Tasha's Journal (UPDATE: Our baby has arrived! Pics on last page!!)

We miss you Tasha! It's been nice seeing your posts here...help keep us on track..and add your words of wisdom. :goodvibes

Kylie will be here before you know it! I'm still so excited for you...and it will be much nicer having that financial stress off of your back. Keep us updated! Take care of yourself, especially in this last trimester!

Gail

Hi Tasha! I'm new around here, but i just wanted to add my congrats on your baby!!! :flower: It was so neat to read your posts and remember back to my pregnancy and little one's birth - he will be 21 months next week. I wish you all the best. Being a SAHM has been such a blessing!!!! :cloud9: I can't wait for more updates from you!

Take care -
Lynnda

Hey everyone! Hi, Lynnda! Thanks for visiting my journal! You can be one of the honorary cyber aunts if you'd like! ;) I have really enjoyed keeping this journal even while I am preg. I can't wait until I can report about losing weight instead of gaining though...lol! Anyway, I went to my doctor's appt. today and she said everything looks really good with my health. However, I did gain another 7 lbs. since my last appt. That brings my total gain up to 16 lbs. now! :earseek: I asked the NP what I could do to keep me from gaining too much, too fast. She gave me several suggestions but told me that walking and getting more exercise in would be my best bet. She said that since I am in pretty good health, overall, and my iron pills have helped give me some of my energy back that exercise should help me and not hurt me or the baby, even though I am now in my 3rd trimester. So, I joined the Feb. exercise challenge thread. I am only setting a 400 min. of exercise goal since there is only 3 weeks left in Feb. and I don't want to overdo it while preg. I am either going to break the treadmill back out (which I am actually very excited about! ) or have Scott start walking with me in the evenings. Perhaps I'll alternate between both. Anyway, that is all I have to report. The baby is measuring normally and is doing well. And other than gaining too much weight, too fast lately, I am in pretty good health as well. I start going to my doctor's appt. every 2 weeks now. My next appt. is on Feb. 21. Wish me luck with my exercise goal. Now I will actually have a reason to post more in my journal. ;) :teeth:

Yea Tasha!!! I would love to be one of the cyber aunts!!! :rotfl: I'm so glad your appt went well. And great job on the exercise goal! Walking in the third trimester really wasn't that bad for me - just be sure to keep your feet up as much as possible after the walk. It sounds like you are doing everything perfectly! :flower: I look forward to more of your journal entries! :teeth:

Hi Tasha. I'm finally checking the WISH board again. Glad to hear everything's going well with your pregnancy.

Kylie Noel is such a pretty name!

Hi, Rae Ann! I was so excited to see you back on WISH! I was afraid one of the most important cyber aunts (you, of course!) would miss the birth. I am glad to see you are still here. I have not read your journal yet, but will soon.

Well, it has been an interesting week is all I can say. Dh had to have his toenail removed on Wed. He had half of it removed about a year ago and it grew back ingrown and infected once more. So this time he had the whole nail removed. He said they gave him 12 shots in his toe to try to numb it but it was so infected that the medicine wouldn't work and the dr. said there was nothing else he could do but take the toenail off. So he felt every bit of it when the toenail was yanked off. He has not been back to work since Tues. b/c he has had some pain (the infection has not gone all the way down yet!) and it hurts for him to walk on it. It has been nice having him home but he is such a baby when he hurts. I have literally been waiting on him hand and foot. Kylie has liked having him home too, I think. She has been kicking more when she hears his voice and it is too cute and funny. Dh is loving that! He is already extremely attached to her and I suspect she will be a daddy's girl as well. Since I had a lousy father, it makes me extremely happy to know that Kylie will experience a good relationship with her own father. What can I say? I have good taste and picked the right man to spend my life with and have a family with. Hey, it's almost Valentine's Day...I am entitled to be a little sappy. ;)

Anyway, I have been having round ligament pain on and off since I was about 24 weeks along, but the past day and a half has been worse. Dh and I look so funny when we walk. He limps b/c of his toe and I waddle b/c of the ligament pain I have had. Makes for an interesting sight! :rotfl: But anyway, I have not done much exercising and am beginning to realize that at this point in my preg. that I will be lucky if I even can. I have trouble even bending down anymore. I truly feel preg. now! But that's okay. I checked with others and was told that a 16 lb gain by almost 7 months is not bad at all...it is actually pretty good. The NP seemed more concerned that I gained 7 lbs so quickly than in my overall gain so I think maybe I made a big deal out of it for nothing. I have decided not to worry about it too much. She told me my health was excellent at the last appt. so I must be doing something right. On top of that, I calculated how much I will have gained overall if I continue to gain 7 lbs. every 4 weeks for the remainder of this preg. and my overall gain still would probably only come to about 35 lbs which is a normal gain so I am not stressing about it anymore. Besides, I truly think Kylie will be born a little early...probably sometime in April, hopefully no sooner than that. So, I may not even get to the full 35 lb gain. But anyway, other than that, I have turned into a monster. I can't resist buying baby clothes! Somebody stop me! :teeth:

Okay, I finally put some pics of me on the Internet. I still am not sure how to post a pic on here yet and don't feel like figuring it out right now b/c I am having a severe case of preg. brain...I am lucky if I remember my own name these days! So anyway, for those of you who have been wondering what I look like here is a link of Dh and me.

