Thanks Janet... I miss "Indian Red" :sad1: .. But I do have a box of crayons here that still has an "Indian Red" in it. :thumbsup2

Just put the kids to bed... and I am off for some TV time with Hubby.

Goodnight Janet

OMG that must have been scarey hitting that deer!!:scared1: :scared1: They can do a lot of damage!!
Crayola factory looks very neat!! 10c a day for the farmers Huh!::yes::
Seems likeeveryone is trying to steal my Jo! Don't forget who said you were the Bestest first!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Rach...hope everything is okay!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, had a wonderfully productive day...as I've been reading the whole time. I did go out grocery shopping since my motha has nothing but Lean Cuisine in da house! :faint: Oh...and chicken and ground beef. But, nada in the way of any actual sustenance that Jon can ingest. Whatev. My motha's a loon.
We didn't go do anything else today...as I had my niece...and she and Jon voted to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks and Spiderwick. Nice excuse for me to read.
Other than that...nada.
Tomorrow we're off to see Wall-E!!
Janet~ The crayola factory looks so cool. I love to see how things are made. And I've got to say, Jimmy has the coolest helmet! :thumbsup2
Katt~ Has life settled a bit for you since getting home? I hope things are turning around :goodvibes
OMG---I had no idea! The poor little crayons--the last of their line.....:(
hey everyone!!! i'm working a double today, i;m out in triage, so i'll be on when i don't have anyone !! i have an inlaw story i want to ask your opinion on ,but i will probably have to wait until tomorrow when i'm not at work. i just want to know if i'm being witchy or reasonable!! of course, i think reasonable, but want some outsiders opinion.
but in other news, it's been a crazy past 2 days. last night, my dh hit a deer with all 3 kids in the car. thank god, everyone was okay. don't know about the deer-- he couldn't find bambi-- it was dark out, on a country road. but, car is not okay!!! :scared1: so , insurance company will come out next week, but our deductable is $500!! sucks! but it could be much , much worse. nobody was hurt and that's all i care about. okay, still sucks having to shell out the money :rotfl2:
then , at work last night, some pt went postal. security came out. cops were already there for something else. so cop is trying to help. this guy dives towards the cop, so cop pepper sprays the guy , right by the nurses station. :eek: we had a full er. quickly shut all the doors. but whole staff was coughing , eyes watering. that crap disperses and lingers forever!!!
dude, we should be on that show life in the er!!! :rotfl2:
okay, off to lunch break!!
Wow--that never happens in my nursing home!
Actually here is a pic of the display about the one's with the name changes. Can't really see the cards for what they say!
Well, I for one, am an expert in Prussian history and have flesh colored skin! ;)
ACtually I thought about you today too TE. My girlfriends mother is in a nursinghome, she is in the end stages of alzheimers :sad2: They rushed her to the hospital last week. SHe is on a feeding tube (comfort only) and she was dehydrated:confused3 As my friend was telling me all this it didn't sound right to me and I said to myself "self ask TE that if proper care was administered with the feeding tube would this woman be dehydrated?":confused3
I carefully calculate the fluid needs for my tube fed residents and then calculate how much water the formula contains, and I have the nurses give them extra water through the tube for meds and to meet their needs. Their needs can greatly increase quickly though if they have a fever, infection, etc. which makes it tough. It's a big red flag if anyone gets dehydrated so I watch it pretty closely.
Alzheimers is really a sad way to go--takes away your whole life.
thanks all for your concern :hug:
the kids didn't even react really. dh said it was not much of an impact. he only expected to see some scratches. well, he got out of the car and the whole front bumper is dented and hanging off on the side. side panel dented and hood dented. we have a honda pilot and it must be a good car to take that kind of hit and not really "feel" it. so it's all right, just a major :headache: .
te-- yeah, i worked in a nursing home when i first got out of nursing school and nothin like that ever happened there. i like it in er , tho!!! what do yo do in the nursing home, are you a nurse?
hello everyone else.
the posts are all screwy, i have to go back and see if i missed any!!!
No, I'm a dietitian and diabetes educator (RD CDE)...I had been working outpt diabetes for years and just recently started PT in a 200 bed rehab/long term care. I really love it though--I find it really worthwhile working with the elderly and I like being able to get to know them.
Do you like the ER?? In TX, I worked in a indigent care hospital and our ER was like a combat zone--lots of people, no beds, and many drive-by shootings/drugs, etc. ( I just got called in to do some basic diabetes education---didn't work too well when they felt like crap then...)
Rachel- yikes on the patient thing and the deer thing! :scared1: I'm pretty sure that you won't have to fork over the money for the deductible. usually, it's taken out of the check they give you right off the bat. Maybe you can find someone to do the work for $500 less? :confused3
TE- How's puppy? My friend just called and said she got a new puppy that's 6 weeks old and will only be 4 pounds when he's full grown! :faint:
Janet- I love the pics! Something's wrong with those other kids' faces. :eek: You shouldn't let Jimmy hang out with them anymore in case it's contagious! :rotfl2: :duck:
Also- A has been asking for skates, but we live on a hill. I'm so scared already when he comes fish-tailing on his bike down the hill, I can't handle skates, so I've been ignoring him.
The girls and I watched Pride and Prejudice tonight. It was so good. I also watched 2 hours of "The 15 top Beauty Pageant Scandals." :rotfl: I also napped. :faint:
I feel so lazy, but I know that I feel better today than I have all week. So, it must be the right thing to do. :worried: My fabulous hubby is still working his buns off. He's cleaned out the whole garage out and is taking 3 loads of stuff the the Goodwill and it's 10p.m.! He also mowed and watered the grass, played with the kids, went to the grocery store, did a bit of housework, cooked dinner and had to go in to the office for 2 hours to get some guy a part. :faint: :faint: :faint:
He's amazing! :lovestruc :cloud9: I couldn't do all of that on a good day!
I guess I'm going to lay down and watch more stupid t.v. popcorn::
Catch you chicas tomorrow! :dance3:
that sounds fun!! from working in the er, i can say there are lots of people who could benefit from some diabetic diet teaching, kwim?! i just luv er, i found my niche there!!! i liked the residents in the nursing home, but as a nurse, it's very hard. there is sooo much to do and you have to supervise the nursing assistants. there were some good ones and there were some not so good ones. even when it's crazy, i gotta luv my er!!:goodvibes
Rach...hope everything is okay!
thanks, everything is good. just a pain in the behind!!! have fun seeing wall-e!! oh , read your tr, can't wait to see what happens with motha!!:laughing:
really? i never even thought of that. we;ve had our car insurance through usaa (my husband was in the airforce, its only for service members) and we've never had a claim in 10yrs. they were super nice, but i wasn't really sure how the deductable works. i'm making my dh handle all of it. he is the one that hit the deer, right?:rolleyes1
thanks for the info, i'll check into it!!
oh, i read you tr and posted!!! :goodvibes
I saw your post and answered you. (Of course it went before your post! :bitelip: ) I also sent you a long PM just now. :goodvibes
I know we've never had to deal with money out of pocket when we had hail damage or anything. So, I that's how they all do it. K's family is retired military, so I've heard of USAA. ::yes::
