Tax refunds

We "filed" before the 30th through TurboTax and received our refund today. :)

we filed Jan 31st....and it still says it's processing. Hopefully it will get updated soon.

Ours still says received. :/ Everyone that I have seen who also filed the 27th has already either received their refund or they at least have a deposit date. I wouldn't be so concerned if that wasn't the case. I am starting to get concerned that something may be wrong. It was accepted the 28th and hasn't updated since.

I filed ours this morning with Taxact dot com and got a confirmation text within 5 mins saying that the IRS had accepted it.

I'm not sure when we're get the direct deposit.

I am in the same boat...my Federal was filed on the 27th and accepted on the 28th with no update...my state was accepted on the 30th and is scheduled to be deposited on the 7th...:confused3

We filed a few days before the 30th but ours are being held because of the "new education credits" so I am sure we won't see our refund for weeks and weeks and weeks....

We got a 1098T for DD but we don't get any credits because her scholarships were more than the cost of tuition (only because they put the Jan-May semester on last year's 1098T)

Anyone know if all returns with a 1098T will be delayed even if there's no credit on taxes?

I hear ya. Add in our DD moving and hurts as she is no longer a dependant. You're getting enought to cover property taxes!?!?!??!:worship::worship::worship: If your taxes are like ours, that is a nice amount to get.

It is a good amount but between the switch in the payroll company at DH's work taking out less money and not getting the $2,500 in credits, I was a little disappointed. I had hoped to use that extra to pay a chunk on the Parent Plus loan I took out for DD#2.

We stopped claiming DD#1 a few years ago. 2012 will be our last year for DD#2 and we lost the child credit for DD#3 a few years ago. Even though she's 18yo, we still have a lot of expenses because she's completely disabled but we don't get the credits because of her age.

I hate you are in the same boat, but I feel a *little* bit better knowing its not just us. I just don't know what the hold up could be. We had a very simple return with only one W2 and didn't qualify for any of the credits that are delayed until mid February. :(

I've checked TurboTax 3 times this morning and my return is still pending acceptance. C'mon! This is driving me nuts!

I know! I didn't have any of the credits that are delayed and ours was a straight up one W-2 so I really don't know what is going on :worried:

Oooh, we did have a 1098-t form. Maybe that's it? But we didn't qualify for the credit. I think the only delays were if you qualified for the education credit.

Wow! How the heck do all of you file so fast?? lol

I'm still waiting on a couple of tax documents so it's impossible for me to file before mid-February at the EARLIEST.

W2s- were all received by January 25th. 1098s were online. Mortgage interest statements online. Law requires them all to be postmarked by the 31st. It depends on your mail service and the distance they have to travel if any of your tax documents are paper. Some companies choose to wait to the last minute to release documents and are not released before the 31st of January but documents could be released January 1st.

No real exciting stuff to wait for:
Dh W-2 was able to get online Jan 15th.
My w-2's 3 were handed to me with paycheck stub, 1 was mailed fairly quick and I could prob have pulled from online, one seemed like took forever to get to me.
Stock/div. we had before end of yr ( usually what I'm waiting on)
I put stuff in as it was received so had taxes done in an hour.

We got all of our stuff early too. Nothing too complicated. We did get married last year, so it changed our filing status. Other than that we are pretty standard - 3 w-2's, one rental property, one house, student loans. I was more worried about the state and that one has been accepted. Not sure what is taking federal so long, but the longer it takes the more worried I get.

Must be nice to file so early. We have to wait for the forms from our brokerages and brokerages get until Feb. 15th to send out their forms. They take every bit of that time, too.

Then again, I guess I'll take my investment accounts over a super early refund.

I checked the day after we filed and it said 21 days. I went back today and it says I must have entered my information wrong as they have no info?? is that a bad sign
