TEAM DONALD--Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge

I'm going to be a day late in reporting in. Sick in bed. I'll try to get it tomorrow. (I weigh on my wii so I'll have to get it up in the morning.) I'll measure tomorrow too. Sorry.

Feel better! You have until Monday night at 7:30 PM EST to weigh in so there's no rush! Take care of yourself!

I watched all of last season. They didn't show every contestant that I saw. And what methods do they use to calculate fat %. I think that is very very hard to accurately factor. The calculations can be off and the calipers as well. Maybe his fancy scanners are more accurate. I wasn't say they DID lose muscle I said I wondered. I'm sure they usually eat 1200 calories but I'm learning so much on why that will slow metabolism too. Now maybe with their intense muscle building workouts it may balance out. But it just made me wonder. And to be honest that Dr. creeps me out BIG TIME. I've seen weight machines on the show. If they aren't being used why are they there? 1200 calories I've read should be a min if you AREN'T exercising. And that you should eat the calories you burn to keep the net calories at 1200. :confused3 Anyway I got to thinking that was their 3 meals so maybe they get 200 or so to work with snacks. ;) I didn't mean to pick it apart or downgrade the program. It's quite obvious that it works. Especially whatever the unknowns have been doing. .

They don't use calipers. They use 3D imaging devices for the MRI's. And if I remember correctly from the book - it's something called a Body Pod that measures the body composition and metabolic rate. Believe me I'm not a BL expert - it's just I read the Doctors book. The weight machines are used by the people with joint problems, etc. But for the most part the BL use their own body weight, example instead of using a leg machine - they do squats. Now a person with bad knees, would use the machine. I think I read the contestants eat about 7 calories/pound. So if someone weight 200 pounds they would eat 1400, 300 2100.

Evening everybody.

SO glad its Friday:thumbsup2 Busy day at work, then stopped at the vet to pick up med refills for Onslow(my doggie). Walked him when we got home, then a bath for him and supper for us. Lots to do. And I MIGHT clean the bathroom before i go to bed:rotfl2: or it may wait until morning, we'll have to see.

But for now, its time to play BL Coach:banana:

Responses will be next post.

Good morning Team Donald!!
Sorry I was a bit of a slacker coach yesterday, and just didn't get motivated to come on here and catch up. I did find myself motivated to eat half a bag of cheddar cheese goldfish

Isnt it amazing how easy it is to do this. I sometimes think I should make a rule that the only way I can eat is if I am doing some kind of physical exertion and I bet the unnecessary snacking would go away really quick.:lmao:

Today was my WI for WW so I just used it for the challenge -- down another 1.5 for a total of 7.5 for the challenge. And now I'm back to where I ended the last challenge in December -- will try not to see those pounds again -- losing them twice is enough. :sad2: I was down a couple of inches too! :cool1:

Have a great day Donalds! :donald:

Wow Lisa that is wonderful. Great work. Keep it up Princess!!!!!

I had a good day today. I slept in this morning and let DH take care of getting DS out the door and I loved it!

Hi Shawn. Miss talking with you. Im glad you had a good start to your day. I hope your doing well and your trip to paris sounds wonderful!

OK, lately i have been living in the neighborhood called "Its always Something"

Hi Maureen! I have to admit I feel like I have been living in that neighborhood for the past few years.:lmao: I hope things getter better for you soon.

Normally, if he was working, I would have no problem taking care of this myself.... but I think he is bored and needs a project. Since he is still working one-handed, I think this will be a good project for he and DS to do after school today. DH can show DS how to install the new thermostats and they can work together!
DH doesn't need my constant attention/help any more, so it is time to get back to normal life, which means back to substitute teaching.

Hi P!!! I miss talking to you. Im so glad to read that dh is improving and that you are all getting back to your routines. Boy your kiddos keep you busy.

Just wanted to stop over from Team Mickey to say hello. I have been missing talking to all of you. I am looking forward to the merging of the teams at some point in the challenge. Keep up the great work!!!!!

