Teach me everything I need to know for November!

The truth is, there is no way to predict the weather. That being said, being from Chicago I suspect you will find it to be much warmer than expected! We are from Milwaukee and were there the week after Thanksgiving last year. Everyone told us to bring layers. Well, we didn't use our sweatshirts or jackets once! We were in shorts and t-shirts the whole time, even at night. It stays pretty warm in the parks with all that concrete.

How funny! This just shows how variable the weather is during Nov. We were there at thanksgiving last year and not only used our sweatshirts in the am but one day never took them off it never got above 62 that day! DS wore a light fleece hat to rope drop (of course that was way before the sun was up since we were out the door by 6 am for EMH!

Been going in November for 20 years.....

The vast, vast, VAST majority of those trips, the weather was fabulous. Lows in the upper 50s and highs in the mid 70s. Chilly in the morning but glorious during the day. Rarely rains.

Last year, however, had some absolutely FREEZING days. We wore long pants many days.

Is MVMCP a must do?

For us, it was a "Must Do Once" kind of thing. It was a lot of fun but it wasn't a cheap day for four people. It's only going to get more expensive as the years go by, so if you can swing it, then I'd say do it now or else you'll be looking back in a few years saying "Why didn't we go when ticket prices were less than $100!"

Maybe you'll love it so much that you'll be a multi-time MVMCP-er!

We're also going in November, 13-20. Won't be doing MVMCP, but still need to know the dates for planning. Where are dates for MVMCP posted?

Hoping weather won't be an issue, but we're also from Chicago & used to frequent weather changes.
Can't wait to catch end of F&W as well as some Christmas decor.

This is our first November trip, too! Our semi-annual trips are usually in September/October (which I love, but I'm looking forward to something different this year). September/early October has historically been oppressively hot for us, but we still love it. Being from the Deep South, we're used to the heat and humidity, and we love MNSSHP and Food & Wine. This year, though, I'm looking forward to the Osbourne Lights, MVMCP, and still doing F&W (we'll be there Nov. 8th-17th). I also like the idea of shorter days (we love the parks at nights), shorter park hours (because we're commando-types, and this gives us more time to rest), and cooler temps. I'm super excited about November!!!
