She's off and on with him---they seem to argue all the time--I told her that shouldn't come till after years of marriage! Her girl BFF has been at the beach this week and her BF is annoying her so she's had a bad week.

OK, TE. You're scaring me. I'm not sure I want to deal with two teenaged girls in a few years! :scared1: I'd rather get another puppy!

I have to say, the only time I really mind doing the WW points thing is when everyone is having something I can't. I already don't eat ice cream (lactose intlolerance) so that's fine. It's when they're having FRENCH FRIES or bacon or whatever. But, I am really determined to stay on this plan! I want to lose weight before I turn 40. ;)

I fell off the wagon on Wednesday night during scrapbooking. Why in the world did she put that little bowl of M&M's right in front of me on the table???? :rotfl2:

TE: I'll take the puppy over the teenage girl any day. :thumbsup2

Me too! And I'll have two of those in a few years! (teenaged girls, not puppies) :scared1:

-----------------------
Last night, my ds15 went to his friend's house for the night. Normally I say NO to two sleepovers in a row, but he did all the mowing here on Wednesday and he HAS been away from home for a while so he's missing his buds.
Well, he calls home at 3:05 this morning, to tell me that his arm is numb and he thinks he's having a heart attack. WHAT???!!!
Ok, I'm surely mother of the year. I said, " ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You woke me up out of a sound sleep to tell me that?" You are NOT having a heart attack!
He used to have panic attacks when he was about 8. Hasn't had one since but now that I'm awake, this is sounding like he maybe slept on his arm, woke up with it numb and had a panic attack. I feel awful for being so mean but I was not awake. :guilty: Someone tell me I wasn't a bad mom.

Please.

Mel:banana:

You're not a bad mom, Mel. I get really annoyed when my DDs wake me in the middle of the night to tell me that they have to go potty. I'm like... "then go!" I mean, do they need an audience????:confused3

----------------------
It's raining here again today, so I don't know what we're doing. DH ended up taking a half day yesterday so we went to see Wall-E at 5:20 last night. As everyone else has said, it was really good. Now I need to find time to take DD7 to see Kit Kittredge. We leave for Chicago on Tuesday to go to American Girl Place for her birthday trip (the one we had to reschedule because of her strep). May wait and see if my mom wants to see the movie with us in a week or so.

Hope everyone has a great Fourth!

 For her!

I'm the only one awake still.........DH had to go to the ER last nite--his mom called as his dad was swelling a lot (had surgery on shoulder on Monday). He's ok, but needed IV diuretics to control it. He got home after 4 am I think.

Glad he was okay!:thumbsup2

Pup slept till 6:45!!! (only up at 2 am)--that's the best I've had so far! He's been a nut this morning--luckily Max loves to play with him or he'd wear me out!

He LOVED going to cheer practice and PetSmart last nite---got lots of TLC.:goodvibes

He may sleep through the night soon:yay: :yay:

I would have done the same thing Mel. HAs he called back?

Jodi--how old r your kids? Mine are 11 and 15 (both girls).

Mel--don't stress too much! I often get irritated when woke up at 3 am with "Mom---I can't sleep"...............
Great---now that's 2 of us and all the critters! :thumbsup2 ;)

.............it's now 10 am.....and still the only one up. THink I'll venture to the shower.........pup is dreaming he's chasing a rabbit apparently---little legs moving! :lmao:

My girls are 7 and 4 (going on 14). The little one is the one I worry about. DD7 has her drama queen moments, but she's not boy crazy or anything like that at all. In fact, they're watching Zack & Cody right now and just saw a kiss on the TV and she said "Gross!" DD4 has a boyfriend at preschool and says that she's going to marry him! :scared1:

I wish my kids would sleep until 10am. I'm lucky if I get to sleep until 8am.

Our dog is 9 years old now and I sometimes find myself wishing for another puppy. So, keep posting about the trials of a puppy so I don't find myself looking online for another one! After a pregnancy scare last weekend, I'm pretty sure I don't want a newborn in the house again -- even if it is a dog!

:lmao: It seems a long time ago when my kids were that little---we lived in TX then. Yes, the pup is very much like a newborn--cept I can stick him in the bathroom for a while when we leave! BA (11 yo) is really good at helping take care of him and she is helping me train him. Ab (15) has helped some too. We now have 13 animals so it's like a zoo getting everything fed around here.

...he's under my feet at the computer now......and is issuing a bad smell.................:sad2: .....probably should get him out soon!

:rotfl2: at the wedding Jodi.

We keep saying Jimmy is going to be a good polygimist. He married Emily at his old school, He married Angelina at his most recent school, and he has Sarah and ROse on the side:scared1: :lmao:

My dog is under the desk as well. It's his favorite place to hang out when someone is sitting here. I guess it's his cave.

Well, Meg only has eyes for Max, but Max seems to have other plans. He told his mom (a friend of mine) that he's going to marry Megan first, and then her BFF Anna next. His mom told him that he only gets to marry one of them. That was a major disappointment. Speaking of disappointments, Meg's going to be upset in the fall because it looks like Max is moving back to Wisconsin later this summer! :headache:

Thanks guys! He actually showed up at the front door a minute ago. Friends dropped him off on their way to the parade. He is fine. He laughed when I said, "Well, now that you've survived your near-death experience, would you like some eggs?" He laughed and said, "yeah, see how much money in food you would have saved if I died?"
Not funny, sort of morbid but he's ok. He said he figured out it was a panic attack right after our call.

It's sunny and going to be 75 today. I think I'll walk down to the craft show. Hope you guys are having a great holiday.

Happy Birthday America!!!

MEL

Hey TE, speaking of goats, did I tell you that my DD4 milked a goat back a few weeks ago? We've got a living history center near us that has animals and they were having a goat milking demonstration. And both my DD4 and her BFF took a turn milking the goat. I guess they put the milk in a bottle for an orphaned sheep!

That's neat! My goats are all meat goats, so we don't milk them.........course my 7 month old kids are still nursing.......I told Noodles she needed to cut the cord as they are as big as she is!

Do you eat your goats??? :scared1:

It was sorta funny because at one point, I saw a lamb chasing a goat across the barn, trying to nurse from her. It was hilarious. When I asked the man in charge about it, he said that they were milking the goat and feeding the lamb, but the lamb decided that he didn't like the middleman, so he just began getting the milk directly from the source!!!

So, how long do goats typically nurse??

BAD MOM.. Just Kidding.. It is a weird feeling when you wake up and your arm is numb and you maybe cannot move it.I am sure you did not "yell" .
We have to convince these kids of ours that every "papercut" is not a need for stitches.. sometimes it takes a hug.. other times it almost takes a slap in the face ( Not a real slap ..O.K. save that for our DH's :rotfl: )to make them realize they are fine.

I've met you.. You are a SUPER MOM !!!

.............it's now 10 am.....and still the only one up. THink I'll venture to the shower.........pup is dreaming he's chasing a rabbit apparently---little legs moving! :lmao:

I miss those "Puppy Dreams" want a pup or kitten again... but Sara can not handle them... Soooo we got... a "Fish" just a "Siamese fighting fish" ( Betta)
but she is thrilled. We used to do "saltwater fish" but after a move and a horrific death of the fish.. Scott abandoned the Fish tank.

Little concerned how long it will live.. just not eating very much yet.:guilty:

I wish my kids would sleep until 10am. I'm lucky if I get to sleep until 8am.
Do we have the SAME KIDS ??? :rotfl2:
Good to see you around more Jodi :goodvibes

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: We had a Cat.. that did that to our collie. When the pups stopped nursing... the fullgrown cat stepped in and Tawnie did not mind.

Lori---hope it works out with your kids. Let me know if you need a teenager or a puppy during that time! (he's eating toilet paper right now.....and barking at it. :sad2: )

your teenager or your puppy? :lmao:

 But, once they IMMIGRATE, they BECOME a UK citizen, right?? What's to offend??

And yes, I think we should have stuck with "America the Beautiful" or "our country tis of thee".......I saw Jay Leno trying to get people to sing the national anthem and many sang this anyway! :rotfl: ..............and I'm not sure ramparts have the same meaning now anyway.

Ok---best patriotic songs..............
Here's my fav: (made me cry alot after 9/11)

Title: Proud To Be An American

If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.

I’d thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘ Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say.

That I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

And I’m proud to be and American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

That song ALWAYS makes me cry. I even teared up as I read/sang to myself.

Update for Dawn

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dawn is out of surgery, and is awake and doing well. She is thoroughly enjoying her Morphine pump. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Kirt

SOunds like everything went well. I asked Kirt to keep us updated

Great! ahh, morphine--something I've never had. It makes the men in my family mean so not sure what it would do to me!

Please...I thought she was a faker too. I"m a bad mommy!

Honey...you're gorgeous on the inside and the out. There is no reason you shouldn't be out there if you don't want to. Let's see...I have some family in Florida...hmmmmm...do you speak the spanish??? ;)

Dude...are we twins? (Well, you're way skinnier!)

I think it's wonderful that we can express our views without fear of persecution. That's why I love this country.

And I agree with you...all except for that cat thing. ;)

POke her in the eye and get it over with. ;)

Well, Kinzee Faith has something called fibrocartilagenous emboli...which is a nerve pain disorder, brought on by immunological suppression. So, her nerves basically send intense feelings of pain over her body.

They are treating her with anti-inflamatories...and hopefully, this will clear up. Otherwise, we have to get a doggy CT scan...can't wait to see how much that will cost!

I'm back in Clovis...and it feels wierd! Not like home anymore already.

I'm going out with friends from my (old) work tonight. So, I won't be posting tonight...as I'm hoping to not be sitting upright! ;)

Everyone...have a wonderful 4th!

wow! Poor baby. I hope it doesn't cost too much. At least you know what is wrong now.

hello there!! i'm new here, just 2 months!! i'm rachel, married with 3 kids, work as an er nurse!

Hi! Nice to "meet" you. I am Cheri, married with no kids, 2 dogs, I'm an accountant. And I like long walks with Mickey along Main Street. ;)

Happy Fourth July to all my Favorite Americans!

Those are good words! What's the tune??
If you go to youtunes you can search for Rule Britannia, I also like Land of Hope and Glory :thumbsup2

Jo: I love the words for that song too! God save the Queen reminds me of Eddie Izzard. "God Save the Queen, send big dogs to bite her bum!!" ha!
Never heard that version :rotfl2:

I have a way for you and/or David to make some extra money!!:cool1:

Found this thread...check out the bottom link!!:lmao:

LY/MI!!
OMG what a crazy person and why a British accent? :rotfl2:

Poor thing, hope it dosn't cost you too much!

I would have rather had it on Saturday, but DBIL wouldn't have been able to come. Now I am really bummed that it is tomorrow becasue my brother just invited us over to their place and they have a pool. WOnder if the in-laws would notice if Jimmy and I just sort of disappeared:rolleyes1
So what did you do????

My experience with "In Laws" .. they FIRST notice the Kids Missing.. then The Adults...
With my parents yes with Davids no :sad2:

I am a firm believer in God *** my Mum said !!!Seriuosly I am a believer !! I love the Freedom of speech here in the U.S. and in England  and think the next honest politian will be the first!!:rotfl: I was a Tory in England and so am a Republican here, but I vote for whoever I want regardless of party!!
I vote Tory too Rosie and always wondered what the equivalent was in the US!

wtg jo, okay that rhymes!!! :thumbsup2
Thanks :rotfl2:

Hope Dawn is recovering well and :wave2: to everyone else!

I'm off to Jessica's school tonight to watch Pirates of Penzance, she's not in it but some of her friends are so she wants to see it!

Tomorrow we're off to the MIL's for the weekend (well I'll pick David up from work and we won't get there till about 5pm) as it's her 70th birthday. I just hate that we're expected to go there but the last time they came here was over 2 years ago. It's only a 2 hour trip and they're both retired :headache: Also we have to pay for our own meal at her party :rotfl2: Oh and we all chip in to pay for her and FIL's meals too :sad2: Oh well!!!!

