or so with this hurricane coming on sat or sun ,would anyone know if they would cancel flights out of gatwick as we are flying out sunday dinner 12*55 with tcd

any info would be great

I'm afraid I can't help Richtom but I was wondering too about buses/taxis from ASMo to International Drive attractions - I suppose as you are in Coventry too you must have been close enough to read my mind!

With regard to the flight out I suppose it depends on how bad the hurricane is and what areas are affected. Probably best to check your flight is OK before you leave home - I think they have flight info on teletext?

Hope you have a great time

First of all, the only one of the attractions you mentioned actually located on I Drive is Discovery Cove.

Lake Buena Vista is, umm, pretty much WDW, Universal Studio's and IOA is about a mile or so off of I-Drive.

You can catch the Lynx bus to Discovery cove - this runs twice an hour I think from the Transportation and Ticket Centre (www.go-lynx.com), however, there are no Disney buses to take you direct to the TTC from the All Stars, you'd need to go to Magic Kingdom or EPCOT and then take the monorail to TTC.

On the bright side, the Lynx only costs $1 a person and is pretty quick because the bus only has about 2 stops, the rest is all up the I-4!

Not sure what you want to see at LBV - the outlets maybe? In which case you'd have to hop in a taxi - it's about $10 each way I think.

For Univ/IOA you can take a Mears transfer, but if there's more than 3 or 4 of you going then it would be cheaper (and more convenient) to take a taxi or towncar. It would run about $35-$40 each way - it's quite a trek!

With regards to the flights - if Frances were to hit Orlando head on like Charley did then the answer is yes, they may cancel some flights. Orlando airport was shut due to hurricane Charley, plus it suffered some storm damage which meant it couldn't immediately re-open either. Needless to say you can only take off if you've got somewhere to land! I know a couple of flights were diverted on the day, and others were cancelled for at least the day after.

Now...before you panic, the weekend is an absolute eon away in the lifetime of a hurricane, the thing can go anywhere and change direction in the matter of hours, let alone days, plus it could even weaken of it's own accord.

I would just watch the Hurricane Advisory Service warnings to see how it develops then contact TCD on Friday if it looks like it's going to be a serious threat to your trip - the travel companies won't be thinking of actioning any contingency plans prior to around 48 hours notice anyway.