We miss you too! I'm anxious for the merge too. But it is nice talking to some new people about this journey!

Evening friends! I had a good day and worked the cookie dough into the day ( as well as my leftover pizza from Wednesday). But since I spent so many points on that stuff today, unfortunately I'll be going to bed hungry tonight. But that said..... "hunger is not an emergency"!! ;)

Talk to you all tomorrow!...............P

Mikamah: I’m fine, Car’s in the shop. I ran it into 1 of those little poles at a WAWA. Hopefully will get it back sometime next week.

I think Winter is prime-time for getting off track especially because of the weather. That’s 1 of the reasons I asked the question. But I think you’ve made some great decisions. A little extra time to re-group and time with your family will help as well. :wizard:

I hope you enjoy your trip.

Hi Lisa: I missed coaching last time around. It should be a fun week.

You can't beat yourself up when you go off track! I bet you got a lot more activity in during that busy time than you realized, Maureen. You can't change what happened but you can move forward. "Being defeated is often temporary; giving up is what makes it permanent." - Marilyn vos Savant As my friend, mikamah, would say Never give up!

My scale certainly said so Lisa. I may not have gotten in favorite workouts but I know I used up every drop of energy I had during that time, and to be honest it really was not a good feeling to be like that. Especially, since I know that I’ve gained energy since I started working. But I just kept losing right up until my birthday. Didn’t matter what I did, the weight kept going down. And then I went on my birthday trip to my parents’ house and gained 8lbs. Well, I lost it before and I’ll lose it again.

tink lover: Everything does indeed play a factor in our weight. I had hoped to lose 40lbs by my last birthday. It didn’t happen, but I’m not far off the mark. A little longer and I WILL get there. You’ll make yours too. Hope the cycling went well

pjilla: First off, I need to say.... I don't think of this as a BL plan. This is my Healthy Lifestyle. It doesn't have an end date/time. I'm not doing it just because of this challenge or the challenge before this or after this. That said......

I LOVE that term!!!:thumbsup2 I used the BL plan for my questions, because I just couldn’t come up with anything better. Heck, I’m impressed I have questions thought out at all this week, and I actually have most of the week covered amazingly.

I think you need to focus on the sentence “It doesn't have an end date/time”
OK, so you had a Raisinets binge, personally I don’t see the attraction, but we all have our own vices. With Aunt Flo’s visit this week’s vice has been Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. HAD to have em. Will that keep me from losing all of the weight I gained during my birthday? Probably, but the vice has run its course for now, and its time for an Oh well, and start again tomorrow.

I have a rule for visits from AF….she gets what she wants. If she wants soda, she gets it. Brownies, donuts, etc……within reason I just let it go. I purposely allow myself to give in and follow the hormone induced needs. BUT, that doesn’t mean I fall so far off my routine I can’t get back on. I don’t eat 24/7 with her, though some months she’d like me to. But I specifically allow myself to fail for a few days if I need to, and I don’t always need to. But if I do I’ve made allowances ahead of time.

Lovetoscrap: That is so very true, and something I have yet to master working at Target. I have mastered bringing in my own lunch to work the overwhelming majority of the time. Grabbing a yogurt for my first break of the day and sticking with water all day long at work. BUT I have yet to master grabbing something healthy for an after work snack. Past couple of days its peanut butter cups, often it’s a soft pretzel. I go through runs of having a power bar or something, but just can’t seem to stick with it. Drives me nuts, but there it is. I will have quit Target long before i figure it out:confused3

Melissa: I left SP for the same reasons. I just didn’t find it very user friendly. I just wish I could stick with food diaries. I never can. And I’m so sucked in between here and the cruising boards right now, that I don’t even think about visiting the community section.

Jayne: Good luck with your decision. I hope it gets you where you want to be weight wise. :wizard:

Phors: I hope you feel better soon. Being sick is no fun at all.

