Erica got her first tattoo last year when she turned fifty. A little dolphin on the small of her back. She is thinking about getting the Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Flying Pig on her ankle connected by a ribbon.

Does anyone else have a tattoo to commerate your achievements?

I'm thinking of getting a goofy on my ankle. Kinda fits my personality to.

I told myself I was going to get a tattoo after my first full marathon. It's been over 4 months and no tattoo yet! I want to get the Track and Field symbol--running shoes with wings on the top of my foot. But I really like the idea of a Flying Pig too!!

If someone knew a good place close to DisneyWorld, a few of us who wanted to could get them done at the ToT weekend. Any one interested in taking the plunge?

You guys are crazier than I thought. No tattoo's for me. Never had one never will. A least with a piercing you can take it out when you turn 80 :) Unfortunately the tattoo just gets older with you.

but if it is for you, enjoy!

If I were to ever complete a full ironman, I've told Krista that I would definitely get an "M-dot" tattoo.

That's the only one I would ever get. Of course, I'll probably be 85 by the time I'm ready for that kind of race, so I wouldn't have to worry about it being around too long. :)

Only if it were henna. I can't bring myself to the permanent variety.

I just had to say that Erica's idea sounded really really cute!

I thought so to. I think a small tattoo on her ankle would be very nice. I wouldn't want her to look like a biker chick but a tattoo that means something like that would be fine.

She quit a 30 year smoking habit 4 years ago so the marathon walking is extra special to both of us. I also quit smoking 5 years ago after a 35 year habit, so I know how much willpower it took.

I have two tattoos, and DW also has two. No regrets for either of us. We've each thought of going for No. 3, but we know that if we did a No. 3, that would be the last, and I haven't found one worthy of being "my last".
If a tattoo is something you want to do, my advise is to pick something that will have meaning for you not just now, but forever. If the mickey, goofy and/or flying pig, and what they represent in your life fits that bill, then I'm sure you'll be happy with your decision.

Sounds like a great idea.

I have 2 tattoos and DH has 1. One of mine is a tinkerbell that I love.

If by some miracle I medaled in the National Senior Olympics, I might get the olympic symbol on my ankle instead of the goofy.

Hi-

I always wanted a tattoo. Finally found a celtic round knot & decided to have it done on my shoulder so I could easily cover at work. I waited a year before getting it & selecting an artist. It was a symbol for me that everything is connected and I need to take care of myself as part of the universe. I've had it now for almost 15 years & never regretted it.

oh i have to quote you to my DD in High school. she is on a tattoo kick right now and that is exactly what i told her. and i don't even have one!

i have often thought of a disney tattoo, i guess after 8 years i have accepted my disneymania. i just can't seem to settle on a character i would love forever......

I told myself I was going to get a small black Mickey head with 26.2 written in white inside the head. Never did it . . . probably won't. Still thinking about it.
