Taxi from POP to nearest WalMart/SuperTarget?

Hey folks,

My wife and I will be at POP in early July. Does anyone have an estimate on how much it would cost to take a taxi from POP to the nearest SuperTarget or Wal-Mart? We won't be renting a car, but would like to make a quick grocery/supply run on our first day (using Magical Express, which won't allow for a stop on the way from the airport to the resort).

I don't know how much it costs but it probably would be cheaper to rent a car for the day. You could rent it from the Car Care Center near MK.

I paid 7.50 round trip from DTD to Goodings 1 mile away. I would suggest renting a car from car care of Alamo has a location at the SWAN/Dolphin They have great special going online now.

I don't have a price for you, but I remember when we went one time we called the local taxi company and they were able to give us an estimate price.

I have to agree with the suggestions of renting a car for the day. You can rent from either the Dolphin or the Car Care Center near the Magic Kingdom.

Thanks for the replies so far... for various reasons, we won't have the option of renting a car available to us, which is why we're asking about fare prices. If anyone else can still help with info... thanks!

You can get a grocery delivery. I used Gooding's (www.goodings.com), a local supermarket that also delivers, and I was very pleased and completely satisfied. In addition, many DISers report good experiences with two stand-alone delivery services that will shop wherever you ask them to: www.wegoshop.com and www.gardengrocer.com.

I don't know first-hand about the others, but with Gooding's you don't have to schedule your delivery. They deliver to the resort staff, and then the resort delivers to you. So if you're not in, the resort will hold your delivery for you, and even keep your cold stuff cold (Gooding's separately bags and labels the cold stuff). Also, Gooding's website lists only a limited selection, but they will deliver anything they stock on their shelves EXCEPT ALCOHOL. Wegoshop and Garden Grocer WILL deliver alcohol.

I've been pricing out renting a car for a couple of days I wanted to use the magical express and rent from either car care center or the dolphin and the prices are crazy..even with the all discount codes...

but, it was MORE than double to rent from those locations as it was for 8 days from MCO. Anyone else running into this for sept?

I just looked up a taxi company as listed on mousesavers website..

(407) 699-9999 I called to inquire about fare price from PoP to SuperWalmart on RT 535. She said the approximate cost is $20 each way. (plus if you are going to tip, ?15%). Should you decide you want them to wait it is .44cents per minute.
