What??? It was cool:rolleyes:

It was scorching in the sun though. Of course I forgot to put on sunscreen (on my arms) so they're burnt. Oh well. Not too bad, and thank goodness the boys were DONE with the fair in under 90 mins. The crowds, the dust, the game theives and they're YELLING at you to come play, the crazy looking ex-con carnival ride operators....you know the crowd..... Blech.

You make it sound so appealing:scared:

Afternoon everyone !!I am between jobs and have to run very soon!!! I am off tomorrow morning soooo I am sleeping in !!!:banana:Rough Night last night only got a couple of hours sleep !!:eek: I started back to school supply shopping Walgreens and CVS so far !! :thumbsup2Hitting Target tomorrow !! Anyone else got an early start?:confused3

It's funny you mention back to school shopping, Jim and I were just talking about this. We are going to wait until Staples has their teachers sale on August 22nd. We get all kinds of great deals and they give us teachers reward dollars too:thumbsup2

Staples penny sales strated today-penny pencils and copy paper, as well as dollar pens, white out, those chapie oxford folders for 15 cents-Mom uses them as file folders, etc. I'm sure you know this, but if you have a Teacher reward card you can get around the 2 limit on the discounted items. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

::yes:: But none of the stuff they had today is stuff Jimmy needs!

Just stopping by to say "hi"... I was tired this afternoon, so I took a rest while K took the kids to the pool. They wanted to show him their new deep water swimming skills. :thumbsup2

K and I went out to dinner last night. Afterwards we went to Lowe's and used our 10% off card we got when we moved. I got 10 valances for $9.40! :banana: I also got a new dining room light for $25 (was $100), and a bathroom light for $20 (was $80). It was a total score... :woohoo:

This week is SUPER crazy busy, so I don't know how much I'll be able to post. B has church camp from 9-12 every day, C and A have Bible Club from 9-10:30, & swim from 12-12:45. Then Tuesday B has solo practice, Wednesday we are meeting friends at the pool, Thursday's dance night and Friday our church has a big festival.

I'm overwhelmed thinking about it. :sad2:

Looks like a great day Kat, is the place a bit run down or is that the look?

Nope it's ghetto down there. It's being re done bit by bit tho.

Kat - I thought Astroland was closing, some sort or redevelopment was going on? Did that not happen?

