TEAM 5: HERC'S HEROES - October Miles and Hours Post Here!

I did another 30 minutes of shoveling (they were nice and gave me a mid shift).

I was ordered to get fitted and buy new shoes today. I just have this feeling that they're going to look at my stride and go "You're all screwed up, no wonder you have so many problems."

Trying to gear up for the 5k for the Fallen on Sunday and the wedding the following weekend. This 5k is one of my favorite races. Well run, good cause, and FABULOUS food at the end.

Sunday, I did the Race for the Taste with a co-worker (6.2 miles-86 minutes). It was great to share in his first race. :yay:

I've done the RFTT a few times & it's still a lot of fun. I thought the post-race tastings were better than last year...especially the Strawberry Shortcake. YUM! The only thing I didn't enjoy was the high humidity! :scared: Talk about draining your energy.
All in all it's a pretty easy run that I'd recommend doing at least once. The race coupled with the Food & Wine Festival makes for a great weekend.

I did another 90 minutes of shoveling.

I'm on vacation next week, dealing with the wedding fun and relaxing, so officially, I will not be shoveling a freaking thing. Can't wait! :cool1:

Ran a local 5 mile race for Diabetes this morning, our longest one yet.

Finished in 59:24, I had hoped for an hour or so and am happy with it! DH only beat me by 12 seconds. I also won my age division (there was only one other woman in it!) and scored a blanket to go along with my T-shirt.

One a side note Dick Hoyt was there running it with his son. He is the man who pushes his son in the wheelchair each year in the Boston Marathon. What an inspiration he is and to see him in person was just really, really cool.

I did the Manchester Footrace for the Fallen today, so I can claim 3.1 miles and 44 very cold, miserable minutes times two.

Today, when we left at 9:00ish it was 33 and breezy. Now it's 43 and breezy. I never felt warm, even though we tried to warm up and keep moving. My sciatic gave me some trouble. I was also dangerously close to finishing DL, but it's still better then not finishing at all.

Yesterday's run felt bad, everything hurt, I was cold. Just not good. I need to go get some warmer running gear, it has really turned cold here in the mornings.

Anyways, 2.8 miles/36 minutes

Going for a 5 miler with my neighbor tomorrow and hoping it is better.

Good week for me this week. I finally broke under 11:00 since my surgery and knee injury. Today I ran 4 miles with an average pace of 10:25 and for the week my average pace was 10:52. I'm very happy! :yay:

Have an awesome weekend Hercs! :goodvibes

The wedding has been a bit chaotic. But today we took an out of towner around Salem Mass. Had much fun, and logged some miles. Did about 4 miles on a fabulous fall day.

Great job team! So far I've got:

Total Time: 26:22:50
Total Dist.: 135.3 Mi

for the month!

For October thus far:
360 Miles
28:42:49

Of that I had local races of 70.3 miles, 13.5 miles, 6.2 miles, and 100 miles.

Probably won't be able to post my results for the rest of the month + Nov and Dec until after the new year but we'll see!
