We are going to WDW in September (10-17) :sunny: :flower: . We are planning on 1 day at Seaworld. I do not want to rent a car for 1 day - what would be the best way to get to Seaworld from All Star Sports. If it is by taxi - how easy is it to get a taxi after Seaworld closes? :flower:

I believe you can set up a Mears Shuttle pickup to Sea World. You can call from the Mears phone in the lobby of the AS Resort & set up a time for a pick-up just outside the hotel. You can also set-up a return pick-up from Sea World at that time, or they give you a number which you can call 2 hours before you want to be picked up at Sea World. I know that I've used this shuttle to get to Universal Studios & back twice. I think it's $14 per person round-trip.

I've also heard of people taking the Lynx Bus from the TTC. I think it's $1.50 each way, but I'm not sure how the schedule will fit with your plans. I think there's more unformation about Lynx somewhere in these boards. Do a search and it should come up.

Here's some instructions for the Lynx bus which were up to date for this February.

Take a bus to Epcot or MK and then a monorail to TTC.
#50 bus - Leaves the TTC at 18 & 48 after the hour. Returns from Sea World at 09 and 39 after the hour (until 9 pm)
At the TTC, the Lynx stop is located at the far end of the platform. Exiting the monorail or ferryboat, head out of the TTC towards Mk parking and bear left around the gift shop located at the corner. You will then walk straight to TTC bus parking. Stops are marked; the few Disney buses which still service the TTC are nearest. Again, the Lynx stop is to your left at the far end (but its actually very close). More than one Lynx route calls at the TTC stop, so be sure you get on the correct bus (the second will take you out U.S. 192 to Osceola Square Mall!!)
Fare is $1.25. They do accept dollar bills, however, the preferred method is five quarters. You can of course use nickels, and dimes as well. They don't take $5 bills or over.
Tell driver when you board at TTC that you want to go to SeaWorld.
Sea World is about the next stop after the TTC and the trip takes about 20 minutes. The bus route is basically I-4 from Disney (TTC) to the Sea World exit. There may be one or two Lynx bus markers after you exit I-4 but before you turn to pass in front of Sea World itself, but the correct stop will be pretty obvious.
Then walk across the Sea World parking lot!!
For the bus home - cross over and pick up the bus on the OTHER SIDE of the street (on the other corner - Renassaince Hotel driveway is right next to the stop). There should be a sign with Lynx paw prints on it.

Sounds a hassle, but it's actually quite easy. We managed it fine with two young children. It's certainly a lot cheaper!

Nothing to say, just posting so i can find this thread again later :earseek:

Thanks for the info. It definately sounds cheaper to use the Lynx bus. What time does it run until?

How about a taxi? Any idea the price on that? And waht do you do with children if you have no car seats?

How much is the Mears bus?

Not sure what to do i figure the more info i have the better.

Thanks

The Lynx bus definitely returns from SeaWorld at 8.39 pm, but I'm not sure if there is one at 9.09 pm or after. You can pick up a timetable from the bus, or even ask on the Transportation board.

Mears is $14 per person for the round trip.

No idea how much a taxi would be. But if I think you can ask if they can send one with car seats when you order it.
