Target 5% Red Card discount -- restaurant gift cards?

Does anyone know if I can use my red card 5% discount on restaurant gift cards purchased at Target? I know there is a thread about using it to buy Disney gift cards (thanks for the heads up!) -- but I'm still unclear about other restaurant gift cards.

Does anyone know for sure if it would apply to gift cards other than Target gift cards?

They apply to all gift cards EXCEPT Target gift cards. All the other gift cards ring up as "entertainment cards". BTW, for some odd reason, I only got 4% off on my entertainment cards.

I bought a Red Robin one there today and it took the 5% off.

It adds everything up and then takes 5% off the total (if you're like me and CAN'T walk into Target without buying something else as well).

There are some that have an activation fee (I didn't look closely to see which ones but they were the random ones that I would never buy anyway - in the Facebook or Visa or AmEx ones I think) but I don't know if the 5% is taken off that as well.
