Hey there, Buzz Bridgaders! Debra here, from Team Ohana. :cool2:

Just thought I'd check in with you & wish you luck with the games. A friendly suggestion--why not really adopt the "to infinity & beyond" spirit. Try and complete all your running/walking/swimming/etc. in the infinity-sign shape. Little ones, almost like you're doing tiny figure 8s. I'm SURE you wouldn't get dizzy & be unable to complete your miles/minutes. Just think of it as an extra special challenge.

And if you have to sit out for a spell & get your bearings, why, the rest of us would totally understand. :rotfl2:

Best of luck and happy, healthy training! :thumbsup2

Hi fellow Buzzers!
:welcome: New members!

I'm still going to be stuck here late at work, but I figured I could take a quick break to try and get Buzz into my signature. Here's a question for all of you tech savy people. I can get the picture into my signature, but I can't figure out how to put it next to the text that I already have (rather than above or below it). Any suggestions?

Unfortunately (for the game), tomorrow is a rest day for me, so I won't have any miles, but don't worry - I've got 9 miles on Saturday and 3-4 on Sunday.

WOW, this thread got long. I didn't even see it earlier and it is now 5 pages.

I am proud to be on this team. What a great job on the name and the logo. That is so cool.

Here is a link to the Bio I put on the main page. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1694841&page=3

Short Version: 50 years old stated running about 1 1/2 years ago. Completed my first marathon at Disney this year. Still can't believe I did it! I am signed up for the Goofy this year.

I live in Ft Myers, Florida with my beautiful patient wife and our little baby.

I have 2 grown kids, my daughter here in Ft Myers and my son and his family are in Germany.

I will put some decent mileage on in the next few weeks as I have 5 5K's and a half marathon coming up in the next month and a half. But then come April our running season is pretty much over so I'll take it easy. Probably won't go over 20 miles in any week but I'll work out every day so that will help. Come September I'll start gearing up again for the Goofy.

Now I know you guys are here I'll check back often. Although I am going to Madison WI on Friday and won't be back until Sunday evening (in time for the Super Bowl).

enjoy,
Duane

Okay.. Just got home... And I danced about a 5k tonight!! OY!! My aching body!!!

The show is CAST!!! Whoo Hoo!!!! Well.. at least the adults.. I still had to bring back the kids for another callback sunday.... I just can't bring myself to break their little hearts!!! I don't wanna do it!! I wish I could use them all.. but.. it can't be!! Don't you feel sorry for me???

Anyway.. I plan to do some thinking whilst I log in some miles tomorrow night after work...

So Team..... In the immortal words of Jackie Gleason.......

And Awwwwwaaaaayyyy We Goooooooooo!!!!

Kathy

Hey Kathy:

How do you want us to post our miles/hours? Looking at the spreadsheet that has been created, it looks like you just need weekly totals from each of us, so she we just post those once a week? Also, all the weeks end on a Friday, so I guess this first week we add miles/hours from today until next Friday and then, after that from Thursday through Friday?:confused3

(Sorry if I am making this more complicated than it needs to be, I just don't want to mess up our team's calculations.)

ETA: Just realized that there was a final instructions post. Perhaps I should have read that before posting!!

Okay.. Here is my simple take on it.

We start counting from Today through next Thursday. On Friday, at some point, you post your totals Miles/Hours from Friday to Thursday. The next week begins on Friday again. That friday counts towards the next weeks total. Got it? I only have to report Montly totals from the team. Please do NOT post daily totals... that will truly cause havoc. :scared1: :scared1:

Pat and Chris.. I think that we should ALL keep our own logs and compare notes at the end of each week to make sure our numbers add up. Chris...since you said you were a spreadsheet kind of guy... do you want to handle inputting the numbers into the log each Month?

Okay Team.. Can everyone just Check in and let us know you are Here and ready to rumble!! :cheer2: :grouphug:

I pulled this off the master list from WWDave to try and clear up the week to week (Friday through Thursday.) So some months may have a couple days from the previous month in their total. For example in April we will have a few days that were actually done in March. Clear as mud? :teacher:

I've listed the weeks through 12/31/08, but because we are logging from Friday to Friday, our months are a bit off. Most "months" are 4 weeks long; May, July, and October are 5 weeks long: December is 4 weeks plus a 5 day "week". (Just in case anyone is wondering.)

It is a little confussing, but if you post your weekly totals every Friday we will take care of the rest. :thumbsup2

Kathy I can input the numbers. As you said I love my spreadsheets. I didn't see one yet for our team, but we will need a thread to post our miles and hours.

If this helps everyone I can post this in the new thread as well. :dance3:

Alright Buzz's Brigade it's time to get moving and show all these other WISHers what we are made of. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks Chris and Kathy.
One last question. Right now, the first week on the spreadsheet says week ending 2/8/08. If we are doing Friday through Thursday, shouldn't that be week ending 2/7/08?

Yes it probably should (Because if not it's really Saturday through Friday each week after the first week.) :rolleyes1 Personally I just wish it was a montly total. However as long as at the end of year we have all days accounted for then we will be alright.

I am assuming since a week is 7 days... we should do from today to Thursday. AND since some people don't work out till evenings... then how can their Friday count????? So.. that is what we will do.. There is another thread going on now with the Captains.. we will figure it out...

I am starting a new thread for us now..... So Come on over... Here is the link

Hey Team!!! I am here and ready to rumble. In fact, I have already done m walk for the day. I won't post miles/minutes because Kathy said not to that daily. However, I've spent the past few days getting my bike out, taking off the baby seat, filling the tires, etc. I have a drug store about 1/2 mile from me. A grocery store, Wal-Mart, and office supply store about 1.5 miles and the girls' school is 2.5 miles, so I will be biking to those places instead of taking the car -- unless I have the kiddos or lots of other things to carry. I even think I may ask for saddle bags for my bike for Valentine's Day. The weather is nice here, so I want to take advantage of it. It is so hard to get out during the summer.

Anyway, have a great day team.

Oh ya.....I've already done some serious snow sweeping!! Fortunately the snow is the flight and fluffy kind, and everytime I take my golden puppy outside I am sweeping the snow off the deck. Unfortunately she loves the snow and had me out several times overnight. Poor thing is a little confused though because now the snow is so deep she can't "squat" to do her business....I've had to clear her an area in the yard! I am sure I will get more snow sweeping done after work, and I intend to hit the TM too.

To Infinity and Beyond.....