Okay, let's see if this works. Three of the pics are of Dh and me on our wedding day 11/27/99. The one where I am wearing red is the most recent photo we had taken sometime in Oct. 2002. Sorry, but those are the most recent photos I have right now. Of course I am "bigger" now, but I hope that will change soon after Kylie is born. ;)

Oh Tasha...what a cute couple!! :goodvibes But you don't look like what I pictured! :teeth:

I saw some exercise videos for pregnant women....hey...maybe Rae Ann has some in her extensive video collection :earseek: You might want to check those out as well as the walking!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Gail

P.S. Am I a cyber aunt too??

Hi Tasha!

I agree with Gail... you and Scott are a cute couple! I bet Kylie is going to be cute as a button! princess:

Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Aw, Gail and Tracy, you are both so sweet. I am blushing, can you see it? Anyway, of course you are also a cyber aunt, Gail! You are one of the originals. You, Michelle, Tracy, Rae Ann, and Kels (who has sadly gone MIA lately :guilty: ) are the originals since you have been with me from the very beginning. Those who have just found my journal are the newest cyber aunts. I won't exclude anybody. I'll need all of the cyber aunts I can get.

Well, this weekend Scott and I did a lot of walking even though it was browsing in stores. Our Olive Garden finally opened up about a week ago. Scott and I went and put our names on the waiting list, was told we would have a table in an hour and a half (although that seemed way too good to be true!) and we went and looked at several stores for baby clothes, etc. Sadly, I didn't buy anything, but maybe that is a good thing...for our checking account anyway! Well, we decided to go buy our tickets for Hitch early (dinner and a movie was how we were planning to spend Valentine's Day) so it wouldn't be sold out. We got back to Olive Garden about 10 min. before our table was "supposed" to be ready, only to be told it would be another 15 min. Fine, we could live with that. I was starting to have terrible ligament pain by this point and the place was packed and there was no where to sit. I figured I could stand for 15 more minutes though. Well, after 25 min. of agony (I was in sooo much pain by this point) Scott asked the girl again when our table would be ready. She said it would be another 30 min.! So, I told Scott that if I didn't sit soon we were going to have to leave. Well, someone got up off of one of the couches in the lobby and I headed over to sit down. This woman behind me saw me heading for it and literally pushed me out of the way and gave me a look right before she sat down. Scott had to grab me so I wouldn't say something and cause a scene. I am not fun when I am really hungry and in pain and that woman ALMOST saw my bad side! Anyway, the woman that pushed me got up a couple of min. later b/c her table was ready and Scott told me to hurry and sit down. Well, another woman started to sit there but saw me and was very nice. She said, "Oh, it looks like you probably need to sit more than I do." And she let me have the seat. (In case I haven't mentioned it, I am REALLY showing now!) Ahhh, sweet relief. Well, 40 min. later we still had not been called for a table. It was getting late by this point and our 1 1/2 hour wait was quickly becoming 3 hours. I told Dh that even if they called us we would not have time to order, eat, and still make it to the movie on time. We had 30 min. left before the movie started (at 10:10 p.m.) and we had already paid for the tickets. So, we had them take our name off the list and ended up eating at Wendy's! But we made the best of it, and Dh has promised to take me to Olive Garden for my b-day in 2 weeks. We will just go a little earlier so we won't have to wait quite as long...hopefully! I swear, it seems some higher power does not want me to eat at Olive Garden! When we drove to Memphis several months ago we found out that the Olive Garden had been closed down, so I didn't get it then either! I am hoping for better results on my b-day!

Phew, now I am out of breath! Anyway, I ended up getting 60 min. of walking in that night. I also walked about 20 min. on Fri. night and Sun. night, so I have walked a total of 100 min...which isn't bad considering all of the ligament pain I have had. Well, I guess that's it for now!

well i am thinking ill just have to be a cyber aunt too :) every time i see a post from you, i think how much i LOVE that name, kylie noel..
olive garden is soo good, but the waits are horrible, i hope you get to go for your bday soon..
have a great weekend!!

Hi, Jen! Of course I need you as a cyber aunt too. I am not much older than you so I need another "youngster" to help with advice, etc. ;)

Well, I spent Friday with my mom and did a lot of walking and shopping. Made my new exercise stats 200/400. Doesn't look like I will make the full 400 min., but I am proud with how much I have managed all together anyway.