Stacy: GREAT JOB with the weigh in. That is definitely a nice healthy loss. You should find a nice ticker that you like and every time you record your new weights it counts down for you. Then its just a couple of clicks to update the sig.:thumbsup2

Buffy: I can tell them but I seriously doubt they’ll listen to me. I haven’t been in a Walmart in months and never shop there, so I can’t even tell you how that’s laid out. All I know is that I want the lightbulbs next to the lamps:rotfl2:

I know where you are. You have to stop yourself and say OK, that’s done. Then get whatever you can back on track again. May take 2 days may take 3. But just say OK, that was a little break and its time to get back to work. It took me ages to get here, but I did.

Hi Maureen! I have to admit I feel like I have been living in that neighborhood for the past few years.:lmao: I hope things getter better for you soon.

I seem to take a year off between them. Most of last year was spent in this neighborhood, but the year before was nice a quiet. I'm hoping to be moving out of this neighborhood soon. God knows I don't need anything else:lmao:

Today's is a fun question.

If you have been on a cruise what is your favorite ship? If you haven't would you like to, and which ship do you want to try the most?

Mine is the Magic and I am planning my second cruise on her for this Oct. Such a beautiful ship and great people on board. I think this is the definition of "Vacation":cloud9:

I haven't been on a cruise yet, unless you count the old scotia prince ferry to Nova Scotia. I'm planning to take a cruise for my 50th in 3 years and am looking forward to hearing everyone's opinions. I know we have some big cruise lovers here. Originally I thought I'd take a disney cruise, but we may do a different cruise, with my brother and family so my niece and ds will be together. We do like casinos and some of the other cruises are less expensive. Of course i'd love to hear comparisons. I know disney is just amazing. Luckily I've got plenty of time to plan.:lmao:

Great question.

Just checking in before I get moving. My friend I was going to run/walk with can't go today, so I'm going to do the wii fit, and will do 30 min of the free run at least. I did get back on to journalling my food yesterday, and will bring that to my brothers. Happy there's only a few snow showers expected today, but another big storm coming mid week. crazy winter.

LIndsay- Great to see you too! Thanks for popping in, and I too am looking forward to eventually merging threads to catch back up with all of you, too. I agree with pamela, and it is so nice to get to know some more wish-ers here on Team donald! I like that idea of only snacking after physical exertion, but I think I'd need jillian here to kick my butt some nights.

Buffy- :hug:Glad the neck is a little better, and I'm glad you're posting even though you're feeling off track. You are not a failure, you are a success because you are here, and you are going to keep on trying, and never give up. It may be slow, and you will backslide sometimes, but even if it takes years or decades to get to your goal, (like it's taking me) every day that we may do the right things is a day that we didn't spiral out of control. Hang in there. And you can definitely blame much of this on the freaking awful january we have had. Here's to a much better february!!!

Lisa- Hear you've got a blizzard on the way.:scared1: Stay safe.

Hello to everyone I've missed. Off to burn some calories, and get things ready to go to my brothers. So much to pack with the snow and sledding planned for just one night. Ah, well, as I have heard, but don't quite believe yet, spring is on the way.

Have a wonderful weekend, team!

Down 2 pounds for my first week in the BL challenge! :thumbsup2:cool1:

:woohoo: Nice loss!

Typically I beat myself up about it because I feel like a failure (still an issue from growing up) but I'm trying to retrain my brain and have my little BL angels on my shoulders telling me to accept and move forward.

Live and learn. :littleangel: Glad that you are feeling better, Buffy!

Just wanted to stop over from Team Mickey to say hello. I have been missing talking to all of you. I am looking forward to the merging of the teams at some point in the challenge. Keep up the great work!!!!!

:wave2: Hi Lindsay! Thanks for stopping by -- we miss you, too! princess:

 You worked it into your points and it worked with your life -- sorry you were hungry, though.

