Talk to me about the skyliner.

@dvczerfs - So here's a screenshot of what I see as your reply to my post. There are 2 other responses to other posters that look the same (no visible response text). Really weird. Then there's a 4th response that appears normally. Super weird. :D So all this to say, I have no idea if you meant to respond....or if there's some glitch and I can't see your response....or if you're politely telling me to go away. :D

Sorry bluezy, nothing against you, some people just ruin it for others.
Send me a message the next time your coming down, we can meet up in a park or at the springs.

Yeah saw that too. Crazy how the mouse gestapo censors are active in here. Sorry to hear you had a "visit."

No, no visit, I deleted it.
Under duress/threat/warning I presume. It was a description of a procedure from the perspective of someone on the inside, and was subsequently removed.

We can put two and two together.

We are staying at AOA. We have a park hopper going to Epcot and then MK. Is there a way I can return to Epcot to use the Skyliner and use the skyliner back to AOA?

You’d have to take the monorail back to EPCOT, walk a mile and a half through the park, and then get in line for the Skyliner, and only if EPCOT is open can you even do that.

Does every rider have to disembark at Caribbean Beach? we are staying at Art of Animation
I think the CMs at the Skyway Station are programmed-"open doors, everyone exit." We've often told the CM, when we get on at Epcot, that we're just going on a round trip to Caribbean and back (yeah, we're Skyway riders). Always, we have to get off, go around the corner and get back on...the same Skyway car.

It's a safety issue because when the skyway car goes around the comer the doors remain open and they can't have anyone in that area

Yes that is a hard rule that they are not going to change.

We did this on our last day at Disney. We actually started at MK and then hopped to EP. Through a crazy series of events, we ended up back at a MK resort for dinner. We decided we wanted one last ride on the Skyliner (which was HUGE since I arrived at DW thinking I was going to hate the Skyliner due to several anxiety issues I have, but I ended up loving it.). So we took the monorail back to EP, walked through the park, and hopped on the Skyliner for one last ride back to AoA. So, yes, it's possible (assuming EP is still open...and you really *don't* want to get to the Skyliner as the fireworks are ending), it's just not efficient. But sometimes people aren't looking for efficient.

and when you exit, walk all the way over that big solid yellow line and to the exit. Lol. In most cases, there are people getting off the cabins behind you. Don’t attempt to help with a stroller, hang on the doors, this slows and in most cases stops the line. If you stand in the front of the door, the operator can’t see, slow or stop the line if someone needs help. You are also putting yourself and the people attempting to exit the cabin in danger. Just walk across the yellow line, if the stroller or a person who can’t move to well is having a hard time, the operator will slow or stop the line.
Last thing you want is to dump a stroller into the pit between the cabins and three people standing in front of a moving cabin door trying to “help”.
Some people attempt to hold the cabin, I don’t care how big or strong you are, you won’t stop it.
Another thing to keep in mind, if anything you need to have, secure it before entering or exiting a cabin. You drop it in the pit, It won’t be retrieved till after operating hours, yes, even a cell phones, iPad, glasses you name it.
The only station you can fly through is Riv.
It is considered public transportation, no alcohol and shirt, shoes must be worn at all times.
Everyone follows those few simple steps, the line will move with less delays and stops.

Anyone stayed at AoA or Pop use the sky liner for rope drops and how have you found it? Does it beat the bus and Uber options?

Thanks

We used it for rope drop at DHS in June (we didn't do rope drop at EP this trip -- always hopped there in the afternoon or did a late morning arrival). My plan was to be in line by 6:45 a.m. for an 8:00 Early Entry. Well, we were running behind and didn't get out to the Skyliner until about 6:55 and the line extended back to Bldg. 3 in the 50's section. The line did move constantly though and we were standing in line at the gates at DHS by 7:22 a.m. (probably a little earlier, but that's the time stamp on the first picture I took there). We were about 50 people back from the front of the line which was fine for us as we weren't going to ROTR at rope drop -- we were heading to ToT with maybe a hundred other people. If we were heading to ROTR at rope drop, I think we would have been much further back in the line than I would have wanted to be. They actually let us in the park by about 7:40 that day.

Wow that’s really useful. We’re considering either 2 weeks at Pop or split with 1 week at AKL or OKW so good to know we can get a good start on the sky liner
