I've been thinking about kitchen cabinets (I still haven't memorized everyone's name on here).

What about dove gray with a coffee rub? The dove gray is a warm based (brown based) gray, and doing a coffee colored stain over it will give it depth and richness. It's not too hard to do the rub-or antiquing, my mother did it years ago to cabinets that she had painted cream.

David's parents phoned last night and said they've been invited to some great aunts 80th party, well it's about 3-4 hours from them and we're kinda in the middle and they wanted to know if they could come see us on the way home. Fine right? Well no these are the same inlaws that couldn't drive down (under 2 hours) to see Ellie at the theatre in the panto a few years ago as it's too far. They also never ever come visit because they can't drive that far but can go see some long lost releative I'm just annoyed that they can't drive for us but will for someone else! Oh and it's in August when I plan to be at my Dad's anyway

Opinions please!

David's parents phoned last night and said they've been invited to some great aunts 80th party, well it's about 3-4 hours from them and we're kinda in the middle and they wanted to know if they could come see us on the way home. Fine right? Well no these are the same inlaws that couldn't drive down (under 2 hours) to see Ellie at the theatre in the panto a few years ago as it's too far. They also never ever come visit because they can't drive that far but can go see some long lost releative I'm just annoyed that they can't drive for us but will for someone else! Oh and it's in August when I plan to be at my Dad's anyway

Tell them you'll be at your dad's and thats that, right? U have a good excuse as to why they cant come by. How annoying of them to even think of coming to your house.

We're going to be heading to the library in about 45 minutes to go watch a movie. They're playing all Disney movies this summer so the kids will like it. This week it's Mulan next week is Peter Pan. I'll get to sit and read and have some quiet. YAY!

Ok now it's my turn.....opinions....

So my godmother/aunt emailed me today via facebook. She';s the one who's daughter killed herself about 2 months ago. She was my moms best friends and when Mom died she came up and made all kinds of promises about "being there for me" and then she never called me and after i called her twice i gave up. She was no help to me in all the drama surrounding my mom's death. Now she is asking me why i haven't spoken to her or called, etc. She said she was surprised to not hear from me because I was close to my cousin like her and my mom were. The thing is we weren't close AT ALL! This is the cousin who was in jail and all that, that I was unsure how to deal with before. Fortunately she passed before I had to confront her about anything. We were not close and never spoke and I am really unsure what to do about contacting my aunt?! Help!!!!

Other than that we had a mellow day, grocery shopped. I did a bit of regular shopping around the neighborhood (got 2 new flip flips and some carp from the 99cent store) and we had some sammies for dinner.

Tomorrow KC is off since he covered Friday night so we are going to a little frnech place for brunch and then a movie (UP finally!).

Wow! Quiet around here this weekend!!!

BUSY day here yesterday. Jimmy got up at 6:00am dressed himself in his Tball uniform and then came in and woke me and Jim up becasue he didn't want to be late for Tball--that starts at 10:00.

While Jim took him to Tball I stayed here and got everything ready for the block party. They came back from Tball, Jimmy got washed and changed for the birthday party. Jim took Jimmy, Matt and Rose to the birthday party and I hung out here for the block party.

THey came back, with a few extra people and the kids ran the street until about 9:00pm. THey loved riding their bikes in the street. We had moon bounce for the kids which they had fun with!

It was HOT. Me and my neighbor set up all the little pools in the street and when the kids got hot they would run through and then go back to riding bikes or the moon bounce or just general running around. Everyone left about 10:00 last night. We gave Jimmy the option of going in and getting a bath, putting his pj's on and then coming back out becasue some of his friends were still out. He looks at me and said I want bath and bed mom, I'm tired! I can't imagine why.

Today is more low key...thank goodness. We are going to run to Jim's moms for about an hour (his sisters birthday is on Tuesday) and then pick up a few things from the grocery store. The rest of the day is going to be and chilling out!

I'm a bit of a cynic and I'm of two minds about your aunt. The first (less cynical) idea is that some people don't handle death well, and handle helping others grieve even less well (our family is TERRIBLE at it, I'm learning to be better). Now that you may be over the grieving process she may feel comfortable talking to you again. Just be aware that it's not a strength she has so she won't be there in the future for you if grieving happens again.

The other more cynical possibility is that she wants something from you and she's just warming you up before she hits you with whatever it is she wants.