Where are you going to cruise, Maureen? :goodvibes

I have never been on a cruise. We were scheduled to go on the Disney Wonder at the end of April for the repo cruise from LA to Vancouver -- LuvBaloo is going on that cruise -- but cancelled due to being unable to take DS out of school for a week now that he is older.

I think the Disney Dream looks like a lot of fun and I really, really want to go to Castaway Cay someday! :cloud9:

Just checking in before I get moving. My friend I was going to run/walk with can't go today, so I'm going to do the wii fit, and will do 30 min of the free run at least. Have a safe drive and a great time, Kathy! :goodvibes It's nice to get away even just for a night. ::yes::

Yes, a little storm coming through here. It's been so warm -- in the 40's that it is not too bad. It is still January, unfortunately. I'll do my 6 mile run this morning and a little grocery shopping and then can stay home until Monday.

The long range forecast for WDW for a month from today is high 75 and low of 50 -- I could do that! :beach:

Have a great day Donalds! :donald:

Have a great day

Good Morning Team Donald.

Yes for once in a blue moon I slept until 7 this morning. I just finished breakfast and now I have to plan my day. So far there is nothing planned until a fundraiser I should go to tonight.

Let me just answer the QOTD We have nevere been on a cruise. Dh is afraid of getting sea sick. We are thinking of maybe doing a 3 or 4 day to see how he handles it. We have been looking at some river cruises here in the northeast. The boats are small. The one that has interest dh is the "Lobster Cruise"

Will be back later the reply to people.

Have a happy and healthy day. Don't forget to journal.

If you have been on a cruise what is your favorite ship? If you haven't would you like to, and which ship do you want to try the most?

That is a fun question. We have cruised 3 times. Once for our honeymoon (over 16 years ago) on RC Monarch of the seas, a year later with RC Majesty of the seas, and a third time on a family cruise that I had no input in planning.....we took my moms ashes to Bermuda to be sprinkled & my dad booked us on an old tiny "old fogey" Celebrity cruise that I can't even remember the name of the ship.

But just recently I have been researching the cost of cruising as a family of five. I would love to try a Disney cruise, but I would also love to try one of RC's new mega ships, the Oasis or the Allure. Also, at some point in the future (probably as a DH & I only cruise) I want to go on a Mediterranean cruise.

Good Morning Donalds

Its a lovely, sunny Sat. morning here. Not sure what is all planned for my day. A little bit of cleaning, and a trip or 2 for errands probably. Got to pick up soups to make the gravy for supper then toss it in the slow cooker. Nothing fancy. Maybe organize the kitchen cabinets later today too. Make some space.

Now for replies:

Kathy: A cruise for your birthday would be fantastic. And at 3 years away you’ve got PLENTY of time to research, plan and save for your intended trip. We booked this trip on board back in Oct. 2008 with a dummy date to start and then transferred it once we really knew when it would be a good time for us to go. Paid the deposit and just saved up the money in the meantime. That’s 1 of the things I love about DCL. I can just let it ride like that to pay.

We are going on an Eastern Caribbean trip with stops at St. Martin and St. Thomas and of course Castaway Cay. I am tired of the weather, more rain than snow this winter though we had plenty of that on Christmas, so I am starting to brainstorm and plan. 8 months can’t come soon enough.:yay:

I know what you mean by counting Ferries though. Before the last cruise my only real time on the water consisted of the Cape May/Lewes Ferry

Lisa: I’m sorry you had to cancel your trip. I would love to do an Alaska cruise and a Panama Canal cruise. Wish I could have afforded the Wonder trip but it didn’t work out for us. The Dream really does sound awesome, though I think after the magic my next ship might actually wind up being the Fantasy depending on where the Magic goes. I am REALLY surprised the keep sending her to the Med. Or personal preference is for 7 day cruises at a minimum, any less and it would be why bother to unpack.

Good luck with the snow. Hope its not too bad.

