Tastykakes..

Um. Ew. I never really liked their butterscotch krimpets (although for some reason, that's what my mom always put in my lunch...hmmm).

OMG, those are my FAVORITE! They don't sell them in the grocery stores here in Oregon. :sad2:

My mom is from Maryland. Everytime she or my grandparents went back for a visit, they would bring back an entire suitcase filled with the butterscotch krimpets.......and jars of pickled onions!

I LOVE the Tastykake Chocolate Juniors - the ones with chocolate icing on a small 2-layer vanilla cake. Very simple snack, which is why I love them! It's not too sweet and it has no "extras" all over them - no nuts, no coconut shavings, no peanut butter, no sweet cream filing, no artifical sweetners like Splenda or something. I can't tell you how hard it is to find a plain chocolate/vanilla cake snack made with real sugar!!! :confused3 The Tastykake Juniors is the only one I can find.

That being said, I can't find them right now. :sad1: I haven't been able to find them in over a month, and I keep checking multiple grocery stores. Nothing. And you can't stock up on them too much since they do mold after a month or so. I hope they get restocked soon. It seems they come in waves - either every store has them, or no one does.

I miss my Juniors. :(

great now I want WaWa coffee and a tastykake. OHhhh help me.:thumbsup2 I don't know about the pancake krimpet. I'd rather have a coconut junior or a tandykake. :thumbsup2

The pancake tastykakes are gross, they are horribly sweet. I'll stick with the butterscotch thank you. Coconut juniors are okay as well, with a nice cup of hazelnut coffee with french vanilla creamer........ Okay off to the Wawa in the morning :)

My dd11 LOVES LOVES LOVES them. She eats no snack foods to speak of, but will eat one a night, when I can find them.

I'm so with you about the scarcity of the chocolate juniors. What's with that? Once in a while I'll find them down here (lots of the rest, but not the juniors). Last time we went to see family (SE PA, DE) I had to go to multiple stores to find them!

(I'm planning to order a case for dd for her bd next month. Don't tell! They do freeze well. Yes, I freeze my tastykakes.)

Butterscotch Krimpets are classic. And the Chocolate Juniors are my fave.

Darn, now I'm craving a Krimpet and a Junior.

These just look delish! :worship: I have a thing with Maple Syrup. I am just like Buddy in the movie Elf, everything tastes better with maple syrup. I am going to have to go buy these tomorrow! :woohoo:

Yummy maple syrup.

well I hope you all are happy, I'm eating a Tastykake coffee cake right now. I've been down with the flu the last couple of days and this sounded bland enough to make it past the plumbing ok:rotfl:

Just one? I'm proud to say that, last night, I polished off a lemon pie and half a peach pie (Dh was kind enough to assist me with the peach pie).

MMMMMM.....TASTYKAKES

YAYYYYY......WAWA

Its a Tastykake.. it has to be good.

I got my first tag from the thread with them piled all over the table...

I actually like Krimpets as a change from peanut butter Tandy Takes. I tried the pancake ones and they were not that great. I didn't realize they had creme in them and they were very sweet.
WAWA is a convenience store that is always open and sells everything from bread and milk to deli items and batteries and stuff like that. I love their soups.

You mean the Kandy Kakes(sp?) I actually miss those after ODing on them as a child cause my mom stuck those in my lunch everyday.

As for the Pancake Krimpets, I have not even seen those. Here in the land HA!! we do have WAWA but a highly limited selection of Tasty Kakes. So basically i live in the land of H E double hockey sticks when it comes to Philly yummies.

So if anybody wants to send me some.......I'll take em. :rotfl:

Oh shut up. Do you know how difficult it is get those Lemon pies around here? Its like an automatic sellout if WAWA even gets em in.

Alright, I'm now officially in Tastykake withdrawl.

I had never heard of a "Tastycake" before (nor a "Wawa"!) but now I feel horribly deprived. Those all sound yummy!! Meanies, hogging all the treats. :p

It's so funny, I just finished eating a pack of Lemon Cupcakes and come on here to find two threads about Tasty Cakes. My DM usually buys the Jelly Krimpets and occasionally the Chocolate Cupcakes.

Yeah, we're jonesing tonight. And I'm now bummed that I have no Juniors down here. What is wrong with the world:rotfl:

Okay, this is too funny! Earlier in this thread, I mentioned how I once had a tag about my love of cupcakes and how I've been known to OD on them, especially Tastykakes and Hostess.

Well, in the ads at the bottom of this page (under related threads) is the thread I started way back in November of '05. It's the one with the title "What is your favorite dessert and how much of it have you eaten at one time?":rotfl:

I told you I love cupcakes!:lmao:

I just took the last bite of a Butterscotch Krimpet.
I love the mello tandy kakes not the peanut butter ones but ahve not seen them in ages. I also love the Lemon and Blueberry pies, but the cost is outragous now.

But WAWA has another favorite, Philly SOft Pretzles! :thumbsup2

Any one have Middlesworth chips? My fav is the BBQ ones!

But no I did not have the Pancake Tasties....
di

I have never been a fan of Krimpets. I mean, I'll eat them if I have to.:thumbsup2 But, I would rather have a Peanut Butter Kandy Kake or Chocolate Kandy Kake or Cream Filled Koffee Kake or Cream Filled Buttercream Cupcake or Tasty Klair Pie or Lemon Pie or French Apple Pie or a Banana Kreamie. Hmmm. I need to add some things to my shopping list for tomorrow.