It's a part of the resurgence. It was getting better but it has a LOT of work left.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So Sunday has become cook for the week day. I made 2 huge trays of homemade mac and cheese with sausage, peas and mushrooms. We will eat that until wed. We went grocery shopping too, sow e have cold cuts for lunches. Now I am just waiting for True Blood to come on.
I work 10-3 tomorrow so i'll "see" you all after that!
Jimmy is in bed. Ji is reading his last story and then putting thr Tales of Despereaux on CD on for him.
I am sitting here trying to figure out if it is worth booking a hotel in Lancaseter on Saturday. We were planning a trip to Dutch WOnderland on Saturday (and then just coming home) but we are now thinking we may go up early Saturday to take in the other other Lancaster sights and Do a Twilight Preview for free of Dutch WOnderland from 5:30 - 8:30.
Decisions, decisions....
Ok, since Dawn peer pressured me into joining her in WDW in Sept........
I need some help, Fockers. Has anyone eaten at Todd English's new place at The Swolphin? It's called Bluezoo. The food looks interesting. I made an ADR for one of our nights for dinner. I don't recall ANYONE mentioning it though.....
And......
Is Kristel the only other Focker who'll be there around our time? (I know about Jo...)
MEL:banana:
It's not pressure..it's enabling Mel;) I haven't eaten there but a friend of mine did and she really liked it. Take it for what that's worth, but she is a VERY picky eater. Don't know if that helps or not.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Well we did it. We decided to do an overnighter in Lancaster. We found a cheap hotel (Knights Inn, got decent reviews on Trip Advisor) for $64.00. So we are going to go up early Saturday Morning. Hit the PA Train Museum and then the Strasburg Railroad for a ride on the trains! Then we will check into the hotel, chill out for a bit, grab a bite to eat and go to Dutch WOnderland.
They have this special:
Preview Plan: Be Our Guest
It’s 3 hours before Park closing and we want you to be our guest! Purchase a regular admission ticket for a full day at the Park tomorrow – and join us FREE for the remainder of the evening!
When the Park closes at 8:30 PM: Enter after 5:30 PM
So we will get hit some rides and get the lay of the land before spending the whole day on Sunday.
Dutch Wonderland is geared towards the Under 10 set so their are no monster coasters or anything, and I won't have to deal with PITA teenagers;).
Off to bed all. Have a good night. "See" you all tomorrow!
Weekend in review!
LORI has been car shopping. She said it is no fun. I hope you found something.
MEL is Bobless until the 19th. Wants to know about bluezoo. I saw a review of it. Very modern in decor and food. Very expensive. The food that was ordered looked good. I'd try it, but I'll try anything. I think it would be a great place for a couple's dinner.
SLATE had a good time shopping at K-Mart.:woohoo:
JANET finally has her suitcases out. Getting her carp together. :thumbsup2
LESSA says Erich’s restaurant job has come to an abrupt end. They are closing. She was a good Sis and helped him with his resume. He was hired at a restaurant that Alek works at. They went to a festival. Pics and video on the previous page. Looked like a lot of fun!!
JO has been “nipping” shops. There was a sleepover at her house with a pen fight. She and David have been banned from the youth group BBQ by the kids. They have abusy week lined up. Her anniversary is Wednesday. I'm glad you survived this weekend. I hope you survive this next week.
KAT and KC spent Saturday at Coney Is. She has pics on pg. 146, post 2176. Her friends bailed on the AC trip. She and KC are still going but she needs to change hotels. I love the pics! Were those trunks or underwear on that guy?
LL had a not so relaxing face peel at home. She dug out the WDW binder.:worship:
CE went boating and has a dog with a broken tail.:eek:
MO has some pics from an Israel trip in ‘79 on the previous page. I love the shoes, darling!!!!
T and family went to the Drive-in. We have a couple still around. I keep saying we need to go. We never do.
ROSIE has a day off today. She is already stocking up with school supplies. I hope you had a good sleep.
DAWN scored some great deals at Lowe’s. She will be very busy this week.:hug:
That's where my picture of the new patio should be. It rained all day Saturday, so nothing got done. Doug goes back to work in the morning. (I am very happy about this!) I am assuming that it will not be done until this next weekend. They will work on it some after work each day this week if it doesn't rain.
I helped a good friend clean her garage Sunday. She can't climb ladders too well and needed some stuff put up on shelves. We did major cleaning and reorganizing. She fed me and gave me a few things she didn't want. That's the best payment plus knowing I could help. I needed to get away for a while and just have some girl talk too.
We have window wells at each of the windows for the basement. They are covered with plastic covers. Some have holes so stuff can still get in. I look at one while I am on the treadmill. Sat. night I noticed a salamander in it looking at me through the glass. I let Doug know about it.
He called me while I was at my friend's place and said he checked all the wells. He found 17 salamanders and a momma cat with babies. Yeah you read that right. The neighbors cat had her babies stashed in one.:scared1: I swear their animals like my yard better. The horses eat the grass on my side of the fence. The cats keep draggin' their babies over hear. Oh and the chickens like my yard too. I told Doug if I start finding chicken poop on any of my stuff, some chickens are going to end up in a pot on my stove!!
I have to go into town tomorrow and order my safety glasses for work. I'll be popping into the other $$$ Tree to see what goodies they have. I think I'll grab a chicken from the deli at Wally world for supper.:lmao: I haven't been in the mood to cook for some reason.
I wish you all a great week!!!!
KMart is having a pretty good sale right now. Lots of toys are on clearance and then an additional 50% off.
My kids are not allowed to get any new toys for an unspecified amount of time.
Well bad news at home this morning. The restaurant that Erich has worked at since 2005 is closing, they all got called in this morning and given the news. So he is now without a job.
So many places are closing. We went shopping yesterday and the specific store I wanted to go to was empty..
Glad he got another job so fast.
That's great Lessa but errrr do the employers know what your 2 brothers are like once they're together? :rotfl:
:lmao:
KC woke up and said "get dressed we are going to Coney Island!" So off we went!
Great pics as usual, Kat!:thumbsup2
I miss my hubby, don't get me wrong, but I'm selfishly enjoying this alone time. Ok, well, I'm not alone, exactly, but you know what I mean?