Morning Dona: Does your DH get motion sick? If he doesn’t then I wouldn’t worry about it if I were him. The cruise ships ALL have stabilizers to minimize the rocking. They can’t negate it completely, but its not like you spend the first night seasick anymore for most people by and large. Plus, there are so many options available these days. You got your Dramamine, a bracelet which is a little bit of accupressure (Seabands I think), and there is stuff that be prescribed by the Dr. I think the OVERWHELMING majority of people can cruise these days without getting sick

As for journaling, this is about all the journaling I’m going to do for this week. I know I should lead by example as the coach, but honestly even if I did write down my food and whatever I’d never go back and read it:lmao:

Christine: My mom and dad did an RC cruise for their honeymoon and loved it. God, that was 40 years ago. Did a cruise to nowhere on Celebrity, and a Hawaii cruise on Holland America. When we did our last cruise we pulled in to st. Martin and had Liberty of the Seas sneak in behind us. OMG that ship was quiet pulling in, and GINORMOUS to boot. I actually think 1 of those ships would be too big for me.

Hi guys, I am down another .5 today:yay: I know my calorie intake is way down due to my tooth problem. With this temporary in for the next 2 weeks, I am being very careful. Yesterday I had a few (soft) treats because I felt weak and sorry for myself after 3 hours in the Dentist chair. I need to be careful and make some better soft choices. Thinking soup, yogurt, eggs, etc instead of the coke and cheese spread (by itself:scared1:) that I ate yesterday! There will be a bright side to this if I continue to lose at this rate:rotfl:

LisaH Thanks for posting the protein article, lots of good info!

Melissa Hang in there!:goodvibes, my weight loss, exercise, determination, motivation, etc seems to come and go. Sometimes I'm never quite sure what I did to be succesful but I just keep on trying and monitoring at whatever level I feel like for that day. When I have several strong days, I love it and when I have some weak days I just try to wait it out.

She apologized in her own way the next day.... she made breakfast for her brother while I was outside shoveling snow.

Awwww.....sweet:cutie:

cookie dough is BY FAR and AWAY my biggest food "can't resist" item

This is one of my absolute favorites too. The day that DS opened a package in the car as we drove home and we shared some was the day I realized I have a true problem with it and I was passing it on to HIM! I try to never be around it now and I certainly can never buy the already made kind. I'm so weak:laughing:

No kale eating for me, sorry! Hope you enjoy going back to your job next week, bet it will be a nice change. You had alot of good protein ideas too, thanks:goodvibes

I'm going to be a day late in reporting in. Sick in bed. I'll try to get it tomorrow. (I weigh on my wii so I'll have to get it up in the morning.) I'll measure tomorrow too. Sorry.

 Hope you feel better soon

Down 2 pounds for my first week in the BL challenge! :thumbsup2:cool1:

I will be happy with a 2-3 lb loss per week because I know that is the healthy way to do it and keep it off whilst exercising and eating sensibly. ;)

:yay: for YOU!!!!! I would be ESTATIC with 2-3 pounds per week! I average about .5 a week. I could take it up a notch but I don't think I would stick to it at that intensity for long. I think to lose 3 pounds you would have to burn in excess of 10,000 calories in one week-I just can't do it! That's about the most I ever lost in one week and it would have been like first week at WW or something like that.

Thanks!! Japanese Magnolia. We figure it's at least 70 years old because the house was built in 38'. It's much fuller now though because the maple tree next to it has been trimmed back.

WOW! Thanks for posting, really pretty. They have those trees here in Germany and it confused me at first because they just call them "Magnolia" and they don't look like Magnolia trees we have in the Southern US. Finally someone put the Japanese part out there! Just write off last week and start fresh today:goodvibes

I did not sleep well last night so I'm dragging today.
Hang in there - again, I don't know how you do it with 4 kids !!!:worship:

Hi Shawn. Miss talking with you. Im glad you had a good start to your day. I hope your doing well and your trip to paris sounds wonderful!
I am looking forward to the merging of the teams at some point in the challenge. Keep up the great work!!!!!

