Hi, the holiday has officially started. We are sat in the V Room after a smooth check in and bag drop. The taxi driver was funny, we live 10 minutes from the airport and we had to direct him:rolleyes1 It took us just over an hour to get from bag drop to the V Room (not bad) . Slightly embarrassing though I took my top off to go through the x ray machine and a guy behind me said"New t shirt?" I forgot to take the label off and it was hanging out:rotfl:
Well, tucking into sausage bacon and egg now, relaxing and reading the papers. well worth the money I think.
Flight is on time, and the sky is clear, so hopefully we will have plenty to see.

Have a Magical Day :thumbsup2

Sounds like a fab start to your holiday! Have a great time! :goodvibes

hope you have a fantastic time and although it's now well late .... safe travels :thumbsup2

We are here:cool1::cool1:
It was the best trans Atlantic flight i have ever been on, no turbulence at all and we arrived 40 minutes early. The IFE system is really good. I loved the fact that you could pause a film, and the touch screen was cool too. It took us about 30 minutes to get through immergration. Its a much better system now, instead of everyone forming different queues, its one long one which seemed to work better IMO. Sam from Tiffany Cars was there to meet us to take us to Royal Pacific.
We have a room over looking the pool and we can see The Hulk and Harry Potter too.
Just having snacks now in the Club Lounge and then going to hit Universal. We plan to stay up as long as possible.Dont fancy waking up at 3am

I will try and post pics. If anyone knows how to copy and paste pics from an IPad please let me know:confused:

Yay! Glad you had a great journey.

Sorry can't assist with the photos - i did my updates on an ipad but DH was technical support.

Ooooh turbulent free flight sounds AMAZING :cloud9:

I'm not a lover of flying but if no turbulence I'm completely fine and happy!

Hope you had a fab time at Universal and manage to wake up at a normal time feeling refreshed! :)

P.S. can't help with the pics either I'm afraid. I considered doing a live trip report for the first time when we go next month but have no idea how to get pics from camera to iPad!

Day 1 was, as expected an early one. Despite staying awake until 9.30 Ella had a really restless night, i think the heat and excitement finally caught up with her.So today we were awake at 4.30am and in WWOHP by 8am. It was quite busy but no wait at all to get on ride.Ella did'nt feel up to it so me and her just walked through then skipped the ride.As much as i like the shops and buildings there, Harry Potter is somewhat lost on all of us as we've never been huge fans;) but Scott and Billy enjoyed riding it. I couldn't believe the prices of some of the merchandise, $35 for a plastic wand:scared1: We will go back tomorrow as the kids want to try Butter Beer. The rest of the rides that morning where all walk ons, no wait times at all:thumbsup2
One thing i have already noticed is the poor driving skills of some people on electric scooters, one nearly took Scott out, not even stopping to say sorry. They are really dangerous :sad2:
The afternoon was spent at the Royal Pacific pool. The entertainment for the children is great, with ping pong and diving comps, they even had a dads competition,Scott winning with a beautiful belly flop, earning himself an alcoholic fruit punch:thumbsup2
We are going to eat at Pasta More at City Walk tonight, then hopefully by tomorrow we'll be more on Florida time.

I just asked Matt, he says you need a hosting/sharing site with an iPad App, Photobucket here http://photobucket.com/ipad

Hope that helps, I have no idea with iPads, I don't see the point in them. Matt is thinking about selling his iPad 2 and buying iPad 3 now, he's only had it 9 month:confused3

Would love to see some pics of RPR we are staying there in August DS is 12 and very small for his age and is a league table tennis player. He loves being the hustler so the ping pong competitions excited him when I showed him your post!

Looking forward to more updates!

Thanks for iPad info,I will get Scott to look into that.
Don't think we will be able to fit Finnegans in this time as Ella and Billy want to try Bubba Gumps and Scott loves anything to do with Jimmy Buffet, but we may be doing Raglan Road again, so that's sort of similar.

Tell your DH well done on winning the competition :thumbsup2

Sounds like you fitted lots in for the first day.

DH is never happy with technology - he is always swapping and changing - been through an ipad 1 2 3 - he even swapped his 3 for a different version of it.