I soooo miss my dh's traveling days. :rotfl2:
The binder that contains the most valuable information and paperwork I have....well, ok - I do have a box for the other important stuff...you know...the birth certificates...the marriage license...things you DON'T want to lose....coughcoughcough...:rolleyes1
Love the binder. And thanks for the funny story.
Anyway, we had a nice day on the lake.
Are you getting a really good suntan with all this lake time?
it's Ellie's last week at her school so she has lots going on.
And our school supplies are getting ready to come out for the new year.
You all did have a lot of busy stuff going on.
By the way - my sis brought the kids back some Kinder Eggs from Austria. They loved them. Before we had kids, we took a few trips to London (dh was on business and I did the tourist thing) and a friend asked us to bring her those for her kids. Do you know if they have them at Epcot?
Well, last night I had Sheila and Peggy over for pizzas (homemade), salad and we had brownies for dessert. Sheila brought bloody marys and they were YUMMY! We watched He's Just Not That Into You. It was cute. I really enjoy spending time with those two girls, though. They make me laugh so hard that my sides hurt. :lmao:
I love girl time. Sounds fun!
We watched that movie Friday night.
:thumbsup2 I'm still laughing over the hard water comment. :lmao:
Wish I hadn't missed that one.
Lurkyloo did a TR and she went there, maybe you can find it. She liked it a lot.
I am done early. I guess I am getting into a good flow of getting up early. So much in fact I tossed and turned for like 2 hours earlier. I work 10-3 so I am heading out in about 15 min but I ma dressed and ready to go and KC is still snoring. LOL.
ANyways have a great day, chances are I am napping when I get home, esp. since tomorrow is Potter day and I plan to get up at 6:30am and make it through the midnight show- somehow!
Good Morning!
So last night I went down to see the Fire Show which is part of the yearly Buskers Festival held here in town.
Thanks for sharing, Lessa.
So Murph has this thing that takes old slides and loads them to your PC. She is thinking of going to Israel again. Mom, Dad and me went in 79. Here's in 7th grade:
[/IMG]
I love looking at old pics.
I did not have that hair cut.
We took the kids to the Drive-in theater last night - such fun! I haven't been to one in years.
I just read an article about movies for the summer and there is a Drive-in around here. I would love to take the kids.
I think Wal Mart is going to have theirs out soon for us. School starts August 10. I hate that they put stuff out so early. None of ds's teachers have ever sent us a supply list. We always get it a week before school starts when we meet the teacher and by then all the stuff is gone. Although, in 1st grade - his teacher bought the entire class all of their school supplies, except for a journal she wanted everyone to have. I couldn't believe it.
Never have been to Bluezoo, but I love your ticker.
good friend clean her garage Sunday. She can't climb ladders too well and needed some stuff put up on shelves.
You are such a good friend.
Hello everyone.
I am finally all caught up and I can not believe that no one has posted yet this morning, except for me.
My nephew left this past Wednesday. I miss him. He is 7 now and this is the first time I've ever kept him and he was well behaved. He is growing out of his trouble stage. Hopefully Baby Girl will grow out of hers. :rotfl2: I just know when she starts school I will be getting phone calls from her teacher.
Anyone remember me posting about the whole fence issue - with the neighbor's fence way over the property line? We never asked them to move the fence and thought we would just wait and see what happened between the neighbor next to us and them. They moved the fence about 2 weeks ago. Didn't say anything to us about it. I just heard some hammering and some people were back there moving it. We now have about 20 feet more yard, across the entire yard. We showed my bil and sis and they said that property is the same size as their backyard.
Nothing new here. I have been trying to get into sewing. I checked out a couple books from the library and signed up for a class.
Catch you all later.
Good morning!
Janet: Whoo Hoo! Have fun at DW. (That's Dutch Wonderland...LOL)
Kristel: Baby Cats! OMGosh! Thank Goodness Doug went and looked!!!!:scared1: You NEED a vacation! :rotfl:
Kat: Wow! You beat me. :worship:
Mary: Yay about the fence! :cool1: Thanks on the ticker. :love:
So where the HECK is everyone? I know I slept in but come on! :lmao:
Today is swimming at 11, then stay for a picnic lunch at the lake with Gus' friend. Then said friend comes to spend the night. We have tennis for SD at 7:30 pm tonight.
No word from NotBob today. He's flying to some other island (don't know which) to see some customers and won't be back to Tokyo until Tuesday night(???? or was it Wednesday night????) I don't know. He's fine though.
Hope everyone is good.
Oh, and thanks for the info on Bluezoo. I'll look it up!
Oh our shops have had back to school stuff in for several weeks now, including lots of uniform, it's ridiculous!!!
Nipped into town this morning, got Jess a couple of little bits for her Birthday, then we did the supermarket and were going to have lunch before we went and played some golf. But we were so quick we went straight there and have just had lunch now!
I do have a box for the other important stuff...you know...the birth certificates...the marriage license...things you DON'T want to lose....coughcoughcough...:rolleyes1
:lmao::lmao::lmao: LY T!
:eek: OMG, you are the most organized person in the world! :worship:
Oddly enough, a sea of trip memories flash through my brain...and I can almost smell the hot dogs and french fries at Casey's...or the smell inside the POTC ride...
Am I'm so darn excited I can barely stand it...
:hug::hug::hug:
Have a really busy week this week, it's Ellie's last week at her school so she has lots going on. Monday is her show in the evening, Tuesday she's going bowling followed by BBQ and water fight. I'm playing in a golf cup followed by conference call and taking E to dancing. Wednesday is our anniversary and Jess is going into London to the Natural History Museum with the school, we then have to pick her up before going out for a meal. Thursday is Jess's Birthday and Ellie has her leavers disco in the evening. Friday morning is Ellie's leavers service then she has a sleepover party and Jess is going to a friends too. Then mid morning Saturday I'm dropping the girls at David's work before going to my friends golf course to play her invitation then we're all going (in separate cars) up to Suffolk to stay with my Dad. D is staying till Monday, me till the following Saturday and the girls for 3 weeks
:faint: :faint: :faint: Oh, and :faint:
Please wish David a belated Happy Bday for me!
Not sure what's up with my attitude
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