Lindsay:yay::yay: I miss talking with you too! My motivation was way down at the beginning of this challenge but now that we know everyone a little better, I have gotten some nice encouragement and am starting to get some mojo going again. Only .5 more to go to get my 25 lb clippie! Can't wait to catch up with everyone on Team Mickey soon!

OK, so you had a Raisinets binge, personally I don’t see the attraction, but we all have our own vices. With Aunt Flo’s visit this week’s vice has been Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. HAD to have em.

I love how everyone has different favorite foods. Raisinets are a HUGE favorite of mine and I don't really care for Reeses since it has PB in it. :rotfl:

Today's is a fun question.

Mine is the Magic and I am planning my second cruise on her for this Oct. Such a beautiful ship and great people on board. I think this is the definition of "Vacation":cloud9:

I totally agree that a cruise is a wonderful vacation. It's like the places come to you and you don't have to venture out to them! And you don't have to change hotels, pack/unpack, etc. We've only been on the Wonder and the Magic so far and I liked the Magic better. She is showing her age a tiny bit though and I would love to sail on the Dream someday. We are seriously considering a NCL Baltic cruise this Summer but have not booked yet. Disney did Baltic last Summer but not this Summer. If they would do it Summer 2012, I would wait for them!

Good Morning Team Donald.

Yes for once in a blue moon I slept until 7 this morning.

Good for you:goodvibes I rarely get up before 7:lmao:

That's how we started...with a 3 day cruise just to see if we'd like it. There are some nice Rhine River cruises over here, I'd love to do that too!!! I think they go from somehwere in France to Vienna and you see many castles along the way.

At some point in the future (probably as a DH & I only cruise) I want to go on a Mediterranean cruise.

Med cruise is the BEST! The most gorgeous blue water and beautiful ports.
Go in Summer, Med is always rough at other times of the year.
We did the Western Med and I'd love to do an Eastern Med (Greece, Turkey, etc) some day. Yes, I have a long list of cruises I want to take some day:rotfl:

We've had a quiet Saturday. DS got back home early this morning from an overnight rock climbing (indoor) outing with the Cub Scout troop he helps. I did 35 minutes hill climbing on my elliptical as soon as I woke up. DH made us bacon and eggs after he got home from his early morning hair cut. I watched a bunch of taped Oprahs and cleaned upstairs, just bedrooms and 1 bathroom up there. DS had a friend over and they worked on their Science Fair project and played COD. DH is going out tonight with our neighbor and some other men. I hope he has fun, he rarely does this. He said no at first because we had plans to watch our college play basketball on TV tonight and I encouraged him to go out instead.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Shawnprincess:

I haven't done a cruise yet so I have no idea where to even start but I would love to do the European Capitals cruise that Disney is offering.

Or do the new ship, Dream???, and try the aquaduck!

Buffy- :hug:Glad the neck is a little better, and I'm glad you're posting even though you're feeling off track. Awe I'm gonna cry!! I'm trying to hang in there. Had a gain this week but I know why so I'm going to regroup and keep moving.

WOW! Thanks for posting, really pretty. Yeah, nothing like Southern Magnolia but they smell amazing. It's my sign I know spring is coming. I hope it gets here soon!!!

4 kids isn't that hard. My parents live next door. It's easier now that all 4 are in school, DD is there 3 mornings a week so I do as much as I can then.
They do go to 3 different schools so that's tough but they time right so I just drop them off one after the other.
The times DH is home helps me get out and run away for the day.

OK off to drive my brother to a Dungeons and Dragons tournament!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!!!!

Good morning everyone!

Although getting my walks in this week has been a challenge due to illness and "life" (I missed one on Thursday), I have been on a two year journey starting January 17th and so far down 5 lbs!

Lost 3.6 this week.

The most consistent two weeks I have had in years - usually my slips lead to falls - falling completely off the rails, but I have one of the Team Arthritis trainers helping me (on line, she is in Newfoundland) and this accountability means everything.

