Has anyone taken a taxi from the Poly to the outlet mall? How much can I expect to pay? My DH and DS will be playing golf and I would like to do a little shopping. Any ideas? :cool1:

What outlet are you planning to visit? Is it near or far from the edge of WDW?

It would be cheaper to rent a car for the day from the car care center. You would also be able to hit multiple places in one day and have a place to stow packages while shopping.

I would like to go to the Orlando Premium Outlets just off of I-4. I only plan on spending a few hours.
Do the cabs charge a per person fee as well a per mile?

You didn't mention if you'd have a car that DH is using. Disney will transport DH and son to the golf course which would free up the car for you.

No, we won't have a car. The guys will be using the transportation provided by the resort. I checked into taxi fares. It will cost $15.00 -$20.00 each way. It looks like car rental will run $40.00 for a day. Any other ideas? Do any of the malls provide shuttle service?

If you're going to the mall close to Downtown Disney, you could save a few bucks by taking the bus to DD and then catch a cab from there.

Lake Buena Vista Outlets provide a free shuttle bus. You would need to get to DTD and walk to one of the participating hotels in the area. There is a list of them along with pick up and drop off times on their website. I did email them to see if you actually have to be staying at one of those hotels, but they never got back to me.

Your other option is to get to DTD Westside and take a cab (I think it's parking lot G). Your quote looks about right. It cost us about $35 including tips for the round trip. You pay for the cab not for per person. There is a flat rate to start and then it is charged per mile and time. Try avoid peak times because of traffic. We did great going to PO but hit afternoon traffic on the way home and while it only cost around $11 before tip to get there, it cost about $15 coming back.
