Tasers in the World?

I'm just amazed that gun right advocates haven't started a campaign on Disney like they do every other place you have no business with a gun.

I love Disney, I don't see any difference between it and many other places I consider fairly safe. The "magic" isn't real and there's no reason to think just because you're in the Magic Kingdom the guy standing next to you is any more sane and reasonable than the one at the mall or your favorite restaurant.

That said, I can't believe this was a serious question. Clearly Disney has a no weapons policy ( good for them!!!) and any reasonably intelligent adult knows what would be considered a weapon.

Disney doesn't say anything about non-lethal weapons. A taser is a weapon. It's really very simple.

And yes people have died from having a taser used on them.

People have died from drinking too much water does that make water a weapon? I am aware that people have died from being tazed but that said it is classified as a non-lethal weapon just like pepper spray (actually some people have died from pepper spray). Personnally I am fine with the Disney policy, but I think the OP is getting beat up for asking a legitimite question because without going through pages of Florida code they probably just want to know what to do with their taser.

In what world is a taser not a weapon? The OP is reaching for straws in hoping that as it isn't specifically listed, it is ok to take into the parks. As another poster pointed out, nuclear bombs are not listed, but they sure are weapons.

No reason to go through Florida code. That would be silly. Disney says no weapons and a taser is a weapon.

Educating OP about the definition of a weapon is appropriate here. As others have pointed out, telling him or her where one should feel secure absolutely is not. Some of us have had devastating, life-changing experiences at places that most others would deem "safe".

OP, you definitely cannot take a taser into the parks. I hope that you are able to find a way to feel comfortable and enjoy your trip.

Where is everyone getting the info that you need a permit to carry a taser?

From the link that was posted earlier, its seems like you don't.

(1) Except as provided in subsection (4), a person who carries a concealed weapon or electric weapon or device on or about his or her person commits a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.
(2) A person who carries a concealed firearm on or about his or her person commits a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.
(3) This section does not apply to a person licensed to carry a concealed weapon or a concealed firearm pursuant to the provisions of s. 790.06.
(4) It is not a violation of this section for a person to carry for purposes of lawful self-defense, in a concealed manner:
(a) A self-defense chemical spray.
(b) A nonlethal stun gun or dart-firing stun gun or other nonlethal electric weapon or device that is designed solely for defensive purposes.
(5) This section does not preclude any prosecution for the use of an electric weapon or device, a dart-firing stun gun, or a self-defense chemical spray during the commission of any criminal offense under s. 790.07, s. 790.10, s. 790.23, or s. 790.235, or for any other criminal offense.