The two year goal is:

a) Disney 5k in 2013
b) Disney 1/2 in 2013 (finally want my Donald!)
c) Maybe even a relay in the full - but that is a long shot.

I have been gunning for the Donald for a while. Nothing will convince you of how out of shape you are than a trip to Disney World and this most recent trip of mine illustrated that.

I have been into "marathoning" for a few years - started when I weighed 360 lbs.

But slow progress.

Feeling the best I have in years.

Using an I Phone application called My Net Diary - found it just like WW online except it uses calories instead of points. I have been converting my allotted WW points into calories and trying not to use the exercise points.

So far, so good.

My weight loss goals are modest - just 5 lbs a month - but if I did that for two years, it would be 120 lbs.

I am not going to be losing 5 - 6 pounds a week at times like I used to do at WW. But I feel I am on a balanced plan I can live with for life.

Not about deprivation, good foods/bad foods, eat this don't eat that for me - doesn't work.

When I first started WW, I would weigh in on a Wednesday afternoon and have a mammoth binge that ended about Sunday night when I would panic over the coming weigh in . Then I would starve and purge with laxatives until Wednesday.

Don't do that anymore. No need to binge, nothing I cannot have if I work it in.

Anyway, that's sort of where I am.

I will keep reading and responding if I can.

Take care folks.

I am glad you are all there.

Linda

Today's is a fun question.

If you have been on a cruise what is your favorite ship? If you haven't would you like to, and which ship do you want to try the most?

Mine is the Magic and I am planning my second cruise on her for this Oct. Such a beautiful ship and great people on board. I think this is the definition of "Vacation":cloud9:

Never been on a cruise. We gave it some consideration a few years ago.... we talked about doing a Disney cruise with the kids.... one of those 3park days/4 cruise days type of combos. But when I said that it would most likely mean giving up one of the Disney parks, we couldn't agree on which park to give up (plus we try to never miss SeaWorld). I figured if we weren't willing to give up park time, maybe a cruise wasn't the answer for us. I KNOW DH would like a cruise.... lots of relaxing time. But the kids and I LOVE to go-go-go at the parks!

We've talked at times about taking an Alaskan cruise too... and even saw some decent prices recently.... but the time/expense involved in getting us to BC or whereever the cruise originates from would probably be extensive. That said, I still have an Alaskan cruise on my bucket list.

Truth be told, if I won the "Disney Cruise" lottery, I'd definitely pick a Mediterrean cruise!! A trip to Europe is definitely at the very top of my bucket list~!

Morning friends! I took a peek at the scale this morning and it showed a bit of a loss over yesterday's maintain number, but I'm sticking with my Friday number..... I try NOT to play those numbers games with myself. But it was at least encouraging to see. Aunt Flo's timing is getting wanky as I get older and I am going into about week 2 of PMS, so bloating is definitely an issue right now. Hopefully by next week at this time SHE will be here and gone!

Thanks for the encouraging words about picking myself up after the Raisinets issues. It gave me some time to think.... and I will say this... Those Raisinets have been in the same spot in my fridge for probably 6 months or more. Not sure exactly WHY I finally gave in to them last Sunday. But obviously I have plenty of willpower MOST of the time. I also have Reese's PB cups and a few 3 Musketeers bars in the fridge that have also been there for several months (probably stuff I bought for a school fundraiser as candy is not a usual purchase for us). If I can resist those things that long, I guess I shouldn't worry that one run-in isn't the "beginning of the end" of my healthy lifestyle! ;)

DS's b.ball game this morning was a close one, but they won by one point. DS didn't score, but he played well and had some good hustle. But there was a Dad from the other team behind me who started complaining LOUDLY about the referring during the second half of the game. I gave him the "stink eye" a few times, but I kept my mouth shut. WHY can't parents understand what they are TEACHING their children when they act like that?? Sure, we all have times when things seem unfair (whether it is truly unfair or just a perception), but we need to be ADULT about it and show our kids how to deal with it appropriately. Yelling to the refs that their calls were "putrid" isn't exactly teaching them how to deal with life's unfairness, is it???