GOOD morning!!! :yay: My boy is back, my boy is back, my boy is back! As always, there's some reprogramming to be done, but he came home very happy to be back and said he missed me "sooooo much!" :goodvibes

He's at Horse Camp this week and was very excited to see his equine buddies again. It was so very nice to start my morning with him again.

My cousin's coming for a visit next weekend, so that leaves ONE WEEKEND before the big Disney trip! :yay::woohoo::banana::cool1: Unlike LL, I have no binder. I have a pile of papers and post-its on the floor next to my bedroom armchair. And a laundry basket full of miscellaneous small items I want to bring. I'm tempted to make my trunk one big Owner's Locker by just tossing the basket, another basket full of clothes, some groceries and the pile of paper in and hitting the road. :rotfl2:

Oh, my... :faint:

Oh no! I hope he's alright.

He seems fine now.

CE: Sorry you broke Linus. That boat sounds fun but tons of work. Not exactly a "relaxing" weekend activity! Enjoy your alone time.

The dog seems good now. The boat can be work, but it's getting better. At first it felt like just getting everything ready to take up was awful, but we're in a good routine now. And it's nice to relax all day on the boat. But then I do pay for it - I have a TON of stuff to do today, since I was barely in my house all weekend. :rolleyes:

We took the kids to the Drive-in theater last night - such fun! I haven't been to one in years.

No, considering we haven't even been OUT of school for a month yet, I don't even want to think about it. :lmao:

:rotfl: There you go...

*******************************************************
We had a good day with our friends on the boat. :goodvibes I would have some pictures, but D & I both forgot the camera. Then... When we got home, D said, "Where IS the camera." After a full search, we think it pretty much HAS to be tucked away on the boat. :confused3 I am hopeful, because otherwise it's just gone. Sigh. He says he took it a week ago today, when he took the boys by himself and I stayed here to clean, do the dentist, etc. I haven't seen it since - the last pictures on the computer are from the 4th - and I'm usually very quick to move them over.

They came back in the pitch dark that night, so I bet it's stuffed away in the cubby and we just didn't know it all weekend. :rotfl:

We all slept in a bit this morning. I don't know where I left off, but D got put back on a trip all week, so he left about 10:00. I did an Active workout and have just sent the boys outside. It's sunny and 70 - a little cool for July, but I'll take the sun, and hey, we still haven't put our AC in. :confused3

Woody is overtired and grouchy this morning :sad2:, but hopefully that will settle down. I think at some point we have to go to the grocery store. Tomorrow we have playgroup somewhere else, and then all 3 of us have tennis. I may try to arrange a playdate for Wed. D's not home until late Thursday.

Mostly, though, I'm hoping for a quiet week (sorry, Jo & Dawn ;)) as we do go up to the lake for the rental house week on Sunday. I need to get ready for that, the boys have a birthday party to go to Saturday...

The rental house has us bringing our own sheets, and I have to figure out the sleeping arrangements. There are three bedrooms in the house - two have queen beds (no problem, our guest bed is a queen, so I have sheets for that.) The third has a double and a twin. We have no twin beds in my house, but 3 doubles (both kids' beds and the pullout), and then there's a "bunkhouse" that has something like 4 twin beds and two doubles.

There's the four of us, FIL & stepMIL, and BIL and futureSIL. FIL & MIL won't sleep in the queen bed together at my house, saying that they're too used to the king, so generally he sleeps in the queen and she takes the double pullout. (Don't get me started, she drives me insane...) So, I don't know if I should tell them to sleep in the bedroom that has the double and the twin, and go buy some twin sheets?

The four of us will be there from Sunday - Thursday alone, so that's no issue. But then FIL, MIL, BIL and SIL arrive Thursday night and we have three nights like that. The boys SAY that they want to sleep in the bunkhouse, but I don't know if they'll really feel comfortable with that or not. It's the best if they do - then BIL and SIL can have the other queen, MIL and FIL in the room with two beds, and the boys in the bunkhouse on the double for which I have sheets.

Does that sound reasonable? FWIW, MIL and FIL have two guest rooms, one of which has a day bed with a trundle and the other has only 2 twins, so I don't feel bad asking one of them to sleep on a twin. :rolleyes1 :lmao: (And yes, I do see the irony of her then saying my queen guest bed is too small.)

Good Morning All!!! Not to much going onher just housework:eek: I actually found suplies for school from last years bargains !!! hiswas the first year we didn't run out of Filler paper !! I swear those girls supply the whole class :lmao:

V Glad your Leo is back !!!!:hug:
We watched Parent Trap last night .. in the part where Annie says to her Dad who is trying to tell her he is marrying THAT girl and Annie says she always wanted an "Older sister " Kyle pipes up that he wants a brother and he wants him to be a WHOLE BROTHER:lmao:( his sisters are half sisters !!!) I got a kick outta that!!:rotfl2:

They have the uniforms and stuff out here too:sad2:

Didn't say anything to us about it. I just heard some hammering and some people were back there moving it. We now have about 20 feet more yard, across the entire yard. We showed my bil and sis and they said that property is the same size as their backyard.

That's great! And you didn't have to get "into the mddle" of it!:thumbsup2

Janet: Whoo Hoo! Have fun at DW. (That's Dutch Wonderland...LOL)

Thanks! It should be alot of fun:goodvibes

No word from NotBob today. He's flying to some other island (don't know which) to see some customers and won't be back to Tokyo until Tuesday night(???? or was it Wednesday night????) I don't know. He's fine though.

Glad he is okay, but I would hate not being able to talk to to Jim:hug: Does he get to go to Tokyo Disney while he is there?

Sounds great especially the no teens :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2

Nipped into town this morning, got Jess a couple of little bits for her Birthday, then we did the supermarket and were going to have lunch before we went and played some golf. But we were so quick we went straight there and have just had lunch now!

WHen is Jess's B-Day?

GOOD morning!!! :yay: My boy is back, my boy is back, my boy is back! As always, there's some reprogramming to be done, but he came home very happy to be back and said he missed me "sooooo much!" :goodvibes

He's at Horse Camp this week and was very excited to see his equine buddies again. It was so very nice to start my morning with him again.

:woohoo::yay::hug:

Unlike LL, I have no binder. :rotfl2:

Works for me:rolleyes:

We had a good day with our friends on the boat. :goodvibes I would have some pictures, but D & I both forgot the camera. Then... When we got home, D said, "Where IS the camera." After a full search, we think it pretty much HAS to be tucked away on the boat. :confused3 I am hopeful, because otherwise it's just gone. Sigh. He says he took it a week ago today, when he took the boys by himself and I stayed here to clean, do the dentist, etc. I haven't seen it since - the last pictures on the computer are from the 4th - and I'm usually very quick to move them over.

Hope you find it!

Sleeping arrangements sound reasonable to me:thumbsup2
=============================================

It's Monday - let the work insanity begin:headache: I am back to covering 2 units for this week. I have a headache and my back hurts, both of which I think are from stress:sad2:

I can't wait for the weekend and our little getaway.

Kristel I though I quoted you. Can't wait to see the patio!
