I want to get the 8gb iPod touch with the gift card. That will be my only reason for going. When do u think I should get there. I am not sure if that is going to be a hard to comy by deal. What do you think? Store opens midnight.

I plan on getting there about 1/2 hour before opening; was there last year and it wasn't bad. I think I'm going to a nice one that's NOT off a highway. I imagine people would hit those on their way somewhere else.

The fact that it's an 8GB might help keep people away, and also TRU has a similar deal that might limit traffic. I'm not really sure, though. If I get the iPod Touch, great. I think I will also get a couple iTunes gift cards and maybe a Wii game but I'm not sure yet.

Target has a $20 gift card this week with any iPod Touch purchase (the ad shows the 32GB, but it states "any"). There is also a 10% off coupon on their website that can be used for an additional $19.50 off. I think the coupon is still valid Black Friday (so you could potentially use it with the $40 gift card deal), but you can still get a pretty good deal this week if you don't feel like spending hours on Thanksgiving waiting and hoping they won't sell out.

They may not be lining up hours in advance for the Touch, but they WILL be lining up hours in advance for something!

FWIW - Amazon matched Target's BF ad last year ON BF...and I simply logged on and bought the iPod from Amazon for the same price from my comfy/warm home :-):thumbsup2

Has anyone asked managers at Target if they will price adjustment bf for items bought before bf? Last year I purchased a few items before and then went in and got a price adjustment on bf with no problems. But I've read that some targets are doing this again this year.

How did you go about doing that? Was the price already reduced when you went to purchase it? Or did you have to talk to CS or go to a special link to see the price. I ask this because Target has an android phone for $50 in their BF ad that I wanted to get for my brother for Christmas (it's originally $130), and since I work really early BF, I don't have time to wait outside in the cold for hours on end, and then drive aaaaallll the way home and lose over an hour of precious sleep. If I could just buy the phone with a couple of clicks at home and then BOOM-be in bed, I would be so thankful. :goodvibes

In my area they will not do that. If you want the deal you have to get in line and wait like everyone else.

oh that is good to know because I want to get the Kindle in the Target BF ad for my husband, but was not sure how I was going to sneak out to go to Target at midnight. It sure would make my shopping A LOT easier!

Typically, 2 hours before store opening will pretty much guarantee that you get what you came for.

In my neighborhood, it's not unusual to see folks sitting in lawn chairs and smoking cigars in anticipation of getting "that one big deal" -- those are the die-hards, and they set-up camp around dinnertime on Thanksgiving evening.

OTOH, if you wait-around and decide to shop until sometime after Target opens their doors at midnight, you'll be out of luck, as Target is usually a destination many people seem to agree on.

Thank you for the advice. I may go this week since they have the 20 dollar gift card offer. That with the 10% discount is a good deal.
