Advice Needed - I Can’t Use My Tool Bar Anymore

I’ve been having all sorts of DIS issues these days, of which I’m not going to get into all of them. My newest issue is the tool bar is completely unavailable to me it. It’s there, I see it, but can’t use it. So I can’t post photos, I can’t use the emojis or anything.

This problem is on my iPad only, which is where I do 95% of my posts. I can use the tool bar on my phone or computer at work. I’m not using my phone all the time, which means my polls are going to be pretty dull now without the ability to post pictures.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this, please share them with me.

I did send a PM to all the webmasters except Corey, who is not accepting PMs - I’m sure he was getting bombarded with lots of PMs from unhappy people - I’m not the only person having posting issues.

I did post a thread about this in the technical support forum too.

Click on the [ ] symbol near the right to toggle the BB code. You likely have it switched off. I have accedentally done that before. That should reactivate all of the text options.

If in the future you nerd to contact Corey for something, he does prefer email. And yes, he does not like PM's

Something wonked during the last round of iPad updates. The DIS is being very weird for me too - adblock isn't working properly, the screen keeps reloading and various other glitches. I'm not sure what the problem is. Other sites are working OK and the DIS works just fine on my laptop. It's irksome.

I was having exactly the same problem, until I installed a trial of the Premium version of Adblock. Like magic, DISboards is working perfectly again. I’m afraid I’ll be dropping $40 to keep it. One more of my regular websites recently developed the same problems, which seem to be related to advertising on the site.

I had a lot of issues as well on my phone and laptop. The tech board suggested to use Firefox. It works great. I don't use dis boards on iPad so I can't speak to that.

If general) you can't find the [ ] it may be hidden underneath 3 vertical dots to the right of the circular arrow (the back button.) Click on the 3 Dots and the rest of the hidden toolbar shows up.


Clicking on the [ ] and getting rid of the toolbar is actually a good feature at times. Say you want to copy and paste part of an article on the web. But it has too many links embedded in the article to other places or is formatted funny, like the headline is HUGE. All you want is the text to copy & paste here.

Copy the article (or in my example below, a list,) from the webpage as is. It normally looks like this:

Then Click on the [ ] again and you will see all the links gone:
