Thanks Dana! :bday:

I hope you are feeling better wrt motivation. We all go through it - definitely tough, but at least we have the Minnie to look forward to soon!

Going to the Boston Marathon today (so much fun!) inspired me to go out tonight instead of waiting till tomorrow.

Did D1W4 (we are doing W4 for a second week) again.

Here are my totals for the weeks I am missing on the spreadsheet--

week ending 4-11:
18 miles-4.5 hours and another 1.5 hours crosstraining

week ending 4-17:
10 miles-2 hours and another 1.5 hours crosstraining

I've got a good start on this week:woohoo:

Keep up the great work Heroes!

Update: I'm still on restrictions :guilty: but I am improving, so I'm happy about that. Can cabin fever kill someone?...

Thanks Dana. The spreadsheet looks correct for me. (Well, I just looked at the last two weeks...)

I'm still injured. After taking a week off I went out for a run today and had to stop at 1.5 miles. Definitely my left knee. About to go make an appointment with the doc. I'm very sorry team! :sad2:

Goodness... I hope you start feeling better soon. Don't worry about us, although the competition is fun it's not like we are winning anything so you're not letting us down or anything. See your doc, take ibuprofin, and ICE!!

I was a bum the last couple weeks, just out of pure laziness and grumpiness. I have also managed in all of my laziness and grumpiness to gain about 20 lbs over the last 6 months. So... as of yesterday I am back on track and feeling better. I have 18 miles on track for this week, 21.3 for next and it only gets better from there!! I hope everyone is having an awesome week, and can't wait to hear about all of the hard work ya'll have been doing!!

Dana

Woohoo! Go, Herc's! And a big THANK YOU to Dana for stepping up while I try to take care of the way too much stuff that piled up over the past two weeks.

Last night, I did 30 minutes of core work. Tonight I walked for 38 minutes (1.84 miles). I'm going to fit in some core work before bed.

See you all tomorrow!

Duckie

ps I'm so excited--only a week away for the Minnie! *fingers crossed* Please don't let me get swept!

Well... yesterday I put in 3 miles in 21:14. and then today I got in 1:27:48 in time for my yard work (mowing, edging, weed wacking, etc). I think I am more tired from today than yesterday!! Tomorrow I have 4 miles planned!! Hope everyone had a wonderful day!!

Dana

Shan, I'm sorry about your knee.

Duckie, can't wait to hear your report back after the Minnie!

Today I did W4 D5, yes we are on the two week plan again, of the C25K.

2.3 miles

Girl, do you have any idea how awesome 2.3 miles in 31 minutes is? Seriously, my MIL can't even walk around Target without getting winded. You are doing something that ALOT of people don't even bother to do because "it's too hard". Be proud of yourself, what you can do, and your drive to keep getting better. I know I am!!

p.s. if it makes you feel any better I had to redo week 3 twice when I first started the C25k!!

Dana

Duckie, Dana and the Herc's Heroes Team. I'm sending you guys a new player, EpcotDude. I'm also putting Sandy and her hubby who haven't been on for quite a while on LTO inactive status.

Please be on your best behavior and none of that, oh well never mind you will anyway.:rolleyes1

Morning team!

Allyson - Congrats on your 2.3 miles! It is terrific that you got some inspiration from the Boston Marathon!

Dana - Wow, what a smoking fast 3 miler! We all have those moments of grumpiness (cripes, I've had bronchitis since the end of January, that is pretty grumpy enducing), but it sounds like you are back on track. Looking forward to meeting you at the Minnie!

Shan - Major hugs and PD for you. I hope you get some good answers from the doc. It may be worthwhile seeing a chiro who specializes in Active Release as well - it can work wonders.

EpcotDude - Welcome to the team!

Duckie - Good job on the core work and your walk. It sounds like you will be ready for your upcoming vacation! Looking foward to meeting you at the Minnie as well!

Gecko - So sorry to hear you are still on restrictions - more hugs and PD to you as well.

Cohoe - Sounds like you are doing great, keep up the good work!

As for me - I got in a rough 3 miles on Monday. I was trudging through major snow and my shin was killing me. I went for some Active Release yesterday and it helped a lot. My shin problem stems from a tight calf and tight hip flexor. Yesterday was my first night of bikini boot camp. I'm fence sitting on whether I'll run today, but I have my gear in case I want to go over lunch.

Keep up the good work team!

Well... I just got done with my 4 miles for today (30:20) along with a .5 mile cool down in 4:45. I am making sure to track my cool downs too so I can add them to the stats for the team.

Leana - thank you!! I am really excited to be back in gear for this race!! I have an 8 miler planned for this Saturday just to make sure I am prepared!! Can't wait to see you!! I hope your shin starts feeling better soon. Have you tried icing? It seems to help me quite a bit when my shins start bothering me.

Hi Everyone,
I was placed on your team by Windwalker. I hope you do not mind. I'm from NJ. I have been training for a marathon and hope to remain motivated through the 09 WDW half and beyond. When should I start tracking my miles? Do miles in races count?

Welcome!! I would go ahead and include any miles you have put in this week as your total for the team. The weeks usually run Saturday-Friday, however sometimes in order to get the months to tally correctly there may be an extra day or two added at the end of the month. We track not only miles, but minutes (which includes Cross Training, and any other strenuous continuous activity. Like mowing the lawn, etc. ). Races count double for miles and minutes (so for a 5k, you actually get credit for 6.2 miles). Also if you bike we count those miles and minutes as well. If you have any questions at all please let me or duckie know and we will do our best to help!!

Dana

Thank you all for the warm welcome. It sounds like we have a very strong and motivated team. I hope I can live up to it.
So far for the week ending Apr 25

Mon 6 miles ran 58 min
Tue 2 miles walk 34 min
Wed 10 miles ran 1:39

The plan is to walk three tomorrow, run 14 on Friday, and rest Sat.

Holy crap!! Look at those miles!! Glad we got you on our team!!;) Seriously though, when is your upcoming marathon? Is this your first?

Ok... well remember those 20lbs I was telling you guys about. I think I just added to it!! Somehow I managed to convince myself that fried shrimp, fried scallops, and hush puppies wouldn't be too bad. I'll pay for that on the scale tomorrow!!

I hope everyrone had a great day, and I'll check back in the morning!!

Dana
