to-meeting some pro soccer players, perhaps? No, he wants to make cookies with Auntie Heather.

Sweet!

Hope you all had a great 4th!

Yours sounds relaxing, which can be great.

Finally finished. and now I am resting. I have so much still to clean before tomorrow but I don't think I have procrastinated enough.

Hey, that's about where I am today. ;) Sorry about all the cake issues.

Hope everyone had a Great 4th!! We had a good time !!

Glad you had a good day!

I know they're jetlagged but the way to get over it is to wake up!!!

Oh I forgot to say yesterday was the 20th, yep 20th anniversary of David and I starting to date, OMG where has that time gone

You were very young. ;) D & I started dating in 1995, though we didn't get married until 2000 - we're not that far behind you.

OMG!!! Did you all see this????

I saw it last night when we got home.

Morning! I'm about a thousand different kinds of congested - wonder of all the fireworks smoke and soot could be doing it? :confused3 I'm about 3 blocks from where our city does a massive July 4th

I'm bad this morning.

Actually, that last item is kind of exciting... I need new shorts because all that working with my Sadistic Wii Trainer is paying off - I've lost inches and my new/old Lands End shorts are way too big!

That's awesome!

My nephew told me he is having a great time. So far the kids are still getting along. I thought for sure they would be getting on each other's nerves by now.

Glad they're having fun.

It's funny what you miss, my BIL couldn't believe his luck when he saw that I had skips in the cupboard (a prawn cocktail flavoured snack kind of like a cross between chips and cheetos)

Eeewwwww. ;)

I was happy too as Em bought me a huge box of milk duds she did leave them in the car though so they only have 1 milk dud in, a huge one

Ah, there's nothing too wrong with that!

Just had to go buy some milk, BIL asked if he could fill the boys cups up with milk before they left and obviously I said yes as we had about 2 pints left. Well Jess just went to the fridge to find hardly any left, he hadn't even left enough for our cereal tomorrow -good job she spotted it tonight rather than tomorrow!!!

That reminds me to put milk on my list.

I am hoping I get used to it and relax a bit.

I'm sure you will get there.

Mine's OK. Sorry about yours.

Hi, S'late.

I've just had another look at the link and who gave me a low rating? It was a 5 now it's 4.6

I bumped you back up to 4.8. ;)

It figures they will be there when I am there. That will be the group that I am constantly trying to get around becasue they are stopped in the middle of the walkway reading the map

:rotfl:

I HAVE to get off this computer. :rotfl:

We were seriously only home and awake for about 2 hours a day for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It was a great weekend, but I'm done. :faint: We didn't get back last night until nearly 11:00 - we ended up having another family with boy twins (who were in the boys' classes and baseball team, etc.) come with us, and we wound up eating dinner on the lake, so by the time we got to the marina, it was really, really dark, which made putting the boat away much harder, and so forth.

D is now off today and tomorrow, and today is nice, so he wanted to go back up to the lake. I said no - I have my rescheduled dentist appointment late this afternoon and our playgroup is meeting here tomorrow, so I have to both clean and shop. Thankfully, both boys decided to go with him and he took the dog, so I can do all my stuff without the kids, which is much easier. ;)

We have bread - thanks, anyway, Dawn! :rotfl: - but no cheese, no meat, no breakfast foods, no drinks (sodas, milk, nothing...) nothing to feed the playgroup... :rotfl:

I need to vacuum yet and so forth - I did do the bathroom before sitting down, but it took me a LONG time to catch up on here and FB. I need a shower and of course the dentist appointment can't be forgotten.

We all slept in, so D & the boys didn't leave 'til nearly 11:00, so I didn't get started very early. I was trying to help them get out the door, but not getting my own stuff done.

All right. I'm sure I'll be back very soon, but I need to go do a task. :rotfl:

Hope everyone's morning went well. :grouphug:

2. It figures they will be there when I am there. That will be the group that I am constantly trying to get around becasue they are stopped in the middle of the walkway reading the map:eek::lmao:
I bet they'll be those people :rotfl2:

I'm feeling kind of numb... I want to read more. Seriously... this is not normal! :scared:

Or tennis. ::yes:: :lmao:
There we go Dawn lots of options for you :rotfl2:

You were very young. ;) D & I started dating in 1995, though we didn't get married until 2000 - we're not that far behind you.
I know, 16, we married in 1995 when I was 22 and D 23!

Eeewwwww. ;)
They're actually quite nice, so next time we meet I'll bring skips not fruit pastilles :rotfl:

I bumped you back up to 4.8. ;)
Thanks

but it took me a LONG time to catch up on here and FB.
:rotfl2: And is it dentist day today??? We've just returned, you're going, T posted on FB she's going and I'm sure I read Jodi is going too :rotfl2:

Well, there you go! :lmao: I was supposed to go 17 June (see, I'm even doing British dates for you! :goodvibes) but that was the Field Day at the school. The boys went last week. ;)

Hi diddly ho, Fockers!

Long time, no chat. :goodvibes

It's been crazy around here. My house is a mess, but I've got no energy to get going. It's been go, go, go all weekend and I'm exhausted.

We ended up at my Aunt's house on the 4th for a pool party and BBQ. Andy's friend supplied us with some really awesome fireworks and we had a blast, until the cops showed up and busted us.:rolleyes1 There were some kids across the street with similar fireworks and they weren't fast enough to get away from the po-po, so they got busted. All our kids rans like good Mexicans and avoided any warning or fines.:lmao: Luckily the kids across didn't go to the clink or anything. We tangled with some cool cops.:cool2:

My muther is as well as she can, I suppose. Just went things settle down, something else starts. I can't wait for vacation! :cloud9:

Hope everyone is doing well. :) Hi Janet, CE, Jo, Lori, V, Tracy, S'late and anyone else I missed! :wave2:

Dawn, I read about your friend... so very sorry. 3 weeks? That's scary. Sending you