Church was fun this morning as this enormous spider crawled right past me I'm not scared of them but it shocked me, I didn't make too much of a scene My friend who sat next to me ended up grabbing him with a bit of paper and putting it in her glasses case to release later, hope she remembered

Then I had a golf comp, on Friday the golf pro was 1 lady short so I volunteered. It was a strange competition where you were given a certain amount of shots and kept playing till you ran out. We did pretty well we came 4th but there were only 3 prizes

Oh there was a message on the answer phone earlier from MIL asking if the girls would like to stay with them for a couple of days in the holidays For a start they live 2 hours away so going for 2 days isn't really enough when I'd have to drive there and back, there and back. And secondly they've never shown any interest before never even baby sat them, the girls don't want to go

Not much planned for us today. We did a lot on Friday and even last night so I'm happy to be taking a break today and do nothing. So right now the kids are outside playing and I'm trying to get the house picked up some and laundry done. I'll probably pull out the sprinkler later on today and let the kids run through it.

About your aunt, I really don't see how she thinks you should be reaching out to her when you were not close at all to that part of the family. I have let go of many people like that in my life that only want me around when they need something, it has helped me a lot.

Ran to IL's to sing happy birthday to the SIL, CARS was on while we were there so we wound up staying a bit longer than we had planned. No biggie. After that we had to run to my friend Denise's house becasue we had both of her car boosters for her kids in the van from JIm taking them to the party yesterday. Then we ran to the grocery store to pick up a few things. Came home, cooked dinner, cleaned up, took a shower and JImmy will be going to be in about an hour

I have a couple of loads to finish up, so I will be up for a while Back to work tomorrow, but it's another 4 day week for us. Jim and I both are off for Jimmy's "move-up" day on Friday

I was glad when we arrived back home, let me tell you!

I'm just waiting for the pizza and beer and then I'm going to veg infront of the TV and watch my Lakers, win hopefully. LY, Ang!

I got this fitness thing for my birthday for the Wii, it's called Wii Active. Holy crow! I did a low intensity work out yesterday, and I'm flippin' feeling it today.

She has made it quite clear that should anything happen we are all to make sure the ex does NOT get Kyle !!Somehow I don't think he would stand a chance but I might be fleeing the country !!Any who(love that word )Have her in your prayers for tomorrow !!

I am here. I was 12 pages behind though!

Things are crazy here the last month of school. Poor Gus was sick for a week (last week) and missed the whole entire week of school. He made it there all this week. Then this morning he busts out with a 102 temp and a tummy ache again. I am totally perplexed. And worried. He has a HUGE week this week. He has two parties, graduation and a million other commitments. Poor guy.

The weather has been beautiful so that's good. They finally finished paving our subdivision so I can actually DRIVE in and out of my driveway again! Yay!!!!!

I'm off to watch tv with Bob. He's watching some scary movie over there!
I'll try to pop in tomorrow.

She was the only one to stand up at my moms funeral, she made lots of promises to me but never kept them. I just really don't know what her angle is. I don't even know if I should email her back or not and if I do WTH do I say?!

The funny thing she and my cousin's husband, and apparently my cousin as well, thought we were so close when we really never spoke. My cousin wasn't the kind of person I wanted to be close to (she was in and out of jail, doing a lot of drugs etc) so i never returned her calls. I don't get why they thought we were close?! I def cut a lot of people out of my life like that as well. After my mom's funeral I knew who cared and who didn't.

Great day! We slept in and left the house around 2pm and went to a little French restaurant a few blocks from the house. We had passed it before and since they had a $16.95 brunch special we decided this was the time to try it. The food was awesome! I had Eggs Benedict and KC had a Croque Madame. SOOOO GOOD. KC even made funny Epcot jokes about the French food. I was so proud. It came with coffee, lemonade and dessert too! KC had a pear & pistachio tart and I had tiramisu. The owner was walking around and turns out he's actually French so that explains why it was so good!

We wandered around, did a bit of shopping and caught the 5pm showing of UP. LOVED IT! I was teary several times!!! KC really liked it too. The only bad thing was that about 5 minutes before it was over he got a work call and had to leave and missed the end!

Turns out his company does the internet connections for radio city music hall and tonight is the tony awards and they were having internet issues! So we hightailed it onto the bus and went home.

Still a great day. Now he's gaming and I am catching up with my threads. Then I'm off to read (Once Dead, Twice Shy by Kim Harrison- love her!).