Well, we decided to celebrate my b-day a week early and went to Olive Garden this Sat. instead of next Sat. We got there a little earlier than we did the weekend before and put our name on the list. We were once again told an hour and a half. It looked like it would be a long wait but it wasn't quite as crowded as it was the week before. It did get pretty crowded after we had been waiting a while. Like I said we got there early. I was wanting to leave and go look in some of the local stores again b/c there was nowhere to sit and my ligament pain starts acting up if I just stand for hours. It hasn't been that bad the last few days except when I have to stand still for long periods of time. Well, Scott kind of made me mad b/c he was so paranoid that we would lose our table if we left. Don't know why...it was packed. So we ended up standing inside. I was getting cranky b/c I was starting to hurt again. Finally, after standing for an hour, a couch became available and we sat down. I was fine after that. Then they called us (only took an hour and 45 min. this time) and we headed with the hostess to our table. I noticed right away that she was going to seat us in a bar section...right next to a smoking couple. I told her that I couldn't sit there, that the smoking bothered me. FYI, we requested a NON-smoking section, but they put us down as smoking. I can't wait until the day that smoking is banned inside ALL restaurants in every state, but unfortunately MS will probably be one of the last states to do this. Anyway, she took one look at my belly and said, "Oh...yeah, I can see that smoking would be a problem." (I didn't bother to tell her that smoking would be a problem for me whether I was preg. or not...whatever worked was fine with me!) She was very nice about it and was able to get us a table in the non-smoking section in under 5 min. They were extremely busy and understaffed but I think our waitress still did a great job. The food was good, better than the one in Memphis we used to go to. Of course it is still new, that could change. Anyway, all in all it was a nice meal and a nice night.

Unfortunately, Sunday did not go as well. Well, it did most of the day until around 6 p.m. Dh decided to run to Walmart for something only to discover that the sensor on our truck's transmission was not working. We have another vehicle but it needs a new battery so it is not driveable at the moment and it is pretty old. We use a mechanic that works at a day job and then works on the side out of his own garage. He is a really great mechanic...I can't complain much. The only problem is that he is so good that everybody goes to him and he gets backed up. Well, my dr.'s appt. was scheduled for tomorrow morning. He won't have it fixed for at least a week probably. I tried to get a ride, but there isn't anyone that can take me. My mom said she can take me on one of her day's off from work, so I am going to have to reschedule my dr.'s appt. for another day. I don't think it is really a big deal. I didn't have anything major going on at this appt. anyway. They will only listen to baby's heartbeat, take blood pressure, weight gain, etc. I am going every 2 weeks now anyway, and the baby is so active that I have no reason to worry that anything is wrong. So, even if they can't reschedule for 2 weeks, no big deal. Main thing is we were not expecting to have to pay a mechanic. We can manage, but man, I hate paying for unexpected expenses! But then, who doesn't?! So anyway, that has been my weekend. I keep on going and it won't get me down. Optimism is so much more appealing that pessimism, don't you think!?

hi tasha--im sorry about your car--you are right, those unexpected expenses are always the worst..
glad olive garden was good--it is one of my favorite restaurant..i LOVE the breadsicks

YES! i cant wait to be the cyber aunt--i love having someone close to my age ! :) dont foget to get pcitures on here after kylie is born! have a great night

Hey Tasha...so glad you finally got to eat at Olive Garden. Those are rediculous wait times though! How rude of the one lady to push you and take the seat last week! Sorry about the unexpected repairs too.

Things are rolling right along for your pregnancy...Kylie will be here before you know it!

Oh yeah...Kels is back!!!

Take care...you guys probably need to try OG on a weeknight...or hit there during the day.

Gail

Yay! Kels is back! I will have to look for her. Anyway, we did consider eating at OG during the week or during the day, but it just doesn't work out for us. Scott works long hours from the months of Nov.-Mar. and doesn't get home early (usually) enough to go on the weekdays. As far as going earlier on the weekends, he has been on-call, and has been gone a lot during the days. But once things settle down with his job that is what we would probably end up doing.

I rescheduled my appt. for next Mon., the 28th. If our truck if fixed and everything works out, then that is going to be a very busy day for me. First, it is my b-day...not that that means it'll be busy since we have already celebrated anyway. Then, I have my dr.'s appt. Then, we have a childbirth class that night. Cross your fingers that the truck will be fixed by then. I know Danny (our mech.) has a lot of other vehicles but the sensor usually only takes him about 30 min. to an hour to fix (we had another one go out a couple of years ago) and Scott told him how badly we need it fixed since I am preg. and all. I am hoping he will get to it quicker b/c of that. Anyway, thanks everyone for all of your kind words in my journal. Hmmm...the cyber aunts seem to be better aunts than the real life aunt. The real life aunt is Scott's sister and that is a completely different story! ;)

Tasha ~ Cute couple. Nice to finally put a face to the name. Glad things are going well for you.

Hey there. Loved your pictures as well. I agree that the novelty will wear off for OG and you will be able to get seated sooner in the future. You are a very patient person as I would have a cow to wait almost 3 hours! Hope you have a happy Sunday.
