Taxi for breakfast?

We are staying at AllStarMov. in Sept and thinking about doing Crystal Palace breakfast our first morning there. I'm going to try to get an as earlier as possible on the ressies (which hoping I can b/c I'm still not to my 180 days and I will doing it first thing in the morning on that day!) If I get a time of 8am can I take the bus if the park doesn't open till 9am? Or would it just make more since to get a taxi that one time to the park so I don't have to wait on the bus to take us?

If I get a taxi, how do I do that? Also any ideas on the cost from there to MK?

Bus service to the MK begins around 6:15am to 6:30am from all Disney resorts to get guests to early breakfasts. The buses do not run very often at that time so allow around one hour in case you just miss a bus.

You cannot take a taxi to the MK entrance. Only Disney buses are allowed near the entrance. The taxi would have to drop you off at either the TTC or the Contemporary Resort. From the TTC you would need to either monorail or boat over to the MK. From the Contemporary you can take the ten minute or so walk to the MK entrance.

Ok thank you for the quick response!! Which would be faster the TTC or Contemporary and walking? Also do you have an idea on taxi costs? It might be worth the extra sleep time in the morning

Me too!!! First time to the world we are staying at POR and looking at going by taxi to our morning ADR's. If not all of them, definately Crystal Palace

I don't know how much a taxi would cost. I'm sure others will come in with numbers for you.

It would definitely be faster to take a taxi to the Contemporary and take the short walk to the MK entrance. From the TTC you would have to wait for either the boat or the monorail unless you are really lucky and one or both of them are there when you arrive.

At the TTC you would also be with the outside crowds of people staying off Disney property. From the Contemporary you will likely be the only ones walking early in the morning to the MK. It's a nice walk if the weather is nice. The walk takes you directly under the monorail.

The cost for a taxi to the Contemporary is about $20.00

I would definitely take a taxi in the morning. While bus transportation is free, taking a taxi means you have far less to worry about.

From the lobby of ASMU, taxi fare should be approx $18-$20 plus tip, and take about 10-15 minutes. If there is not a cab there have bell services call one for you.
Tell the driver to drop you at the guard shack at the Contemporary Resort, it's a short walk from there to the MK entrance, perhaps 5-8 minutes. And then another 5 minutes to Crystal Palace.

Enjoy your breakfast however you get there.

I have never rode in a cab before... How much do you tip?

Are there normally cabs waiting at the lobby for people and if we had to have one called does it take long for one to show up?

Oh and is it a big deal with having two littler ones. 4 and 2 without booster seats for them to sit in in the cab?

We've had good luck just using Disney Transportation, bus from resort. Actually the last time we had to wait because The Crystal Palace staff weren't ready. We've done this several times with no problems, enjoy your trip.