LL, going to that site right away! I hadn't heard about them. I have to say, the only time I really mind doing the WW points thing is when everyone is having something I can't. I already don't eat ice cream (lactose intlolerance) so that's fine. It's when they're having FRENCH FRIES or bacon or whatever. But, I am really determined to stay on this plan! I want to lose weight before I turn 40. ;)

I've had a hard time doing the flex plan...core worked great for me. Lost 20 lbs last year doing that. I never felt like there was stuff I couldn't have and I could have as much as I wanted (therein lies the problem though!). I went on blood pressure medication in December and within just a few months I'd gained 11 lbs...

Seems like no matter what I do, the weight won't stop. I have been back on WW for 12 weeks and have only lost 3 out of the 12 weeks. Every week I'm up - whether it's .4 or 1.4...it's so frustrating!:headache:

Ok, I'm surely mother of the year. I said, " ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You woke me up out of a sound sleep to tell me that?" You are NOT having a heart attack!

I'd give you my MOTY trophy, however, I had to take it out and dust it off for myself again this morning. Apprently I'm the bullying-est bully IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD and Michael's never going to speak to me again.

All because, GASP...I made him go to the grocery store with me and wouldn't let him stay home alone...:headache:

Big, heavy sigh...NOT the way I wanted to start off my long weekend. My DH is off cruising around in the Vette with his dumb-a** buddy playing golf today and I get to stay home and deal with a 6 year old who doesn't feel he needs to do things he doesn't want to do...

You should have seen him...YELLING AND SCREAMING at me...

And...since dooty runs down hill, DH is going to get some yelling and screaming when HE gets home:rotfl2:

:guilty: Someone tell me I wasn't a bad mom.

Ok, you weren't a bad mom. Gotta admit, I laughed about the eggs...good one!!:thumbsup2

They really don't each much so maybe you don't need to be concerned. I read somewhere that if you feed them every day you're actually spoiling them. The book said that every other day or every two days you should give them 3-4 pellets of their food, so maybe you don't need to worry.

We have a Betta and he's about 5-1/2 years old now. (I don't listen to the book though and feed him every day)

He is THE strangest fish you've ever seen...wags his back end like a dog and gets all excited when you pay attention to him. All you have to do is say "Hello" in a really silly high-pitched voice and he goes crazy! If you stick your finger in his bowl he'd swim up and rub his back against it.

He lays flat on his side at the bottom of his bowl a lot - looking like he's acting like a dog - half the time he looks dead.

And he's well-traveled...goes on road trips when we can't find a "fish-sitter"...he sits in the cup holder in a spaghetti sauce jar with holes poked in the top!

And Angel's a really weird looking fish too - he's purple and pink but in the last 6 or 8 months he's been turning a really funky blue color. Old age?:confused3

I don't know much about these fish except this one won't die...we forgot him once and left him home and went away for 9 days...boy was he glad to see us when we got home!!:lmao:

I sure do miss having a dog though...:guilty: Ours died a year and a half ago and I still miss him dearly. Hopefully we'll get another one after we move. Strange as it sounds, puppy-breath is one of my favorite smells:rolleyes:

Happy Fourth July to all my Favorite Americans!

Hi there my friend!! And thanks!

Oh and congrats on 13,000 posts...HOLY COW!! How do you manage to play so much golf and still have such a high post count?!?! :confused3 ;)

OMG what a crazy person and why a British accent?

I don't know, but I thought it was pretty funny!:rotfl2:

I solve this issue by NOT going to meetings, not owning a scale and doing WW "my way." I know it's probably not the "right" way, but I am aware enough that I can tell you that HAD I been counting points for the last few years, I would have been eating AT LEAST 55 a day. So, counting the points and *trying* to stick to 28 a day is a HUGE improvement in my eating. Maybe the WW police would say that I can't really say I'm doing WW but it works for me, LL.
Also, I've been trying to walk every day (on treadmill or outside.) My 18's were so tight I had to lay down to zip when I started my version of WW. Now I can button and zip standing up. That's cool with me. Rachel joined the website I use, Fatsecret dot com. It's a great tool to use to count pts. Wanna join and be our friend? Just search for Muffinygood at the top of the page after selecting "memeber" in the search box.
