Does anyone here miss Tapestry of Dreams? or is it just me?

I missed it, too on our trip this summer. Oh well......

I really don't care much for parades, but I loved Tapestry of Dreams!! I will miss it a lot on our up coming trip :( .
Can't wait to see what they will replace it with, hopefully it will be something even more wonderful!

Tapestry of Dreams holds my BEST all time Disney memory...we saw it from "Breathless" when the parade passed over the bridge while we were waiting for Illuminations to start. Those beautiful stilted characters danced and waved just for us down below!!!

Last night my DD - age 6 - and I were looking at pictures from previous trips. We saw pictures from her very first "Hay Ya" parade (her name for the Tapestry of Nations/Dreams parade). I told her there wouldn't be a Hey Ya parade when we visited this December. She looked long at the picture and said "I think I'm gonna cry - I really will miss that parade. It was my favorite."

Wow - she opened her mouth and my words came out! She would always dance with the music and the characters always would pick her to come dance with them. It was pure magic every time. I did cry as we watched her dance with them the last time in August of 2002. I knew it was the closing act of a chapter which I hated to see end. The next week my DD started school and was no longer my baby girl who would dance carefree with the huge puppets.

I sure hope they come up with something really special to replace ToD - I do miss it!

We really loved it too. We do have the CD though, and we listen to it often. Fortunately we have some of it on video.

Our whole family really misses this parade!

Everything I've seen says there are no current plans to replace this parade.

New parades cost money, ya know?

(I'm not bitter. Really.)

(Okay, maybe I am.)

We first saw this in 2000 as the Tapestry of Nations parade, during the centennial celebration. In the course of a week we saw it 3 times, and always on the bench right there in Germany where it begins and ends. So actually, each time we saw the parade, we saw it twice....first going, then coming as the other parade was nearing their exit point. So I guess you could say we saw it six times! I would not have known about that great viewing location if it were not for the DIS! We also saw this parade another time from the boat near the International Bridge with 10 other DISers on our Illumination Cruise. Fabulous! Last year I went to WDW twice. First trip was in May with DDs and DGDs and we saw Tapestry of Dreams twice. Again, from "our" spot in Germany. The girls just loved it when the "big puppets" bent down to touch them! The next trip was with DH and I and we saw it 3 more times. One time we caught in near Morocco as we were just walking on the promenade. It just didn't have the same feel as waiting on the bench in anticipation for the big doors to open and the parade to begin. Of all things Disney-past, this parade will be our fondest memory. We have the music on CD and whenever we need a Disney fix we listen....DH even plays the air drums. Oh, what great memories.

I will miss it.

Epcot at night was much more fun.

I gotta think it pulled people and $ into the places that aren't there now.

My wife really loved this parade. She, also, is not impressed with many parades. In fact, she would do away with Illuminations and keep Tapestry of Dreams (Nations). It really was a good parade with excellent music and artistry.

It was a very sad day in our house when we learned Tapestry of Nations/Dreams was no longer in Epcot. Several of my best memories are with this parade. Hubby and I on our honeymoon, my mom and I dancing in the rain during her first ever trip to WDW! Thankfully I have the CD and some of it on video! :)

Yes! We miss this a lot! I loved how interactive it was. We often went several times a trip. I also LOVED the music.

I like the little AK parade too, because it reminds me of TOD!

I really miss it. We've seen it only once, but it is one of my greatest Disney memories. It was Oct 2001 and my wife and I spent all day taking our kids from country to country working on their masks. Then we found a great spot to watch the parade. It was a very special Disney day.

We are definitely going to miss it on our trip in Feb. We were there last year for the final perfomance. It was so sad. There were alot of tears among the participants and the crowd. My DD (12) was crying, and begging me to buy the Illuminations CD. I am so glad I did. We listen to it ALL the time. It brings both a tear and a smile!

I still say we all need to get together and march around the WS with the music on our own boombox and signs that say bring back the TON!

Whos with me?

I loved TOD! It always brought a tear to my eye.

We also have it on video, but it just isn't the same.

Loved it!! Epcot was really missing something this past summer without it. I loved the music and the sight of it going bye.... I hope the next one is just as great or better.

DW misses quite a lot. I'm glad I got it on video, so that she can watch it whenever she wants.

I think Disney made a huge mistake by getting rid of this awesome parade. :(

I was lucky enough to see the last two parades and it was very emotional. A group of people formerly in the parade were there chanting the words and singing the song, and believe me the tears were flowing. By the end of the last parade, one drummer raced back out and bowed and many of the puppets were standing in the background as the dreamseekers came in for the last time, and as the crowd approached behind the parade signs read we miss tapestry, or a group of three guys each had a sign that said "dream on" and one of the performers had a sign on his costume, "I miss Tap"

I was very sad to see this parade go, it was one of the few reasons I actually went to Epcot, I hope Disney realizes the mistake they made and bring back Tapestry of Dreams!