And honestly.... these refs probably didn't know a SINGLE CHILD from either team.... so why would they lean their calls towards one team or the other? They are there to do a job.... they aren't getting paid more by one team than the other to make "good" or "bad" calls! They call it like they see it.... PERIOD! This is middle-school age recreational league basketball... not the blooming NBA! Get some perspective people!!! Show your child/Teach your child how to be a good sport, a good person, etc, etc. LEAD BY EXAMPLE!! I was very proud of our town's parents and our kids and our coach.

(She climbs down from the soap box and bows humbly...:rotfl2:)

Okay...back to your regularly scheduled chit-chat!!

DD's swim meet for today was cancelled due to pool issues, so I will be enjoying some BONUS time at the scrapbooking table today! (Did I already mention this last night??)

Anyone have any easy, quick, light chicken breast recipes?? I know most people cook these so often, but I don't. I find breast meat dry and since DS is allergic to chicken, I don't make it very often. But I took some out of the freezer that I felt needed to be used up soon and now I'm not sure what I want to do with it. I'm thinking of doing a stir-fry with green beans, bell peppers, and spinach.... maybe serve over brown rice?? Or I might splurge and make my DMIL's swiss chicken again.... DH and DD really enjoyed it last week and I still have most of the ingredients. I could make that for them and make something else for myself, as I don't enjoy it enough for the calories. And of course, poor DS will end up with eggs or fishsticks.

Well..... scrapbooking is calling me (and it is calling LOUDER than the unfolded laundry!! :thumbsup2 ). I'll be off and on all day, so TTYL!...............P

Just popping in briefly since I'm still so sick. My resolution this week though (come monday) is to be better about coming here and posting and offering support. I've been very remiss about that. I need to get things in order here.

I'm down 1.8 this week. I'm happy with that. I've been slacking in my exercising so my WIN loss wasn't that terrific but I did lose 3" off my waist. very happy about that!

If you have been on a cruise what is your favorite ship? If you haven't would you like to, and which ship do you want to try the most?

I've never been on a cruise but I really want to. I'm currently stashing money away for one actually. Not sure what cruise line as of yet but it won't be Disney (sorry) One- it's really pricey and I want one with a casino. LOL Maybe someday we'll do Disney but we'll probably do RCCL, Norweigan or Carnival. I know Disney cruises are top notch but we do Disney so much that something different from that would be a nice change.

Go figure! This morning I weighed out of curiosity and saw 295.6 which is down .6 from last week and 1.4 from yesterday's official weigh in. :rolleyes1 Now the trick will be to maintain that and hopefully add a lb give or take a few ounces before next Friday. The weekends is why I always wanted to weigh Monday or Tuesday when I did WW. It kept me stricter with myself on the tough weekends when I'm around the house(pantry and fridge) more.

Yesterday I earned over 400 calories from exercise and I used those up on seconds last night because I was hungry and then still was so I had popcorn while my brother and I watched a couple episodes of Stargate SG1(been working through the whole series again). I wanted some the night before but knew it would mess up my calories.

Good morning everyone. I am feeling kind of lazy right now...maybe because I just got out of bed and it is 11, but I am just popping in to answer the QOTDs for the last couple of days.

QOTD yesterday--I kind of beat myself up, but I try to stay positive. I can tell how much better I feel when I am eating well and working out, so if I can focus on that, it is easier for me to get back on track. Weekends are always hard because my schedule is all messed up, but I am doing my best to focus on the good and keep at it.

QOTD today--I haven't been on a cruise, but have been dreaming about it for years. I work for an airline and I can get really good last minute discounts on cruises, so I am always tempted when I spot them for under $200. But, my BF doesn't have a passport and most of the deals I find are for less than a month out, so we haven't done one yet. I don't really even care what line or ship I would go on...if it is somewhere warm (especially this time of year), I would jump at the chance if we could swing it.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

beth
